BESH is BACK for Spring. Come in, admire the cocktail bar stylings I have created for you. It's all lowlights and smooth sounds, and there's a rehearsal room in back for the GLEE practice.

The barman are beautiful, the Pit has been well stocked with beanbags and gin. So roll up all you 30-something BESHies who stopped counting cycles sometime in the last century, and grab a martini.

Headbanger · 27/05/2010 15:54

Scorpette, he OBJECTS to what you say. Good work!

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 16:13

Hah! Talk about BESH solidarity - now 'Streme is verbally bringing the pain to TYF's younger brother for not liking The Smiffs!

Bangers, as we say round here 'if you can't tek it, don't mek it'. He is so infantile and bourgeois! I feel like saying 'hey, don't worry - the need to bandy about meaningless pretentious theory terms does fade away with age'! Gin - are you a master of the 'I know you are, but what am I?'? Your wind-ups are a joy to behold.

Oh God, he's getting Derrida all wrong now - where do you find these people, B? I'm scared he's going to make me bust my stitches laughing!

I too have been telling peeps about my joy for the delectable AyersAndGraces. Is that wrong?

Headbanger · 27/05/2010 16:15

...crying with laughter...

PerfectDromedary · 27/05/2010 16:15

You lot are so meta - arguing on FB, discussing the argument on MN - pliz to tell me you're emailing each other about it also.

Gin You have clearly learned a lot from arguing with a toddler...and it's working for you.

ginhag · 27/05/2010 16:18

cam yep indeedy. Mails have been sent

Headbanger · 27/05/2010 16:18

Sorry, cross post. I actually sent him a private message explaining why I was laughing so hard. Poor little bugger. I suspect he is literally JUST out of university. You can spot it a mile off - just regurgitating all the lovely clever long words they've been taught without actually thinking for themselves.

I have NO IDEA who he is! He's the pal of my niece and added me having seen me fight with someone over polly ticks. Teach me to be so generous on FB.

You're amazing. Just for the record.

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 16:32

No, you're amazing!

Am I allowed to cut and paste his explanation of Deconstructionism to send to my friend who's nearly finished her Critical Theory PhD? She could do with a laugh.

Camisole, that's cos we is so 3008 and he's so 2000-and-late, innit?

Headbanger · 27/05/2010 16:37

Why does he keep saying "DeconstructionISM"? I had a vague sense of unease about it but it took Camelly to point out he's not even fucking saying it right!

Poor sap. Wondered helplessly into a nest of literary vipers. It's been a BEAUTIFUL afternoon.

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 16:47

I said 'deconstructionism' back at him cos I thought it'd be impossible to explain to him on how many levels he's dense but am scared I now too look a pompous arse who doesn't know what's what

Will I have to give back my Critical Theory membership card?

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 16:49

"Critical Theory - ur doin it rong"

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 16:50

I was going to listen to my new Zita West Preconception relaxation CD bobbins but being a smartarse bitch is far more life-affirming

RunLyraRun · 27/05/2010 16:54

I knew it should be "150 years' time". Other than that, I understood not one word. I bloody loved the Weather Project in the turbine hall - does that mean I agree with that nobber??

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 17:00

Only if you are very thick and very immature, neither of which you are The guy is simultaneously trying to be v pro-modern art and general grooviness whilst seemingly insisting that there can be no ambiguity in personal perception/opinion or professional criticism and getting critical theory all wrong as he goes about it.

The former seems to be a youthful attempt at being edgy and kewl, the latter pure, unadulterated fucktardery.

ginhag · 27/05/2010 17:12

Sorry I got a bit left behind by you towering giants of intellect...also the sun is shining and I didn't really,y'know, care

And no one took my posts seriously

I felt sorry for him in the end. Poor kid.

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 17:21

Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Have started bleeding down there! Dunno if it's Lap-linked (have been getting a bit of spotting, as expected) or if it's triggered off an early Droid - droid not due to next Tues. or Wed.

Poor MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

PerfectDromedary · 27/05/2010 17:29

But shurely this means that you can start swiving earlier? And are you more fertile after a lap? It was definitely suggested that one is more fertile after an hsg; as if all one's bits have been spring-cleaned...

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 17:38

Good point. I had a Lap n Dye* which is basically the same as having a HSG whilst under anaesthetic and I know it's meant to clean out your tubes good n proppah BUT I'm not allowed to make a sex for a few weeks Or maybe I need to ring the Day Case Unit and check that - why do they tell you all the info you need when you're still woozy and monged out from the sedation?

I dunno if I can cope with the existing tum pain as well as period pains (seeing as they could find no reason for them and therefore not help me ). BOOHOO! No likey.

Am now starting to worry that maybe TYF has some minute spunkular issue, even though his test said he was tip-top. Or, as he would gently remind me, maybe I always need something to feel panicky about

*As opposed to a lap and die, which is what consumers of the sex industry should receive, ho ho.

Medee · 27/05/2010 17:57

I was so confused until I realised it wasn;t a MN thread you were talking about.

Thanks for all the advise on the creamy pant snot (it wasn't that thick but it was slightly yellow) but as I am slightly spotting right now, I think your lovely good wishes will unfortunately come to naught. Was planning on testing Saturday, as I have a big work thing tomorrow morning, and didn't want the mental distraction of a test result. I am 14 dpo, so pretty sure it is droid. V

Medee · 27/05/2010 17:58

gah, advice!

Hope the bleeding passes soon, Scorp.

Ariesgirl · 27/05/2010 18:22

Must rush over and read what has occurred in my absence this afternoon. I had to leave and go to work after saying "art is rubbish".

CurlyCasper · 27/05/2010 18:32

Just had to pop in to say bravo BESHs! That debate made my afternoon. I didn't understand half of it, but it amused me nonetheless. And I reckon 82 must be some sort of record.

Ariesgirl · 27/05/2010 18:39

Certainly must be. They lost me very quickly and I wish I'd understood the humour, but then again I have other talents . Boy does that kid take himself seriously.

Ariesgirl · 27/05/2010 19:21

What can I make for tea? Something EASY? This is a daily problem.

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 19:38

CHIPPY CHIPS!

Scorpette · 27/05/2010 19:40

Disclaimer: I haven't had chips from a chippy in over a year. God, I want chips sooooooo much. Erm, this isn't helping you, Girl'sWorld. Stir fry? Omelette? Ready meal?
