Hello I'm here too, been feeling so rough for the last couple of days so I've not been on. I still have a rotten cold but feel better than yesterday. Hello to Vjay & Iggy - which spa are you going to? I'm a big fan of spa's I wish I had the time & money to go to one more than once in a bluemooon.

Sending hugs to Neeko who is also feeling rough today & who barely had a wink of sleep last night.

Off to the park to feed the ducks now, be back later.

iggypiggy · 18/03/2010 13:40

MLS am going to the sanctuary - I've been once before ages ago - is nice! Sorry you have a cold - they seem to take forever for me to get over at the mo - so much sympathy from me.

Poor neeko hope you catch up on your sleep soon.

GracieGirl · 18/03/2010 17:24

Hello! I'm here too, but I think you've all gone now. I've just taken Isabelle to meet her new boyfriend Jack! MrsKate and MrKate look very chilled and happy, and they were bathed and dressed before lunchtime, don't they know that supposed to be impossible during the first month!

MrsKate · 18/03/2010 20:07

hi all

thanks for all you advice and support re feeding it means a lot .

Jack loved seeing his girlfriend isabelle gracie

yeah we were dressed but not really functioning well lol.

Sabs1981 · 18/03/2010 22:37

Evening ladies, it has been quiet in here the past couple of days.Hoping the saggypanters are not too sleep-deprived, the bigpanters are getting reassuring kicks, the mediumpanters and getting cute bumps and the smallpanters are busy bd'ing

kate and gracie its so nice that you ladies have each other close by to visit and compare baby stories. And you could even be in-laws in the future I think barbie might be coming to London in September, would be great to meet up with some of you lovely ladies

iggy I went to the Sanctuary last month with my mum and sisters and I cant wait to go back sometime soon! I had the mestizo body wrap treatment done. Which reminds me, my aunt gave me a voucher when Saara was born to for part payment for a treatment, might go and treat myself for my birthday next month!

mls and neeko sorry to hear you've both been feeling rough How are both your DD's doing? mls Hopefully you've had no more bleeding. Did you have nice weather? We've had some lovely weather, I cant wait for summer time as I wont be at work, but hopefully in the park with Saara

neeko When I read your post I thought you were escaping to Asda to have a nap there!

ladies who knit, we want to see photo's of your creations when your done please! I'm very jealous as I'm not creative at all, I can't even draw a straight line without a ruler

cupcake I can't believe you're 31 weeks either Did you order your cot?

lbm How did writing your objectives go? I'm so glad I have a break from doing them. They were so pointless for us at work, noone ever took them seriously.

vjay Hows your back? Are the painkillers helping?

blue great pics of you and DS's on FB

monkey great to hear from you. Come back soon!

barbie was nice chatting to you the other day on FB. Sorry I had to cut it short as Saara had yet another of what I call a poo explosion

4ever where are you? Hope all's OK. Happy birthday to your mum for tomorrow - 77 wow!. Also I cant remember if I said but beautiful scan pic

I also want to add that I always pray for jools mermaid moon bq pfj and also hoping and gingermumi if your lurking that your time will come soon. It must be hard to read all the baby talk on this thread but I hope that you will be joining in our talk very soon

lionstar scamper buddha annie mm curly kisses to your lo's from me please!

Thanks to mls neeko lbm annie for advice on Saara's diarrhea. I thought it had cleared up as went nearly 20 hours without any poo, but I jinxed it because as soon as I texted my mum to tell her, it started all over again. Poor love has been grumpy all day, even at yoga in the morning, and in the afternoon when some friends came over to see her for the first time, but at soon as it was bedtime, she started smiling and playing as if to make up for the whole days worth! She wont take the diarolyte warm either, but I'm going to try again tomorrow. She has been drinking her milk, as the doctor told me to keep on trying, but she tends to have her poo's after a feed so dont know whether I should deprive her of milk for a day and just give her water? Again, as alway, advice gratefully received! Not too sure whether to ring the GP as the docs told me the alternative is to put her on a drip which I dont want. Also the day after you lovely ladies told me it was fine for Saara to sleep on her front, that night she decided to go back to her back! Typical! But since that night, shes back on her front, including her naps. Thanks again for telling me as I've been imparting advice about it at my yoga class as many other mums were wondering the same thing

