sabs forgot to say hope saara is feeling better, and yes drs are bloody good at making you feel like a div.
I took ds to a&e with 'a broken toe' yeah right mermaid but better to be safe than sorry.
re her sleeping on her front, I am thinking as she is old enough to roll over - clever you saara - then she should be fine.?

My cousin reminded me that it wasn't that long ago that the advice was that all babies were placed on their fronts!

hope dh feels better too.

anniebigpants · 15/03/2010 15:40

So happy that all is well MLS, i had a gut feeling that it would be. Thanks for letting me know Neeko. Lovely bump pic too MLS Barbie-Sorry you are going through the mill at the minute with worries about your heart, hope it all gets sorted very soon, you are being so brave.

4ever-Love the scan pics, so detailed.

mermaid-Have fun at the skate park! Is it windy and cold in your neck of the woods? Its really cold here today.

Sabs-Poor Saara, hope she on the mend soon. Are you giving her plenty of cooled boiled water-it settles their tums well.
Re sleeping position-as long as she can turn her head easily then there is no problem her sleeping on her front, this was DS1,s preferred sleeping position from 7 months onwards, and i too used to go in and turn him over, and usually woke him and made him very grumpy-HV said just to leave him.

Been for lovely swim with E today-well it was more a gossip with my friend and her baby as we bounced our babes around in the water-E loves the pool and was so smiley, getting changed though was another story..... bless him!

cupcakefairy · 15/03/2010 16:04

Lol! Barbie you really don't have to apologise for saying thank god!! You do make me laugh glad hospital was ok and very sensible to be thinking of it all one step at a time. Gold star.
Thought of you this morning when I heard on the news that a British couple got arrested in Dubai for kissing in a restaurant.. was that you!!

Neeko thanks lovely don't worry if you don't get the time to type out the pattern!

Sabs I did smile at you having two babies to look after hope they both improve soon! Lovely about you making new friends. Dh and I were so excited to meet all our NCT couples- new friends are great, especially ones going through the same things we are

Neeko · 15/03/2010 16:35

Finished typing out pattern (DD has been particularly chilled since she returned from Nursery ) and will email it to Iggy and Cupcake. ASnyone else feeling brave enough? Hoping if you're lurking, hope you're proud of us.

Barbie sounds like you have a lot of decisions to make but know you'll do what's best,
Sabs if Saara is big enough to turn herself then she should be fine.

Blue LOL at you being surrounded by MEN in kilts. Sounding like you're regaining your pre-pregnancy self!

Mermaid "enjoy" the skate park.

Annie Swimming sounds lovely.

MrsKate · 15/03/2010 16:46

hi girls

well what a week ive had {shock}

firstly i want to say thankyou for your messages and im sorry i queue jumped neeko MLS im so happy for you and bubba

4ever what amazing pics

hi to everyone else ive miss and love you all loads il catch up properly later

here is what happen to me starting from sunday 7th march . i starting at approx 1pm with heartburn after a meal at my grans which then started to become abdo tightnings which came every half hour . i just assummed it was baby trying to move round {confused}.i went to pick the cot from my cousins house at approx 4pm and started with headache and nausea dizzyness . pain in abdo still getting worse .contacted midwife who sugessted i get seen at pregnancy assessment unit i grab my half hearted hospital bag that i was going to recheck {blush}

got to hospital had urine test and blood pressure all abnormal . took 3 apptempts for urgent bloods . lucky i wasnt actully in labour but pain still strong and coming every 15 mins . doctor seen me says i have pre elcampsia and need to stay in for observations and 24 hour urine collection . was very embarassing carrying around to toilet my wee i had done all day in only what i could says a a big vinigar bottle.

finally got on ward at 1am still in pain had baby monitor on every 3 hours .

this went on for 2 days with all the same symptoms of headache and abnormal bloods and blood presuure . what was annoying was that we couldnt get a straight answer about what was going to happen one dr would say im find and another would say i need a to get baby out if not better.

on the tuesday 9th dr came round at approx 11.30 and said il be a mum by 5 pm as i wasnt getting any better .{shock}

at 05.09 Jack David was born weighing 6lb 13 oz

spent a day on HDU Jack didnt take to breast at all . i wasnt producing milk as they said my body was in shock . and with him being only 36 weeks .they kept doing 3 hourly blood sugars on him my poor little man had brusied feet from all the pin pricks .

on day 2 still not breastfeeding had every health professional trying to get him and me going lol i only slept a hour that night as was trying so hard to get him to latch on as was worried he had had anything for 2 days . i spent 5 hours crying it was horrible . in the end i decided with support from dh to try jack on bottle feed as he was dropping blood sugar and getting jaundice. he scoffed the lot that made my decions better even though i felt so guilty that it was my milk.

