vjay please please call NHS direct, im concerned that the pain just isnt right...

littlebellsmum · 20/03/2010 20:09

Evening everyone -hope the rain is getting everyone down too much. It's been horrid here today - just raining all day.
However, I got to an NCT sale and bought nearly everything that I still need for BabyBelle. As a helper, you get first choice of the stuff, which was fantastic and as I was the first into the equipment room, I got nearly everything I wanted. Hurrah!! Finished the day with a trip to TK Maxx where I got a travel swing for £18, down from £60. So, I'm now feeling rather smug and rather more prepared. Although a little freaked as I am now nearly 32 weeks and so I've got 8 weeks max or, if DS is anythng to go by, maybe nearer 5....Arghhhhhhh

Anyway, enough about me.

It;s been a bit of a sick ward this week hasn't it - Neeko glad DD is feeling better and vjay your back sounds awful - hope you are managing to get some sleep.

Poor little Saara and sabs - my dd had hideous diarrohea when she was about 6 months old , just as she started nursery - basically, no sooner would she drink milk than it would explode out the bottom end. Luckily only went on for a couple of days but was really horrid to deal with, so you have my sympathy.

MrsMummyKate How well are you doing! Up and dressed and having visitors before lunch - amazing!

Hope the packing is going well, Cupcake - soon you'll be in your new family house, getting the nursery ready, just like Barbie did. Don't wiorry about the labour "rehersal" - it will most definetly be nothing like what happens in real life!

Good to see you bakingQueen - hope you feel better soon.

4ever You're getting near now! I had low iron with DD1 ( how wierd is that to write!!), had to take spatone supplements. Also learnt not to have tea with food as it affects iron absorption but orange juice helps!

barbie Anal probing could only happen to you! Well done for working out the cause of the crying though - I never knew what any of mines cries meant. Hopefully I;m going to be more in tune this time! Oh any as you already know, no baby every suffered from having a bit of formula - they might of from having a tired , cranky and sore mum or not getting enough milk from her but formula, no!
Sorry - I can feel myself getting back onto my "formula is not the work of the devil" bandwagon again. Please remind me of this in a few months when I'm going mad as I can't bf'd!
It's funny that Devon pokes her tongue out like on the video - my dd was sucking her thumb in an early scan and still does and I saw a photo of DS when he was a day old and he was sucking his fingers - something that he still does.

Anyway, got to go - the much mentioned blinds are going up tonight if I can peel DH away from the rugby!!
LOve to all I've missed - esp gracie - I really need to listen to my cd when I get 5 minutes

BlueMoon1981 · 20/03/2010 20:12

evening girls, sorry if anyone was worried, i am still here am worried about jools though

bq nice to see you on top form and sounding chilled, are you still going to the pole dancing lessons?

sabs you've done yourself proud with your mega posts! hope Saara is getting better.

barbie you sound like you're such a natural mum, you type like you've been doing it for years

neeko glad to hear dd is on the mend not long to go now huh...i predict monday.

vjay agree with the others, do get checked out, remember you need to look after yourself as well your dcs please

curly hope you are around and doing ok

know i've missed loads of people out, but hugs to you all and happy weekend

MummyLovesSadie · 20/03/2010 20:26

Oh Vjay your fish story made me cry. How heartbreaking, bless him for digging the hole himself & as for the picture he drew - that's just tragic. I want to give him a great big cuddle. Do you have a local walk-in centre you could go to tomorrow for the pain?

Sabs at that age my dd was having a nap at about 10am for 45 mins, a lunchtime sleep for an hour and a half & an afternoon nap for 45 mins - all babies have a weird 45 minute alarm clock in their head, I have never been able to figure that one out.

Barbie I don't know if you can find an osteo-cranoipath out there but they are excellent for sorting out colic & digestive problems in young babies. I & all of my friends went to the same one with our lo's, she was like a miracle worker. When dd was a few weeks old she was constipated & an elderly relative suggested inserting the tip of my finger with some vaseline on it. I couldn't quite bring myself to do that so I used a cotton bud but only used the very tip & she did a poo within a few minutes! My next scan is on the 30th btw.

Neeko really glad things are getting better in the Neeko household. I think I may have to revise my guess though and I have a feeling you may not be getting so much sleep tonight!

Cupcake I'm glad you have met some nice NCT people, I'm still in touch with both my NCT antinatal & postnatal group. It really does help staying in touch with people who are going through the same as you at the same time as you.

