Ok, feel a bit scared actually starting the new thread but here we are, for however long (or short) our time here may be.

Off you go ladies. Welcome () one and all.

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 03/03/2010 22:25

Thanks. It was awful cos we thought we were nearly 12 weeks so were telling everyone (including our 2 DS's!) and then we discovered that our little one had stopped at 8 weeks. You feel like you've ben living a lie for 4 weeks, but of course I know I wasn't really. I still had preg hormones pumping through me and I felt very pregnant. Awful moment when they tell you no heartbeat .

But it did mean that I didn't have to go through the actual physical loss cos they said it could take another 2 weeks to come away by itself (I couldn't wait that long once I knew.) So I went for the EPRC (similar to D&C).

I feel awful for you, being away from home etc. I think to lose a pregnancy is just totally devastating no matter what stage you are at or how it physicaly happens - at the end of the day as soon as you get that BFP you start projecting forward and working out dates and making plans (even if you try not to) and to have that taken away in an instant is so crual. Take care.

hippychick66 · 03/03/2010 22:37

Another way of knowing if everything has gone is to do a preg test. I got a faint second line after the EPRC but eventually after a week or so i got a negative preg test. Which is heartbreaking but necessary to know.

I wanted to see the negative so that if/when I get preg again and I get a positive I will know it is real and not old hormones hanging around.

A word of warning though - it is so hard to see a negative - like a slap in the face .

CCBloom · 03/03/2010 22:38

Newcastle16 sorry that you've found yourself here but you are in good company. I had my MC at 6 weeks too. Mine was a bleed and I saw my GP who referred me to the Early Pregnancy Unit at my local hospital and they performed a scan and a urine test both of which confirmed I had miscarried. I had to do another pregnancy test 2 weeks later to confirm that I had lost everything and that test was negative so then just had a general follow up conversation with my GP about how to deal with things emotionally and dealing with what had happened. Don't know if that helps you understand what will come next for you but hopefully gives you some idea?

hippychick66 · 03/03/2010 23:27

Hi to all. Just off to bed but wanted to ask if anyone rates this flippin' book - Taking Charge of Your Fertility: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control
by Toni Weschler. It seems to be mentioned on so many threads.

I do know the basics but if it will help get the ball rolling again, I am prepared to splash out on a second hand copy from amazon - "oh get you Hippy - last of the big spenders" .

Any good???

In the test zone and contradicting myself at every turn.

I promised I wouldn't spend a fortune on testing and would wait until day AF due and if it didn't appear by lunch time I would test. So here I am four days before with wee stick in bin and a BFN.

Now I'm in the self debate of, well it's a no so enjoy the weekend and try again next month and, it was very early to test so the result isn't reliable.

Previous pgs have always shown early, so I feel it is a no this time but I need to step away from the wee sticks. This is harder than when I gave up smoking 6 years ago.

Arse.

VivClicquot · 04/03/2010 09:40
BunnyBaby · 04/03/2010 10:08

viv slimyak sending lots of dust your way. And fingrs crossed too early to test / late ovulations.

I normally bleed each cycle for 4 days and spot for 3. Following mc is spotted until day 14 when I thin I ovulated. This cycle I'm still spotting on day 10. It's not blood really, just a little brown when I wipe after using toilet. Has anyone else experienced this.

Also run down as just got Ds tummy bug and was ill at work yesterday. Just made it to loo! Working from home today.

littlemiss72 · 04/03/2010 10:23

Hi Girls,

I'm with you on the test or not to test!

Day 28 in the littlemiss house (my stats seem to be a day out) what to do..don't feel anything either way but tempted to head for boots, god this is horrid.

There is a side of me that says 'not this month' so soon after erpc. I'll try and hang it out a few more days.

How you all doing today?
I'm going a little stir crazy, been up all night working and have an event at 6pm so need some sleep at some point

Hello, should be today and I'm normally regular as clockwork however wondering if that's not the case after MMC.

Only started TTC in October, pg in early December.

getting pregnant seemed to be the more easy part.. might head off to boots shortly, god knows why! lol

Goodluckbear · 04/03/2010 10:59

Bring out the elevenses - particularly for newbies and for slimyak and Viv. Big slices of chocolate cake from the trolley. Save the scones for afternoon tea.