came home on the next day . im now a happy mum to a happy baby xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MrsKate · 15/03/2010 16:54

sorry girls my typing and sp is rubbish .brain not working right lol {grin}

CurlyBigPants · 15/03/2010 17:03

So relieved for you mls. The lovely Neeko textedit me to let me know and me and bambino did a happy dance for you xxx

big waves and emmsys hugs all round

Sabs1981 · 15/03/2010 17:08

Hey kate so nice to hear from you Don't worry about spelling and grammar, its great that you've managed to come on at all! I think someone tagged a photo of Jack on FB - very cute I think the same must have happened to me about not producing any milk but try not to feel guilty (easier said than done i know!) How is your scar healing?

annie swimming sounds lovely! I used to go swimming with my cousins when I was pregnant with Saara and we also spent a lot of time gossiping!

barbie and mermaid sorry I had to dash whilst chatting on FB - Saara had another poo explosion annie I am trying to give her cooled water but she wont take it, not even the diarolyte now. When she has her milk, it has to be a certain warm temparature, otherwise she doesnt drink it - very fussy, just like her dad I can't give diarolyte warm can I? It was to be cooled down right?

mermaid have fun tonight! Hope its not too cold out there

Thanks neeko annie mermaid for the advice re Saara's sleeping - I will leave her be from tonight, and she does look cute when she sleeps on her front I really dont know what I'd have done the past 1 and a half years without you lovely ladies

Hi curly!

MrsKate · 15/03/2010 17:22

hi sabs im not doing to bad at all thanks scar still sore .feel bit down that i cant really do anything . bit of a struggle to bath jack this morning as coudnt pick hime up as didnt take pain killers till late .

put pic of jack on profile . he is still quite juandice having midwife everyday to monitor that and his weight has dropped to 6lbs . but we are all ok

anniebigpants · 15/03/2010 17:38

Sabs- I suppose you could give her the Diarolyte warmed up. Same as the boiled water, give it to her before it is too cool if thats the way she will take it, it,ll make sure she,s getting plenty of fluids into her.

MrsKate-Lovely to 'see' you! You,ll soon be on the mend, give it another 3 weeks or so and you,ll feel back to normal, the pain etc from the scar will be cirtually gone. Make sure you dont do too much as the scar can easily start to open, i had an infection in my scar after E which took ages to clear, and after DS1 i thought i was clever by doing too much not long after my c section and my scar started to open and i had to go in to be restitched
Re the Jaundice-keep J in the light as much as possible, keep his moses basket in front of the window as the light helps to speed up the jaundice clearing.

BlueMoon1981 · 15/03/2010 19:24

mls soooo relieved that everything is ok, was thinking about you at work today, and lovely bump already

mrskate welcome back! glad you are all ok you sound very chilled out and i love jacks little face awwww

littlebellsmum · 15/03/2010 20:07

quick message as I really hope to finish the blinds tonight- sabs have you tried adding a little sugar to the water/ My dd wouldn't drink plain water but a bit of sugar added did the trick. I then gradully reduced the amount of sugar ( it was only ever about half a tsp to 4oz anyway!) and she was on normal, warm water

monkeybumsmum · 15/03/2010 20:30

Evening!
Another quickie from me to say that I'm starting to feel (dare I say it...) a wee bit better, so shall endeavour to come on during the week and try to catch up on what's been going on!

MrsKate Wow, and Congratulations on the birth of little Jack! Hope you are recovering and feeling okay x

MLS Just saw that you'd had a scare, you poor thing, but am SO glad that all is well. You must've been terrified... Lovely pics of scan and growing bump, hooray!!! I keep looking at my tummy in the mirror and pulling up my top to show dh. He just laughs at me now Is a lovely feeling to be finally getting a bump isn't it

4ever Just saw your pics too - my goodness me they are amazing! That must be a great time to have the 3d scan done, you can see so much!

Don't want to be too ambitious as not been upright for very long in weeks so I'm off to lie back down. Big waves to everyone and I shall be back soon sickness permitting!

PS Is this an okay time to be feeling a bit better? Am worried that I should be worrying, but am 11+3, and still on anti sickness meds....

PPS Gracie Thanks for the suggestion of having the phone list, that would be great if that's okay! Have just emailed the address you posted and have put my numbers too. Thanks!

Neeko · 15/03/2010 20:55

Hi.
Found some spots on DD after bath tonight and think she's getting chickenpox! someone is taking the p*!

Monkey Great to hear from you. Think you prob should be starting to feel better at this stage so don't worry.

MrsKate No apologies necessary Glad you and Jack are ok - he's a wee cutie.

Sabs Think the dioralyte would be ok slightly warm. You could also try some vet weak baby juice or well watered fruit juice just to get some liquids into her.

Hi Moon How are you feeling now?

MummyLovesSadie · 15/03/2010 21:04

Cupcake hope you enjoyed your practice cuddle with the little 3 week old!

