C'mon in BESHes to the beach bar...sprawl on comfy sofas while you wiggle your toes in the sand and watch a glorious sunset....and drink brightly coloured cocktails with sparklers in. Cos we're classy, innit.

I've got Adam and joe in as barmen, and we have a rather nice Cave of Gloom in the corner for those 'whyyyyyy meeeeeeee???' moments. We have a reggae sound system playing mob barley's greatest hits. It's a sunshine paradise!

Newcomers welcome,as long as they drag along a bucket of black humour and a vast amount of gin. And please note, some of us have been here so long we have forgotten the real world almost entirely.

Now,who's getting the next round in?

I will keep everything crossed for your dad and his liver. I really hope it's a false alarm and everything is fine.

You are welcome to the CBDs. Scropey, Gin and Camel all have my email address; could you get it off them and send me an address to post them to?

25 weeks now and I've put on a stone and a half already [fat munter]. Feeling ok, considering I am growing a whole person but looking rougher by the day...

Muser · 14/06/2010 10:25

Fingers crossed for your dad Lyra.

PollyPoo · 14/06/2010 10:33

Will be thinking of you today Lycra. Sending lots of good BESHy vibes to your Pa. x

Now, who will join me in some tequila slammers and pain au chocolate for breakfast?

PerfectDromedary · 14/06/2010 10:38

I hope the news is as good as is humanly possible for PapaLyra.

Tequila & chocolate? Amaretto & pain au chocolat for breakfast for me.

I have lost some weight! Hurrah! But am still miserable and therefore not in the best of moods to post. Pliz to entertain me.

Bessie123 · 14/06/2010 10:41

hmm, well misery does burn up calories...

Well done on losing weight though, that's fast work...

Ocarina · 14/06/2010 10:43

Hope the scan brings good news for your dad Lyra.

I seem to manage to reappear and then disappear again - sorry. We were away for the weekend for me to be Godmother to my friend's little girl and catch up with various uni friends which was great but not very restful.

Holiday on the other hand was v restful, at least when not jetlagged. We flew to Colorado (via a dodgy plane where one engine decided to stop working midair ) and drove from there to San Francisco via lots of lovely places. Was very fun, ate too much food, got sunburnt in the least sunny place (because I gave up on sunscreen, oops), went to 9 national parks. Now feels a long time ago, but at least this morning I might catch up on what you've all been up to.

tagine · 14/06/2010 11:36

Oooh, how much did ya lose Camel?

Bit miserable here too, no good reason why so will shut up.

laurielou · 14/06/2010 11:56

Lyra Thinking of you & PapaLyra. Hope the news is positive, x

aries what a beautiful MIL your sis has . Hope your sis is OK, x

I'm up for tequila & pain au chocolat. Chocolate goes with everything!

Well done on the weight loss drom. I stepped onto the Wii on Sat. Naked, balanced on one leg - only managed to lose 1lb. What's the point in that? So we went out for breakfast & had lovely poached eggs & mushrooms on toasted muffin, nom nom nom.

The boyf & I managed to patch up our almighty row, following our practice run of putting up a tent prior to Glastonbury. He's still a twat, obviously, but I had FFJ so had to bite the bullet & say sorry . I'm now on CD15, have SWI on CD's 9, 11 & 14, so am on course for my enrollment in the mass summer diff project.

oca diffment dates aside we're looking at a fly drive to & around San Franciso. Glad you enjoyed it.

Not much else to report. Have random ache in right hand side. Have decided its either a hernia or appendix (as opposed to some common strain from carrying my lardy arse around).

Muser · 14/06/2010 12:19

Today's symptom spot: funny metallic taste in mouth.

RunLyraRun · 14/06/2010 12:26

Muse that's a proper symptom! Maybe it is your month after all?

Thanks for the CBDs, Bess, will get your email address from one of the BESHes.

I am also miserable as should have been flying to Nice yesterday to meet up with a friend for 5 days of cocktails in the sun. Instead am stuck here in the pouring rain as didn't dare go when dad in hosp. And the flight was non-refundable.

Ariesgirl · 14/06/2010 12:33

Oh Lyra Very sorry for you. What an absolute pisser. Things are always much worse in the rain too I find.

