Hello world!

OP posts:
hairytriangle · 07/06/2010 17:51

Diege got Saturdays result and it was a drop of 8 points, got the seven day test tomorrow.

I had a brace about three years ago - (appraoching forty!) - was a pain in the teeth, LOL, but well worth it i now have lovely straight teeth for the first time ever

Hippy I am totally amazed that my haemoglobin is testing as healthy - I must've had pints taken out by needle, and lost pints at the other end too!

Hi lunatic, we have met before elsewhere here, so it is good to have you join here with the oldies force too.

OK ladies, following my saying that there would be no more early testing for me following last months chemical pregnancy, what did I do this morning...... feck feck feck. yep I am back on the emotional rollercoaster again. Why oh why do I do this to myself. Now for the tmi... we only did it twice in the whole month (if you ignore this mornings time), this was at 4 and 6 days before ovulation... arrggg, I do not like being able to get pregnant so easily, as it just sets me up on the "well how long will this one last, 2 days or 10 weeks...? Unfortunately I have been taking the progesterone this month so know that it will prolong any potential m/c... why oh why do I put myself through all this. Phew, sorry just needed to get that all of my chest, as I really really did not think I was pg this month. (I had already told dh he had failed this month and he needed to put more effort in next month !)

doubleshotlatte · 07/06/2010 18:11

Subdued hellos everyone,

Horrid weekend, AF heralded herself with spotting and all dreams came crashing down. After the BFFN or was it BFFFFFN I went out alone for a walk to the nearest Starbucks, while DH had quality time with DD in the garden (she ran around nappyless, futile potty-training phase 2)...

I just had to get several double shot lattes down until I was literally shaking since I will be giving up the caffeine for the next lot of TTC

Italian I hear you re: the 2 week headache - terrifying prospect!

Hairy how difficult and awful a time for you. Luckily, I had totally obliterated all memory of my MC within a few months. But while it was in-media-res I told myself it was so long/painful/heavy because of how far along the pregnancy had got. Why do you mention an ovarian cyst?

Hippy try to relax, it sounds like your body is doing everything right. the first few pregnancies I bet you weren't this vigilant, and it all turned out right, didn't it?

New plan - continue the OPK kit + get some Preseed...

....and follow all of Hippy's top tips .

Diege · 07/06/2010 18:54

So sorry Doubleshotlatte On a more positive note, the first time I usedpre-seed I got pregnant (with dd3)so good stuff. You've reminded me abiut it, so may well out in an order if not lucky this month!
Hairy fingers crossed you get good news tomorrow. Totally different subject, but can I be nosy and ask which type of brace you had(I am a tad obsessive at the moment)? My dentist was saying it's mid 30s to mid-40s that make up the bulk of his clients for braces - he calls it the 'middle youth phenomena'
Hippy I'm a big fan of decaff T - can't tell the difference, although I do have it very weak, just slightly darker than milky water!
Lunatic I agree that you will fit in very well here .
Rainbow you dark horse you I know that you will be feeling very anxious, but I'm going to say congratulations anyway

Diege I had a white fixed brace, for six months, then a removable which I'm supposed to wear every night, but don't.

I also have a fixed retainer - piece of metal stuck to the front teeth at the back to keep them in place.

gonepearshaped · 07/06/2010 20:07

Just here to say a quiet congratulations Rainbow, well done!

hairytriangle · 07/06/2010 21:24

doubleshot i mention an ovarian cyst because I have one on my right ovary, found during the scan for the mc i don't do things by halves, me LOL

hippychick66 · 07/06/2010 21:28

OMG rainbow, either you are the most fertile person in the world or your DH should be selling his sperm on the internet.

Only twice this month and your pregnant - you two are bloody dynamite!!

There is nothing I can say to you about not worrying etc cos you have been in this position so many times before. i'm guessing you'll keep going with the prog and have a very early scan. Have they still not been able to establish why you lost the other pregnancies?

What are you going to do this time - just bury your head in the back garden and shout, "wake me up in 8 weeks!" i'm guessing.

I will also say congrats to you. I though my Dh had quite good sperm but yours is amazing!(don't tell him i said that - you know how big headed they get!)

diege and hairy - this is a ttc in your 40's thread - can you two tenagers go some place else and discuss your retainers please(said in an american accent ).

hairytriangle · 07/06/2010 21:32

LOL @ Hippy

Hellooo....I'm back! And very happy to be home. It was lovely to see my friends and catch up on their lives, but it wasn't exactly relaxing. Taking a toddler anywhere isn't going to be easy, is it?! However we both enjoyed it most of the time. Charlie wasn't exactly nice to the other toddler there. He thought all the toys at my friend's house were his, not the little boy who lives there! So there were a few tears.
I'm totally in awe of my friend who hosted the weekend. Her new house on her farm (an hour out of the city)is absolutely stunning - like out of a magazine, only real, comfortable and homely.Wow! It is about three times the size of my (average) house. Which is great, but I really don't envy the cleaning!
It was good to catch up with my friends, we are scattered all over the state and country, so only really do this once a year. It's funny how everyone is pretty much the same as they were at uni, despite all the changes that some of us have experienced. Some of them are still single, some divorced and remarried, some childless others with big families. And still all lovely friends.

