Israel has been dropping leaflets urging they move south. Thousands are doing so safely.

They are taking on Hamas and pleased that people are moving so not to be caught up in the fighting. People are walking in their thousands.

One lady said they walked past tanks 'from both sides'.

I read today that Israel has already given licences to BP and others to start drilling for oil/gas off Gaza coast. I don't know what that means for Gaza's people, but it seems like it's going to be part of the equation.

Is Israel going to vet and approve the Palestinian new government, that worked so well in Afghanistan.

The Palestinians should have the right to choose their own government.

The IDF have a history of warning civilians to evacuate which can be easily researched. Phone calls to civilians are also not a new thing.

This is interesting as it details the strategies that Hamas have used again in this current conflict including the use of distressing images to control the narrative (note Israel does not publish pictures of its dead), and so create pressure for a ceasefire and the use of AMBULANCES to transport Hamas operatives going back to 2004!

The IDF have a history of shooting dead young people who throw stones at them. They have loads of young Palestinians in Israeli jails, often with no charge.

So this pathetic warning is neither here or there after the 4 weeks of bombarding a largely civilian population, to get at Hamas.

Following orders to massacre whole families in a trapped population, whilst destroying their housing and businesses is so wrong. I still think there were better ways of extracting Hamas, without killing half the population indiscriminately.

Also, at what time does Israel accept that Palestinians are entitled to be treated as equals and humans, who can choose their own destiny and government.

I don’t think Israel have any intention of letting the Palestinians come back to their land. This is genocide and ethnic cleansing. Israel can now access the oil.

I've coincidentally just seen the clip with English subtitles on Al Jazeera. She actually says the word "sides" (plural). Like there are tanks on all sides, or tanks at the sides. She does not say "both sides".

I speak Arabic. It's clear in Arabic, ambiguous in English.

And it's obviously only Israeli tanks because Palestinians don't have any. And you can be absolutely certain of that, because Israel would NOT be quiet about it: we'd have been shown images to prove they're not civilians.

Shows just how important good translation is though! It's a real skill and is exactly who automated translation is problematic.

I think it was a valid thing to point out. If you insist on flooding threads with blow-by-blow newsflashes, you have to accept a variety of responses to them. This is supposed to be a discussion forum, not a closely controlled public broadcast service.

Once they’ve bombed the crap out of that place they still won’t stop the atrocities on the Palestinians, another convenient reason will emerge and they will continue with the genocide. Only time it will stop is when there are no Palestinians who want a free Palestine left. Not about destroying Hamas. Just wait and watch.

Of course Hamas don't want the civilian population of Gaza to move out safely to the South of the country. They would lose their human shield living in Gaza and lose protection of their tunnel system under the city. The UN are right to make them move out to safety.

And Hamas are going no where. You know all the young men and children that have lost everything? Their family, homes and every reason to live? They are the next Hamas. The biggest difference between them and the Israelis is that such Palestinians are not afraid of dying.
