He is brave.

He also makes it clear how brutally Palestinians were treated by many Israelis before this. Imagine running over a five year old on purpose then harrassing her grieving family.

Sorry for the late reply, I must have missed the notification. Yeah, he's the best!

That was awful. What the Palestinians experience is unimaginable. Robert Martin was very brave in confronting the harassers.

Mmm. Yet here you are judging Motaz who has also been through a horrendous time, lost multiple loved ones, hugged blown up babies in his arms while bringing them to hospital, has to live everyday with the knowledge that his family and friends could die at any moment, has seen more horrific things than we can ever imagine and is suffering from PTSD and other health issues as a result of the conflict.

Do you not think that he should also get a pass for sometimes doing or saying things that might make others uncomfortable?

Don't agree that he retweeted that criticism but unfortunately there was a lot of criticism online from many quarters so definitely not limited to that twitter account

That's not what I said, I said I did not agree with him retweeting the criticism. I don't agree with any of the criticism but my point was, there was a lot of criticism so he was one of many, doesn't mean it's right but it was clearly a view taken by many unfortunately

My point is that you are criticising him for doing exactly what you are doing, judging a severely traumatised person who has been through horrendous things. Except you aren't a traumatised person who just escaped horrendous things.

Personally I don't think it is ok for either Motaz or Noa to be judged, he shouldn't have retweeted but he also shouldn't have had to hold blown up babies on his lap and I am understanding of the fact that he is a traumatised man and sometimes he and other traumatised people may do or say things that make us uncomfortable. People like you judging severely traumatised people from the safety of your sofa I'm less understanding of.

Sorry, I just saw that you edited your post. No, I'm not 'that person', Im not on twitter, don't read twitter posts, have no idea what goes on there.

Yes, of course I would give a free pass when it comes to retweeting a post to anyone who has been traumatised in such a severe way, I don't care what their nationality is.

Yup, you can judge severely traumatised people all you like, as you flagged yourself you aren't the only person judging severely traumatised people, that's why it seemed strange that you flagged it at all. You are swearing about your 'rights' but seem to have a problem with others using theirs in the exact same way.

I'm not getting into some kind of spat with you. I made my point and it's clear that it hit a nerve for you given you seem very worked up and defensive, perhaps take some time to try and figure out why that might be.

Sorry possibly worded it clumsily I meant I don't agree with him for retweeting the criticism. I'm not on twitter so no idea if he did or didn't but I'm assuming you're accurate that he did

EasterIssland · 27/08/2024 18:54

It’s vuelta de España , cycling race around Spain. There are several Palestinian flags across the route.
