The images coming through on news channels are horrific.

Can you specify where you’re seeing this please, I’ve just googled and there is literally nothing about an ambulance being hit let alone ‘targeted’.

LittleMsTellTheTruth · 03/11/2023 15:13

Was it an Egyptian ambulance?
Don’t get me wrong, it horrible nonetheless, it’s just that Egypt said if Israel were to attack any of their ambulances / aid, it would be seen as an attack on Egypt.

It’s awful, and sadly what Israelis are known to do.

FOJN · 03/11/2023 15:13

I think the ambulance was outside Al Shifa Hospital.

Israeli airstrikes have also killed 14 Palestinians, including children, who were trying to escape south using the coast road, the road the Israeli military told them to use.

I suppose it must be really hard to avoid hitting the inmates in such an overcrowded prison. Poor IDF, they're doing their best to hit avoid civilians.

Is it? Could you provide me with some information about this 'fact'?

OhNoForever · 03/11/2023 15:16

God they're nakedly awful.

FOJN · 03/11/2023 15:16

Currently being reported by AlJazeera.

LittleMsTellTheTruth · 03/11/2023 15:18

It is @hamstersarse .
You are welcome to google the statistics. Israel has long history of this, so it’s pretty well documented in the past and now.

SomeCatFromJapan · 03/11/2023 15:18

I've also just seen some disturbing footage doing the rounds on twitter showing a mass of shot bodies on Al Rasheed Beach Road in Gaza. No sign of airstrikes or anything so the talk seems to be Hamas attempting to prevent people leaving.

I've only seen this on X though so not verified, and not at this point being reported by any of the mainstream news agencies.

ketchup07070 · 03/11/2023 15:18

Health ministry in Gaza say it was carrying critically wounded people for treatment in Egypt, according to Guardian live. I hope there will be more details soon.

If the ambulance in the photo had been targeted by an airstrike wouldn't there be more damage to it?

hamstersarse · 03/11/2023 15:21

So you think Israel "are known for" unprovoked random attacks on civilians.

Right.

Parkingt111 · 03/11/2023 15:22

Well the French aren't currently too happy about this

Israels airstrikes have targeted an ambulance carrying injured civilians towards the Rafah border...
FOJN · 03/11/2023 15:24

I imagine if you are trying to avoid civilian casualties you don't force more Palestinians into a war zone.

Parkingt111 · 03/11/2023 15:25

It's still coming onto major news channels

@Parkingt111 Bizarre to target French Journalism. I don't know what the French Institute does, but presumably it screens French cinema, offers French classes etc? I wonder why the army would strike it.

Parkingt111 · 03/11/2023 15:28

Omg iv just seen footage of it
It's horrific

It was also a news office
And the latest in the ongoing attack on journalists in gaza
Luckily nobody was in the office at the time of the strike

DirectionToPerfection · 03/11/2023 15:32

This is horrific and it's disgusting that people will minimise, deflect and excuse the murder of vulnerable civilians.

As the Irish Taoiseach said, this isn't self defense, it's about getting revenge.

AllWeWantToDo · 03/11/2023 15:33

It's absolutely awful, poor people

Oh my God.

Oh my God.

I honestly have no words. 💔

ketchup07070 · 03/11/2023 15:33

@Parkingt111 I do remember when Israel was bombing Gaza in 2021 they struck the building of the Associated Press Offices. No, the French will not be happy about an attack on their journalism, but also on one of their cultural institutions.

ketchup07070 · 03/11/2023 15:35

This attack on an ambulance is clearly much worse in terms of innocent deaths and suffering.

OhHelloTheres · 03/11/2023 15:36

Again - use words responsibly. Saying an ambulance was targeted is a lie. Instead, say it was hit. Language matters.