4ever I'd strongly suggest doing both NCT & NHS classes. If you are like me & devour every book & tv program about birth then you probably won't learn much but the friendships you will make with other local Mums-to-be are invaluable.

I'm off now, been feeling very poorly over the last few days which is why I've not been around. Dd has passed her bug onto me & I've been coughing all night & it's not only my nose that is bunged up but my ears & behind my eyes & my chest too. Bye for now lovely ladies.

MummyLovesSadie · 20/03/2010 20:29

Bedtime waves to LMB & Moon.

bluesatinsash · 20/03/2010 20:34

Hi lovely ladies,

Sorry not been on for a few days, just busy, knackered and a bit brain dead !

Had good read through so here goes:

Vjay - felt so so for your DS1 and his fish, made me want to give him a huge big hug . Its torture watching our DC upset, and the uncloaked brutual honesty of their sadness is just heart breaking. Really hope he feels better soon and maybe even considers another fish at some point? Really pleased to read you're going to get your pain checked out, I would try and head to your out of hours tomorrow?

4ever - glad your Mum had a lovely b'day and you had a good meeting with your miwife, if not your hormonal GP or hairdresser (who was also maybe hormonal ? Please baby4ever has bene kicking more to reassure you. How's the hair? I've not had my colour/highlights done since 6th Dec but did manage to semi permanent them a couple of weeks ago which I high fived myself for being able to do with a then 10 week old . Hope your feeling more settled now your work situation has all been agreed and you can officially start counting down to your mat leave and new era .

Neekonearlythere - yay! to your DD sleeping for 11 hours and feeling better, just in time to meet her new baby sister/brother . Really enjoyed Gre'ys last night but fele this series has been a bit off kilter with too many new characters thrown in .

Barbie - don't feel bad about topping up. Devon sounds like a v. v. hungry baby and you HAVE to give yourself a break physically and emotionally. Remember happy mummy = happy baby.

Sabs - I can't really remember much about weaning DS1 other than I started when he was 22 weeks old on baby rice, proceeded to pureed fruit then veg then protein at 7 months. He was an angel sleeper up til then 7-7 but weaning made everything go tits up! He started waking at 5.30am every morning wide awake it was so so hard.. Nap wise, similar to Neeko - morning nap @ 7.30am for an hour (bearing in mind he was up at 5.30am!) lunchtime @ 11.30/12 for hour and a half then evening 4.30pm nap for @ half an hour. He dropped his late afternoon nap @ 10 months and it got added to his lunchtime nap so he had a lovely long nap then which got even longer when he dropped his morning nap @ 15 months and I used to get two blissful DS1-free hours every day to recharge the batteries. . Has Saara done much doorway bouncing today ?

bakingq - hang in there girl. Really feel your time is coming around the corner. Sorry to hear the clomid is making you but it must be doing its job?

cupcake - hope your having fun in Southamptom getting some pracice in with your god daughter . I'm still not sure if I thin your having a boy or girl... Something tells me boy...

Gracie - how was your check up?

mrskate - what a time you had! You sound like you and your DH and well and truly in babymoon though .

MLS - hey honey how are you? Still feeling bleugh I hope?!

Right I'm fading fast now so going to wind up. We finally got Christening venue booked today. So we're all set for 25th April, local church then 5 min walk up the hill to the bowling club for after ceremony partay. Now what to wear .

Took a deep breath last night and didn't bring B in with me when I went to bed. Yes he was in his cot in his room all night and DH was back in beside me, heating my feet up and sleeping like spoons again . B was obviously missing me as I had to feed him at 12am/1am/4am and 5.45am (thank god for comfy rocking chair) but he went back down no problem and seems to really love the space in his cot smile].

Big waves to everyone else. I've not heard from Jools - but she did post on FB that she'd booked a holiday to Washington so she'll be looking forward to that .

night all x

bluesatinsash · 20/03/2010 20:42

Aaargh! I always x-post!

Hey MLS - so with you on the 45 minute ping-awake

LBM - a successful day for you! It was gorgeous up here (central Scotland)) today, really sunny and mild. DS1 had his shorts on .

Hey Moon - good to hear from you x

OP posts:
Neeko · 21/03/2010 07:36

Morning ladies.

Despite more than 24 hrs of back pains and cramps this baby aint for budging Mum says it's because it's going to be a laid back baby but I think I'll probably always be nipping it's head to hurry up!

