So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

Hi Margie, so sorry for your loss. It took me ages seemingly to get my period after my ERPC. It came in the end.

RTD makes me think of Russell T Davies btw. :-)

Very sadly welcome Margie, so sorry you're here, you must be devastated. I was heartbroken at 11 weeks, you must have been through something just truly awful. Can't find any words to help, but feel free to rant and cry and tell us how you're feeling, anything that might help you.

Big waves to everyone else. iPhone typing so afraid no namechecking.

Will scuttle back to the office soon keeping well away from boots or any opportunities to buy early tests... So tempted, 10dpo tomorrow but I know it's a very very VERY bad idea.

I'm convinced my boss is pg... Empire line dresses for a week or so now, she probably fell pg on her honeymoon, lucky thing... and another colleague just back from 20 week scan (I should have been at the same stage) and I'm happy talking about it now, really, bit sad but not horribly so. It really does get easier. That or the sunshine is buoying me up??

Very best of luck with your scan GLB, cramps very likely your gut, hormones can play havoc, but I know it's so hard to stay calm when you're in pain.

Gi1da · 21/04/2010 13:22

Margie so sorry for your loss. I've added you to the list. This is definitely a good place to be (under the circumstances of course)

UCL = Usual Cycle Length
First cycle post MC we call the WTF cycle (What the fuck) as things can be pretty weird.

randomimposter · 21/04/2010 13:24

Hi Margie - welcome but sorry you're here...

Cheepzy am so . How absolutely lovely to keep the house in the family. Last year we had to sell our family home after my dad died; the family had moved in the year before I was born. It was MY home. It was a very difficult and emotional time. Am so happy for you that you will be making it YOUR family home. Am also ... LOVE Guildford. Used to visit it fairly regularly in my old life. Always make a point of standing at the top of the high st, and just ooooing at that view. Friends of ours who live in Ewshot (other side of Farnham) want us to move Guildford way. Also am v impressed at your health kick (however long it lasts!)... am more of a full English girl at heart, so shout when you're back there! And of course, DS fell asleep in his lunch today so is now snoring away upstairs, making a liar out of me that he's no longer napping ....

Have had strange almost pre-menstrual tummy pains today, but am CD18, and TMI am still getting some CM.... have another acu appt tomorrow, and also my day21blood test tomorrow (scheduled early as my typical cycle shorter, in case you think I've totally lost it....)

Right will crack on and get cleaning the wooden garden furniture (it sounds like I have a MAHooooooooSive garden). I so don't. Maybe too much stuff in it though...?

Tarra for now.
Slightly achy wave to all x

Gi1da · 21/04/2010 13:35

Hi LuckyBear well done you on getting an early scan for reassurance. Am sure it's all just things moving about and giving you jip.

Jolls you are right to tell me off, I woz not wearing ze gloves. Cat poo = not bright idea.

Cheepz how lovely to keep the house. They just don't make 'em like they used to! Mind you, mine's Victorian, and its all pretty shonky

Alba step away from the sticks!

How's our Dark Horse Eights?

Gi1da · 21/04/2010 13:37

Jolls ps am also going for acupuncture again tomorrow. Keep with it, it is definitely a Good Thing

Allthe8s · 21/04/2010 14:02

lurk lurk!! I am in that ignorance is bliss place and want to stay there for as long as possible - well at least until the weekend, just not ready yet.............Will be back later to catch up with you ladies hope you are having a lovely sunny day xx

Freezingmyarseoff · 21/04/2010 14:16

Oh yes, I always think Guildford has good shopping. Will be lovely for you to be back in your childhood home.

Jollster your getting on with household taks is making me feel v slatternly

BunnyBaby · 21/04/2010 14:58

Margie welcome and so sorry to hear your news about your precious little one. It is all so recent for you too. We're a nice bunch!

Sorry I've not been on much, have been reading but have not has chance to post.

Despite new togs and getting fit, yesterday was 3 mths since scan when we found out we'd lost our precious DS2 hence a bit of weeping at lunch on phone to DH.

