The number of children reported killed in just three weeks in Gaza is more than the number killed in armed conflict globally – across more than 20 countries – over the course of a whole year, for the last three years.

Statement on children's deaths in Gaza | Save the Children

Children killed in Gaza in three weeks surpasses annual number of children killed across the world's conflict zones since 2019.

On Sky live now, a baby, a very young baby rushed into a hospital with her leg ripped off, a hospital that has been ordered to evacuate.

Please just make it stop, for the love of God, whatever name you give God just make it stop

When people say 'evacuate' and 'human shield' that poor child is who they are talking about. A child who could be any of ours if we were less lucky in where we were born.

There was a 10 year old boy carrying his siblings body parts in a bag. A dad carrying two flimsy carrier bags with legs and arms of his children. Its abhorrent.

Ohlalalalala · 30/10/2023 22:29

I saw an ice cream truck full of bodies. I can't see what I saw. And I never saw more than a few seconds at a time. I am traumatised for life. I unfollowed Motaz Azaiza on Instagram because I couldn't bear to see so much devastated lives anymore. 💔 Poor poor brave forsaken people 😢

I saw a video of a boy my son's age. It was just the terror on his face when he heard the airstrikes. His face. It just reminded me of my son's. It made me cry. I feel so sad.

James O'Brien probes caller Stuart over the 'legitimacy' of Israel's bombing of Gaza after he cited civilian casualties as 'collateral damage', while also questioning whether the Israelis would be pursuing the same tactics if Hamas were hiding in Israel.

Brilliant questioning. Thank you James.

I feel the same and so useless. Its traumatising to see the real life hell the people of Gaza are in. But then I also can't ignore it and go about life like its not happening.

It clearly only matters when its not Palestinians

The Turkish frienship hospital... a cancer hospital has been bombed. Isreal making no claims that hamas is linked to it. Bombed anyway.

That's what's killing me. Our government is complicit in the genocide. This time they didn't even try to pretend to to care for the innocent victims.

I know. And now Suella Braverman is saying the people who attended the marches that were to show the civilians of Gaza our support and to demand a ceasefire, well she says they are hate marches. That's the calibre of the people leading this country.

What gets me about that line of thinking is do they really believe that no one could actually be against the mass killing of innocent people? Against the destruction of 1million peoples homes? Like is it that foreign an idea to them that people would actually care? Do they think so little of Palestinians that they can't even imagine that anyone would ever care about what happens to them? That their driver is antisemitism not humanity because how could anyone ever possibly care about them.

ssd · 30/10/2023 23:10

I don't think thats the problem to the government. We are so used to riding on the US's coat tails we must do everything to kow-tow to them. And Israel seems to have the US in their back pocket. Its all money and power. The lives lost mean nothing to these folk.

And "WHO says it has not been able to resupply two hospitals in northern Gaza, Al-Shifa and Al-Quds hospitals, because the United Nations deemed the level of risk unacceptable."

Think what is going to happen there and not just to children.

AllWeWantToDo · 30/10/2023 23:14

We have to assume during conflict that military are doing everything they can for security reasons, neh we shouldn't assume that at all!

Braverman trying to paint all those willing to show support for innocents in Gaza with a tiny minority in a separate march is an absolute disgrace and on a par with the alternative facts of Trumpist America.

I have never been a Tory supporter but i have never been so ashamed to be British before and that's said as someone who marched against Bliars war in Iraq

Good lord.

But Sunak will be happy, he told Netanyahu he hopes Israel win.

Imagine the outcry if someone said 'I hope Palestine win'. 🙄

Silence1 · 30/10/2023 23:37

This is the wrong thread no doubt but
there was a leaked document showing Israel's plan to force Palestinians to Sinai whilst " On October 20, 2023, the White House sent a request to Congress for supplemental funding for the current fiscal year, which, among other things, includes logistical, infrastructure, and other material support to make possible housing displaced Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries"

US Congress: Reject Bill to Support Forced Israeli Displacement of Palestinians to Third Countries

(Washington D.C., October 28, 2023) — The United States should oppose any Israeli actions that could result in the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, said Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN).

Yes. Even calling for a ceasefire gets MPs in trouble.

HaveALaff · 31/10/2023 19:53

So much of this was pre-planned and it is very scary. Please everyone, protest as much as you can, speak about this to colleagues in a respectful way and raise awareness!

ketchup07070 · 31/10/2023 20:02

Did anyone see there was a sit in protest at Liverpool St station earlier? It was organised by Sisters Uncut, who I think campaign against VAWG. Some commuters joined them.
