Ok, feel a bit scared actually starting the new thread but here we are, for however long (or short) our time here may be.

Off you go ladies. Welcome () one and all.

Gi1da that's a lovely idea to plant for your lost baby. I think I'll do the same.

Off to work early this morning and dreading the day. this is the same journey I took on the morning I found I was pregnant and was so excited and it's just so different today.

we did SWI at the right time last week but it was such a struggle especially for DH he's struggling after the MC. It's so much pressure to 'perform'. I just hope that times get better and 'SWI/BD' gets fun again also :-)

Just dreading today.

littlemiss72 · 15/03/2010 07:39

Morning all, back to Monday already!!

Mother's Day was more of a struggle than I expected especially as DP is away on business. That's a lovely idea Gi1da must be nice to see it growing.

DP back in time for SWI bless him, he's been told. I'm worried I might be putting too much pressure on him to perform on certain days, how do you get round that one

The house hunting was a little disappointing, looks likely we will have to take a look outside our chosen area as we see four on Saturday and none of them were any good!

Mother's Day was SHIT!! Am actually glad it's Monday. Actually felt uber jealous of my OWN MOTHER (whilst making a fuss of her) - don't know how we're related sometimes, she pops out five babies like it's no bother at all.

Next year I want the baby and I had better be getting a card too (presumably handwritten by DH rather than baby, unless some sort of freak of genetics means we have savant baby who already speaks five languages or something and designs Mother's Day card in Photoshop and composes sonnet to me inside card).

Big hugs to Muser and everyone, am in a group hug/girl power mood (definitely Monday morning) so fingers crossed for everyone. And welcome to Limelight!!

xxxxxxx

Icedlemonmuffin · 15/03/2010 11:31

I was dreading mothers day (mc mothers day last year) but dd really excited, dh did really well keeping the day going as I kept bursting in to tears.

GLB I agree on the mother front mine had eight no problems getting pregnant (none of us planned) or giving birth where as I'm crap at both and got pnd after dds birth and after mc. My mum said pnd all in my head she never suffered (lucky her) I'm eldest and more her parent than she is mine!!

Feel a bit happier today in tww so no planned swi and my new washing machine being delivered tommorow !

Hope every one has a better day today!!(won't name check crap at that but thinking of every one who isn't having a good time)

Unbuffy · 15/03/2010 11:47

Morning all,

glb, totally with you on the whole jealousy of own mother thing. Mine had 4 sections, no problems, girl boy girl boy tra la la; came to scan with me and was possibly more shocked than i was. grrrr.

Life here is returning to normal (still only 1/2 a kitchen) and my blasted brother and sil have gawn (leaving all the washing up and a big mess. Little brothers are always little brothers forever, aren't they.)

Right, who knows about this stuff? If you're squeamish, read no further... What the blue raving HELL is going on with my body?!? I've had indigestion and felt queasy for the past three/four days - gen a good sign with me -, need to pee lots, and masses of egg whites since about day 7 but no real idea of ov day. and now (day 20) i have left sided pains (reeeeally bad ones) and first thing either TMI ALERT masses of egg whites or leftovers from last night. (If the 2nd then obv no problem !). Plus (oh what a mix) i feel really emotional and hormonal and tired and everything. I know it's only day 20, but if last month is anything to go by I'm well into 2ww and i'm well confused.

Any suggestions?

Unbuffy · 15/03/2010 11:55

Icedlemon crossed posts - EIGHT?!?!? And i thought 3 siblings was tough...

spottysox · 15/03/2010 12:27

Hello, I'm still lurking here although I'm still waiting for mc/erpc hope that's ok. My cat had kittens yesterday and I am jealous OF A CAT
Icedlemon fx for 2ww and happy new washing machine.
Unbuffy I have ov'd on d18-21 on cycles in the past could you be having a long one??
Littlemiss72 When ttc dh didn't know what days he HAD to perform I kept where I was in my cycle from him so he wouldn't feel stressed. I'm sure he susses when the matching sexy undies come out though.

BunnyBaby · 15/03/2010 12:30

Hello all you SWI's and agree with not White knowing what is coming out. Egg whites or his 'stuff'.

As I had a short cycle last month (damn hormones) have begun SWI earlier should I be ovulating earlier.

Poor DH finished his performing last night ( he loves it really everyday so is dead pleased) but as he rolled off he said 'thank god for that, I felt like a gerbil about to fall off it's wheel'. I laughed so hard I nearly ejected all our good works. To make it even more funny he also said 'here's's to lots of hairy little gerbils' which made me laugh even more as I was thinking of giving birth to smooth pink babies, not hairy rodents. Anyway you may find it funny (or not).