Today told the other girly in our boy dominated team. She lost hers too in Feb at 10 weeks. Though she hadn't told anyone. At least I'm not on my own.

Laughing at kitty litter gardens. Has anyone got solutions for wascally pet wabits who creep behind trellis and eat all your clematis and chilli plants (nutters).

Big wave and cupcakes with butter icing to all. Apologies for not name checking and thanks for some lovelyposts for me.

Mwah mwah xxx

Mummy3610 · 21/04/2010 16:57

Hello Ladies,

Why do I always come on here when work are being shite? Is it too much to ask to get paid all my salary for last month? Sorry about that, I don't mean to moan every time I post!

RTD arrived yesterday 28 day cycle so things must be getting back to normal, though don't recall any EWCM so not sure if ovulated this month. Not been SWI (or without!) and DH still in oblivious-land

Sorry to see new recruits but this is a good place to loiter.

Have updated my stats and relegated myself to the bottom of the list.

Margie - so sorry for your loss, I hope we can help you through the days an weeks ahead- take care of yourself and your DP.

Bunny - my 3 month anniversary was v sad too - had a little cry - big hug to you

Allthe8s like the lurking, very lurker like

mummy3610 - gah, how frustrating! hope you get your pay soon. RTD a good sign you're getting back to normal. I didn't have any EWCM for first 2 cycles either

alba not long to wait now - you've over half way?!

I am on the bloody early train tomorrow morning, (note this is considerably earlier than the early train) so better go and sort my life hair out...

Moofold · 21/04/2010 20:22

Hello Margie that's awful sad news. You must be reeling, hope you are coping alright.

GLB hope your pains have subsided and are due to tummy troubles. Can see why these types of things would send you in a blind panic. Although obsessing since December about being pregnant again I am also terrified at the same time about getting that BFP and dreading that it will go wrong agaiin. You're doing the right thing, keep calm and just take it easy. Easier said I know but I'm sure a positive frame of mind can only help you.

Bunny the milestones are never easy but that's good you've found someone at work you can talk with too.

Allthe8s and Alba I'll try and hold off egging you on for a bit. What are your symptoms? I need to hear about someone else's because I am totally symptomless. WHERE ARE MY SYMPTOMS, I'm not even fabricating any. What's wrong with me!! I demand some symptoms!

Waves to everyone else about - I might go and have a glass of wine on the basis that this looks like a futile TWW and I had a horrible day at work.

Cheepz · 21/04/2010 20:30

advice ladies

first chat about new job friday - not a formal interview but first meeting with new boss so need to wrap him round little finger so he will offer to pay me the earth make good impression

he is a south african and not the most pc bloke according to my old boss, which is fine with me because i am married to a not very pc southafrican so i know how to handle them and can put up with their somewhat neanderthal tendencies!!

i am wondering whether to go with a trouser suit and play it conservative or skirt suit to show off my great legs which is abit more vavavoom, am thinking a skirt will make the more lasting impression not necessarily for the right reasons but sod it i really want this job!!

Unethical? Imoral? or just using whatever I got that god gave me.

Freezingmyarseoff · 21/04/2010 20:35

Go with whatever makes you feel most confident in. I'd do skirt myself if I had great legs. And that reasoning has nothing to do with ethics or morals

WestYorkshireGirl · 21/04/2010 20:35

Lucy, Clare, Teaser - thanks for info on ov sticks. I will see how I go au naturalle for a while longer, but good to know there are weapons at my disposal in my war against the lack of babies!

Teaser - As I know Northumberland well I did indeed wrap up warm. Some of my coldest experiences have been in castles and country houses in Northumberland and I had to buy special work wear when I first started my job- it's never near as cold in Yorkshire when I leave and come back back home so I have to take lots of layers! It was lovely and sunny though which made up for the cold wind.

Dorcas - enjoy your holiday. I too love the beaches, especially Bamburgh.

Margie- Welcome and sorry for your loss. My RTD took 5 weeks after mc and I think random cycles seem to be the norm.

Bear - Hope the pains aren't anything to worry about and good news about the scan next week. As you'll have seen, it was not a lucky month for me, but onwards and upwards!

