littlebellsmum · 15/03/2010 10:31

MLS I'm sure everything will be fine . I also had brown bleeding from about week 5 to 10 and whilst it was a total mind , BabyBelle is kicking away madly now and seems fine.

More hairstrokes from me...

cupcakefairy · 15/03/2010 11:37

Thank goodness for that. MLS you poor thing, must have just had your heart in your throat since yesterday. Can't believe dh left you to it, on mothers' day too but just so glad you and baby are ok that's all that matters!

Thanks so much for all your lovely words ladies. Dh was so sweet last night; he had his hand on bump and said that he'd reached the point where it felt totally real now and he couldn't wait to meet his baby

neeko hugs to you on a sad anniversary they are so strange to get through.

barbie reassuring hairstrokes for you as you head to the hospital.

Annie I second Neeko that it's lovely to see you all refreshed and happy-mummy-like! well done E and Mr Annie!

Sabs hope Saara gets better the poor love must be so worrying for you but don't let silly doctors make you feel bad for caring!

Moon hello we are so glad to be there for you it's an absolute pleasure and you are not a fool!

We've made a proper start on packing now (well, dh has while I knitted and bossed him about, hehe) and I am having to take deep breaths and put up with lots of mess for the next couple of weeks!

Meeting my friend's 3 week old little dd tonight, eep!

littlebellsmum · 15/03/2010 11:51

Fantastic news - so pleased MLS

Now Neeko - get back to persuading your LO to leave it's comfy home!

MummyLovesSadie · 15/03/2010 13:42

Hello everyone. What a day. I was more scared this morning than I've ever been in my life, I totally freaked in front of my poor little dd who ended up crying too. Thank you for all of your thoughts & prayers & virtual hand-holds today. I had my first tummy scan today! It took the sonographer about 2 seconds to say everything was fine. Hopefully I can last until my 12 week scan in two weeks with no dramas.

Barbie hope your hospital appointment went well, come back soon & tell us.

Neeko thanks for texts this morning, I thought I was about to tip over the edge into madness & was so close to actually calling you! Sorry you are having a sad anniversary today, I hope your little wriggler is giving you lots of (squashed up) wriggles to comfort you.

Sabs don't ever let a doctor make you feel like an over-paranoid parent. You absolutely did the right thing by taking her. I know it doesn't seem like it now but bugs are a good thing as it strengthens their immune systems. You do need to get these things checked out though as it is so worrying when they are not eating/drinking & behaving so out of character.

Waves to everyone else, will post properly tonight.

P.S. have posted a pic of my bump from today!

VJay · 15/03/2010 13:44

Neeko · 15/03/2010 14:00

MLS Call me?? My God and ruin the mystique! Think it'll be really funny when we do speak as your voice will be nothing like I imagine.

Vjay glad you had a nice weekend but sorry about the pain. Can't you get an appt any earlier?

Annie Hope you and E enjoyed the swim.

Cupcake it is a strange thing to get through and MLS's experience was so similar to mine, except for the outcome , that it felt like living it all over again. Had a at the thought of you directing proceedings with knitting needle in hand. I'm hoping to finish my cardie tonight or tomorrow.

LBM Any tips for persuading gratefully accepted

Any news from Barbie?

I love that this thread pulls together in a crisis. Can't believe it's only almost a year since I found most of you.

Hi to everyone else.

Neeko · 15/03/2010 14:01

X-post. Thanks 4ever Baby very wriggly today. think he/she must know.

cupcakefairy · 15/03/2010 14:29

MLS yay for tummy scans and bump pics! Holding your hand these next two weeks, I just can't wait to hear all about this pregnancy and your much longed-for lo

Neeko forgot to say I'd love the knitting pattern if it's an easy one! I really want to get better and do cardigans etc but trying to walk before I can run! I'm hating not being able to find clothes in my favourite colours for lo (brown and green and orange... why must everything be white, beige and pastel colours??) so would love to make them myself.
The bootees I'm going to attempt don't have a proper heel by the way so nothing complicated just two sides sewn together!

Neeko · 15/03/2010 14:37

Cupcake Will try to type it out and email it tonight. It has to be easy as this is the 4th time I've used it.

Anyone else want a copy? It's very plain - honestly.

iggypiggy · 15/03/2010 14:51

I have just started knitting a hat - haven't knitted for year

I would like it too Neeko!

barbie1 · 15/03/2010 14:54

.....and breathe

I think i was more frantic about mls while sitting waiting for my heart appt! Thankgod (sorry cupcake ) that is was the outcome we were all waiting for. Im sorry i wasnt around when you needed me ...i could of told you about my bleeding around the same time to reassure you, thankfully you didnt need me. Nice bump pic by the way.

