Hi all,

Brand new thread!

I started it so I must get a BFP before the end - them's the rules.

OP posts:
MrsGMack · 18/07/2010 12:19

delilahbelle only just seen your post.

I don't know where you are based? But if you are thinking about acupuncture, make sure you go to one specialising in fertility. A good place to start is here www.acupuncture.org.uk

I found mine through a personal recommendation

MrsGMack · 18/07/2010 12:22

Digi bummer about the BFN - know how you feel. Pretty crap isn't it xx

batteryhen · 18/07/2010 16:25

Hello

Well I got to the ball ok, DP had to wedge me into my dress, as to get the zip on, the lady had to take a bit off the back, so I spent the night with a fixed on my face - due to the fact I couldn't really breathe, but it was good fun. Apart from a very small stain made from the durex lube on the back - no one was any the wiser!

I ate and drank what I liked as I am not going to test till Saturday ( trying to convince myself!!) I am looking out for hopefully not to test too, or my resolve may fade! Sounds like you are being strong though and not testing early!!

Julia - its possible you Ovd' late, if for some reason you are on a day 28 day cycle - you may have ovulated later than usual - maybe you stopped POAS a bit early? Fingers x for you

hairy - I think everyone is guilty of symptom spotting I do it all the time x

PV - on fertility friend, they have counted my DPO from the day after I appear to have ovulated, so I am on DPO7 ( I want to test now !!)

I hope everyone is ok, I have just dropped DP off at the station to go back to Germany, so I am now going to do some internet shopping

Wave to everyone elsexx

Moofold · 19/07/2010 08:21

Hi everyone, not been around for a bit so will try to catch up on everyone's news later. digi sorry to hear about the BFN x

Hopefully I got my BFP with the LO we lost at 12dpo and this time not until 13dpo (BFN at 12dpo this time). MrsPretty I had a quick check at my old fertility friend and I ov'd on the Sunday and it counted Monday as 1dpo.

Hope you are all well, no news from here. Still neurotic about lack of feeling pregnant and getting anxious about scan tomorrow. We're going to see Toy Story today so that will take my mind off it for a bit. 8s hope you're coping with your new status well and good luck viv and everyone else on the TWW and those at the SWI stage xx

Moofold · 19/07/2010 08:29

Really should have read back on thread before posting - and shouldn't be doing it just now or will miss the cinema! Just wanted to say hope you're feeling better Loopy, had all those same thoughts x

Also Barren - good luck with the appt pal, will keep an eye out for how you get on. Northern also know how you're feeling, its pretty scary stuff but as I think loopy once said to me, if there's nothing wrong then everything is ok so keep believing that x

I'm really away this time!

Moofold · 19/07/2010 08:44

One last thing, Jolls I seeing you posted but you haven't said how you are - how are things going with you?

[switches laptop off to force self to get ready and stop reading MN posts]

VivClicquot · 19/07/2010 09:11

Morning lovelies

Hope you all had fab weekends. Lots to catch up on but as I'm putting off diving into my to-do list, I'm going to attempt some personals.

empty - Hope you are going easy on yourself, my love. As for the Christmas thing, me and DH are actually planning on going somewhere hot and sunny for Christmas this year, as it will be too hard knowing it ought to be our first Christmas with either of our babies. Could you do the same? Your (mental and physical) wellbeing is far more important than family duty - you'll have lots of Christmases to do the family thing, so maybe take a year out for yourselves?

battery - The exact same thing happened to me last year! However, in my case, it had happened a) in Reiss in central London, b) on my actul birthday and c) was two days after we'd discovered about my mmc.

Basically, DH and I had booked to spend my birthday weekend in London from Sat - Mon, but had the fateful scan on the Thursday. We decided we should still head to London so we could have a weekend together coming to terms with things (and also - we were going to see Take That at Wembley so there was no question I wasn't going to go!), so was a bit on autopilot wandering around the shops. Tried on an amazing dress in Reiss that was in the sale, but the zip got stuck and I had to literally be cut out of the dress with a pair of scissors by the very unamused shop assistant. It was the first time all weekend I laughed and laughed and laughed.

digi - so sorry about the BFN honey x

julia - I also reckon you may have ov'd later in your cycle.

prettyvacant - I have just about forgiven you for the Wooden Boat comment. While it is a Jason classic, it can't come close to 'How Did It Come To This' for its mere use of the word, 'compartmentalising' in one of the verses ... genius. ;-)

As for your dpo - I count the day after ov as 1dpo. So I think I ovulated on Day 16, so as today's day 20, I'm 4dpo. (And truth be told, already feeling pretty pessimistic for no reason whatsoever.)

If you ov'd on D12, you're now on 8dpo - so definitely into the boob proddage stage

Hi to moo and 8s and jolls and muser and hopefully and mrsgmack and barren and delilah and hairy and anyone else I've missed.

Much love
Viv xxxx

ps - went to see Inception at the cinema yesterday. It's amazing. You should all go and see it.

Cheepz · 19/07/2010 10:12

HI all
moof thanks for asking - am ok, 8 weeks today, so still in the game. Feeling increasingly sick and weary, but in waves, so copable with (plus a bulk order to Amazon for Thomas, ITNG, and Fireman Sam DVDs has been very useful for entertaining DS when I really can't face another trip to the park for mad scootering - lots of guilt though as don't really like him watching too much TV, but figure gotta get through the next few weeks somehow...!)

cheepzy pleased all moving in a positive direction for you - very on your deluxe break!

Wave to all - busy old fred at the mo. Will continue to lurk as still don't want to graduate...

