barbie1 · 02/06/2010 07:18

ThePFJ · 02/06/2010 07:29

Morning...

No period still. And no miracle early post delivery for me. Boobs still sore, felt sick this morning....
I tell you what though, if I am not preggars this is costing me a fortune in pregnacare vitamins! (I have been taking them since my last period)

My hayfever is really bad at the moment too, I have been suffering for weeks and I am so afraid to take anything for it. Have any of you girls got it? And if so can you take anything while you perhaps maybe with baby??

I'll put the kettle on for everyone, help yourselves to a cup. xxx

monkeybumsmum · 02/06/2010 07:35

barbie

Good morning! Hope everyone's well this morning, and that we are a little closer to having another cyber niece or nephew How are you doing Cupcake?

Am off out now but shall be back later! Oh, btw Barbie re bottles, I gave ds cooled boiled water from 7 weeks, as it was hot here too (not as hot as with you though!) and he loved it. Put my mind at rest that he wasn't going to get dehydrated, and it didn't seem to make a difference to his feeding. Hope D's okay, and that you're both managing to stay cool. Thanks re dress, but makes me think of the words pot, kettle and black you look stunning in all the pics I've seen of you!

Right, must go, have a good day all x

ps MLS can't find an acupuncturist near me, but am going to reflexology every week, so am hopin it's helping. The guy I used to go to is in Brussels, and I'm not able to get there between my work and having to collect ds from school. Wish I could as am pretty sure it would help...

ThePFJ · 02/06/2010 07:35

Cupcake - I think the 2nd of June is a really nice date for a baby... don't you agree?

barbie1 · 02/06/2010 07:47

i agree pfj!

no idea re hayfever but im sure there must be some natural remedy out there.....im REALLY REALLY excited for you! (not that fact you have hayfever but might be preggers )

monkey you are very kind and blind also photoshop on the mac is very good, i can airbrush and cut myself out of all the bad pics! Thanks for the advice re water too. I shall keep on with it....

ThePFJ · 02/06/2010 07:47

And while you are all waiting for cupcake to pop... Here's something Jack and I watch together. He loves to dance to it and sing along. Although his singing is more of a tuneful hooting!!

here

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do....

MummyLovesSadie · 02/06/2010 07:51

Hello Barbie.

ThePFJ · 02/06/2010 08:23

Oh gods I feel soooo sick. Must drink water and not empty my tummy....

I have to get ready for our trip today. I'll keep the thread open as I get ready in case there is any news.... argh...

littlebellsmum · 02/06/2010 08:28

morning! Another on the cupcake vigil this morning!!

BabyJ has fed and is back to sleep again - we seem to have got nights a bit sorted, I go to bed at 9, Daddy does a bottle at 11am and then shes mine again untill the morning. She wakes a few times in the night, gets food and the last two nights has gone back into her basket each time, only needing to be in bed with me after the third waking, when I give up!

Got a message from 4ever the other day - she is finding feeding a bit of a struggle but perevering as they are really want it to work and will be back to post as soon as she can.

neeko I had all three dc's to myself for most of yesterday which was an interesting challenge. They were all pretty good untill lunchtime when the older ones got a bit bolshy and tiddler got a bit grizzly. However, having a 5 year old to hold a grouchy baby is fab when you are trying to make their lunch! Then resorted to bribery of the older two - if they are good for the whole week, then they have a nice present sitting on top of the kitchen cupboards!! I will try and upload a photo now.

PFJ good luck with the tests, hope they arrive soon

Morning! to MLS, Barbie, curly and monkey. The sun is shining here and so, it's outside for the dc's today - hurrah!!

Joolsiam · 02/06/2010 08:55

Morning all

I've actually had FIVE whole nights at home and caught up finally with housework (well almost) and feel like I live here again Got a day actually in my local office, within walking distance so I may be heading home early to enjoy the sunshine

Am on Cupcake watch too and cheering PFJ on from the sidelines. I remember taking my (now 15 year old) nephew to see Thomas when he was 2.5 - will never forget the look of wonder on his face. Enjoy

Thanks for the text Monkey - will take a look this morning

Have a good day everyone

bluesatinsash · 02/06/2010 09:52

Morning from bluetowers

cupcake - praying and praying babycupcake gets a move on. No matter how he/she gets here whether it be two pushes on gas and air or 36 hours and emergency c-section - the second you lock eyes with her/him it will cease to matter . COME ON!!!!!

