Here we go, another new thread for us to fill with our highs and lows.

Lets start off with a good dusting of babydust, think all the rest we had has washed off in the rain

phew, feel totally exhausted and my back is really aching, my belly is very bloated can't suck it in anymore, sure i'm making up symptoms now. bit gutted that i dont have any tests for my first wee tomorrow, might have to go and buy a couple to keep me going.

Hows everyones day going??

Xena - do you ahve anything planned for the school hols. think i need to look at my timetables and start planning. are you and accredited childminder??

OP posts:
Diddle · 18/07/2005 16:31

hello strike,

looks like theres a storm heading here too, had 2 mins of rain but thats all so far.
you never know you could have symptoms now.
hope so

OP posts:
strike1 · 18/07/2005 16:41

No No, don't get me thinking too much about it!!! I've worked out that the earlist I can test is next Thursday, but as I don't have a regular cycle I have know idea if that might still be way too early. I would get a test to use in the morning if I were you, best to know before the day begins, then you can relax and get on with another day of waiting....Hmmm doesn't sound that much fun really. Something will happen soon, one way or another.Chin up.

Lunasea - did you sneak of to do a test or are you waiting till morning as well?

Diddle · 18/07/2005 16:43

i hope so. i'd rather know, then i can avoid my glasses of wine and coffee, and peanut butter and too many biscuits. ooohh sounds awful think i'd rather have af for another month

OP posts:
strike1 · 18/07/2005 16:49

That's the problem with the waiting time from ov to af. Do you give up everything just in case, or do you hope you find out early so you can start being good then? A bit of both I guess. I've got a friends house warming party on Saturday so have decided to drive to avoid drinking and suspicion, cause the moment you change something everyone starts asking questions and after what happen last time I'd rather not tell anyone till I'm sure we're out of the woods. Still none of it's a problem when you consider what you get at the end fingers crossed for everyone!

Diddle · 18/07/2005 17:03

here here strike, thats just how i feel, i'm cutting down just in case, and some things i've still had like prawns and coffee, because knowing my luck if i gave them up i'd get af and i think if i carry on as normal until i know for sure then maybe i will be pg. weird logic i know.

OP posts:
LunarSea · 18/07/2005 17:12

Still in the office..... suddenly manically busy - argh!

HellKat · 18/07/2005 17:14

Just had to run and grab washing as it started chucking it down here, then stopped, sun came out and now gone dark again! Ohh hope it clears this humidity.
Diddle-I'll be on early in the morning so I expect to see a bfp!
Strike- I know what you mean about symptoms! I'm pretty sure I ov last month and now feeling very odd! Have all my "normal" pg symptoms (headaches, swollen boobs, smelling dodgy smells etc) but all the tests say bfn so who knows what's going on.
Got some news though all. Thursday is D-Day for dp and I (nooo not splitting up or bding, well maybe the latter ) we're giving up smoking!!! We cut down drastically when I was pg with ds2, especially when we have to go into the kitchen and hang out of the window to smoke (we roughly smoke around 20 roll ups a day between us) so should'nt be as hard as some people on 40 odd a day. We decided it's a perfect time to do it, especially with me being on a major health kick! Should be fun

HellKat · 18/07/2005 17:18

Ohh LS! Are you going to grab one on the way home then?

Diddle · 18/07/2005 17:21

wow hellkat, very impressive. why thursday?? why not tomorrow? or today

lunarsea - go get a test on the way home, i'm going to get some more now

OP posts:
HellKat · 18/07/2005 17:24

Thankyou very much hun.
Reason is, I'll have money that day and I figured if we can do it when we can afford to smoke, we'll be fine. Atm, seems really hypocritical to munch fruit and smoothies for brekkie, exercise, drink plenty of water, eat healthily and rarely drink so decided enough!

HumphreysCorner · 18/07/2005 17:34

Hello girls

What a busy day you have had!

Well, it looks like AF has come back off her hols at last-HURRAH!!! Just mucky brown watery stuff today so I will keep you posted. I'm going straight onto paternityangel.com to put in my LMP so I can have some dates to plan for. Bought 2 more bottles of wine to celebrate.

LunarSea-just get on with it girl and stop keeping us in suspense. ((xx))

Just visited my MIL and it has done my head in-why does she have to criticise me? She mutters under her breath but I can still hear her. BAH!