Oh I nearly forgot! When I went to the library I took out the Mumsnetters guide to Babies (I know how sad, I cant keep away from MN), and its filled with quotes from everyone on the Talk boards on various topics. Well on page 7, there's a quote from lionstar Well I think its from her, as they wrote LionStartBigPants but they cant be many people who added bigpants to their name, can there! I've only got to page 110 (out of 433) but will be looking out for other Emmsys! Its quite a funny book, if you like the Mumsnet-speak

Night all

GracieGirl · 19/03/2010 06:43

Hello Sabs! I've just finished reading the Mums on Babies book and didn't even notice Lionstar's comment, must go and look again.

Just getting ready to go to the GP for my 6 week check. I can't believe Isabelle is 6 weeks today!

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2010 10:55

Morning lovelies.
Wow gracie I can't believe that either how the time is flying. Hope all's ok at the checkup

Sabs yes we did order the cot, the Mothercare bedside one, very exciting it's being delivered to friends though as we move next weekend so won't see it for a while!
Poor Saara still not back to 100% you must be sick of the sight of pooey nappies! Really hope it improves soon and she doesn't have to go on a drip poor love.

Well done MrsKate on being dressed and chilled out

Iggy v of your spa day! I must do something like that before I pop!

my friend whose 3 wk old we went to see on Monday ended up having an emergency op the next day due to an infection in her uterus and losing 3 litres of blood...she's still in hospital now...so scary!

We had our third NCT class last night, on breastfeeding...was very amusing all the questions/comments the men came out with

Big waves to everyone, especially our top of the list lady Neeko and a slightly weebly 4ever xxx

4everhopeful · 19/03/2010 12:03

Morning all!

Sorry not been around! Thanks for thoughts! had a few weebles and a busy week! Worried about lack of baby movements, potential gestational diabetes and have really bad SPD! All alleviated now, bubs done lots of acrobatics to make up for quiet time, & results show our huge girls is just healthily large, not cos of diabetes! Just been very bus, work & hairdressers on mon (tho wanted to punch insensitive girl for saying 4d pic looked 'scary' [grr] & battling to get my grey properly removed via highlights..!) Work announced official redundancy to all on tues (tho mine starts on apr 16th with mat leave) so emotional mixed feelings, then had apt with my insensitive hormonal gp in afternoon that wanted to argue point over everything & was rather patronising.. (my mum reckons she is projecting her own anxiety to me! ) However she was sympathetic to my very painful spd so signed me off til 29th.. Weds I had my ante natal physio class, which was really generalised & out of the 7 women there i was only one with spd so not overly helpful, however now have one to one apt with them next weds.. Yesterday I had an apt with first midwife Iv seen since booking in (as all been consultant) who was v lovely, had rec mc herself (& now healthy 2yr old) & was just great to get the womens touch & restore faith in sisterhood after hairdressers & gp! Agree my cons i great, but 'runs his own show, albeit very well' was so nice to have some 'normal' pregnancy interaction with midwife! I do havesightly low iron though, but diet can help.. Soooooo, busy busy - weebly weebly, bit vulnerable but coming out of other side! DH just told me off for being on PC & not resting! Sorry for me post but thought Id update you all!

Massive love & hugs to all of you! Will do personals & back to mammoth posting best tomorrow I promise! Sabs thanks for happy birthday to mum! Neeko Im now out the sweepstake!

