C'mon girls, this is the year. We will form a circle and concentrate hard on diffment.

Meanwhile, David and Jenson have popped the corks and are pouring out the Bellinis. Truckle of stilton anyone?

OP posts:

Mwuahahahaha we got you with the smileys.

I am now too cool for markets, eadcase. The co-op is about as much as I can manage nowadays without a massive flounce about there being too many people paying too much money for tat made by people in skinny jeans and highly questionable headwear. So if you do happen to see me, I will be the grumpy one with a massive scowl on my face.

Eadwacer · 19/01/2010 14:00

Har! Yup - last time I went down someone was selling iced cupcakes at £2 a throw. Nearly smacked 'em in the kisser.

ginhag · 19/01/2010 14:32

besh thank fuck for that.

twink it's just so they can date it accurately...unless you had an ectopic, then it's supposed to be important to wait. Which is why I'm not supposed to be shagging (WI or just without due care and attention...)

the main other reason for waiting after a mc is to see if you feel any less mental.

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 14:37

Sorry 'bout that - did not mean to post and run, but the old wireless network went down at work, blah, blah...

Igz...I have not been up to a great deal - just Xmas spent between Thatlondon and the countrysoid, and not getting out of bed before 10.30am for two whole lovely weeks ....how was yours? I was out of the loop with internets over the hols, and haven't caught up, although I noted that Scorpette has found the true cost of her jailbait is to be eternally damned to Xmas with the in-laws (Hi Scorps!).

Must confess that I have a bit of a dirty secret AIBU lurking habit, and MIL threads are amongst my favourites...

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 14:41

Hello Twinkler,

I think the advice to leave it a month is usually to help with dates. I got diffed naturally immediately following a m/c (AND I had needed fertility treatment for first updiff after 3 years of trying)

Apart from that, if you feel in the right frame of mind and there is no real reason not to...then go for it! Good luck!

iggypiggy · 19/01/2010 14:45

cho mine sounds identical to yours actually... spooky..

I like lurking on AIBU too... I try not to post - although I did on a fred about dogs and it all got a bit fighty..

Eadwacer · 19/01/2010 15:09

iggypiggy I did an AIBU post once but now restrict myself to lurking and pissing myself laughing. Much of it reads like an Alan Ayckbourne play.

iggypiggy · 19/01/2010 15:15

It is funnier to lurk I find... love it when everyone says they are BU... I like the defensive replies the poster tries to justify themeslves with...

one final question for you ead is your uni East too? Am still convinced you is at my one... but you can work out where I am from previous comments I reckon..

TwinkleToes76 · 19/01/2010 15:26

Thanks all. I haven't decided whether or not to go for it, but my inner voice is screaming 'don't waste any time fuckwit!'. I don't feel too mental, I guess knowing that it was game over for almost 3 weeks before having the ERPC gave me time to sort my head out. But am wondering whether not feeling too mental after a MC is actually a symptom that I am actually quite mental and just burying all my feelings about the disappointment - who knows. I'm sure it will come back to bite me on the bum next month when I don't get pregnant and then they'll be a sea of tears!

Eadwacer · 19/01/2010 15:30

iggy some lass just got an absolute bloody pasting (she'd actually made a GP appointment to discuss their plans to try to conceive!!) but dealt with it quite graciously. I'd've been in pieces. Mind you I'd've not posted such dullard topic...

Now then. Here's the clue to my Uni. The Uni's MAIN BASE (aka 'The Mothership') is actually based outside Lahndahn, despite it being a Uni of London college. But what with being a grown-up I don't go there much 'cos they've got other buildings round Gower St way....

HOW'S THAT?!

WinkleWoes - I'd listen to your inner screaming, if I were you. It's often right...

Muser · 19/01/2010 15:36

TwinkleToes my menkulness seems to come in waves. I feel all fine and then get a wave of DOOM and feel shit again. Thought arrival of period was going to be full on woe, but I actually felt worse during the 2WOOFL. I'd suggest maybe not explicitly trying but just have sex when you fancy it and see what happens. I am fairly convinced I didn't ovulate this month, so all my menkulness was for nothing.