Sorry guys, but still fingers crossed anyway - it's not over until you get your AF after all. I really hope!!

littlemiss72 · 04/03/2010 11:03

Well said bear it's not over until that cow arrives..if ever. now pass me the cake woman

pumpkinjoy · 04/03/2010 11:19

Hi everyone-am new to this thread-have been reading all your posts. I think its fantastic that MN is here and there is all this support out there. Especially since it means not having to offload ALL the time to DH. Anyway-how do I post my stats?-Just do it??! Have been TTC for so long so I suppose WTF!? Currently CD 12. All tests have proved so far inconclusive so have gone privately. Sometimes think I may go Mental MAD!! Help would be appreciated-you all sound soooo nice! xxx

VivClicquot · 04/03/2010 11:22

Ha. I remember last month, I told MrsRigby off for testing early after she got a bfn, followed by a bfp. I never take my own advice.

ps - I forgot to say welcome to newcastle. I'm so sorry you're here - especially as it sounds as though you've had a traumatic time of it - but am glad you've found our lovely little haven. Hope you're taking it nice and easy.

Mummy369 · 04/03/2010 11:36

Hi Everyone,

I have posted a couple of times on this thread (was originally on due August thread with lots of you) but am feeling very shy here. Have had lots of 'virtual' conversations with many of you (as in, have replied in my head! ), and joined in with the wine-drinking of course!

We're really WTTC (#4) as I'm not ready MMC diagnosed 20/1/10 should have been 11 wks but baby stopped growing at 7 wks. Things 'happened' naturally a few days later and I finally stopped bleeding last week. Still some spotting continues and CM has started up again but no signs of OV or AF.

Does anyone else hate these random tummy pains you get that you know are not baby?

boodleboot · 04/03/2010 11:47

barrenbrook YAAAAAY. fabby news hun. Hop over to us grads when it feels a bit more real to you hun....

i had my 12wk scan this week and boodlebean is doing well, jumping about all over the place and generally being adorable. Has the biggest smooshy lips as we saw them so clearly on the scan just like his mummy and my DS Bob....can't wait to see him.....{don't know why i am saying him...i have no idea of sex!)

glad this thread has continued to be such a source of support for all you TTC-ers....i found it invaluable from last april MMC's to Septembers EP to Jan BFP!!!!

keep swi ladies.....

xx

BunnyBaby · 04/03/2010 11:48

Hello Mummy 369 I remember you on the August thread. I also found out we lost our little one on the 20/1/10, also a MMC though I was a week ahead in dates.

I know what you mean about pains. Also I was really sad as bloated yesterday before I was sick and tummy about the size it should be with baby inside.

However, being positive as CD10 today, so me and DH are going to SWI for the next week or so. Really want another LO soon to join DS1.

Will definitely have some (virtual) cake after real lunch.

tetleytea · 04/03/2010 12:51

Hi all, just sneaking in to take my name of the list....decided to avoid this month by month countdown... got to lower my expectations a bit...

Congrats barrenbrook All the best for a boringly uneventful 9 months.

Crikey TFLS you gave me a bit of a turn too. Got the thread up, saw your name on it and freaked! So glad you're just popping in. A big wave to your wee bump and really hope you get your scan soon, by whatever means necessary

Waves to hippy alba and jollster

tetleytea · 04/03/2010 12:54

We will see

hi to everyone.

OP posts:
wannabeamum · 04/03/2010 14:38

Hi Guys
massive congrats to Barrenbrook - thats bloody lovely news!

We are back to SWI, is it only with intent if you are every other day - not quite there yet. Havent seen AF since the MC - but that was only 3 weeks ago, so I guess I am in for a wait. I feel strangly like Im ovulating - but for way longer than normal? Is that possible or am i going crazy? Also, does that mean I should cut out the bad stuff (eg wine) just in case??? Help! When I fell last time i tested before AF was due and got a BFN so drowned my sorrows for 3 days and then tested a couple of days later and got a BFP and felt terrible for having had alchol.

VivClicquot · 04/03/2010 15:17

Liah honey, I reckon you should do a test if you've not done already.

Wannabeamum - I'm not totally cutting out the wine, but at the same time, I'm not going overboard either. I had a glass last night, even though I was (and still am a bit) wondering whether I'm pregnant. I'm sure many people will think it's not worth the risk, but I've always been in the 'one glass of wine every now and then is fine' camp.