Hugs love & mini eggs x x x x x

ThePFJ · 19/03/2010 12:30

pc problems.. miss you all

xxx

VJay · 19/03/2010 16:51

Hiya, sabs have you started weaning yet? I only ask because ds1 had terrible diarrhea(sp?) and it turned out to be the yogurts I was giving him, I was told to lay off them for a couple of months, his digestive system just wasn't up to it, then he was fine, just a thought

pfj miss you too, get your pc sorted sharpish

Hi 4ever been wondering where you were, thought you might be weebling away somewhere . If your hab=ving lack of baby movements just use the doppler, that's what I did, I had did it loads of times cos I thought I hadn't felt Ajay move

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2010 21:16

Wow it really is very quiet in here! I was expecting to come back to lots of lovely chatty posts hope everyone is just enjoying some well deserved rest and not in pain, weebling or otherwise.

baking lovely to see you glad you are being well taken care of and you're right it will be worth it when you provide Emmsys with their first set of twins [wik]

Vjay sorry to hear the back is still bad I prescribe a hot bath! If Ajay will be good for long enough

I am getting severe rib kicks today...so uncomfortable but somehow I still find it cute to feel Titch moving We are off to Southampton for the weekend to see my bro and sis-in-law, and our friends whose 22month old is our beautiful goddaughter can't wait! Cheerio folks.

Sabs1981 · 19/03/2010 21:18

Evening ladies. Another quite day on here today.

gg How did DD's check go today? Did you have to have one as well? I had to have one with my GP as well as a consultant at the hospital due to all the drama I went through.

cupcake How many more NCT classes do you have left? You must share some of the questions the men came out with! I didnt join NCT before Saara was born but have now joined my local one recently as its another way to meet mums and babies, and best of all, you dont need to pay anything if you join Hope you're friends OK. I lost 3 litres of blood on the operating table after Saara was born, and it was quite scary at the time, especially when on my 6 week check-up they told me that if they werent able to stop the bleeding, I would have had to have a hysterectomy. Has your friend had a blood transfusion, as I did. I was also on iron tablets for a while.

4ever Thanks for the update, we missed you. But yes listen to your DH and rest lots. Also try to keep your iron levels up, as it really helps when giving birth (see my drama above!) My midwife was very impressed with my iron levels during pregnancy, but I just carried on eating as normal, I didnt do anything different. It really annoyed me when my SIL was pregnant and she used to get various calls and letters telling her her iron levels were low and what she should be doing to raise it, but she was more concerned about putting on weight during pregnancy. She does a lot of things which makes me scream inside how lucky she is to have a baby when I know people who would give anything to be able to hold a lo in their arms (but thats a story for another day...and breathe!!)

pfj hope your computer gets sorted out soon...

vjay at still having a bad back. Also, I am so sorry, I feel so bad as I'm sure you and some others have asked me about Saara' weaning before but I keep on forgetting to provide an update. I have been trying to hold out until she turns 6 months (which is now only a couple of weeks time ) When she was going through her phase of not drinking enough milk I did try a few times to give her some baby rice with the leftover milk but she wasnt very interested so I left it. And for some reason I read wrongly that your baby should be able to sit unsupported and as Saara doesnt, I thought it was too early. The reason why I was feeling so guilty about Saara' diarrhea was because a few times I have given Saara very tiny mushed pieces of banana and she's been eating it and before her diarrhea, I did the same, and the next day she developed diarrhea and it hasent stopped I have been getting a lot of pressure from my family to start weaning her early, to give her farley's rusks and honey and water so we havent told anyone at all about these few occasions we've tried to wean her, so please dont tell anyone, its a secret I did read this guidance produced by the NHS that said a way to see if your baby is ready for weaning is to put manageable pieces of banana in front of them and if they pick them up and put it in their mouths they are ready. Gosh it is all so confusing I'm going to a session next week at a local clinic on weaning and also have so much reading material. I do want to try things a bit different from my family, more fruit and veg etc so will be coming to the experienced mummies for advice if thats OK.

bq really lovely to hear from you. Sorry you've been feeling rough, but I really hope you have some good news real soon.