Vjay sorry you are in such a lot of pain, have you thought about getting depo injections that last for 3 months? I was on the injections for about 8 years - it seems madness that once upon a time I was actually trying to prevent myself from getting pregnant!

Neeko you'll have to post a pic of the cardie when it's finished. I'm still dabbling with the idea of having a go at something. Actually..... could you email that pattern to me please & I'll let you know if it means anything at all to me or if it is like a foreign language?!

Barbie at you having to swallow a wire & at you having to run on a treadmill! Don't they know you have just had a baby ffs??!

Blue ever so slightly at you sharing a train with a load of kilt wearing Scotsmen!

Annie I agree the getting changed/unchanged bit of swimming is a complete faff - you need about 6 hands!

Gracie you can never leave this thread as you are our resident matron & did a really good job on Sunday morning. For those who don't know, she actually texted me back with the number of two local epu's, all by about 7.30 in the morning!

Sabs I repeat - you are not being paranoid! If Saara rolls onto her front in the night & is more comfortable like that then leave her. Once they can roll over you can't stop them rolling into the position they like the best. One thing that always used to make me relax a bit was thinking that in every country of the world, the advice on sleeping position/heat of the room etc is different. In this country they say the room should be 16-19 degrees but surely an igloo in the Arctic or a mud hut in Africa would never be between these temperatures? I'm sure the advice from many countries is to lay babies on their backs or sides or have them propped up so try not to worry that you are not doing it properly.

4ever love the pics of your lo, I bet they are already framed & on your wall! It will be interesting to see how much like an actual pic of her they are once she is born.

Monkey glad you are feeling a bit better, yes 11 weeks is normal to start feeling better. My nausea has definitely decreased in the last week. When is your next scan?

Moon so happy to see you & I'm glad you are not going too far off the radar. It will happen for you soon, I just know it.

MrsKate love the pic of little Jack. It breaks your heart when you so want to breastfeed but can't doesn't it? It's what is best for your baby that is important.

Mermaid enjoy the skate park & the shit coffee!

Waves to Curly, Iggy, Jools, BQ & anyone else I might have forgotten.

I had to tell dd about the baby today as we were in a normal scan room (as opposed to epu scan room) with the monitor high up on the wall & when I said "Look that's the inside of Mummy's tummy", the sonographer said "Yes look there is the baby in Mummy's tummy"! Later on I asked her what she'd like to call the baby & she said "Dr Who" wtf???!

I'm offski as I have a thumping headache & my bed is calling loud & clear.

MummyLovesSadie · 15/03/2010 21:08

Neeko chickenpox? That is a joke, I think someone is definitely trying to test you. You did say that chickenpox is going round her nursery didn't you? You definitely can't give birth just yet then! Has she been complaining of feeling fluey over the last few days?

Neeko · 15/03/2010 21:38

Hi MLS Have done extensive googling and no real risk to baby as I'm definitely immune. She has been feeling really well over past few days but has slight temp and spots tonight. Really hope she gets it mildly as it will be unbearable to be stuck in house with her for 1 wk + otherwise. Poor wee soul.
Will email pattern then off to bed. Night all.

BlueMoon1981 · 15/03/2010 21:46

hi neeko i am ok thanks, well maybe not ok, but you know, still here... sorry about dd having chickenpox

mls i just had to laugh at Dr Who! also had to laugh and agree with you on once upon a time actually preventing myself from getting pregnant, oh how times change hey.

MummyLovesSadie · 15/03/2010 22:01

Neeko, tried to read that knitting pattern & it made me feel sick. I definitely need to go to knitting school.

GracieGirl · 16/03/2010 07:34

MLS I'm just glad to be of help! One of them was my local EPU which I still have on speed dial on my phone, it always seemed to be tempting fate to delete the number. I hadn't realised you were staying in "Gracie and MrsKate" country, until Sunday morning. You could have popped round for a visit! Now that's more scary than just calling Neeko!!

Neeko - chicken pox, now thats just not fair is it?!

MrsKate well done for getting onto Mumsnet between your Mummy duties!

Monkeybumsmum glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.

Now must check the emmsys email to see who's sent their details.

Neeko · 16/03/2010 11:04

Morning.

Moon Glad you're ok and the fact that you're still posting means that you're getting stronger Can't be long now til you need to put your battle plan into action?

Gracie Got the Emmsy's directory. Very impressed that you've had time to do that and copy cds. Amazing what you can do on a laptop whilst feeding!

MLS Try it. It's not hard.

DD definitely has chickenpox although not too severely so far (Touch wood).Makes us lepers for the rest of the week though.

I discovered this morning that I've used ALL my text allowance for this month (600) so there'll be no chatty texts from me until the 20th. Have changed my call plan to unlimited texts starting from then as it seems I use a LOT when on mat leave

iggypiggy · 16/03/2010 12:50

Hello all - just a v. quick post from me to say I had the anomaly scan this morning - and everything was fine