Ok, so I need a slap with a big wet fish. I promised I wouldn't do the symptom spotting, but here I am in my lunch time......

I had a dip below the cover line on my temps yesterday (7DPO), cramps today and a bit of spotting??? Also I have a urine infection, which does sometimes happen when DP is at home - from all the 'ahem' bedroom olympics

If I promise to bring in an extra large kipper will someone do the honours please? xx

Julia1969 · 19/07/2010 12:57

Battery - excellent behaviour as will make me seem less menkul, relatively speaking. Come her, I'll mackerel you up.

Pretty - as others have said I believe CD13 would be 1 DPO. Thwack.

Cheepz Yay, things are turning around for you - that's great.

Loopy weird when and how it gets to you isn't it? I often think that I'm mostly OK and then, for instance, went for a bikini wax ()and the young woman who was doing asks 'do you have kids?' All of a sudden I've got a great big lump in my throat? Big hug to you.

Muser that's so lovely.X

Day 29 (UCL 26/27) Still no RTD another BFN on FR this morning. Only backache and heartburn to report. Must stop testing until later this week . . .is pointless, no? Thwack.

lucysnowe · 19/07/2010 13:05

Hey all

digi so sorry about the BFN and obv I completely sympathise with the long cycle angst. I seem to spend most of the time just hanging around for my hormones to get into gear, panicking when they do, then getting vastly over excited during the 2ww only to have the whole thing start all over again. I totally had CRAZY symptoms last time around and was v. nonplussed to see a BFN. It is bloody annoying that PMT symptoms appear to be stupidly similar to pg ones. HOWEVER in your case as I said to jollster just before she got her BFP it ain't over till the pg lady sings.... &tc.

If I'm not pg this time around I am going to the docs for some metformin to maybe help reduce my cycle length - I don't think you have PCOS tho do you?

sympathy empty hopefully and pv too. And anyone else who needs a hug.

lucysnowe · 19/07/2010 13:08

loopy that's who I forgot! God bless loopy /Fraulein Maria

youremindmeofthebabe · 19/07/2010 19:30

Viv, you're not the first person to mention to me how good Inception is, I really must take a visit to the cinema to watch it. I hope that Toy Story is good too, Moof, we are going to see that on Friday, and I am inordinately excited!

hopefully your stuff is lush, and I like your Blog too . I keep thinking I should attempt to make a quilt, keep my fingers busy. Perhaps you will inspire me..

Muser that's brilliant news!

Loopy sorry you're feeling low, did you get any SWI done in the end?

I feel like i'm getting thrush(nice-I hate thrush) so, don't know whether to SWI here anyway, am probably a few days off EWCM so may just bob to the chemists instead and get sorted.

Hello to all

hairytriangle · 19/07/2010 23:39

Pass me a kipper someone lol

VivClicquot · 20/07/2010 08:58

snort

Morning Hairy. Pray tell why you needed the kipper at such a late hour last night?

digitalgirl · 20/07/2010 11:42

Here you go hairy

Rtd is due either today or tomorrow. Hoping it comes today so that I've got more period-free days on holiday. Temps have dropped so I know it's due. 16 day luteal phase again, so at least I have that to rely on.

Bring on cycle 2! I'm ready for ya.

12 months of ttc this August. Not really something to celebrate, although am surprised at our stamina.

Quick post - I have stopped with all the crazy symptom spotting - I have now gone the other way and convinced my self I am so 'without symptoms' that I am not pregnant at all, and will probably never be pregnant again (see how the craziness affects me if I am left unsupervised for too long ??) Maybe I will do a crazy chicken dance to cheer myself up

My friend who has been trying to get pregnant since xmas has asked to pop over and see me tonight - I know she will tell me she is pregnant - am pleased - but I will need some deep breaths at the ready.

Sorry for the me post - hope eveyone is ok

Where is hopefully ?? Wonder if there is any early testing going on

Hopefully · 20/07/2010 15:21

Afternoon everyone!

Met up with v lovely wedding photographer today, and have all but booked him, which will mean we've sorted a photographer before (a) marquee, (b) caterers, (c) the registry office. Sensible, right?

Would love to be symptom spotting (I am a whopping 10DPO after all), but have NOTHING to work with - no cramps, no aches, no spotting, no funny tastes, no nausea. I wouldn't expect PMT symptoms yet either, so really I have no inkling either way.

It's funny, I'm now at the point where I can't actually imagine getting a BFP. I'm just waiting for the inevitable BFN/RTD combo to show up so we can get back on the treadmill for another month. hippy friend would no doubt suggest that my negative attitude isn't helping me conceive, but I honestly can't actually get my head round the concept that it will ever happen now. (Which is stupid. I'm 27 and the worst case scenario is probably a big age gap, as I can't imagine that I won't ever conceive again, having produced DS and not noticed my uterus dropping out since then).

Loopy DP is always v excited at prospect of DTD on camping trips, I am always faintly horrified (DS is approximately 18 inches away the other side of a piece of nylon.) We're going on Thursday, AF is due on Saturday. I may have to test Thursday morning before we go, so I know whether to expect RTD while we're away. That's a justifiable reason for early testing, right?

Incidentally, my temps have been up over the past 2 days, by about 0.2 degrees. Is this good, bad or indifferent? I'm about 10DPO, but temps didn't show a massive shift between pre and post OV (if I didn't have CBFM as well, I'm not sure I'd have particularly noticed the rise, as I had 3 random high temps at around the CD 6-10 mark, mainly due to my crap temp taking). Any experienced tempers out there with any idea?