Have had a difficult day today which included Saara pooing all over my clothes . Poor love has been very grumpy but we bought her a door bouncer which she loved and as blue told me will hopefully give me more spare time! (maybe to read all the weaning info ive collated!) I no longer have the luxury of Saara sleeping for 10 hours anymore. I knew it was too good to last and am grateful I had that time anyway for a few months. I've also been taking it in turns with my sister to cooke for my Dad and brother as my mum has been up North spending time with my dear Nan.

Another question I had was how many naps should a nearly 6 months be having and how long should they be lasting for? Will this change when S starts weaning? TIA

Have a good weekend everyone

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2010 21:21

Ah 4ever my lovely sorry I missed you out! How lovely that you had a good midwife but to the hairdresser and GP!
Sorry you've been weebling more but I have to say I do love that a couple of weeks ago you were worrying about your girl not growing enough and now worried about her being too big meaning diabetes relaaaax beaut, she is just fine

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2010 21:38

Hi sabs x-post sorry. I really feel for you with this ongoing saga must be so frustrating for you not knowing what to do for S. Really hope the weaning clinic helps. Sorry I can't help with any of the experienced mummy stuff but will be intrigued to read the answers!
Only one more NCT class, but tis all day Monday (better than work, yippee ) but includes labour rehearsal and postnatal issues like PND so might just worry me more! I've really enjoyed getting to know the other couples & so hope we stay in touch.

I thought of you last night Vjay cos one of the questions one of the Dads-to-be asked was about swapping between boobs & how you know which one to give them...I didn't get a chance to share the safety pin/put baby to sleep the right way tricks though sadly!

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2010 21:39

Oh and sabs yes my friend did have a blood transfusion. Apparently the drama started in MacDonalds & it looked like someone had been murdered in the toilets as she was just bleeding everywhere bless her Thankfully her Mum was with her.

4everhopeful · 20/03/2010 00:26

Thanks cupcake sweetie, i kno i go from one extreme of anxiety to another! The doc def added to my vulnerability.. Cant believe what happened to ur poor friend hope she is recovering now & gonna be ok? How much do the nct classes differ from the nhs ones? Our nhs ones start on the 29th for 2hrs every mon for 6wks.. DH & I really lookin forward to them.. Vjay i was awake from midnight til 4am on weds night in complete panic about lack of movement, was almost scared to use your doppler but relented when DH got up at 6am & so relieved to hear hb! Werent your ears burnin as i was thanking you profusely?! Midwife was great when spoke about it later that day & gave me a gage on whats 'normal movement' for the first time! Sorry to hear ur in pain, hope u had an ok evening just u & your boys while dH away? ...Sabs sorry to hear Saara is still havin poo explosions! I wish i had some words of wisdom to help! I read all the advice avidly! Cant believe your sil not wanting to put on weight rather than up her iron! We went food shopping after midwife & stocked up on steak, mince, spinach, brocalli! Whatever it takes, im huge anyway & just loving my big bump! Im not anemic, just a bit low on iron, she said about tea stopping it being absorbed properly, but Oj helping absorption so will try to cut the tea & have oj before meals! .... It really is quiet on here just back from mums, DH & I took her for a lovely chinese for her birthday & spoilt her with lots of gifts! She so deserves it! Hopefully will sleep tonight, spd so bad last night hardly slept a wink!

4everhopeful · 20/03/2010 00:42

That reminds me, wanting to thank Gracie again for cds, have listened a few times in insomniac/anxiety ridden states & has helped! Hope Isabelles checks went ok? So sweet bout her & boyfriend Jack! ...Mrskate not even said how proud i was of ur bravery reading ur traumatic birth story! You sound like ur coping brilliantly now too! Well done you & congrats again! X ....Right im gettin reassuring boots in my belly to tell me from my girl its time to switch off & sleep! My poor shattered DH is spark out next to me, time for snuggling down... X

Neeko · 20/03/2010 09:02

Morning all!
The worst of the pox is over - hurrah! DD slept for 11 hours last night and if you don't count my usual nocturnal toilet trips and braxton hicks, I had 9! Feels like the sun is shining today, even though it's not

Ok, going to try to catch up - sorry in advance if I miss anyone.

