OOoooo Feeling super-excited for cupcake

4ever Your baby girl is so pretty! And what a lovely lovely name you've given her.

vjay I'm a newbie. Put me out my misery: what IS vejazzling? And is your little Jack Russell steadier on his pins today?

PFJ I am so sorry you had to go into the hospital, but you totally did the right thing. I agree with QA that them not giving you a blood test is ridiculous. In fact, I feel a bit about that. You're not "mental" at all. You've had a horrible tough time that anyone would find difficult to get over; in fact, I think you did extremely well to overcome your fears last night and get to hospital in spite of them and in spite of again being in a very stressful situation yet again.

I think jools makes a very good point about depression. It really is insidious and dangerous and creeps up on you. Like Jools, I didn't fully appreciate how bad things had got until I was out the other side looking back. Please tell us how you're feeling and coping and keep talking. Big hug hun. I'm so sorry.

monkey I'm sorry you're dealing with more stress on top of everything you've been through. Honest answer, I don't know how long it will take to before you stop feeling unable to cope under stress. I hope you aren't thinking things like 'I should be OK by now' because that would be putting more stressful pressure on yourself. Be kind to yourself and only take small steps - one small step at a time within one day at a time - rather than the big picture. Slow painful progress is still progress. xxx

MLS Mooncup diameter is half the size of the softcup (I have one of those and it doesn't scare me - this one does! ) But apparently it holds what the right stuff right next to the cervix. That link you gave - how on earth to I swing that one past my DH? Any tips?

Thanks for your supportive comments girls. You are all so sweet and very understanding.

I seem to like making plans to this is my new and final plan:

  1. To stop pyscho-analysing myself every 5 minutes, and to stop trying to listen to my body.
  2. To know that I am not pregnant, and to wait patiently for my period to appear.
  3. To see the doctor on the 16th for chat about all this, clomid and to get some general advice and a check up.
  4. To now find a diversion. I have several paintings unfinished in my dining room, I have some nursery drawers I bought at a car boot that could do with painting with clouds etc on perhaps, and I have been brewing a song for a dance/trance track in my mind for the last 10 years now, soooo ...and this should be hilarious to see how long I last at this.... I will download a mixer and attempt to put my catchy tune down so I can hear it! Well.. at least it will keep me busy eh??

Right thats enough about me, I have been filling up this poor thread FAR too much lately. But I could never have gotten through this without you all. I shall now cheer on cupcake
Go cupcake! Go cupcake! It's a birthday! It's a birthday!!
(dances)

And give you all a massive hug and stuff your faces with yet more of my homemade gooey brownies!

Love xxx

4ever so lovely to see you back and so happy.

Back for more later- bit busy at the mo - can't think why!!

ThePFJ · 04/06/2010 13:54

MLS Yes my boobs still ache and seem to be busting out of my bra, my favourite bra broke an underwire this morning, and I won't be able to buy a new one for a week or so.... I am still having hot flushes, and I felt properly sick this morning!! Still no Aunt Flo. But maybe the doc will be able to help to explain why my body is going crazy on the 16th. Hopefully all this will have gone away by then!

bluesatinsash · 04/06/2010 14:35

PFJ - glad you have a distraction plan, espeically the recording a song one . you must be going demented though . Spill it all out here OK?

Vjay - ajay is getting so big and still gorgeous . Your pooch is lovely too, I just want to tickle his tummy and see his wee leg do that spasm thing..

News from bluetowers is that Ben slept from 7pm to 6am last night - yes you heard right - 7pm - 6am . He woke twice but fell back asleep . I of course was wide awake all twitchy waiting for him to stir again but na da, sandman city and I've had the best sleep since, err last summer probably. 5 months and 11 days and he slept through the night - maybe a fluke but he can do it!

SabsFabulous · 04/06/2010 15:22

Hello ladies, just a quick one from me but had to to post to say good luck to cupcake! Really hope the Indian remedies to induce labour naturally helped! Has anyone heard from her?

Also wanted to send a hug to pfj You're not mental at all. Having a mc makes us overanalyse everything, we've all been there. I would love a brownie thanks . I added you on FB using the email address that gracie forwarded. Hopefully I have the right person. Once (if!) you accept me, I'll suggest the other ladies on here who are also on facebook

Hi to justshaggy Its lovely when new people join us. Stick around!

Fingers crossed for you QA that this is the month for you

bakingqueen sorry to hear that you're going through a rough time. Hopefully see you back on here soon

vjay sorry to hear about your dog. Beautiful pic of ajay

blue YAY to B sleeping through the night. Hopefully its not a one-off and its a start of a new routine!

