The images coming through on news channels are horrific.

Omg iv just seen footage of it
It's horrific
Absolutely horrific
No words

A strong trigger warning

Having previously worked in ICU I'm no stranger to seeing traumatic injuries but that is horrific.

So you think Israel "are known for" unprovoked random attacks on civilians.

Right.

yes. Look at what’s been happening for years on the West Bank. Watch some documentaries. Do your own research.

Again - use words responsibly. Saying an ambulance was targeted is a lie. Instead, say it was hit. Language matters.

Instead of saying killed by Israeli forces say unalived by a country defending itself.

Is that the kind of thing you would prefer, I'd hate to use words irresponsibly, that would be so much worse than using weapons of war irresponsibly.

Can you even hear yourself?

Do you honestly think that it was an accidental hit? Honestly?

I've also just seen some disturbing footage doing the rounds on twitter showing a mass of shot bodies on Al Rasheed Beach Road in Gaza. No sign of airstrikes or anything so the talk seems to be Hamas attempting to prevent people leaving.

I've only seen this on X though so not verified, and not at this point being reported by any of the mainstream news agencies.

I've seen that too Sad

I quoted the wording a reputable news agency used.

It was a convoy of ambulances that was targeted. There is no justification for this attack. None.

I was alot younger then but I certainly did read up on it
And if we continue with that rhetoric It would mean we dismiss everything happening in Gaza
Despite the UN saying there is a risk of genocide

No you didn't. You quoted Al Jazeera. The same people who literally filmed a rocket from Gaza hitting a hospital in Gaza and then quickly deleted the footage and said it was Israel's fault.

Parkingt111 · 03/11/2023 16:01

@PurpleChrayne there's alot of minimising there
It's not just a bunch of mumsnetters who are criticising the IDF
It's a lot of countries, individuals, human rights groups etc

Yes, I can hear myself. It's hard with all the lies constantly being spouted, but I hear myself. Thanks for asking.

And @Shouldimove - honestly? If it was definitely hit by Israel then I would assume it was either accidental or targeted if it was full of Hamas members. It doesn't look like it was hit directly in which case I'd say accidental, but I'd rather wait and see what they say happened. Await some kind of verification.

inkworks273 · 03/11/2023 16:05

Horrific. Absolutely horrific. There's no defending the Israeli government at this point.

OhHelloTheres · 03/11/2023 16:05

Either way, my thoughts are with those injured. It looks beyond awful.

Parkingt111 · 03/11/2023 16:06

@PurpleChrayne
The same IDF that bombed the Israeli designated safe zones in the south? The day after it told the civilians to move there
This is from BBC VERIFY btw before you casually dismiss it as Hamas propaganda

Are you very young? Because I can assure you that the actions of the US and British armies in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan etc were widely covered in the news and there was a very large number of people in the media and in the public who were against it. In 2003 1.5 million people marched in London against the war in Iraq, this wasn’t a hush hush thing we didn’t know about. People very much “took an interest”, even if you apparently aren’t aware of it.

ketchup07070 · 03/11/2023 16:08

Blinken just visited to urge some restraint and humanitarian pauses. Not sure he has had much impact. Netanyahu is pushing on using 'our full power.'

PastorCarrBonarra · 03/11/2023 16:13

Horrific suffering. Netanyahu hellbent on revenge.

Right.

Of course they are, but they have really reached the depths of inhumanity over these last few days. Evil evil government I hope they all end up in The Hague for warcrimes.

Revenge has nothing to do with it. It's his excuse for committing a genocide which is what he's always wanted.

Fucking hell, you think it was an accident? I have no words !

Weddingpuzzle · 03/11/2023 16:22

@PurpleChrayne 'I wonder if anyone accusing the IDF of being "awful" took as much interest in the actions of the US or British army during the gulf wars or the war against Al Qaeda...no jews, no news'

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/feb/11/slugs-iraq-war-london-protest-2003-legacy

Plenty did and do. Lots of people discuss, report on and are aware of world affairs. My colleagues discuss Yemen and on going Saudi military action there frequently. What about the outrage against the Rwandan genocide of Hutu refugees and Interhamwe in the Congo in the 90's? Lots and lots of coverage. Also reporting and coverage of Rohingya refugees who had to flee their homes in Myanmar’s Rakhine State.

You might want to re write history, but there was, is and always have been plenty of opposition to military action and reporting of it.

‘A beautiful outpouring of rage’: did Britain’s biggest ever protest change the world?

In February 2003, 1.5 million people protested in London against the looming conflict. They didn’t stop the war… but their legacy still looms large

Well, yes. I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary. Have you? I'm happy to be proven wrong.

true , language does matter so let’s start by saying people don’t just mysteriously "die "in Gaza they get killed by The Israeli Army with American made bombs.
better?

Parkingt111 · 03/11/2023 16:30

The vicinity of the Indonesian hospital in Gaza has just been struck again right now
It's terrible
I try not to be emotional on here but it's really very difficult to continue to see
