LBM I know, I can't believe they both have too! But literally everyone is suggesting it; it's so weird how people suddenly think it's ok to tell you to have a lot of sex

MLS my MIL is quite a quirky one! Glad scan was good but how annoying about the notes! At least they have all your details on so should be returned to you when they show up.
Really really hope baby is here before end of bank holiday...but will definitely be looking into whatever else I can do!

cupcake good luck for the sweep today, the best thing to do is to take a spare pair of underwear (incase it make you bleed, its normal so dont worry!) and then walk, walk, walk!
Honestly walk as far as you can, dont rest...Like mls i went from 1 cm to 3cm as soon as the sweep was done, but i made the mistake of coming home and resting, three days later i had to be induced. My doctor had told me to keep active but i was just soooooo tired!

We are nearly in some sort of routine! Devon goes to bed at 7pm, will wake about 1am and then will go back to sleep til 5.30. Another fed and play and back to sleep for another hour at 7am the only thing is so is so wriggly she got from the bottom of the cot to the top, then turn herself width ways and got her arm stuck through the bar! we have a cot bumper but we need something to go the whole way around! Any ideas??? or shall i just buy another bumper the same as we have and join them

mls glad your scan was a good un....damn it about your notes! surely they have to be there somewhere?

vjay has your big head gone down any yet? I hope we all cheered you up and made you see how much we all love you!

lbm i love your pics on fb, and im also that you have found time to knit with a newborn around!

We are off to the zoo today, will come back later x

MummyLovesSadie · 29/05/2010 06:14

Barbie yes two cot bumpers will do the trick. My dd used to end up in all sorts of positions in her cot - I would have loved to have had a video camera in her room to see how on earth she did it!

Yes Cupcake spare pants & a pad as my sweep made me bleed. Good luck!

Going to collect dh from the airport shortly.... of course my dd picked last night to be wide awake from 1 until 4 & now the little monkey is sleeping soundly in bed next to me.

CurlyBigPants · 29/05/2010 07:16

Is there news???? Did I win????

littlebellsmum · 29/05/2010 09:47

good luck cupcake Take your hospital bag just in case things get moving really quickly...
We need to get a list for you of things to do, should the sweep not work - the obvious pineapple, curry and sex and then the not so usual - accupuncture ( my accupuncturist also said that it can be effective), castor oil ( not good for you but I know someone who swears by it) - any other ideas ladies?

barbie having a second or third child is so different from having a first - you have so much more time as you know much better what you are doing . It also helps that she is a really good baby (at the moment) but it is still early days. I have managed to knit whilst she is feeding but crapply and ended up having to undo that piece as I got it wrong as I was rushing!!
V impressed that you know devon so well already - the 2 hour window is really useful. On the odd occasion that JoJO stays awake after food, 2 hours is her max too. I'm also reading the baby whisperer to try and get her settled at night
Your routine sounds good - have fun at the zoo

MLS Yes - typical of dd - they have some sort of 6th sense about these things. Good news on all the good scans

hi curly and no, it doesn't look like you won!

barbie1 · 29/05/2010 11:26

Lurking for news of cupcake and minimuffin!

Hope the sweep wasnt too painful...

Everyone is by the pool, im sat watching listen to the baby monitor while baby sleeps in her big cot

lbm i read the baby whisper, a lot of it makes so much sense, After reading it i confirmed the tired signals and realized she is always looking away after 2 hours awake and starts pulling at her ears. Now i have the confidence i take her up stairs and shh/ pat her to sleep. The only down side is the fact she still will only sleep for prolonged periods while on her front, but the angel care monitor is great for that. ANd i cant complain with only one wake up in the night, even if it means me keep obsessing checking that she isnt face down! She is so strong though, she can fully lift herself up and turn her head so im sure she is ok.

Anyone else around???

Did anyone text mermaid with 4evers news? Also any news on 4ever is she out of hospital yet????

barbie1 · 29/05/2010 11:27

VJay · 29/05/2010 15:06

MrsKate · 29/05/2010 15:59

just lurking for news on babycake

hi all xxxx

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2010 16:47

Hello all sadly there is still no babycakes!! Hot curry, pineapple & sex last night did nothing! Still drinking lots of raspberry leaf...