Happy 9 months Ajay - he's bene here for as long as you were pg with him Vjay! PFJ - enjoy Thomas and eeeep! re: pg....

Neeko - yay! a two handed post from you . So proud of your determination to keep up with the bottland its so paying off.

MLS - sorry to hear you've had thrush - yuk. Not long til your wafting around Florida in your pg kaftan .

barbie - we had a much better night last night . I went to bed at 8.30pm and B woke at 12.30am for feed then that was him until.......6AM!!! . He stirred at 4am but put himself back to sleep!! We were all set you do pick up/put down from Baby Whisperer but it wasn't needed - yay! DH and me feel so refreshed today.. I've never given water but probably would if I lived in Dubai!

LBM - sounds like babyJ is doing great and well done for her settling back in moses basket. B just refused to hence the 3 months of co-sleeping with me but you know I really think it helped him adjust to this crazy old world and he moved to his cot no problem at all..

QA - fingers crossed for you msbroody

moon and Jools - for CD1 we are all so rotting for you both and willing a BFP...

monkey - hi honey! How are you feeling a few weeks down the line? Are you feeling a bit more like 'you' again? hoe your AF returns soon so you can at least bookmark your cycle and tentatively beging to think about ttc... xx

4ever - if you're lurking, the first 10 days of BF are just agony as they latch on but if you can curl up your toes and chomp down on stick it does get so much easier. Sending big hugs xx

Annie - posted on FB but happy big 40 again!! Loved your Edinburgh phots

(Sabsfab* - Saara is just so edible and you dress her so well . How was soft play?

Buddha - how's tricks? Hope you are savouring your last few weeks pre-work. I've only got 5 weeks left myself .

curly - we're missing a mammoth curlypost. Hope Grace is going form strength to strength.

My friend who had her baby boy at 25 weeks gestation got him home last week . she posted a photo of him on FB and he is just perfect. He's technically 15 weeks old but developmentally a newborn so needs lots of tlc... Its a miracle he is still here and I'm so cuffed and happy for her.

Right off to get dressed whilst B naps x

iggypiggy · 02/06/2010 09:58

Morning everyone!

So sorry for the AF arrival for moon and jools but now it's a brand new month - and this could be THE month for both of you xx

pfj am getting v. excited for you - by the way - I have read in quite a few places that pregnacare can make you feel more sick. So if you switch to another vitamin/ folic acid thing, you may feel better - mine was sanatogen.

monkey I too have everything crossed that you get an easy bfp xx

Welcome justshaggy

Am also lurking for cupcake news - hope everything has started for you!

barbie I have no real moving news... our house is under offer, but we haven't yet found anywhere to live! And I meant to say - your swimming pics of your lo are totally cute

waves to everyone else!

VJay · 02/06/2010 10:14

Morning, have had a quick scan of the posts

cupcake I really hope you are contracting now

pfj I'm getting excited for you

I've taken my little dog to the vets today, he's having a GA and getting Xrays on his leg and his teeth cleaned. The vet has just phoned and said they've detected a heart murmer and he may have a leaky valve, so he's having a heart scan now too. Am a bit worried about him . Will keep you posted.

barbie1 · 02/06/2010 11:04

vjay fingers crossed for your little doggy on the up side i have a heart condition and im still here .....One hand fingers crossed for the dog, the other for cupcake to give birth today and my toes crossed for pfj jools and moon to get bfp soon...have i forgotten anything? Ill keep my legs crossed just in case!

loueytbg · 02/06/2010 11:25

Warning, mammoth post alert.....

cupcake am feeling soooo frustrated for you - you've had such a long wait. But, babycupcake will be here soon, and hopefully today. 2nd June is a nice birth date Midwife doesn't know everything, you could just as easily have text book birth. And blue is absolutely right, it all won't matter once babycupcake is born.

4ever - huge congrats to you and Mr4ever on baby Summer . Can't wait to hear the birth story, it sounds epic . Re the feeding, I remember it well, it is very hard in the early days. Keep going but if it isn't working, don't beat yourself up about it. The most important thing is that Summer is happy and you are happy and if it means you switch to bottles then that's the right thing to do xxxxxx.

PFJ - am bursting with excitement about your (hopefully) BFP. I am a bit like MLS in that I also line up my tests (although not on the windowsill) and try and see if they are getting darker. Hope your FRER turns up soon. I have also found these the best early tests to use. I suffer from hayfever (although it hasn't yet been too bad this summer) and weirdly a cup of coffee first thing in the morning cuts out a lot of the worst symptoms. Depends on whether you are happy to drink coffee during PG (or even if you like it!). I assume its the caffeine in it that helps. I'm sure Jack will love the Thomas engine.