I love AIBU, it's so batshit crazy. Sometimes I post, but mostly I just lurk and laugh.

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 15:37

Twinkie that is exactly how I felt - I was mad to get updiffed again and feel as though I was actually DOING SOMETHING! I knew I would be gutted next time the droid appeared if I had not even tried...also had heard runours of ladeez super-fertility after m/c...worked for me, anyway.

I realised that I was going to feel like shit about m/c, whether I was trying again or not, but that I would feel doubleplusungood if I had 'wasted' a month by not trying.

skihorse · 19/01/2010 15:39

winkle Please read vag's posts last weekend for menkul. Compare and contrast! Just... as we've said before, don't put too much pressure on yourself to conceive this month. All this bobbins about increased fertility - if you don't, you don't. But don't punish yourself further if you don't manage it.

AIBU to ask complete strangers, some of whom are quite clearly menkul and need to get out of the house somewhere other than the school run, what I should do with respect to my career/baking tray/MIL/benefit fraud?

Bessie123 · 19/01/2010 15:39

So chocho, sorry for not getting with the programme but are you updiffed now? If so, have you made a proper announcement?

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 15:40

Muser...good point..although I wanted to get back at it, I was not exactly jumping on the boyf when he came into view, and I smoked and drank like a trooper prior to ov, so not exactly treating my body like a temple (not that I ever have)...so there you go...fagz'n'booz improves fertility...you heard it here first!

Muser · 19/01/2010 15:43

Oh for fucks sake. I am so SICK of the posts on here from people using the 'withdrawal' method or some similar idiocy wondering if they could be pregnant. Maybe I should start using the withdrawal method, it seems to be pretty damn effective way to get pregnant.

idealcamel · 19/01/2010 15:46

Mussy I hear you. Still, at least the withdrawal thread has descended into enormo pisstake.

ead I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE. Or rather, which university you're at.

Eadwacer · 19/01/2010 15:46

cho - HAR! a) congratulations and b) for reassurance on getting updiffular whilst being a human bean. I accept that it's best I don't chain it whilst TRYING (fucking hate that phrase) but I cannot and will not ditch whisky and coffee (although...ALL RIGHT ALL RIGHT....less of the former during the 2 weeks when i might be updiffed....)

Muser - I saw that one. Basically, "I HAD UNPROTECTED SEX; COULDN'T POSSIBLY BE PREGGERS THOUGH, RIGHT PEOPLE, AM I RIGHT?"

Twunt.

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 15:47

Sadly not, Bessie this was yonks ago and did not come to anything, so i'm still a tragic barren, but soon I will having IVF...and then who knows, it could be... "OMG!!1!1!!!!TWINZZZZZ!!11!1!!"

Eadwacer · 19/01/2010 15:48

camel - really??!

So - I've lost track now, sozzles - are you studifying too? iggy is a scientist, snozzcumber is doing Critical Theory, is that right?

Eadwacer · 19/01/2010 15:49

cho - ignore me pliz thanx!

Triplets, why not? Those prams so much better for shoving the rest of society off the road...

idealcamel · 19/01/2010 15:52

I have the Great Unfinished Pile -of-- Wank Thesis That Will Change The Face Of Eighteenth-Century Literature As We Know It. Piddled about in some shallow academic waters for a few years, changed my mind, now work for a Well Known Publishers of Ill-Repute.

Wow, that was CAPStastic.

iggypiggy · 19/01/2010 15:52

eadcase Oh - not here den... that is all thank you...

I fink i did post an AIBU once... does that shame me?

muser did you read Ski's reply on the withdrawal method one? I particularly loved that...

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 15:53

No worries Eadbanger. the boyf's pa was a triplet, but I am not under threat of that sort of nonsense - they only put two embryos back during IVF, thank fuck...I am prepared to accept twins if absolutely necessary, but I can't imagine the hard work in triplets...

...although it could prove to be a great AIBU thread about whether its selfish to have 3 baybeez at a time and then go back for more IVF on the NHS!

ChoChoSan · 19/01/2010 15:55

By the way - this thread seems to be inhabited by quite a few of the east london massive...all from round my enz, innit bruv!
