That's great, thanks! I had no idea his support for Palestine stretched back that far.

It could possibly be for fashion or because he liked it, he's never expressed any opinion about Palestine one way or the other afaik, happy to be corrected. The keffiyeh/sudra is a traditional headdress or scarf in many different patterns, the wearing of which stretches far back in time and across the entire Middle East and North African region long before before the now familiar white and black version was co-opted by Yasser Arafat. The keffiyeh's cultural appropriation by people not of that region has led to an unfortunate homogenisation of the style that belies the vibrant variety, tradition and cultures behind it.