Charlie travelled reasonably well, all things considered, until the last leg of the trip, when we had turbulence and he didn't want to be strapped into his seat. A fair amount of screaming and crying went on.Bet the other passengers were happy to get off!

Well, now I'm home and best start thinking about SWI soon! If I was having a normal cycle I'd ovulate in the next couple of days, but so far it is negative opks and negative microscope, so who knows. I'm not sure what will happen as Charlie is still bf too. In fact he's probably bf more than normal because he's cutting some new teeth, so it remains to be seen if I do O any time soon.

Oh, almost forgot to send a quiet Congrats to Rainbow. I really hope this is a sticky one for you.

Sorry, I can't keep track of everything, limited time.

Rowing, how was your weekend? I hope you aren't feeling too sad.

MsChutney · 08/06/2010 15:33

Hi everyone - I'm new around here although I've been an avid lurker for a few weeks Can I join too please?

We've been TTC for 9 months now and we're all set for the first lot of blood tests etc in the next two weeks. I do feel happier now we're doing something about it and I'm hoping that there's a logical reason and that something can be done to help us.

I'm 42 (not sure how that happened) and OH is 39 so we're hoping that something will happen soon!

We did think we'd struck lucky until AF arrived 3 days late (I'm never late). Typical eh?

Good luck to everyone for this month.

x

hairytriangle · 08/06/2010 16:03

Hope all well!

hippychick66 · 08/06/2010 19:15

My 10 year DS came home from school today and said that the girls had a talk with their mums about periods. He said they all got given one sanitary towel and they all came out wearing them on their heads and throwing them at the boys. Also, they were all saying, "Yuck, i don't wanna bleed!"

Poor girls - they have no clue that they have all this to come!

hairy I have no idea of the figures you quote but am glad to hear that you feel a bit better.

Welcome to mschutney

liahgen66 · 08/06/2010 21:02

Am starving but could only be cd16 with 6 dpo, (24 day cycle)symptoms impossible? yes? Am plainly just going nuts at long last.

Got cons appt and scan on Thursday for failure to get preggers and when do, rc mc.

hi lunatic I remember you.

OMG I would be even worse if I had tests calling to me from the cupboard. I am such an addict.

Day 19 is too early, as is bloody day 16, lol. We both know this so you are not to test, repeat after me, I will not test, there is no point and I will be pissed off at the stupid wrong test and myself for being weak.

and breathe...

randomimposter · 08/06/2010 21:53

thought I'd posted yesterday to say a quiet but heartfelt yay for Rainbow (but must have viewed on my phone and forgot to log in).

Lia - empathise.... am also day 16 (not sure if I have even ov this month, but if so it was possibly day 12), and I am also symptom spotting like a loon. Prodded my chest in Sainsburys earlier as seemed sore. Welled up for no reason talking to DP earlier. Strange lower tummy twinges. God I hate all this lunacy ....

Hi Lunatic (ooops didn't mean to insult you!) and MsChutney (great age, me too). Lovely people here. Some of them are even quite sane (not Hippy though, she's mad AND potty mouthed... but lovely with it ).

Hi to all - hope all sunny with you.

ha ha Lunatic... I just counted ahead on my phone calendar for when I would be officially late and therefore would DEFO not test until then and I landed on June 20th. Father's Day.... and it was Father's Day last year that I got my BFP (for MMC1).... that means I am dufferoo for sure. It's fate innit ....

Pollyanna · 08/06/2010 22:33

hi all, haven't been on here for ages, but congratulations rainbow!

also on cd16 here, prob ovulated yesterday (am now the proud owner of a fertility monitor thingie as well as doing the temping thing, oh and acupuncture too).

We'll all be trying to resist testing at the same time!

had a lovely time for my birthday and now can legitimately be on the thread.

How strange that a load of you are on day 16 together- it's a bit like the nuns who all menstruate at the same time. Good luck to you all. DON'T TEST TOO EARLY (it's futile i know)

jolly I would be hurt if you though i was anything ohter than a loopy old bird

Had some endo pain this morning which upskittled me a bit this morning. But i'm sure my endometriosis played up with all the other pregs. It is just responding to all the hormones and probably the scar tissue is getting pulled about. I am not going to panic!!!!

I worked out yesterday that if you had asked me last year how many pregnancies i'd had - i would have answered 2 pregs and 2 kids.

Ask me now and the ansswer is 4 pregs, 2 kids, 1 loss and preg at mo. So in 6 months i have doubled the number of pregnancies I've had - I know this is not of any interest to any one but I found it quite weird. - (yes thank you Hippy all very interesting - now Sod Off!)