Vjay Aww bless DS1 and his fish. You shouldn't tell such stories to hormonal women though Hope you're doing something about that pain today.

Blue Was nice here yesterday, but shorts Does DS1 have the Scots blue legs or is he just practising for future kilt wearing when he joins the tartan army? BTW the new doc in Grey's was called Nico in the last programme she was in (can't remember the name) which made me . Yay to having the christening booked and to B sleeping in his cot (never mind the spoooning ). No wonder you're tired, you've been busy!

MLS Sorry to get you all excited for nothing yesterday. You can berate this lo as you have a snuggle when you come to Scotland in your swishy new car! Did you get DD a new bed or did you get distracted by gazing at Phil and Teds?

Barbie Sooo impressed with how in tune with D you are. well done! Echo what the others said that a little FF (or even a lot) won't do her any harm and will make you both happier. She's has the best of the benefits from bm now, although benefits do continue. Don't be hard on yourself. Also to another 3 years. I always had the impression it was more temporary than that. My cousin, his wife and 18month old daughter are moving to Bahrain in next few months. He's lived out there before but think it will be a real shock to hid DD and DW.

LBM well done on all your bargain hunting and hope the blinds look gorgeous. Can we have a pic please? Feels like we have an affinity to those blinds Had a bit of a moment when you said it might only be 5 weeks - wonder if mine will be out by then?

4ever Your post seemed cheerier and more chilled. Hope your DH is pampering you this weekend.

Moon glad you're hanging in there. Know it's really hard when so many of the small panters are AWOL but you'll get your reward soon. Hope you're prediction is right -though today would be better.

Right off to do something/anything to get things moving. Any suggestions? tried the curry last night but couldn't bring myself to try the sex

barbie1 · 21/03/2010 07:50

neeko logged on with high hopes of news from you....bet you are having a boy and a very laid back one at that...my money is still on the 24th so make the most of the next few days.
You might have to force yourself have sex, it might be the only way!

Thanks for being impressed with me, however this little lady is very noisy when going for a poo and can fart very loudly so not lady like at all...must take after daddy
Hence me knowing its when she needs too poo that she cries. Apparently breast fed babies dont get consipatation, they cry because they dont like the feeling
The other day when she cried for ages we tried everything, when we removed her nappy she was quiet so we made the wrong decision to let her keep it off for a while.
We put her on a towel on my knee where she promtly wee'd on me.
Then about 10 mins later i thought she was weeing again so put my hands done to stop it like doh!
Anyway the wee was poop and i was covered, it even some how ended up in my knickers!!! after that she was quiet and feel asleep.....hence me knowing what was wrong!

Neeko · 21/03/2010 08:05

Barbie The poo stoy made me laugh so much! (Hope it's put me into labour!!) DD was fully bf for the first 16 weeks and only pooed every few days. When she was struggling, we found gently pushing her knees to her chest helped. Certainly beats offering your hands to catch it!

Are you amazed by how much you can talk about poo now your DD is here? That really me

Neeko · 21/03/2010 08:06

story

MummyLovesSadie · 21/03/2010 08:07

Neeko got my phone from under my pillow & was very disappointed to see no text from you, tsk tsk! This is where we are getting her bed from & it is bloody expensive but you keep buying extra bits & changing it when they grow so it should last a good few years. We can't decide if we should get her the raised bits & slide yet or if we should wait until she's a couple of years older.

Barbie has she had one of those poo's yet where there is nothing else for it but to hold her under the shower?

We are going to Covent Garden today for dd's first proper trip to London. Let's hope the sun shines.

Lionstar · 21/03/2010 08:49

Hi ladies, thought I should do a quick catch up!

Was very excited by Sabs news that I have my moment of fame in the MN guide, first I've heard of it, but shall be dashing down to the library on Monday to see what pearls of my wisdom they have chosen to share (I hope it's not about poo ). Sorry to hear Saara has been under the weather , there's a lot of sickness around, DD had a week of nursery last week with a dodgy tummy. Maybe you could adapt the BRAT (Banana, rice, apple, toast) diet for babies to help her get over it? We started the wenaning journey with DS last week, he's not quite sitting unsupported, but seems fine in the high chair. We're trying BLW (DD did about half and half with purees). He didn't seem all that keen at first and the first few meals just smushed the roast veg over the tray. However he enjoys sucking a rice cake to death and has defiantely swallowed some steamed carrot and sweet potato - the evidence was in the nappy!!! He was totally not impressed with steamed broccoli, you'd have thought I was trying to poison him by the expression, funnily enough I remember DD loved it . He also likes banana - just a word of warning though banana stains like nothing on earth, even vanish can't get it out! The best method if they are self feeding is to strip them to a nappy first, or maybe feed them in the bath . Pear is the same too.