Barbie - awww look at her in that towel. So cute. Can't imagine having to deal with that heat with a little one - yes you can give cooled bottled water. Mind you, my two didn't like it all and DS2 still won't drink water.

MrsKate - sounds like you've had quite a time with poorly Jack. I hope he's on the mend now. NHS direct can be very hit and miss, I think your instincts mean that you know when they are talking bollocks and that you need to bypass and go straight to walk-in/hospital.

MLS - bronchitis - poor you, you have been in the wars recently. I guess your lungs are still a bit upset from the pneumonia. I don't think I've been on since your 20wk scan, I'm so pleased and relieved that everything is ok. Just need to get you well now.

VJay - Ajay standing up already - wow. You will have a little walker soon! Am envious of all you baking queens, although I did make a white chocolate cheesecake over the weekend. I'm sorry about your little dog, hope the scan goes ok.

Moon - I'm sorry about CD1 . Bleurgh.

Jools - you too. CD1 sucks . Especially when you are TTC. Glad you've had a few settled days at home and seduction weekend sounds like a wonderful idea .

Neeko - hope you are starting to win the battle with H and the bottle. Its really difficult when they won't take it.

Monkey - hope you get your AF soon, 8 weeks is a long time to wait. Difficult decision to make re IVF - I have a friend who had 5 mc's due to blood clotting issues and prob immune issues too. In the end had IVF and has a lovely healthy DD as a result. She didn't find it easy though and was on steroids too which made her feel quite ill. She had her 2nd DD naturally without any problems.

LBM - not sure I've said but Joanna is a lovely name. Mind you, I'm biased, its also my sister's name Well done on coping with all 3 on your own. So lovely that DD1 can help out.

Sabs - how was soft play?? Yay to Saara standing and holding on. She will be cruising before you know it.

Curly - how are you and curlygirl doing??

Gracie - I'm lost - has the christening happened already? If not, then I like the idea of putting Isabelle into the old gown first and then changing her later on.

Iggy - how are you doing, now you're nearly the next to give birth. Eek!

QA - how long are you going to hold out before we drive you to you test? Have fx crossed.

Buddha - Cheese scones - yay. Michael Buble - boo. I don't understand the fascination with him at all .

Blue - I'm glad you had a fab girlies night and DH let you lounge. Sounds blissful (very jealous as no lounging going on in our house....) I'm sure your mojo will be back in no time .

Annie hope you had a fab 40th. 40 is the new 30 don't ya know. That's what I will be trying to convince myself saying in a few years time

Waves a big welcoming hello to justshaggy and anyone else I might have missed.

AFM - well I'm sorry I've been awol. First doing DS1's request for statutory assessment (Vjay - did you do this for your DS1?), then laptop died so no access to internet at home apart from via phone which is a nightmare to post from. So I've been reading but haven't been able to do a proper post until back in the office. In amongst all that, we switched the DTs into beds from cots and we've all had very little sleep. The joys of twins - chasing each other around upstairs, and discovering them in the shower, wardrobe, and drawing on the bedroom door. I have been so ready to kill them on several occasions this weekend. They now have a gate across their bedroom (we have sooo many stair gates in our house) and I've put some old, thicker curtains up in their room to try and send them off to sleep earlier (they were running riot until it went dark). Last night was better - managed to get them both asleep by 8.10 although DS1 had switched beds and was fast asleep with DS2 in his bed. Very cute. We have also just switched to a childminders as of yesterday so its been a lot of changes to deal with.

Oh and it looks as though TTC#3 is back on again Not sure what has changed really but no protection being used and DH has made vague comments in relation to changing cars "depending on what happens". This is his code for "if we have another one". So currently I'm in 2ww but not holding my breath this month as timing wasn't good and I'm not 100% sure about the +OPK (it was borderline). Next cycle though I'm going to turn into Miss Temptress

Phew! Told you it would be long didn't I.

I will send my details to the emmsy's email address because I would love to see pics of Baby Summer. And I'm on FB - how do I find you all on there?

cupcakefairy · 02/06/2010 11:26

Hello ladies, sorry I didn't get a chance to get back on last night and update.