Clare & Bunny - I know it's hard not to mark the anniversaries, but I've stopped doing this now and would have to look up my old due date which I think is a good thing.

WestYorkshireGirl · 21/04/2010 20:38

Cheepz I'm a traditionalist so would go with skirt suit over trouser suit if I didn't know the person.

PrettyVacant1 · 21/04/2010 20:39

< Meek wave >

Sorry for the dramatics
Thanks for all the support and swearing.
I can't abandon our team!

I have taken a fish from the Cheepz shoal of thought and slapped myself about abit.
Went for tests, don't want to research more on t'internet and I'm not losing it till/if they tell me I'm fooked.
Duplication of chromosome 22 is not the best way to go on to win healthy baybees. (sorry )

2 weeks.

On iPod so sorry no naming lovelies.

Welcome Lucy and margie xx

Will catch up properly soon, have to run now I'm taking Brian and Mr.G for a pint and we're going to do the quiz

clareanna · 21/04/2010 21:03

Cheepz - have a South African BIL so know what you mean! I reckon go in what you feel most confident in. What did you have to wear when you worked with him before??
knock em dead!

clareanna · 21/04/2010 21:05

Mrspretty - lovely to hear from you, think you were actually very undramatic and are entitled to much storming and raging if needed. Positive Mental Attitude def the way to go x

Gi1da · 21/04/2010 21:05

Hey MrsPretty there's a monkfish with your name on it here whenever you need it Have a bloody good night out x

Moofold · 21/04/2010 21:35

Cheepz if you've got it, go for it. Nothing wrong with that.

Welcome back MrsPrettyG - good on you. Enjoy your pints.

Gi1da while I am getting neurotic about lack of symptoms what were yours? I can't remember you mentioning any before stunning us all with your dramtic BFP?

digitalgirl · 21/04/2010 22:02

Welcome margie, so so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. But you are in good hands on this thread. Lots of lovely ladies with plenty of sage advice and warm words.

This week is flying by for me. Still spotting a bit of brown but beginning to feel crampy again which makes me wonder if the regular cyclical hormone are firing up again. Way too soon to expect ov, am fully prepared for an anovulatory cycle before having a proper long old wait till my next egg hatches (37 day plus ucl).

No chance of even getting any swi practice as we're in the process of packing my mums stuff up every night. This weekend will be the main move. The following weekend will be repairs, decorating and cleaning. Then hopefully the weekend after that we can relaaaaax. Perhaps my first referral appointment will have come through by then.

Am extra busy at work. Can't complain as I'm now officially on a rolling contract so means more steady income (the holy grail of freelancing).

DS's daily and bedtime routine has been thrown out the window lately with all the upheaval so would dearly like to get some normality back for his sake.

Basically life is doing it's best to carry on and distract me from moping and feeling sorry for myself. Think I'm off for an early night.

Apologies for no proper name-checking. I'm also iphoning . You're all wonderful .

malteser1981 · 21/04/2010 22:04

Westyorkshire - we are cut from the same cloth! PIL live in Beadnell and I'm from York but live up north now. Hope you had a well deserved relaxing time.

Pretty, I thought you were rather well composed. You have had more than your fair share of heartache so I have my fingers crossed that the consultation gives positive news.

Cheepz - get the legs out!!

Gi1da · 22/04/2010 06:49

Cheepz I'd say get the legs out but keep cleavage covered, not that I'm suggesting you'd flash your norks to get the job, just working on the theory that you only show one asset at a time. If trouser suit, then norkage a go-go!

Moof not high on the symptom front but a couple of indicators. More CM than usual. Dry mouth and raging thirst for water - this is very unusual for me. I drink water with the same enthusiasm a slug has a salty gargle. Only 4w4 so nothing else to report. I didn't have many symptoms before, apart from definite boobness, and wondered if it was a problem but my mum said that the only thing she ever had was a sudden aversion to coffee.

Bunny re wabbits. I'd leave out some Thai fish paste, lemongrass and balsamic vinegar. They are clearly gastronomes and deserve respect (and it's a bugger to find decent ingredients in the hedgerows)!