Nice to hear from mrskate, scary birth story though, but glad to hear things are getting better.

I should join in the Neeko sweepstake, shall I say 1/4 , I'm sure you won't be made an April fool though, someone else is bound to win! Best of luck, I shall be thinking of you. Glad to hear DD is on the mend from the pox. Oatmeal baths really help with the itching. I'll be amazed if we escape it in the next few weeks - it's everywhere around us. We were at a cousins 3rd birthday last weekend and her baby sister came out in spots 2 days later, DS was sat next to her for aaaages, so it's practically a certainty

Glad to hear of good scan news from MLS and iggy . Sad to hear barbie's trials though, fingers crossed for your hospital tests. VJay too, you don't sound right you poor thing, please get some medical advice.

Well done blue on the progress with the sleeping, it's so nice when you find they make a leap on. My DS has finally accepted going back in his bedside cot so I'm getting more sleep too. He's dropped a feed too so now we do a dream feed at 10.30, then 3.30ish then around 6ish when he decides it's wake up time . Napwise (for Sabs) he does about 45 minutes at 10am, 2 hours over lunchtime and another 45 minutes at 4pm - if we're out though he doesn't do nearly as much so can get very overtired by bedtime (a nice bath helps though).

littlebellsmum sounds like some bargainous shopping! I love the NCT sales, even when I don't really need anything I'll pop down for a poke around. I'm a bit anal about keeping all the boxes and packaging for baby stuff and toys etc, because I have it in my mind about reselling them at an NCT sale (or ebay), drives DP mad with all those boxes in the attic

4ever I loved your 4D scan pictures, she looks so scrummy. Hope you get some relief from your SPD, glad to hear you are signed off and can get some rest. It will go after the birth though, you won't be crippled 4ever

Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned. Oh and welcome to thePFJ, we haven't spoken yet, but I'm a terrible lurker. These ladies really are the best. Sending my love too to Jools, Moon, Mermaid, hoping, bakingqueen and ginger - hope you are all OK and not too put off by the baby talk - it will be your chance soon.

I can't believe we're almost at six months already - time has just flown by. Poor DS just isn't getting quite the same experience as DD - I just don't have the time. We took him swimming for the first time yesterday (we took DD from 8 weeks!) he really loved it and didn't even mind being dunked under . I used to take DD to proper baby music classes too, DS gets a free 25 minute baby rhymetime session at the library which I squeeze in between dropping DD at nursery and doing my weekly shop, poor little NSC (neglected subsequent child)

Lionstar · 21/03/2010 08:56

Sorry about my spelling, trying to juggle DS too (well not literally ). Realise that was not a quick post!

Also just read barbie's poo story - ROFL. I had to deal with DS pooing as soon as I took his nappy off this morning. Luckily the nappy was still under his bum, but it was gross - I had to look away until he was finished

littlebellsmum · 21/03/2010 09:21

neeko - best tip is to find something that you really want to do, buy all that you need to do it and I bet you'll never get round to doing it! Worked for me with DD - I bought some fabric for covering some old mattresses to use as cushions in the garden. Nearly 7 years later, the fabric is still in my bag and the mattress are still uncovered!

MLS Weather looks so much better than yesterday, so you should have a lovely day for your trip to London. We only managed to do that last year - might have to try again before this LO arrived.

blue Very about your nice day yesterday. DH even dug the garden in the rain!

Lionstarthefamous I also save all boxes and do then sell things on - got rid of more rubbish great stuff yesterday. Sadly as the kids get older, the boxes need to be kept longer! Also the NCT sales near you are really good and really regular - ours is only every 6 months but better then nothing and you just need to be organized. Planning to take DD to one today to choose a few soft ratles for the baby - as I know they will want to wave something in the babies face, I think it should at least be soft!

barbie the world of baby poo is a lovely one! My ds went in the bath a couple of times - the water seeme to relax him ( but now me obviously) and great story with DD amd DH - in about the first week he was changing her bum and I got a paniced yell to come up stairs. I then found him holding her on the changing table by the legs as this long black slug of poo was coming out and he just didn't know what to do!Clearly being so much more experienced as a parent , I just laughed!