Thanks for the tips for sweep but actually it was at home so didn't even need to put knickers on in the first place just hitched my skirt up

As soon as she had done it she said 'well I don't think you will be having this baby today' & I had to stop myself bursting into tears
She said cervix was 1.5cm long (is that the same as dilated ) and she could get one finger in but apparently the head isn't quite at optimum position, ie resting fully on cervix, it's slightly turned. So she said to walk lots. Dh and I immediately went on a v long walk. I was exhausted & my feet killing but just so desperate for this baby to come naturally we kept going! Fell asleep on the sofa immediately after

Anyway, have bled a bit since then & some cramping but nothing significant. We'll try dtd again later as it's apparently more effective after a sweep. She's coming for another sweep on Tuesday if nothing, and then I'm booked for an induction on Wednesday. I desperately don't want to be induced & just feel so down about not going naturally. My Mum & MIL between them have had 9 babies and never once been induced, was hoping that would bode well for me!

So come on Emmsys, help me to will this baby to come before Wednesday!

Sorry for the massive me rant

blue happy birthday lovely lady hope you're feeling much better for your night out!

barbie fab news about D getting into a nightime routine.

Right, dh has bought a 1000 piece puzzle to keep us occupied so I am off to help him!

OP posts:
VJay · 29/05/2010 16:53

cupcake after my sweep with Ajay I didn't feel much, only a slight cramping like you, he was born just under 16 hours later. Hope that puts a smile on your face

MummyLovesSadie · 29/05/2010 18:24

Cupcake unfortunately a long cervix is different to a dilated one. It's long throughout your pregnancy (like the end of a pencil) & tightly closed. As you start to contract it gets shorter & shorter & eventually ends up flat & then starts to open up to let your baby out. I have a feeling about tonight for you.

Is anyone else watching Eurovision tonight or am I the only sadzer?

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2010 18:24

Thanks Vjay that is encouraging.

Have heard from 4ever today. She is besotted with her little Summer. She's home now, struggling a bit with feeding and a bit sore after her 4 day ordeal and stitches etc.
She says thanks so much to everyone for texts etc & sorry she hasn't replied to all but she's in a baby bubble! She'll be back once they're a bit more settled

OP posts:
cupcakefairy · 29/05/2010 18:27

Thanks MLS That makes sense. She said it was good she could get a finger in though as sometimes she can't when she does sweeps.
I so hope it's tonight too!

I will def be watching Eurovision!! I thought I would have been watching cuddling my little one but I will have to settle for just rubbing my tummy and hoping the terrible music doesn't make him/her even more shy

OP posts:
barbie1 · 29/05/2010 18:36

sorry vj went shopping back tomorrow

come on baby cupcake

QuestionsAgain · 29/05/2010 19:57

Just popped on to see how you got on cupcake . If it's any consolation, my midwife said something similar to me and I went in to labour that night (that's why I picked tomorrow morning for you on the sweepstake, as I knew you were having your sweep today!!)

Just wanted you to know that it happens when it happens and you can be not in labour 1 hour and then it can all start suddenly for some people, so don't give up hope, it may not feel it as its only a few days away, but you still have plenty of time before you need to be induced. Love the fact that you and your DH are managing to DTD so regularly. Your MIL would be proud

Speaking of the sweepstake, do i get a prize for winning it the 2nd time, as I was the last date on the list so cupcake has kindly held out until no matter what time she has baby cupcake I will still be the closest?
If only I could use my powers for good

mls may go and mock watch eurovision now, had forgotten it was on. Glad your scan went well. Can't believe they lost your notes

lbm glad everything is going so well for you and baby j

welcome back neeko

glad 4ever is enjoying her baby bubble, quite right too

Have enjoyed this week with focusing on (and enjoying!) the TTC and have got more broody as the week has gone by so i am really pleased that I am so sure we are doing the right thing. Now, I have just got to avoid the ridiculous symptom spotting and endless googling

Big waves to everyone else, have to go now. takeaway has arrived!

GracieGirl · 30/05/2010 06:01

Ajay is standing! wow you must be a proud Mummy!

Cupcake I recommend dancing! I made a 3 hour playlist on my ipod of all the songs you just can't help but dance to and had it on repeat for a few days - and out popped baby! Big hugs, I hope it won't be long for you now.

QA no googling its very bad!!

4ever you enjoy every minute of staring at those little fingers and toes!

