Here we go, another new thread for us to fill with our highs and lows.

Lets start off with a good dusting of babydust, think all the rest we had has washed off in the rain

Any addictive type use of ovulation or pregnancy testing kits grants you immediate membership of testers anonymous!
We need to develop a 12 step programme! and decide what to award ourselves in lieu of those chip thangs that AA use (I have a friend - and I don't mean me! who is in AA....)

ROFL at horseyness. Was not meaning to imply that my dh is erm, "equipped" like one tho now that you mention it.....

strike1 · 13/07/2005 11:54

Lucky you Spub!

spub · 13/07/2005 11:55

Well he is 6 foot 5!!! (His height - I mean!!)

strike1 · 13/07/2005 12:09

Oh it just gets better!!! or worse depending on your sense of humor

spub · 13/07/2005 12:10

I fear that I may have said too much...

LunarSea · 13/07/2005 12:11

Little telescope/microscope saliva test thing to tell if you are about to OV - see here

spub · 13/07/2005 12:14

oooh. Looks fab. Has anyone used it?

strike1 · 13/07/2005 12:16

That looks interesting, although maybe not as interesting as my imagination! In a right silly mood today I can see I might have to get one of those and begin a new addiction. I'm awful at temping cause I keep getting up and having breakfast before remebering to take it! So this may prove better for me.

LunarSea · 13/07/2005 12:19

spub - yes I use mine all the time (and several times a day too at times)! It's good for me as I have rather unpredictable cycles and it saves me wasting a fortune on OPK's at the wrong time. The telescope gives you some clues that OV will be coming up soon, which is the cue to start using the OPK's.

spub · 13/07/2005 12:24

Lunarsea - I am going to go "au naturel" for my first round of ttc next weekend and may well be in the market for getting one of these thereafter. Is the starter kit a good, safe buy that covers your options, would you say?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 13/07/2005 14:27

Tabs

How much was your doppler? I am considering getting one WHEN i fall pregnant but have been warned off them....

Your all making me laugh about Testers Anon, Another testing kit now sits in the bathroom.DH thinks I have really lost it.Did one last night and got pale result which means no OV yet,so will see what tonight brings then may have to wear seducing nightie rather than baggy t shirt!!

Taking mind off things today assembling the toys I got Lucy yesterday. Tking a while though as we had to pick her up from nursery at 11.00 as she has got a runny tummy. Seems ok though and now having a nap so I get a reprive. Tried to assemble a trampoline and have given up after several attempts of wrestling with it on living room floor. Will let DH tackle later, hopefully after hes tackled me

Diddle · 13/07/2005 14:30

CP - what have peopek said to put you off a doppler, i was thinkin gof doing the same and buying or hiring one if i could whe i get pg. just to reassure myself. but then i suppose if i struggled to find a hb it would upset me

LunarSea · 13/07/2005 14:32

The monitor pack on that link does seem to cover most options. Bought mine on Ebay for rather less than they are charging there though - e.g. here .

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 13/07/2005 14:50

DD has woken

chat later

CP - glad to hear you are giggling.
Those trampolines are a right bugger. My DH just about gave himself a hernia trying to build the one we got our dd. NOT helped by the fact that she was trying to bounce on it whilst he was in the process of attaching the bouncy bit to the frame!
Agree it's too hot to cook.
Feel a "bad mummy" suggestion coming on that involves a buffet of assorted ice lollies and ice cream for dinner tonight. I would of course have fruit flavoured lollies so as not to be totally irresponsible....

strike1 · 13/07/2005 15:10

BBQ is the only way to go. And as it's "man's work" it means I don't have to do anything!

Diddle · 13/07/2005 16:49

phew, i feel like all the energy has been drained out of me, i lay down with the kids at nap time and almost didn't get up, must keep my eyes open

OP posts:
strike1 · 13/07/2005 17:16

Me too, looks like it might storm here. Was planning to start DH on his strict every other day BDing routine tonight, but feel too tired.

Tabs · 13/07/2005 17:44

CP - doppler was £73.99 + £6.75 p&p. There's a thread about them here if you want to read other's experiences too.

I used to use one of those Calista monitors, but it didn't really seem to work for me. Apparently not all women fern! It also says on the box that you shouldn't use it within 2 months of being pregnant, so no point rushing out to get one for those of you whose loss was very recent.

Spub - can I come for dinner at yours - ice lollies sound great!

Diddle · 13/07/2005 18:00

thanks tabs, might consider investing in one when the time comes.

OP posts:
Diddle · 13/07/2005 18:03

lots of dopplers on ebay, not veyr cheap though

OP posts:
spub · 13/07/2005 18:55

Tabs, thanks for the "heads up" re the Calista not being great for recent loss cases.
Re dinner - sure, would u prefer a Zoom, Feast or Calypo??? Just run out of Cornettos!

strike1 · 13/07/2005 19:04

I'm ditching the bbq and heading round yours for a feast! Hmmmm Ice Cream