Got to go - need more breakfast! Have a lovely day everyone

VJay · 21/03/2010 12:07

Morning, i did ring the out of hours yesterday, and I will be ringing the doc tomorrow that put the coil in. I'm taking paracatamol and ibuprofin (bad spellings) together now, but enough about me...

blue well done to Ben for sleeping on his own, and well done to you for co sleeping for the last almost 3 months, it's all worth it in the end.

neeko get bouncing lady, I don't care how you bounce, on a ball, over speed bumps, on dh , but just get bouncing

barbie you do sound like you've been a muumy for years, as the others have said, you are very intune with Devon. My niece used to cry everytime she had a poo, my sil talked to the doctors about it but it's just what some babies do. It's not easy to see them in pain though, but it will pass.

mls good to see you and glad your dd is better, but poor you, put you feet up if you can and take it easy. Is the scan on the 30th your 12 week scan?

lbm yay to all your fab bargains, and I can't believe you are nearly 32 weeks, that's all the sticking your head in the sand that's made it go quicker.

moon I've been thinking about jools too, hope she is ok. Her holiday to Washington sounds good. It's good to see you back

lionstarthefamous I will pop into the library too and see if they've got the book, very exciting

pfj how's your poorly computer?

4ever hope you are relxing with dh and having a nice weekend.

We had to visit the Goldies grave yesterday (at the top of the garden) and then go round and tell the neighbours. I'm sure tomorrow he will be telling his teachers, but other than that he's ok now
Happy Sunday

4everhopeful · 21/03/2010 19:23

Quick one from me on phone! Great to see you Lionthefamous wow to 6m! ....Vjay im v glad ur gettin checked out tomorrow hon.... Lbm had to post cos im at u nearly bein 32wks? I thought there was only a week or so between us! Im 29+2 the big 30 on fri! So how far is Cupcake now? Do ya reckon we will all go on the same day & make it a triple whammy?!

VJay · 21/03/2010 19:29

Hiya have just uploaded another pic of Ajay, it's a special one just for us, me and ds1 were enjoying some mini eggs and we very kindly let Ajay play with the empty tube

littlebellsmum · 21/03/2010 21:08

I've worked out why time is flying with this pregnancy - its cos I can't count! I'm going to be 31 weeks on Tuesday, not 32. Not that I'm wishing the time away at all.....

littlebellsmum · 21/03/2010 21:09

Vjay that photo is just lovely! Now you have two photos of you and mini eggs! I've started to buy the little bags as otherwise I eat too many!!

ThePFJ · 22/03/2010 09:35

Did someone mention mini eggs?

Neeko · 22/03/2010 09:37

Morning!
Yes, I'm still here Love to come on to lots of posts though.

MLS wow that bed's a cracker! Don't think I'd do any sleeping if I had that Sorry London was not as good as it should have been. You're officially over the 11 week mark now though!!!

Lion Lovely to hear from you. Glad you're still talking to us now you're famous Can't believe your DS is 6 months! Where has the time gone? Hope you manage to escape the pox - DS should be ok because you are bf him (I think) assuming that you have had it. The chemist gave us an antihistamine and aqueous cream with calamine which were much better than the calamine lotion. Bicarbonate of soda really helped in her bath too. We're just left with the scabby bits now (yuk!) but hoping they'll disappear in the next few days.

LBM All I really want to do is give birth and I'm all prepared for that Found your miscalculation very fumnny - you can't help but love a trier!

Vjay Been bouncing, but not "there" No results so far although cramping pains are back so there's definitely something going on. Had a at DS1 telling the neighbours - bless him. Hope you get sorted out on the pain front today. Also love the photo of Ajay

4ever keep an eye on that LBM trying to sneak ahead

Cupcake should be practising her pushing and breathing at her class now...

Keeping Dd off nursery for one last day today. She's no longer infectious but would rather err on the side of caution. Mum coming for us later so DD can play with her cousins and I can put my feet up. Pouring with rain here too - to think Blue's DS1 was wearing shorts two days ago!

Neeko · 22/03/2010 09:38

Hey PFJ Welcome back. Is your computer fixed now? How you feeling?

ThePFJ · 22/03/2010 09:53

blegh?

Neeko · 22/03/2010 09:59

Aww Sending you hugs and mini eggs. You know we're here if you want to talk/moan/rant/stamp your feet.