We went to the hospital yesterday and everything absolutely fine- scan, fluid volume, blood flow through cord, placenta etc and heart trace. Consultant said absolutely nothing at risk and v happy baby so he has let me put induction back to Friday. He also said he didn't agree with mw that baby was OP (back to back) which was a slight relief. I then spoke to my Mum's v good friend who is a mw & she was really encouraging- all 4 of her children were OP and she said 'if a shorty like me can do it you'll be fine!' she told me to do lot of swivelling on my birth ball to get head onto cervix, and once again to have sex. So felt quite buoyant last night but again...NOTHING in the night. And nothing this morning.

I know it's true that it's the end result that matters but I just feel so desperate and tearful and upset by the whole thing. I was already scared stiff about having to relive some of the medical management trauma, and about PND, now if I end up on labour ward instead of MLU it's all a hundred times worse. Ok now I'm crying again...I need to stop being so pathetic!

Thanks for all being so lovely and keen to hear news; sorry it's such a long and boring wait

justshaggy hello thanks for the link; do come join us..I promise I'm not always this self involved!!

jools and moon so sorry for CD1 more dirty weekends away needed!!

Vjay hope your poor doggy is ok.

MLS actually one of my NCT friends is an acupuncturist maybe I should get her over here!

Neeko great news about the bottle

PFJ got my fingers crossed too great sign that af is still keeping away.

Sorry to not add more personals but thanks again so much everyone for being so lovely.

loueytbg · 02/06/2010 14:00

Oh cupcake - here is my hand to hold. I'm not surprised you're weebling in the circumstances. You're fed up, hormonal and just want to meet your baby girl. I wish there was something more I could do. I never had this stage as being pg with twins they were always going to be early and I was always likely to have a cs. Good news that everything is ok though and they will let you wait a bit longer. Friday is still 2 days away, plenty of time for babycupcake to get her arse in gear moving.

justshaggy · 02/06/2010 14:23

cupcake hi there. I'm glad the meeting with the consultant went well. And my heart goes out to you. I'm not great at dealing with uncertainty and it seems to me your midwife has put a possiblity in your head that will keep creeping back in and clouding out the positive stuff. I think the one thing to hang onto right now is the CERTAINTY you have; and that is that your little one is right now very happy and totally fine and no risk. That's fabulous and its a fact. She's waiting with you. You must be as self-involved as you like - honestly: if you can't be now then when can you be?

loueytbg twins. wow.

vjay do give news of your little dog. I refer to my cats as my 'furr-kids' so totally know the anxiety that these beloved little things can provoke in us.

barbie are you in Aus? Can't remember despite all my lurking. If so, I'm envious of the heat. I'm a southern hemisphere gal myself living in scotalnd and despite it apparently being warm today, I have a log-fire going in my study. And WRT your embarressment about 'everyone on musmnet reading this thread' ... oh, you have no idea, its so much worse! I think I've stalked people onto this thread dying to know how they are .... how creepy is that!

monkey I have to blush - - YOU I stalked over here when you disappeared from another thread ... I came looking for you to see how you were. Was so moved and impressed by the amazing support you got from everyone, but god girl! YOU impress me. So brave. Pleased to see you thinking of ttc again.

PFJ fingers crossed for you. Am I right in thinking that you and MLS are serial testers? I am trying so hard not to do that this time around after getting an evaporation line last month I can't help myself from being swept up into other people's tests though

MLS and monkey - Thrush! I can never hear that word without thinking of a friend of mine who suffered badly from it and once proclaimed very loudly in a bar that she was itching so badly she needed to 'go and have a good scratch with a loo-brush'

I love the the way this thread is peppered with baby stories as well as TTC stories, but have to confess the baby stories are like a glorious foreign language to me. Can't tell you a single helpful thing - sorry - but, if 'furr-kid' tips help, stroking and gentle scratches under the chins seem to fix all sorts of problems (as well as thousand of kisses on the heads) It's taking me this long to figure out TTC, and still trying to figure it out! The next mountain is not quite in sight but maybe I'll pick up some tips before/if I ever get there.

AFM - We started TTC over a year ago. BFP in March last year which ended in a MMC (discovered at ten weeks and followed by an ERPC). Another BFP in Dec which ended in what they thought could be an ectopic (over two weeks of tests to see if HCG levels were falling, very scarey). Now being called a PUL (pregnancy of unknown location)

In both pregnancies I also had HECTIC physical symptoms: hands shaking, legs weak, heart racing, unable to sleep, physically feeling very wobbly and weak. Really horrid. I made the mistake of describing this as being 'like a relentless panic attack' to health professionals which resulted in me being sent down a CBT route - which made me miserable (long story for another time).

