BESH is BACK for Spring. Come in, admire the cocktail bar stylings I have created for you. It's all lowlights and smooth sounds, and there's a rehearsal room in back for the GLEE practice.

The barman are beautiful, the Pit has been well stocked with beanbags and gin. So roll up all you 30-something BESHies who stopped counting cycles sometime in the last century, and grab a martini.

Eeek, I restart work again tomorrow. Am worried, cos at least half of the job is physical and Bossfriend is absolutely useless at both having sympathy AND being organised and taking up the slack. She often goes off at the busiest time of the day for a couple of hours - literally walking out telling me her plans as I'm doing stuff and can't protest - and leaves me doing such a mountain of stuff that I feel faint with exertion. I have warned her I mustn't be left alone or shouldn't do mucho physical stuff but she says she understands and then does the same old shit (have had this issue with her before when have had sprained knee, crippling period pains, etc.). She's so fucking disorganised and ends up having to leave me alone to deal with too much for one person cos she can't get her act together Don't want to explicitly explain job here, but the nature of the work is that I can't not do it if I'm there, IYKWIM (no, am not a hooker). And if I ask her not to go off to do stuff (say if there's just too much for me to do alone or I feel ill), she gets really angry and shouty and creates a terrible atmosphere and still goes off anyway!

Must stop fretting and see how it goes. For all I know, she'll be really cool about it and the day won't be busy anyway. Doesn't help though, that other friend, who is super-human farm girl type, keeps saying things like 'I was back doing karate 10 days after having the twins by c-section!' thereby making me look like Master of The Puniverse for feeling a bit meh and following proper medical advice (which is actually not to do my sort of work for 3 weeks anyway!). I don't get paid if I don't work and there's no cover available for me so have no choice.

Sorry I moan on sooooooooo fucking much about such crap. Thanks for putting up with me guys

Casserole · 02/06/2010 23:54

Just slipping in to leave another sack of Twirls for Laurie in case she happens by. Been thinking of you.

ginhag · 03/06/2010 07:12

lorry sweetheart sorry I missed your post (there were feckin paaaages to catch up on!) and so sorry about the bastard droid. You are just so ace that you have always been a ray of sunshine in the palace despite having been on The World's Crappest Rollercoaster (tm) for 3 bloody years. I heart you very much.

scorps I hope your day is better than anticipated...I know that it can go either way at any time with Mental Boss Lady. I hope she is nice to you. And the sunshine may lure punters away from the brothel so you may not have to turn as many tricks as usual

I have realised,in stark contrast with other beshes, that in order to conceive I must stay up late, and generally partake of a few drinks. Am tired....

ginhag · 03/06/2010 07:16

Oh and muse of course. Dodgy home made brandy for everyone !!! it's de rigeur in Moscow from about 8 am...

[these russians are crazy emoticon]

PollyPoo · 03/06/2010 08:28

Oh bum, am I too late for Gin bundle? Of course we missed you luvver. Home made brandy for breakfast? I think I might like Russia.

Today I am off to visit a friend with yard full of horses. Boo is very excited by this. I am teaching her to say 'Daddy I want pony' (mostly so I can play 'my little pony' again, only with a real live on this time).

Have a good day BESHies!

laurielou · 03/06/2010 08:52

PollyPoo · 03/06/2010 09:33

Headbanger · 03/06/2010 10:01

GIIIIIIINNNN!!!!!!

Yeah like, you know. Glad you're back and stuff.

Score duckie, hope today goes ok. I don't know how you do it. I can't bear my own BFF for longer than 24 hours, max. You must have the patience of a saint.

Lovely to see you, to see you lovely, LorrieLou. Here's to you clambering out of the pit, rubbing yourself down with sandalwood oil, and leaping on your better half with lustful intent . I do think there are good things about SWIing in the summer...

Scorpette · 03/06/2010 10:04

Thanks guys - am so that I always freak out over everything... and blurt it out on here! Am feeling okay (although I woke up with a headache - great) and am sure today will be fine. Gin, perhaps you could come round to the brothel so I can wave to you from behind the bars of my room? And Lol, if you can drag yourself out from the pit, you can have a freebie And you, Pol. And, and, okay, okay, freebies for all! Just watch me stitches!

Laters, my dahlinks! Luff you all xxxx

PerfectDromedary · 03/06/2010 11:02

Not really here, very busy, love you all.

GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN lozza Glad to see you climbing out of the pit, lovely.

Muser · 03/06/2010 13:07

'it was the BESHt of times,it was the worst of times, it was the age of rummaging in gussets, it was the age of drinking gin, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, it was the epoch of random violence,it was the epoch of joe mangel.'

to really badly paraphrase dickens.

Headbanger · 03/06/2010 13:24
ginhag · 03/06/2010 13:41

Kind of tailed off at the end there. I was multitasking (appallingly)

Ariesgirl · 03/06/2010 13:44

Gin I adore that. It must be so.

God you lot are so well read compared to me. For someone who did English A Level (and did quite well I might add ) I am appallingly ignorant of literature and freely admit to never having read a whole Dickens novel. I can quote passages from Rosumunde Pilcher novels though.

Nice to see you back from the frozen steppes. What was it like?

Headbanger · 03/06/2010 13:46

Aries have you read September? 'Tis one of the books I read in the bath when I'm sad. Well, it was until my sister took it to Australia, the wretch.

Besides, the only decent novel Dickens wrote was The Sale of Two Titties

Ariesgirl · 03/06/2010 13:51

September isn't the best one. Oh no. Have you read Coming Home? It's my ill, sad book. I read it to my sister when she was ill and at the end there's a letter which is written by an Australian woman to the sister of a child she has looked after in a Japanese camp. The last line is "Take care of our little sister" and my voice cracked as I read it and we both burst out weeping! My eyes are filling up even as I'm typing.

I'm possibly premenstrual. Which sucks.

Headbanger · 03/06/2010 14:00

Do you know I think I have but I'm not sure...I'd better read it again! I love September 'cos I'm in love with the Scottish Highlands and have been there so often that reading the book feels like closing my eyes and whumph there I am in a glen, wrapped in a woollen coat, looking up at the immense house on the hillside where lights are burning in the window and they're getting ready for a party ...

My life sucks. I want to live in an R Pilcher novel

Ariesgirl · 03/06/2010 14:03

Me too. They're all so rich and say things like "too too beastly".

You must read Coming Home again. It will make you want to move to west Cornwall immediately.

Casserole · 03/06/2010 14:06

Aries it ain't so till it's so my luvver. Tho I thought the same about meself this morning....

So here's a technical question. If I am not diffed I may well meet ze droid this weekend. I'm meant to be having my Day 2 bloods. If I start Friday is it better to go Friday (ie day 1) or Monday (ie Day 4)

Any ideas?
