Hi ladies, thought I should do a quick catch up!
Was very excited by Sabs news that I have my moment of fame in the MN guide, first I've heard of it, but shall be dashing down to the library on Monday to see what pearls of my wisdom they have chosen to share (I hope it's not about poo ). Sorry to hear Saara has been under the weather , there's a lot of sickness around, DD had a week of nursery last week with a dodgy tummy. Maybe you could adapt the BRAT (Banana, rice, apple, toast) diet for babies to help her get over it? We started the wenaning journey with DS last week, he's not quite sitting unsupported, but seems fine in the high chair. We're trying BLW (DD did about half and half with purees). He didn't seem all that keen at first and the first few meals just smushed the roast veg over the tray. However he enjoys sucking a rice cake to death and has defiantely swallowed some steamed carrot and sweet potato - the evidence was in the nappy!!! He was totally not impressed with steamed broccoli, you'd have thought I was trying to poison him by the expression, funnily enough I remember DD loved it . He also likes banana - just a word of warning though banana stains like nothing on earth, even vanish can't get it out! The best method if they are self feeding is to strip them to a nappy first, or maybe feed them in the bath . Pear is the same too.
Nice to hear from mrskate, scary birth story though, but glad to hear things are getting better.
I should join in the Neeko sweepstake, shall I say 1/4 , I'm sure you won't be made an April fool though, someone else is bound to win! Best of luck, I shall be thinking of you. Glad to hear DD is on the mend from the pox. Oatmeal baths really help with the itching. I'll be amazed if we escape it in the next few weeks - it's everywhere around us. We were at a cousins 3rd birthday last weekend and her baby sister came out in spots 2 days later, DS was sat next to her for aaaages, so it's practically a certainty
Glad to hear of good scan news from MLS and iggy . Sad to hear barbie's trials though, fingers crossed for your hospital tests. VJay too, you don't sound right you poor thing, please get some medical advice.
Well done blue on the progress with the sleeping, it's so nice when you find they make a leap on. My DS has finally accepted going back in his bedside cot so I'm getting more sleep too. He's dropped a feed too so now we do a dream feed at 10.30, then 3.30ish then around 6ish when he decides it's wake up time . Napwise (for Sabs) he does about 45 minutes at 10am, 2 hours over lunchtime and another 45 minutes at 4pm - if we're out though he doesn't do nearly as much so can get very overtired by bedtime (a nice bath helps though).
littlebellsmum sounds like some bargainous shopping! I love the NCT sales, even when I don't really need anything I'll pop down for a poke around. I'm a bit anal about keeping all the boxes and packaging for baby stuff and toys etc, because I have it in my mind about reselling them at an NCT sale (or ebay), drives DP mad with all those boxes in the attic
4ever I loved your 4D scan pictures, she looks so scrummy. Hope you get some relief from your SPD, glad to hear you are signed off and can get some rest. It will go after the birth though, you won't be crippled 4ever
Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned. Oh and welcome to thePFJ, we haven't spoken yet, but I'm a terrible lurker. These ladies really are the best. Sending my love too to Jools, Moon, Mermaid, hoping, bakingqueen and ginger - hope you are all OK and not too put off by the baby talk - it will be your chance soon.
I can't believe we're almost at six months already - time has just flown by. Poor DS just isn't getting quite the same experience as DD - I just don't have the time. We took him swimming for the first time yesterday (we took DD from 8 weeks!) he really loved it and didn't even mind being dunked under . I used to take DD to proper baby music classes too, DS gets a free 25 minute baby rhymetime session at the library which I squeeze in between dropping DD at nursery and doing my weekly shop, poor little NSC (neglected subsequent child)