I am not sure if these things are an indicator of something going wrong in my body. In my second BFP, I knew I was PG about a week before the HPT showed it - due to these symptoms. I am 100% sure this isn;t 'in my head' but actually something happening in my body triggered by being PG.

NHS will test me after ONLY three MCs .. which is very hard to take.

Self-referred myself to a private consultant and he has effectively said if we don't conceive within 6 mths we need to consider IVF. I can't get my head around that and don't really know why he said it...?

Since seeing him, I have found that a submuscosal fibroid I have is taking up between 10-20% of my uterous - so in that much area there is zero chance of implantation. (I knew I had a fibroid, just didn't know the impact)

And to cap it all - DH's SA came back ok for count but less than optimal for motility and morphology. He has to re-test and planning to go in tomorrow.

Asked my DH's GP - couldn't get an appointment to see mine despite turning up at clinic door two days in a row before they opened - to refer me to a fertility clinic. (mrskate I can rant for Britain about the NHS ... trying to restrain myself now). He is going to refer us - but I didn't get a good vibe: I think he thinks they won't see us because of 'criteria' - and I don't know what the criteria are...

Currently on 4th month of ttc #1 (for the third time) - and I'm 39 .

I must do some work now ... well, a bit of work - in between lurking for cupcake and PFJ news. x

Joolsiam · 02/06/2010 14:34

Justshaggy - I am cat obsessed too I only have two at the moment and, yes, they are my surrogate children

Started TTC my first at 38 , one suspected chemical pg, one horrid natural bloodbath of an MC at 12 weeks that has left me with PTSD in Nov 08 and another natural MC at 6 weeks in April 09. Nothing since, except spiralling down into clinical depression (now coming out the other side).

So, you are a mere youngster

justshaggy · 02/06/2010 14:45

jools I really KNOW you are a true cat lover by the way you say you 'only' have two at the moment. I'm smiling - ttc support from someone who understands the meanings of purrs! I have two too - but only because DH is asthmatic. Two of the neighbour's cats visit often though (I don't feed them, I promise) so we sometimes have 4 and I have pointed out meaningfully to him that his asthma doesn't seem to get worse.

I am so sorry to hear what you've gone through. What advice have you had and where are you now in your heart and head?

I can tell you that a very very long time I suffered from full blown clinical depression (partly why Drs think CBT is a way to deal with me - but they're wrong) I so know what a black miserable dark hell-hole that is!! If you ever feel like you're sliding back in, throw out a hand....

(so much for me getting work done)

cupcakefairy · 02/06/2010 16:48

justshaggy you are definitely going to fit in well around here
Good to know your story, though I'm so sorry for what you've been through sounds horrific. I hate the NHS 'only after 3 miscarriages' rule...I know it would cost a lot to test/scan everyone who miscarries but it is such an awful thing to go through and we need all the help and reassurance we can get. Just so you know my story- I lost our first lo in March 09 at 8 weeks, went down medically managed route which was horrendous. Conceived this little monkey 6 months later. You will be temping and OPKing before you know it with us lot around
I am also a massive cat-lover though don't own any as our place is rented have to make do with my parents' and all the lovely neighbourhood cats

Thanks for your encouragement too, and louey. Incidentally, we don't know it's a girl though I'm beginning to think it must be some big drama queen who wants to make a grand entrance!

Still swivelling on the ball...

Oh, I also realised that 4ever, LBM and I are playing musical EDDs here.
LBM got the day before mine, 4ever got the day after LBMs... and I'll probably be getting 4ever's if lo comes on Friday

VJay · 02/06/2010 17:37

Right i'm on quick cos I have a very grizzly Ajay.

louey I didn't have to request anything as I had no idea there was anything wrong with DS1 , I knew he had delayed speech and language, so when I was told he was showing signs of autism I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach several times. It's all good now though, the diagnosis doesn't change him just helps him, and I wouldn't change him for the world
Excited for you TTC too

Doggy update, he's had 26 teeth removed , has a chronic infection on his mouth, has arthiritis in both his hind legs and had a 'dramatic' heart murmet, and yes I did think of you barbie , other than that he's OK, and I'm going to pick him up in half an hour I do feel crappy though for not seeing there was something up with him sooner.

cupcake , lots of hair stroke for you

Not had a proper catch up sorry, will try to get on later xxx
