A girl I used to work with got in touch on FB last week. She was due on 7th Jun and had her DS on 8th March at 25 weeks gestation. He is now 9 weeks old and a fighter but she is going through every emotion under the sun as you can imagine. I'm so praying for them and willing him on and if donated breast milk can help that's fantastic.

bluesatinsash · 28/04/2010 21:03

bless him DH has just brought me up a cuppa and a bowl of maltesers as I said I would be on here tonight,

I'll shut up for a bit and have my tea

VJay · 28/04/2010 21:04

blue I do think it's hormonal.
I have spoken dh (he's just rang again!) and told him about your trip up, and said he'd drive me down, bless him, I can drive you know . DS1 does have a bike, but can't ride it, but that is one of our projects for this year, to get him on it.

Right dh is about 5 minutes away, so am logging off.

monkey much love to you, and good luck with your gynae appt. tomorrow, hope it goes well

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 28/04/2010 21:11

Vjay - maybe seeing my DS1 tackle his first bike will help your DS1? Night night x

Monkey - forgot to think about things for you to say at your appointment... I would just ask about things physically (how your body is recovering/anything you should/shouldn't be doing) and emotionally (how/when/if you start ttc...). Hope it all goes OK x

monkeybumsmum · 28/04/2010 21:17

Gracie Glad to hear it's not just me with the names, I wonder where they come from That's a great thing to be donating breastmilk, it must be so needed.

Blue Your dh sounds like a star! Lovely that you and VJay are thinking of meeting up. Wish I wasn't so far away!

Thanks for good luck wishes 4 tomorrow, am not looking forward to going!

Must go and put some clothes in the dryer now, am being such a dipstick at the mo, and all of ds's shorts were dirty and need to take them tomorrow. Cue an express wash and panic packing tomorrow morning - we're leaving at 7!

bluesatinsash · 28/04/2010 21:20

Och they'll just get dirty as soon as he puts them on if he's anything like my DS!

What's a bit of dirt between friends .

CurlyBigPants · 28/04/2010 21:22

monkey have you done your toenails? We could have a pampering session on the greenhouse if you like?

blue yer a bad un. I'm a choccy fiend too

waves to Gracie and gasp at sun power!! Glad I
am not the only one "spoiling" my child

And tut tut to vj. It's meant to be the men who don't listen

Big wave at lovely moon

monkeybumsmum · 28/04/2010 21:24

They sound very alike Blue Literally he has been rolling around in muck and digging wiggly worms up in the garden. Boys will be boys hey!

CurlyBigPants · 28/04/2010 21:27

vj hormones are crap hope you feel better soon xxx

monkey my lovely I'm going to get under the duvet and settle in for the night as I'm so wrecked my eyes are all bloodshot. Text if you'd like to talk. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow xxx

night all

BlueMoon1981 · 28/04/2010 21:29

monkey i dont call any of my family by their real names either, i think its nice to have pet names and agree with blue clean clothes seem to attract more dirt anyway, just like a white top attracts pasta sauce in dfs case...

hi curly thanks for the ice cream fix are we allowed a peek at curlygirl one day please? completely understand if you'd rather not.

blue and vjay i am terrible at listening to df on the phone, i get easily distracted and its usually nothing important anyway!

cupcakefairy · 28/04/2010 21:40

Wow the thread filled up since earlier! Once again you lovely ladies showing amazing support for each other, always makes me want to cry!
You've probably all logged off now but just wanted to say hello

monkey so so sorry about the sadness of today. As the others have said, you did not let your little one down, you fought for him and went through so much for him; he will know that. Hoping and praying your getaway will be just what you need.

gracie I have just told my dh to always make sure not to get distracted while changing violent-pooing baby
Lovely about the breastmilk, I had heard of that a couple of weeks ago sounds fab.

Vjay that cracked me up about not listening to your dh I'm exactly the same!

Lol, dh has just said "there's nowhere to sit in this house booties are everywhere!" I have been knitting rather a lot of booties for everyone we know expecting babies the lounge is overrun!

Right, am off to get the choc ice cream from the freezer, am willing to share...

bluesatinsash · 28/04/2010 21:44

Hi cupcake - you are adorable with all your booties

Its so reading you and other first time saggy panters to be on the home stretch, the excitment tinged with apprehension. The newness of it all its just lovely to witness.