Sorry for more lack of personals

Ladies, I have a dilemma that I would like your help with. Saara's developed quite a bad cold (the night I went to watch SATC so feeling very guilty anyway about having a night out ). We were up all night with her, as she couldnt sleep as she had a high temperature (the warm night didnt help). I rang the GP who said it sounds like a cold, which will take 3-5 days to run its course, but to carry on doing what I'm doing with her (i.e. giving kids neurofen, checking temp, saline nose drops etc) and if she gets any worse, to take her to the walkin clinic. But tomorrow I have a wedding to go to, which is 2-3 hours away but I'll be gone the whole day. The plan anyway was that DH was going to take care of her, and he still thinks I should go, but I feel so guilty about leaving her when she's ill. She's fine with DH, but I've never left her for a whole day, and I know I'll just be thinking about her the whole time. The cousin who's getting married is quite a good friend and I hate cancelling on people, though I do have a good reason. What should I do ladies

Sorry for the me post

QuestionsAgain · 04/06/2010 15:25

pfj sounds like a good plan, it is always good to have something else to focus on. An appointment with the doctor is good, have a think about what you want to happen when you go so you can make sure you get what you want out of the appointment. I always come away feeling slightly disappointed and not listened to.

Blue that's amazing, well done little Ben Gives you hope doesn't it?!

Right the sweepstake, can I
make it 3 wins in a row?

QuestionsAgain · 04/06/2010 15:31

Sorry xposted Sabs,

Well the two options I would go with are to take her to the walk in clinic this evening to just get her checked to reassure you that it is just a cold and not on her chest or anything and then if it is a cold then go, she will be fine with DH, though I completely understand you will still be worried about her.

Or, you could see how she gets on tonight and see how she is in the morning , she may be a lot better, but if still not better and you don't feel comfortable going then phone and cancel. they will understand.

these things always happen when you have a special event planned Hope she is better soon.

cupcakefairy · 04/06/2010 15:36

thepfj you poor love you are not mental. Keep an eye on that shoulder pain. They really could have done more for you. Nature has a way of messing with our heads, so who knows where that bfp or AF is hiding x

I am so sorry I didn't welcome justshaggy I think you'll fit right in here

Sabs of course you should go to the wedding. Your dh can call if she gets worse. Just leave him all the relevant nhsdirect etc numbers and hound him for updates. It will be cooler tomorrow btw which I'm sure will help x

Cupcake glad you managed to post. Well if the labour has started naturally I'm sure the pessary will give you the boost your body needs & hopefully it won't be a very long labour. It's going to be a long night for all of us as I, for one, will be lurking as late tonight & as early tomorrow as possible!

Errrrrr QA you neglected to say whether you thought she was going to have a boy or girl!

Blue isn't it irritating that you spend all your time trying to get them to sleep all night & when they do you are awake worrying that there is something wrong with them.

Sabs definitely go to the wedding. When your child is ill it's the worst thing in the world as you never imagine its something trivial & in the back of your mind you always think the worst. Try to relax & keep telling yourself that it's just a cold & she'll be better before you know it. Make sure she's just in her nappy if she's really hot & did you know that you can give them nurofen followed by calpol two hours later & nurofen two hours after that again until they have had the maximum dose of each for the day? Oh & put a towel under the head end of her mattress & these are really good for getting the gunk out.

QuestionsAgain · 04/06/2010 17:27

cupcake The pessary will hopefully all you need to give things a nudge along. So excited for you

MLS Can't believe I forgot to put boy or girl!
Looking at the list there has been 6 boys and 8 girls born on the the thread so far, so using that as my scientific data I will go for boy! I have been a geek reorganised the list in to boy and girl predictions and put them in weight order so it will be easier to see I have won again

pfj - boy 7lb 10oz
barbie - boy 7lb 15oz

Just looked at cupcake's recent bump picture, it is so neat that my prediction is probably way out and she is more likely to have a cute small bundle than my predicted whopper!

VJay · 04/06/2010 17:49

Hello

cupcake you haven't got us all excited for nothing, babycupcake is nearly here, and I have made some lemon cupcakes today in your honour, they are yummuy, I have put lemon softcheese icingy stuff on top yum yum

blue well done to B sleeping through the night, long may it last

sabs poor Saara having a cold, re the wedding, she will probably feel a bit better tomorrow anyway and she will be fine with your DH, so I would go
