oh mrskate poor you and jack - hope everything is ok at A&E and you don't have to stay.

I think my lo is trying to do a poo and will only settle on my knee this pm - hence one handed typing.... don't think it will help my crappy spelling!

QuestionsAgain · 31/05/2010 08:29

It's gone very quiet on here. Are you all birthing partners for cupcake ?!

MrsKate how worrying for you, how is JD today?

gracie Hope the plans for the christening are going well, do you have a new gown or a family one?

blue glad you had a good night out, it's great to get out and let your hair down, especially on your birthday.

lbm I could probably do with some sand, but am just the impatient type and have always tested at the earliest opportunity You do sound so chilled with baby j, love the fact that you are knitting too!

Hi to vjay and barbie cupcake hope that you are ok, and that things have started to move along for you

Fell asleep on the sofa last night at 8.30 and Dh let me sleep in this morning until 8am so had 12 hours last night! The last week must have worn me out

Hope you are all out enjoying the bank holiday

Neeko · 31/05/2010 09:00

mrskate hope JD is ok.

Vjay OMG I missed your post about Ajay standing. How exciting!

Gracie also very exciting about I's christening. What you both wearing?

Speaking of wearing Monkey which dress did you go for. Hope you're doimg ok.

Cupcake anything?

Still having the battle with the bottle here. Massive thanks to Blue and MLS for keeping me sane. The game plan is now offering her an ounce before every daytime feed and I'm going to keep going til she takes it without protest. Have to do it myself as DH means well but doesn't really like her to cry because work means he sees her so little. Being cruel to be kind as I feel trapped with feeding at the moment even though I love feeding her and as Blue says Happy mummy = happy baby.

Love to everyone else especially 4everthebabymooner

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 09:16

Hi everyone,

I feel massively guilty for not keeping up with this thread. I am so sorry to everyone here, things at home have been hectic and I never seem to get the chance to use the computer as much as before. I hope you are all well and doing ok. Big hugs to you all.

But as always, I turn to mumsnet when I am feeling nervous and confused, and you girls are the best... (of course) so can I wibble at you?

I think I am pregnant. I am 2 days late for my period. I have felt pregnant for 2 weeks now. Sickness, overly tired, my nipples hurt, boobs feel heavy, my partner has noticed they look darker too. I am also really really gassy.. (how embarrassing) and I am getting weird bouts of heartburn. SO I really really think I am. Took a tesco preg test today, this morning first thing, and nothing. So I am thinking I must MAKE myself wait a week and take one again in case my HCG levels arent high enough yet. But the tests say that it should be positive by now... and I am worried that if its another ectopic my hcg levels will be lagging again like last time. If I take a really expensive test will it pick up on lower HCG levels? Can I actually wait a week to do another test without going mad? And if I am not preg how can my body DO this TO ME??! I really think that if I am not I am going mental!
Will my doctor fob me off at this early stage if I try to go to see him, maybe to persaude him to do a blood test, even if I have had an ectopic last time?? Argh etc.

Any comments or reassurance? Honesty would be appreciated.

Thank you thank you. xxx

Neeko · 31/05/2010 09:24

PFJ contact your EPU directly and don't be fobbed off. First response should be able to tell you and some of us have been known to take a test apart to check. Keep us posted.

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 09:27

Right I'll ring St. Marys ward.. the ward I was in last time during my ectopic... I am so nervous....Thanks Neeko. Patience really really isnt something I am good at.

Neeko · 31/05/2010 09:28

Me either. Here's my hand to hold. Good luck.

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 09:33

St Marys were really nice, they said to go through my doctor and if he is happy for me to come for an early scan or blood tests they will be happy to see me, but they need a new refferal. It's bank holiday monday so I guess I'll need to call him tommorrow. Maybe if I make some brownies today to keep myself busy... argh...

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 09:34

Thanks Neeko you have nice hands

QuestionsAgain · 31/05/2010 09:36

Hi PFJ, nice to see you back, even if it is because you are worrying.

I agree with neeko to ask the EPU, they will have a better understanding of why you are worried and more likely to do a blood test for you. It might be that you ovulated slightly later so you are pregnant but may be another day or 2 until you get a bfp, so if you have no luck with the EPU, get some more tests in stock and do one each day over the next few days.