Have a lovely day all. My diet starts today as have comfort ate half a stone since my mmc (almost two months ago now).

Goodluckbear · 15/03/2010 12:59

Spotty and Bunny - I just snorted my diet coke out of my nose laughing, it's made my eyes water and everything.

Jealous of a cat - I remember someone saying post Christmas that they were jealous of the virgin Mary as "she got a baby without even SWI".

Unbuffy - I have no suggestions, just keep SWI until told otherwise I guess?? My body is being weird post mc, like, really weird, so you never know what it's up to.

xxxxxxxx

HappyGirl1 · 15/03/2010 13:25

Does anyone else just wish time away? Like now that we SWI'd late last week at the right time all I want is to test. Yesterday when at the MIL house I went to the loo 4 times in an hour not having drank anything beforehand and naturally my mind starts wandering. Clearly at only day 18 it's nothing and I'm over imagining things and lots of wishful hoping but I just want to know. I just would love a baby for us so so much and the unknown is just awful.

I thought I had passed the teary stage and burst out crying yesterday afternoon mostly cos I thought this mothers day I'd be an expectant mother. Today I'm here and all I want to do is cry. Naturally today DH is really busy too so I'm just so not motivated in work at all.

Gi1da · 15/03/2010 13:59

Gaah I am having trouble today too and feel like a right bitch. I had planned to visit and tell my parents yesterday about the baby (would be 13 weeks), then come in to work today, announce the pregnancy then go on holiday for a fortnight next week. Now its all tits up and I feel cheated. I've even cancelled my holiday as I now want to wait till its time for SWI - though no idea when RTD will arrive - for sure!

A colleague who I am friends with is back today from 3 week honeymoon and I haven't even gone to see her as I can't bear all the happiness. I bet she got upduffed during her safari too harrumph. I'm more Grinch than Gilda today!

Spottysox - Jealous of a cat? Perfectly reasonable. I broke down during LambWatch!

Unbuffy your TMI had me laughing for the first time today! Thanks :-)

Unbuffy · 15/03/2010 15:02

Cheer up post for everybody! Here are some of the lovely gorgeous gooey brownies that I made for myself everybody at the weekend. And which I have only just tasted (although have eaten many ) as my cold has just subsided enough to taste chocolate again!!! Hooray! Double chocolate brownies and cream for everybody! (It's the Jamie Oliver recipe if anyone's interested, dead easy and on t'interweb). Extra rations for G1lda, Happygirl and anyone else feeling it today x

Unbuffy · 15/03/2010 15:05

And a joke.

Odd one out:
Baked beans
Soya Beans
Vibrator

Only one is NOT a meat substitute...

HappyGirl1 · 15/03/2010 16:16

Thanks Unbuffy :-)

I Just had a custard cream (my third of the day - how bad!) and that's kind of cheered me up I guess.

I just want us all to be happy so much

VivClicquot · 15/03/2010 16:21

A very quick one from me to say hello. Day nine here and I'm bored bored bored waiting for things to get interesting. DH is away on business for the next couple of days, so am counting down the days until he gets back and then we go for une weekend avec beaucoup de vin et SWI en France...

We went to visit my best friend this weekend which meant Mother's Day was very un-Mother's Day-esque ... which is just how I wanted it. Still earnt beaucoup de brownie points with MumClicquot by sending her a gorgeous bouquet so I think I did well to escape the upsetting intensity of it all.

Anyway, hope you're all well. Much love and kisses to all

xxx

VivClicquot · 15/03/2010 16:26

Oh and a joke for all you lovely mums to share with your children (my friend's little boy found this hilarious at the weekend)

Q: What's brown and scary?