MLS Hope you're feeling better and enjoy bed shopping today. Thanks again for keeping me sane this week and listening to my "woe is me" text rants. It's a good job I'm on unlimited texts now

4ever sorry you've been wobbling so much this week but at least you're signed off for a wee while and it won't be long after that until you start mat leave. Don't worry, with #2 you'll weeble less as your gorgeous girl will keep you preoccupied

Sabs Sorry Saara is still poorly. I don't think the banana is the cause as they advise you too eat that with an upset tummy. Do you have Annabel Karmel's book? I found her really useful when weaning DD and concentrated on veg as bm and f have a sweet taste already. FWIW I think you're doing a brilliant job as a mummy and hope that as time goes on you'll feel increasingly confident in your own decisions. You're Saara's mummy and no one knows her better! As for sleeping, I think by 6 months Dd was about 7.30-6am at night with a half hour about 9am, 1.5-2 hrs at lunch and another half hour about 4. HTH.

Cupcake Your poor friend Hope she's ok. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the class on Monday. Think my DH would have died at the thought of a whole day's class

Vjay I'm a bit worried about your back pian. Please ask them to check your coil and then at least you can eliminate that. Hope your DH got back ok - that's along way to go for a meeting.

BQ Lovely to hear from you but that the clomid is mucking you up so much. Really hope you get it sorted and are perched on the loo staring at a BFP soon.

MrsKate Very impressed with the up, dresed and appearing normal so soon. How's the feeding going?

PFJ Hope you have your PCfixed soon and your coping ok. x

Barbie How's that hungry girl of yours. Still keeping you up all hours? How much longer are you supposed to be over there and where do you go next?

Gracie Did Isabelle continue with her sleep-fest? Hope the 6 wk check went well for you both. Time is flying!

Blue Speaking of time flying, can't believe B is 12 weeks! Hope you've caught up on your sleep too. It's been a sleepless wk on here. Did you enjoy this wk's Grey's? I thought it was fab after a couple of disappointing episodes.

LBM Did you get those objectives done? How many wks are you now - 30ish? Mat leave can't be that far away.

Mermaid Are you still at the skate park? Have you mustered the courage yet? What lovely planty things are you going to be filling our greenhouse with in the up and coming months?

Iggy are you still smiling from your scan? It seems to me that your pg is flying past, but bet it doesn't feel like that to you or your horse!

Moon How are you feeling now? You've gone all quiet again.

Know I've missed loads but DD is full of life and wants me to play. Hope whatever you're doing, you're healthy and happy.

Has anyone heard from Jools?

Neeko · 20/03/2010 09:11

Thought I'd bring the list over as now that DD isn't infectious, I'm hoping there'll be a winner soon.

4ever says 19/03 (my mums birthday)
cupcake says 20/03
Gracie says 21/03
VJay says 22/03
blue says 23/03 (making him/her exactly 3 months younger than B!)
barbie/mermaid say 24/03
Iggy says 25/03
sabs says 26/03 (my brother's birthday!)
ThePFJ says 27/03
mls says 28/03

Had a very sore back yesterday so who knows? going to start back on the RLtea, pineapple, birhying ball etc today. If DH is lucky I might even try that!

Neeko · 20/03/2010 09:13

birthing ball

When my lovely mum took over during the last few days and sent me to rest I listened to the CD. I really like it and have probably listened to it 30+ times now. Fingers crossed it helps.

barbie1 · 20/03/2010 11:44

sorry for going AWOL... managed to lurk, inbetween the constant feeding but with no free arms i couldnt type and reply!

neeko 4 more days hun Although for your sake i hope im wrong and your lo one arrives sooner. Glad you dd is feeling better, sleepless nights arent fun are they ...Bet dh will think his luck is in! Just dont tell him the real reason

sabs yepit was nice to talk to you the other day, my tyoing was slow due to only having one free hand...hope Saara continues to improve, poor love
Yesterday we thought Devon had the start of colic...she was contant crying for over an hour, going bright red, and getting really angry...it made me so sad that i couldnt help her I can cope with her until she cries so hard that she sounds like a mini t-rex, that cry makes me want to cry!
It turns out that when she wants a poo she doesnt like the feeling and will cry until she does it Thankfully its not every time she goes for one (cupcake and 4ever, they poo sooooo much ) but maybe every couple of days bless her. The advice on the internet is to insert a q tip with vaseline into her bum im hoping it will get better before i have to anally probe my poor baby...