Does anyone else think "vuvuzela" sounds suspiciously like some kind of female medical complaint?

Ariesgirl · 14/06/2010 12:35

Also, I feel for you Lorry. Don't you hate having to apologise when you know you were in the right? And all to get some Secs too. Enjoy Glasters. Hope it doesn't rain too much.

Muser · 14/06/2010 13:48

That sucks Lyra. At least the sun could have stayed out for a tiny bit of compensation.

Ocarina · 14/06/2010 14:03

Lyra that's added rubbishness you didn't need. Can you still manage the cocktails?

laurielou · 14/06/2010 14:30

Lyra that's proper crap.

Muse I've just done a little wee of excitement. Metallic taste - that's a proper, genuine, no shit, honest to goodness symptom!!! WOO HOO!!

Muser · 14/06/2010 14:39

Calm the excitement. I just told MrM about my metallic taste and queasiness and his reply was "oh I've had that too today, wonder if it was something we ate?" Parade totally rained on.

laurielou · 14/06/2010 14:49

Maybe he has sympathy symptoms............

CUNextTuesday · 14/06/2010 15:31

muse I can confirm sympathy symptoms. Every symptom I had, and have, Hom also had/has. It is a competitive thing so they are not left with any chores to do whilst you are incapacitated. This is only the beginning

Muser · 14/06/2010 15:39

Haha. MrM does do sympathy symptoms very well. 9 times out of 10 if I state some kind of ail he will announce he has it to. It is slightly infuriating, as I want sympathy and what I get is "oh yes, me too".

tagine · 14/06/2010 15:46

When can you you-know-what-on-a-stick Musealot? Lycra that's rubbish. How is your Dad doing? I declare it BESH happy hour in your (and his) honour. Everyone get thee to their drinks stash pronto.

Muser · 14/06/2010 15:53

I am on day 23 of a 28 day cycle. There will be no POAS until the droid fails to arrive. Or if droid arrives, POAS will happen once it's gone given my past history of getting droid and still being rubbishly pregnant.

Is an itchy bumpy rash on the inside of my elbow a symptom? Because it's driving me crazy. IT'S VERY ITCHY.

PerfectDromedary · 14/06/2010 16:03

Yes, Muse. On CD23, anything that your body does can be counted as a symptom.

Lyra Pants to missing out on your nice Nice trip. I suspect virtual cocktails aren't going to cut it, but I hope you get glorious summer sunshine and a bottle of something nice later this week.

According to the scales, I have lost about 7 pounds in a week. Obv as any fule kno this is water weight and meaningless. Which probably also proves the ridiculousness of BMI as a way of deciding whether or not I can haz the drucks.

AIBU to be finding it increasingly hard to talk to my (much-beloved) mother, who keeps trying to make me put a brave face on things?

cuuuuuuuuuuuuuunty Hello! Any sign of baby as yet?

ChoChoSan · 14/06/2010 16:17

Hafternoon Beshtards!

Bllleeurggggh...of sick today with narsty cold and bad chest, so sofabound for't afternoon. Already munched my way through fruit gums, s and v, and a mars bar ice cream...because we have been away the past few weekends we haven't had our veg box delivered, and therefore I am eating a really crappy diet...must ditch carbs - too much white pap!!

Muser....sounds exciting - SYMPTOMMMMZZZ!!!!! i am going to start whittling that wooden spoon now - pink or blue ribbon? Also...I only ever had allergic reactions to shiz when diffed, so yes, you can tick the itchy elbow as a symptom

Ocs welcome back from the USA, and love to Lyra, sounds like you could really have done with your break away

ChoChoSan · 14/06/2010 16:19

7 pounds???? Are you kidding Drom...you can't try to convince us that's all water sistah....unless you really expect us to believe you is storing H2O in that hump of yours...

tagine · 14/06/2010 16:31

SEVEN POUNDS? IN A WEEK???

How?!?!?!?!?!?

Pliz to tell!

Sorry Muse. So you had blood tinged FFJ on day 22 and you've had funny intermittent bitter / odd taste in your mouth? I has reached mine own conclusion

Medal hope it goes well at docs tomorrow.