Let us know how you get on with the EPU. Lots of luck x

Neeko · 31/05/2010 09:36

Go get a first response and wait 4 hours before peeing. Sometimes the second pee of the day gives a stronger response than the first but no idea why.

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 09:38

If first response are the best then I am getting one of those!! Thanks.

Hi Questions, its nice to see you again too. xxx

Neeko · 31/05/2010 09:39

Morning MLS

QuestionsAgain · 31/05/2010 09:39

Xposted,

Yep, go and see your Doctor tomorrow. Hopefully they will understand and refer you.

These things always happen on a bank holiday or weekend

How have you been generally

MummyLovesSadie · 31/05/2010 09:59

Morning Neeko! Thanks for the text.

Yes pfj definitely get a First Response. They really do work a lot earlier that the rest, they are worth the money. With this pregnancy I had a definite positive around a week before it even registered with a cheapo test. Another explanation is a chemical pregnancy - I've had two of those & the last one was the month before I fell pregnant this time. It's when the egg is fertilised but for some reason doesn't go on to develop & your af comes heavier than normal, either on time or a few days late. The only plus side is that they seem to make your body more ready to fall pregnant next time as I'm not the only one on this thread to fall pregnant the month after a cp.

QA - woman after my own heart! Yes Neeko is right, I used to test ridiculously early & the earliest I had a bfp was 8dpo which would be about day 21 of a 28 day cycle. I used to do the whole digging yesterdays tests out of the bin just to double check - in fact that was when I had one of my bfp's last year.... on a day old hpt!

QuestionsAgain · 31/05/2010 10:11

MLS now you are just egging me on, i promised Dh this time that I wouldn't test like a madwoman test too early, as last time I started doing test from 6 days before I was due and then got a clear bfp2 days before I was due, had had faint ones for 2 days prior to that though, I can see you are going to be a bad influence on me. CD 17 today though, so still have a little while to go.

Have already stocked up on tests though Wish I had know that first response are better, just got 2 tesco normal ones and a digital one. chemical pregnancy must be awful though, to get your hopes up and then it not come to anything.

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 10:12

I have been ok, no absesses or weird medical stuff at last, after a year being ill in 2009, which is great. Little Jack is 2 now and he is trying to count. Hon hoo fee or ive ick ev-an eay ine een!! Then he gets really excited and does a dance. I have also gotten really good at making brownies. Big chucky ones with a gooey texture inside. There goes the diet. How have you been doing Questions? How's the baby Neeko? MummyLovesSadie I thought pg tests older than 10/20 minutes that show a line later are invalid? Something to do with evaporation causing them to turn? Or am I wrong. Cos if I am I am raiding the bin right now!

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 10:14

Questions - testing like a mad woman is our biological right, and when I do get pregnant I dont think I want another, so this time in my life will never come again. So viva the tests and enjoy it while you can.

QuestionsAgain · 31/05/2010 10:14

Oh forgot, on the symptom spotting front, had a day of cramps on my right side yesterday, little sharp pains, convinced myself it was implantation pains am trying to be more rational today and realise it was just as likely to be trapped wind

Have to go now, holding up the whole family jabbering away on here, PFJ , let us know how you get on

MummyLovesSadie · 31/05/2010 10:17

QA I used to go to Baby Mad on Ebay as the tests are ridiculously cheap & I'd have a brown envelope stuffed full of tests! In my experience the more tests you have, the earlier you start testing. I'd got to the stage where I was doing several a day !! It was only in the couple of months before I fell pregnant this time that I started buying First Response. There is always a BOGOF offer on them in either Boots, Superdrug or Sainsburys. If you start using OPK's I've actually found that the cheap online one's work better than the more expensive ones so I'd suggest you have a trawl on Ebay.

QuestionsAgain · 31/05/2010 10:17

X posted again!

Jack sounds like he is doing really well, love his counting Lol at you raiding the bin! Glad everything has been ok for you. Now, really have to go..

ThePFJ · 31/05/2010 10:25

I think I am going to try ebay now!!! Thanks xxx