So much to catch up on and so little time, so sorry in advance for lack of personals....

vjay happy belated birthday, i did try to get on but Devon is having her three week growth spurt and after posting during the night feed on sat night she fed constantly without going to sleep from 3am until 9.45pm sunday night, we were both so so so tired, grumpy and fed up. In fact i did have a little cry in frustration as i felt a bad mummy cos she was crying so much and i didnt know what to do. The worse was when she did one of the cries that make them sound in agony and they almost stop breathing, i was screaming for dh thinking something was wrong with her ...sab i can totally relate, at that point i nearly rang the hospital thankfully she is calmer today and behaved while at the hospital.
In her defense she did buy my first mothers day card and some yummy chocolates so all is forgiven

cupcake fantastic that you are finally starting packing, the move will soon be here and you can start making your new family home...happy days x

I have to go back to hospital in two weeks and stay in for the afternoon. I have to be sedated and swallow a wire which will monitor my heart for an hour and see how big the hole is. Then i have to return in a month for a stress test the one where you are wired and have to run on the treadmill...
After that i get to decide whether to go ahead with the operation to repair the hole.
The biggest threat to me at the moment is the blood flow that is going the wrong way sometimes can develope a clot, if that goes through the hole it will go straight to the brain....and if that happens it can cause death!!!...however the change of clotting is remote. Big descions to be made over the next few months, but for now im not going to think about all of that.

I will try to come back later and reply to the rest of you, oh 4ever lovely 4d scan, beautiful to watch eh?

bluesatinsash · 15/03/2010 14:55

MLS - neeko txtd me this morning and I was SO relieved for you. So can relate to your utter fear and dread but in my heart I felt it would all be OK. Loving your bump pic too .

Neeko - for today and the one year on residual sadness. I think you might be right and this lo is too cosy to come out .

barbie - thinking of you at your appointment x

Vjay - I totally forgot to wish you a Happy B'day yesterday - bad blue! Hope you had a lovely time in Edinburgh and managed to avoid all the Scotsman in their kilts after the rugby . I had to share a train home with half of them, soo not used to be amongst that many men

Sabs - what a worry you've had with Saara and of course you're going to want her seen asap. She will bounce back, they are very resilient!

Better dash, doing housework whilst B sleeps and DS1 out with Mum

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 15/03/2010 14:59

x-post barbie - you sound very brave and strong. Least you have time to think about what is best for you.

I can so picture Devon's cry, take comfort in her crying should peak around nine weeks then get less and less and more predictable (i.e. you will know her tired cry from her grumpy bored one). Ben used to scream in his first few weeks but is becoming more and more chilled - yay!

Right I'm deffy off this time

Sabs1981 · 15/03/2010 15:12

mls so relieved that all's OK with lo. Now please take it easy and tell DH to look after you. Thanks for texting me to let me know neeko Hope you're OK today

Thanks for letting us know how your appointment went barbie You're having to go through so much, I dont know what to say to you Think I'll just send a hairstroke your way. By the way having a baby is one the best ways to make friends. I've been living in this borough for nearly 5 years, but as a typical Londonder, didnt really know people locally. But having Saara and going to the local childrens centre etc is a great way to meet new people and compare birth/sleep/feeding/teething issues. Me and Saara had our first mother and baby yoga class last week, a morning session which means having to be out of the house before 10am which is hard work but she liked the class so we'll be going back hopefully

Thanks to neeko gg mls blue and others for your kinds words. We were awake at 5am changing nappies, vest and nightgear - S has been through at least 10 vests the past couple of days - but she's feeding much better today and she still had diarrhea today but its not as much as the past 2 days so hopefully its clearing up. She also had a bit of diarolyte yesterday that the doctor prescribed, but is refusing it today. DH is also off work today with a stomach bug so I have 2 babies to take care of! Also thanks to mls and mermaid and others about advice regarding Saara's excema. The cream that the HV advised seems to be helping so that's good. I also had another question I hope you dont mind me asking, but I feel like if I post it on the Sleep section, people will probably laugh at me. S normally sleeps on her back, but recently she has been rolling onto her front in her sleep. We have been waking in the night to check her and we put her back on her back, but that does wake her up sometimes. Should we just leave her to sleep on her front? I'm scared of cot death (I know, I'm being so paranoid - someone slap me)

cupcake I just went 'awwww' to myself when I read what your DH did last night Have fun meeting your friends baby tonight

4ever gorgeous pics of your babygirl

annie good to hear yesterday went well. What a lovely DH. For Mother's Day, I got a personalised card from moonpig - that ad that always comes on daytime TV, some very yummy fresh cheesecake from the place where DH works, with the words 'love you mum' written on it, and we went for brunch - but that was then cut short by Saara not feeling well.

vjay Good to hear you had a good birthday but at the back pain. I really need to go to the GP to sort out out getting a coil fitted but I keep putting it off

sabs waves to curly lbm iggy and anyone else who may be lurking. Havent heard from scamper for a while.

mermaidspurse · 15/03/2010 15:28

mls that is brill, now extra resting, absolutely no dashing around - ha! - make a nice cosy nest on the sofa.

barbie Yes you do sound very, very brave. Am sending you one of my special gold stars The hospital sounds like they are doing everything they should and looking after you.
I often think we are lucky to be born in this century.

4ever love your pictures have a gold star to add to your collection.

blue at you not being used to being around so many men! glad you had a good time though.

right it's my turn again at the skate park. oh joy.

Have a nice cosy evening everyone.