[dramatic pause]

A: [Shout at the top of your voice] Poo!

clareanna · 15/03/2010 16:40

Hi all - welcome limelight
totally agree re jealous of mums- mine actually said to me "I don't understand it- I had 4 babies and it was the easiest thing in the world - I can't believe you're not the same" words of comfort indeed.
Unbuffy am also eldest of four and don't get me started on little brothers... Your cm watch very interesting- not a cm expert(!) but would think the fact you're producing it is good sign?! My body is still not behaving I don't think, if this cycle is regular last week should have ov'ed and no real cm changes at all- so am not very hopeful. However like happy the tww is tough and I still want to test asap!!!
Sorry for all who found yesterday tough- it's not mothers day in USA so this appears to have given dh an opportunity to ignore it- he is still on stag do in Vegas though, so hopefully he will return a slot machine millionaire... Not hungover and broke.
Spotty and bunny thanks for the giggle- ruddy cat and its' fertile ways- how very dare she?!

liahgen66 · 15/03/2010 16:56

Hi all,

Welcome limelight sorry you have found your way here. It's a good place to be, all manner of emotions over here

Well my heavy period stopped abruptly Saturday night so we are now officially ttfc again that was a very short few days off. I did have a moment or 2 when I wondered if i could be upduffed but have put that stupid thought away and will concentrate on this month and a Christmas baby. (please)

Have decided I want some kind of little venture apart from my Doula work, my littlest dd will be starting playschool at easter so have thought I will make cupcakes.

Here are some for you to try, I've made lemon with lemon cream whirly topping and some chocolate ones witrh choc fudge topping, let me know what you think. Zero calories

OP posts:
Gi1da · 15/03/2010 17:09

VivC LOVE the poo joke, it will now forever partner my other favourite joke

Q: What's brown and sticky?

A: A stick

And Liahgen thanks for the no-cal lemon cupcake yumm! Feeling marginally better now, but that's because its just about 5 o'clock and I can almost smell the glass of wine waiting for me at home. It's organic - surely that makes it a good thing? Still pretty miffed at that doom-laden public no-fun information film about ladies enjoying a glass of vino or two. Rousing chorus of How VERY dare they! I am assuming I can happily guzzle my wine now as I intend to spend most of this year upduffed therefore on average consumption I'll be quids in!!

liahgen66 · 15/03/2010 17:13

good idea gi1da Me too, I may indulge this evening too.

My dd (2 and half) has a standing joke

why did K( my friend) cross the road?

I don't know

Cos she's a biscuit

OP posts:
HappyGirl1 · 15/03/2010 17:50

These jokes are really cute and giving me a smile - thanks ladies! I'm afraid i've no dc's to be able to have ones to share too and my youngest niece is too young yet to talk!

I'm after giving up tea in the hope that that might help even though i know there is no evidence to suggest it will do so feel free to laugh as you enjoy your tea! But problem is I'm finding that as i drink my hot water instead it's a constant reminder although what am I saying, babies are all I think about now. Even when planning weekends now it's like oh but if were preg then we couldn't go visit so and so as they'd know we were preg if i wasn't drinking etc.. it's just your whole life seems to revolve around it.. obviously hopefully worth it in the end though..

I'm with you liahgen66 - that's what's getting me through, if RTD does come next week then going to focus on a Christmas baby.. definitely but a late November baby would be pretty cool too (sorry I can't help but hold out some minute hope for next week)

thefatladyscreams · 15/03/2010 18:03

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing and NOW I REALLY WANT A LEMON CUPCAKE! [spoilt brat emoticon].

Gi1da - completely contradicting all that medical advice but the only two times I've got pregnant was when I was having a glass or two of vino. BFNs for all the months of abstinence!

Loving the jokes.

I ended up getting jealous of half the cast of Eastenders who all seemed to get up the duff!

Welcome to everyone new.

Goodluckbear · 15/03/2010 18:06

HappyGirl - ah yes, I do that too - "so if I got pregnant NEXT time then when would I be 12 weeks..." and so forth. Can't help it....

How about decaf tea? I'm thinking of getting some of that, due to compulsive tea drinking disorder (8 cups on Friday, bit of a worry). I did try some decaf tea recently and it actually was just fine, in fact it tasted like tea. Not sure what I was actually expecting it to taste like.

xxxxxxxxx

Unbuffy · 15/03/2010 18:06

Sorry for excessive cm-watch (Live With Kate Humble ) Clareanna, have only recently discovered the joys of Working Out What Might Be Happening and it's just soooooo confusing...

Is anyone watching Lambing live btw? Have done night lambing (was pregnant with dd but unaware, oops!) and it is NOTHING like that - as my farmer mate said, 'BBC straw up to yer bloody eyes and HEATING?!?!?'

Ah well.

Icedlemonmuffin · 15/03/2010 18:16

Yummy just popping in for a lemon muffin or two !!!

My mums favourite line is 'when I was your age I was on number 7 I just don't understand what's wrong with you ?' bitch

on the subject of cm- watch told dh all about cm and I thought he was going to pass out!