Did I mention DD is being Christetned a week today?

littlebellsmum · 30/05/2010 11:08

Good morning - just popping in to see how cupcake is this morning? I love the fact that your dh has bought that jigsaw to keep you busy - i hope you never manage to finish it. Loads of time untill Wednesday - I'm sure they will be here by then.

wow, gracie, christening next week - how are the plans going?

QA good to know that you are enjoying the ttc - it can all to easily be a seen as a chore! better to focus on that than google! Iggy and I recomend the sand pit - to bury your head in and pretend that , no matter what the symptom is, you are not pregnant - makes the time go quicker! I think I managed to hold out untill about 8 weeks before testing...

Hi to all the other lurkers - and to 4ever the feeding does get easier. Best solution for me in the early days is to let her feed when ever she has her mouth open and is doing the tongue in and out thing. Certaily makes for a happier baby in my case and therefore a happier mummy. And if you need to use formula - it is a good thing, not the devils work

Got to go, BabyJ sleeping and so things to do!

barbie1 · 30/05/2010 11:45

any news cupcake..... come on, we are all waiting!

VJay · 30/05/2010 11:51

Morning, checking up on cupcake, do I really need to ask? Are you contracting?????

gracie I am a proud mummy now that I've stopped looking like this everytime he does it. How are the Christening plans going, are you all ready, outfits chosen etc?

Morning lbm, good advice to 4ever

4ever big hello to you in your baby bubble, so happy for you. We need photos

Ajay is asleep, Cjay is on the wii, so I am studying on here, well have just submitted an assignment online, so am allowing myself some mn time

VJay · 30/05/2010 11:52

Hiya barbie

bluesatinsash · 30/05/2010 12:22

morning afternoon all

Just recovering from my b'day/girl's night out which was soooo what I needed after the week that was . DH was a super star and gave Ben his bedtime bottle so I could get ready and enjoy putting make up on etc. Had a lovely night out with girl's - all talk was of babies of course but just nice to be 'me' and not 'Mmumy' for a few hours. DH did night feed and took Ben downstairs this mornng whilst I lolled around in bed. Isaac is at grannies so nice and quiet here.

Oh and my new high heeled clogs rocked!

Feel I've not caught up with everyone's news for ages...

Vjay - well done Ajay for standing - and he's off! Not long til we're up your way... We drive up on Friday 11th June for one week. Let me know if you still fancy coming over - would the weekend be better for you? Cjay and Isaac could play?

QA - loving your posts honey and yay! to babydancing and broodiness

Barbie - you sound like everything is just clicking into place with Devon - huge pat on back for getting bedttime routine nd shoosh patting down to a tee . I do think that getting them down in the evening is such a huge milestone as you can get some free hours to relax and reconnect with your DH! Loving that photo of D in her swimming cossie

LBM - hope you're taking it easy, you sound chilled... How's the scar healing?

MLS - forogot to say how fantastic it is that you're 20 weeks!!! More than halfway there now missy .

4ever - the frist 10 days of breast feeding are just so hard and sore but if you can stomp down, curl up your toes and persevere it does get so much easier. Summer is just beautiful - another dark hard lovely . hope you're not too sore either x

Neeko - thanks for keeping me perked up with your wise txtxs . Your H sounds as strong willed as my Ben - heaven help us!

Gracie - how exciting little Isabele's christening. Itss such a special day and you will feel so proud showing her off .

Well my boobs are starting to soften which means milk is almost gone . Still sure I've done the right thing and Ben is pouncing on his bottles but feeling a bit melancholy too which will just be my horrormones readjusting. Really hoping my mojo comes back soon but not as much as DH is .

Right better go, oh and Babycupcake - enoughs, enough - get a move on!!!!!!!

cupcakefairy · 30/05/2010 13:06

Hello ladies, still nothing!!
Every morning I wake up with a massive wave of disappointment that things haven't got going in the night
One of my NCT friends said her midwife said the same at sweep, that things didn't look hopeful but then her labour started 36 hours later...so that would be tonight! Come on baby!! We'll go for another walk later too.

I spent yesterday evening stomping up and down our stairs while listening to Eurovision we finished the puzzle so had to go out and buy another one to do today...what geeks! But it is keeping us busy.

gracie I will do some dancing, thank you how exciting about the christening.

blue so glad you enjoyed your well deserved girls' night!

qa I guess you did win the sweepstake barbie you've got a contender for a new mystic there
