Here we go, another new thread for us to fill with our highs and lows.

Lets start off with a good dusting of babydust, think all the rest we had has washed off in the rain

DH keeps reminding me that i will be 1/4 of a century

Hi - hope all are ok. I'm doing ok - due date was yesterday. My friend and I were both pg at the same time, she was due 2 weeks earlier than me ... and I just knew this would happen, but she had her little baby boy yesterday. On my due date. I am so happy for her but it made me so sad. Not in a "it's not fair, it should be me" kind of way ... she didn't steal my baby!!! ... but just sad that my little one had to die in the first place. It's weird isn't it - my m/c was 4 and a half months ago and it feels like yesterday, then it also feels ages ago.

On a positive note, we've been bd-ing for England so maybe good news ahead - we even snuck off from a family wedding reception on Sat for some alfresco bonking!!!

Thx as always for listening x

Diddle · 12/07/2005 13:06

wishingchair - so sorry you're going through a rough time. I can't imagine how you feel, but it must be horrible to be so happy for your friend but to remember your loss as well.

Fingers crossed that this is your month, sounds like you've taken every opportunity you could to bd you have been busy.

Al fresco at weddings, sounds pretty risque! W/c try to keep smiling in public and wander off for a sob when you can. I'm going to be in same position with a friend due near when I should have been in Sept

W/c, c/p let's all try to keep smiling together.

Diddle, I'd say enjoy your birthday (quarter century seems a long time ago for me) because my warped logic says if you don't drink you won't be pg but if you do drink you might be. Or maybe I just want to feel better about pims I was guzzling at the weekend

And as long as I stay not excited for you, I won't be excited for me either.

Diddle · 12/07/2005 13:23

madrush - i have the same warped sesne of logic too, like when i do a pg test I just carry on and flush the toilet and was my hands without looking at it, because of course it will be neg and then if its not it will be a suprise. i try and kid myself that theres no chance i could be.

When was your sept due date, i was due the 15th Sept, we must have lost around the same time. end of Jan??

Lets be unpositive together.

strike1 - have just read your stats, and i had to ask, what is a voice artist??? what do you have to do? sounds very interesting

Afternoon all from an extrememly sunny and hot Leicestershire.
HC-in answer to your question yesterday, my mc was 15th June. I was told first AF would be in 4-6 weeks, well 4 weeks is up tomorrow. I don't think it'll arrive, don't feel at all pre-menstrual! The thing I don't understand about being told to wait for a cycle for dating purposes, is that the midwife at my booking-in appointment said that they date more by scans now anyway. So now I'm really confused! Seems to depend who you talk to.

spub · 12/07/2005 14:50

at alfresco wedding reception bding.
Liking your style!!

Diddle · 12/07/2005 14:50

hello petunia - it is all very confusing isn't it, i think they just recommend you wait, not sure if there is any evidence to suggest it is worse to get pg straight away. probably isn't

OP posts:
madrush · 12/07/2005 14:51

Diddle, my due date should have been 18/9 and m/c was early Feb (7 weeks).... same day my neighbour came home with her new baby

Petunia (I love petunias, pots full of them in the garden) my af didn't arrive until about 6 weeks after m/c and I was told no need to wait these days but GPs can handle it better if they have a LMP to put on their paperwork. I know this is true, during first pg I went to dr after positive test and said I had AF on x date but I've been on hormone treatment for months and only AFing (if that is a verb?) every second month at most. "oh" he said and wrote down LMP anyway. Made for a horrible first scan when they thought pg wasn't progressing properly and I had to convince them conception date could be weeks out for all I knew. After that experience, I decided to wait before trying after mc but 5 months later my cycle still isn't normal, so probably of no great benefit to wait.

What a long post, been working on document all afternoon and obviously feeling a bit wordy now!

spub · 12/07/2005 14:52

Strike1 - Like Diddle I am also intrigued by your job. Do tell us more about what a voice artist does.
Is is like wasserface Irish actress doing the sexy M&S food advert?
Is being a piss artist any sort of training for being a voice artist???

madrush · 12/07/2005 15:41

Spub apply here don't know anything about it myself, but it's too hot to work so playing google instead

HellKat · 12/07/2005 17:06

Giggling at the "al fresco" shenanigans!!!!!! waheyy!
Diddle- have your birthday drink tomorrow hun! I agree with Madrushs' logic actually. Sort of the "sod's law" scenario!
How's everyone coping in this heat? Have a nearly nekkid ds2 running around, and I'm cooking [shcok]. Too hot!

HellKat · 12/07/2005 17:15
  • that's it I give up with this typing malarky! The heat's affected it I swear
Diddle · 12/07/2005 17:22

Lol yep but said jennifer Anniston style in Friends. Remember that episode? Where she's on her own and strips off. She walks around saying " I'm picking up an orange.... nekkid. I'm sitting down..... nekkid" lol

HellKat · 12/07/2005 17:37

Just gave ds2 his fav pudding. Healthy too. Little yoghurt (petit filous, wildbunch etc) with mushed strawberries in it. If he has a banana yoghurt, I put mushed bananas in them. Easy, quick to.

Diddle · 12/07/2005 18:03

hellkat - i love friends, yes remember that one, just took me a while to work out what it said, was expecting it to be a typo, and trying to substitute leters for other ones.
Good idea with the yoghurt, must try it. the kids will love it.

Hello all my old mners from ttc thread. I just wanted to pop on to say that after my missed m/c in March I have been for a scan today and baby measures 8+6 and 21 mm so obviously I am chuffed to bits.....heart was beating madly and the sonographer said it was moving about alot.....I find the images so fuzzy but saw the head and the heart beating which was good enough for me!
I wish you all the best with ttc and it will soon be all of you!!!

Diddle · 12/07/2005 19:10

excellent rachelrog - glad it went well for you i know you were worried

Evening ladies.
Today been better but bloody hot here in Manchester. Took Lucy shopping for some outdoor toys and got all sweaty In Toys R Us.
Dad called last night and told him about my day. He did not say anything (its a dad thing, he never mentions Philippa)but he knows we are TTC.Today he heard me and my sister discussing getting pregnant and ovulation kits and he said I will have Lucy Sat night if you want which I guess is his way of 'helping'!!
Talking about ovulation kits.Bought one today and got a faint line which test indicates 'not yet' which I think DH is v happy about cos he complained about my mood again last night so dont think BD is on his agenda.

Love to read all your chats. Make me smile