I also feel bad because i had to give her a little bit of formula last night She was so grumpy and had been cluster feeding all weekend for about 6-8 hours at a time so my boobs were sore and i was very tired. I couldnt express enough to fed her and calm her.

mls and monkey how are you both ladies? i really hope that you feel better soon....pls remind of your next scan dates so i can make sure im her for you both.

blue lovely pics of the boys on fb

neeko we have three years left here...no idea where we are going next

4ever It seems like ages ago that i last spoke to you! I hope you are upright and enjoying this weekend...Glad everything is ok with your lo, did you get a dvd of your 4d scan? I played mine to death, Devon still constantly pokes out her tongue as she did on the dvd!

vjay any more news re coil???? Im thinking of having mine put back in...seems strange thinking about contraceptives when we all fought so hard to get pregnant in the first place. I hope your pain has eased, im with neeko though pls get it checked out and dont be fobbed off.

baking lovely to see you again, sorry clomid is messing with your head a bit this cycle. I have everything crossed that it will all be worth it in a few short weeks when you find out its been sucessful, you deserve it so much, thinking of you

....as i am mermaid pfj moon and jools....where are you jools, you need to drive your tractor over here and update us, we miss you!

I have to go, dd is finally asleep so i have approx t minus 1 hour to get some sleep in.

Back soon xxx

VJay · 20/03/2010 12:46

Hiya
This pain I'm getting is weird, i stuggle to get out of bed, got to the toilet etc, then today I've been getting pains round the front too, all on the right side, then just 10 minutes ago it all stopped , it's not the pain killers because I took one about 4 hours ago and still felt all the pain. I have been standing up for the last hour ironing, maybe it's the upright position I was in, I don't know.

sabs ask us anything about weaning, I love doing it, I've mentioned it before but I am using Annabel Karmels book, I used for ds1 too, it's got some great recipes in there and meal planners too. It seems like a minefield when you first start, but after a while it soons settles down and feels like you've been dong it forever.

barbie I found it very strange sorting out contraception after having Ajay, like I'd gone full circle.

We had a terrible night last night, the gold fish, 'Goldie', died. DS1 was in bits, it was 8:30 pm and he got his wellies and coat over his pyjamas, and went outside and buried him, it was heartbreaking to watch, he even dug the hole, with his dads big spade, all by himself. He said that Goldie was his best fish, and he doesn't ever want any more pets because they die. Once we were back inside and tidied up he was fine again, I thought he dealt with it well. I then found that he'd drawn on his cupboard a picture of a fish with a love heart next to it, bless him.

Hope you are all having nice weekends, we have been shoe shopping today for ds1, he hates going so we went as soon as the shop opened and it all went well

4everhopeful · 20/03/2010 13:19

Ooh Vjay im worried about u.. Please get to docs asap, that doesnt sound right.. Bless ur poor Ds1, i really feel for him, heartmelt at the picture he drew! ..... Helloooo Barbie my lovely! It does feel like ages! Its been lovely reading about Devon & u sound like ur doin brilliantly! Yea, we got the dvd of the 4d scan & love it! She kept opening her mouth drinking the fluid & even smiled a few times! She seems to love scans & was posing with her little hands under her chin! .....Neeko pleased to hear Dd on road to recovery & normal sleep resumed! Get it in while u can! Kno im out the sweepstake but i predict wriggler will make an appearance before the week is out!

VJay · 20/03/2010 13:55

4ever I will go to the docs again next week I think, the pain is back , Ajay is asleep so am going to get in the bath for a bit