QuestionAnswered · 28/04/2010 21:51

monkey I can almost feel the collective hug around you tonight. The garden sounds like a lovely idea and I can totally see why you have kept it to yourself, its like a special link between you and your Lo. I hope tomorrow with the gynaecologist goes ok and you manage to enjoy your time away with your Dad. You sound very close to him. Try and take in as much pampering a you can.
You asked how long it had taken for my cycle to return after the MC and it was just over 6 weeks I think. Though seem to be ovulating quickly after AF though. Even if we do decide ttc, I am definitely waiting until my next cycle.

louey if you can't get drunk on your birthday when can you?!

moon that will help you with the early starts at least To be fair, DS is/was a brilliant sleeper on the whole, although that's still never enough sleep for me
for your back ache.

jools have never had a martini, but chocolate one may be enough to tempt me. Hope you are having a fabulous time.

Mermaid am not even going to ask what led to the baked beans i husbands boots conversation....! But, am glad you are getting the chance to offload with someone, even if it is minor chat for the time being.

cupcake it's no wonder your impatient, those last few weeks seem to go so slowly.

curly my DS used to love the shush patting too!

neeko and MLS glad the meet up went well, must feel very strange at first. Sounds like vjay and blue might be following in your 'meet up' footsteps!
Neeko H is doing very well, at least you know all that milk is going in

vjay It is really normal to get a bit of a dip after you stop BF, i think it takes a while for your body to adjust. Good that you have a HV you feel able to talk to though. Hope poor Ajay's gets his teeth through. Wouldn't you have thought we would have evolved from the teething process by now. i feel so sorry for babies, who have no idea why they are in pain.

blue your story about your friend setting up the annual ceremony shows how woman never forget their losses, even years on.

gracie at your poor DH! You do really well to cope alone for such long days with your DH working long hours. The milk banking is a great scheme and lovely that you are managing to fit it on top of everything else.

bluesatinsash · 28/04/2010 21:52

Off to bed now before night shift begins - ahh sleep, perchance to dream ....

Night all and bug hug again for monkey xx

GracieGirl · 28/04/2010 22:04

I'm a bit behind with sorting out my photos but I've just put a new one of Isabelle when she was 5 weeks on my profile. I'll sort out a more recent one soon.

GracieGirl · 28/04/2010 22:09

Oh yes and one more thing - I started getting Graze boxes delivered to my house twice a week for yummy snacks (dried fruit, nuts, fresh chopped fruit, olives, seeds, etc etc). Good as an alternative to chocolate (or as well as chocolate! ) or for keeping me going when Isabelle doesn't give me chance to cook meals.

I've got a code for a free box (usually £2.99) and a 2nd box half price if anyone's interested. link Code - W35V4K1B

monkeybumsmum · 28/04/2010 22:15

Curly Didn't see your earlier post - I can't find my nail polish, so no, my toes aren't done. What colours do you have

Cupcake Lovely re booties

Thanks QA Yes am very close to dad, and so pleased that we're going away. He needs it desperately too, this year has been awful for him. Thanks for cycle info, think it's a good idea to wait a while too. PS. I feel like I've had a massive hug this evening - is lovely.

Blue Sleep well lovely x

Am off to bed now too, feeling much better than I did earlier thanks to all of you. Gosh, it really does help to be able to get it all off my chest.

Will be back from the coast on Saturday afternoon, so will try to come back on then. If anyone needs me I have my phone
Lots of love xxx

monkeybumsmum · 28/04/2010 22:17

Gracie Just seen your latest pic of Isabelle, she is adorable!!!! What a gorgeous little girl you have That Graze box sounds a fab idea - do they deliver to Belgium

4everhopeful · 29/04/2010 02:48

Monkey was just thinkin about you & your dad, when i lost my dad i felt i had to sheild & protect my mum from everything, the roles became a bit reversed & it was hard for me, i expect its somewhat the same for you? However after going through the mc's it has reversed the parent child roles back to what they were & has rebonded us in such a special & needed way, she has been an amazing support.. Im just thinking that it would break my mums heart to feel she hadnt been able to support me & im sure your dad would feel the same, and that its almost cathartic & healing for him to feel able to help you & be there for you.. Just a thought sweetie.. Know your head must be spinning right now... X x x x x

VJay · 29/04/2010 10:39

Morning , Ajay was up most of the night, he was coughing away and combined with teething, it wasn't a good night. Thankfully DH is off today , he's so sweet, I went to the hairdressers this morning, and when I got back he'd booked an aromatherapy massage for me for Monday

monkey thinking of you xx

Ajay is asleep so off to put my feet up