Got today and tomorrow off work as DD is 2 tomorrow so we are going to go to Skegness for the day (if the weather holds out).

Will be back later to check for updates so ((((((xxxxx))))) to everyone.

x

HellKat · 18/07/2005 17:38

HOORRAAYYY Humphreys!!! Great news! Hope you told the little cow off (and i don't mean your mil ).
Happy birthday to your dd for tomorrow. Here's hoping for great weather!

Xena · 18/07/2005 18:13

Diddle I have a chart for the holidays with a plan for each day, no I'm not accredited, are you? I have thought about it but I don't seem to have any extra time to study.
HC great news, back on the track now!
Come on Lunersea!!
Hope it goes well HK, I gave up when I was pg with no2 (although I didn't smoke in pg 1 but went back to it afterwards ) DH still hasn't given up and probably rolls 20 on his own a day!!

HellKat · 18/07/2005 18:17

Thankyou Xena.
I never actually gave up when i've been pg but did manage to cut down to between 3 & 5. I'll miss it though because I do enjoy it but needs to be done.

Xena · 18/07/2005 18:23

I still miss them now, when I've had a bad day I really do.

strike1 · 18/07/2005 18:42

Excellent news Humphreys! It's the only time you feel thrilled to see her really. Now you can really get started....on the wine at least!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 18/07/2005 19:22

Did another opk and no line so guess yesterday was it and have had funny twinges all day. Going for another sesh tonight but looking at dh looks like i have to pull all stops out for seducing him.......

Lunarsea did you retest??

my MIL was here yesterday. She always manages to call me fat despite the fact i am not. Shes one of those women who are obsessed with being overweight or old.Shes 70 and she lifted up her skirt yesterday to show me her new knickers.PSML as they were the magic ones from m&s that all us with less than toned tums resort to when we want to wear a slinky no.I told her by the time i reach 70 i could not be bothered and got that look that only a MIL could give.

Diddle · 18/07/2005 19:25

wow xena you are organised, no i'm not accredited. but if i was wouldn't I be able to accept childcare vouchers? do they still do those. One of the mums has asked me if she gets "free" childcare when her son gets to a certain age, i presume thats what she means.

OP posts:
Xena · 18/07/2005 19:31

Diddle they only get that grant when they are 3&4 instead of going to preschool or nursery. You can accept the other vouchers anyway.

madrush · 18/07/2005 19:51

CP - I think I'd be terrified if my MIL whipped her skirt up to show me her knickers, but it has made me giggle. At least you know what to get her for xmas. Can't bear people that go on about weight though, I've always been pretty slim (although extremely untoned) but my MIL asks me whether I've lost weight every other time I see her and she says it in that way as though she thinks the other times I look enormous. But don't get me started on my MIL!

Pleased to hear af arrived humpreyscorner, come on testers, let us know early won't you? Would love someone to join me on due in march thread.

And finally, HK -GOOD LUCK for Thursday. You can do it, and you should look into GP's support. The stats say you're more likely to stay off if you have support and encouragement (but maybe those others didn't have mumsnet). I love hearing about people giving up, no better step you can take.

Diddle · 18/07/2005 21:17

lunarsea - have you tested??? do you have a pc at home?

OP posts:
Tabs · 18/07/2005 21:59

Congrats Madrush - great news .

Diddle - hope your BFP is just around the corner too.

Hellkat - go for it on the smoking front - it really is the best thing that you can do to give your baby the best start in life.

HumphreysCorner · 18/07/2005 22:10

LOL at everyone's MIL-they are all as bad as each other.

Goodnight all.
x

HellKat · 19/07/2005 06:02

Morning all.

Bloody af's back!!! That crappy old blood came this morning! Did the cervix test last night as I thought I had ov pain, cervix was soft and open so thought right dp we'll have fun today and then.... grrrrr. Ah well!
Mad, Tabs- Thankyou!!! We're going cold turkey. Basically because Imo, if you use the nicotine replacements, you're still putting the stuff into your body that's keeping you addicted so alot better without. Actually looking forward to it now! Went ahead and told everyone (so there's less chance of backing out .
CP- Was in fits with the image of a 70 yr old gal flashing her bloomers you!
I'm lucky, my mil is a babe!
Diddle- any news?
Lunarsea- How did the anniversary go?
