Hi!
A little about me - I'm pushing 34, have a 10 month old DD that I'm still breastfeeding and really want to conceive no.2 asap!
I am on my second cycle since AF returned and am temp / CM / CP charting using fertility friend and have OPKs!
I ovulated on day 29 of my last cycle, and am on day 21 at the moment.
Have been having fun and games with very fertile signs over the past week, so lots of BD, but no ovulation, poor DH is full of a cold and not feeling very energetic but I keep insisting that he perform until my temps go up

So anyway - hoping that there are others out there in a similar boat who can help to keep me sane and hopefully share some good news in the coming months.

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing ok. Hulla - I haven't yet braved the world of OPKs, so not sure when you are supposed to ovulate in relation to having a positive one. EWCM worked for me last time.

I'm going in to have my operation tomorrow morning, eek! Really not looking forward to having a GA, but needs must. It'll be the longest I've been away from DS too, DH is probably taking him to his mother's (wuss Hmm :o ) Fingers crossed for a quick recovery so we can actually get on with TTC and I can post on this thread legitimately :o

Hulla · 27/10/2010 03:07

Good luck Kate! Hope you're soon on the mend. I had a GA last year when DD was about 9 months or so. It was ok, I quite enjoyed the sleep Blush.

Hope you've got help post-op. It's tricky with a little one but do-able. Hope you're back On here soon!

Fertility friend reckons I'm 3dpo so I'll go with that. I'm doing ok at not obsessing about my first ever 2ww! I think because I know it's likely to take months so I'm seeing everything before Christmas as just practice. I'm going to try not to stress about ttc until at least New Year...

LifeOfKate · 27/10/2010 16:37

I'm back :o

Managed to avoid a GA in the end, they used a local anaesthetic :) The worst bit was that there was a reflection in the light they weren't using directly above me, so I could see them coming towards me with a huge needle!! Shock

I'm all fine though, got a follow up in 2 weeks, if all is good, I can start having sex again, woo hoo!

DH has taken DS off to his mother's, so I have had a lovely nap, and am now getting some lovely time browsing the internets without having to get up every 5 seconds to remove DS from something lethal (he's just started climbing Hmm ) :o

QueenFee · 27/10/2010 22:28

Lifeof Kate Glad it went well :)
Hulla PMSL at "enjoyed the sleep" Oh I so know what you mean!

Still no AF here although I have high hopes for this month as all my kids were conceived in Oct/Nov!

I am attempting to Night wean/ sleep train DS. I am happy to still give him his 11 and 3 feeds just don't want him feeding every hour and longer. So far so good. He slept for 8 hours straight night before last. Shame I have 2 others to interrupt my sleep also Grin Still I am doing it very softly no cry way (sort of my own version of drJay) and it has def had an effect. He has whinged a little but if he has gotten truely upset I have fed him back to sleep as the trust thing is important for me I have such a good relationship with him at the mo I don't want to risk and know on effects.

However as usual I may have just jinxed it by admitting to an improvement on here so I will keep you posted!

Due to poas as always do around the 25th just in case so fingers crossed I may be pregnant without nay unnecessary visits from AF Hmm

Good luck to everyone else especially those of you with a 2ww...

DitaVonCheese · 28/10/2010 09:15

LadyG - yes please! Grin Last time I had a cycle buddy we got BFPs within a day of each other and then stayed a day apart throughout our pregnancies until she treacherously Wink had her DS nearly two weeks early and DD was nearly two weeks late, so our babies are nearly a month apart. Anyway, here's hoping it works as well this time round :) Thanks for sharing your chart - mine is quite spiky now, guess I just throught CD7 might be important if CD14 and 28 are.

to Whenisit. So sorry to hear that you're still in the same boat too :( Good luck with the fertility clinic - hope they can come up with some answers for you. I've thought about seeing a GP as it's been over a year for us, but I'm pretty sure they'll just tell me to stop bfing so no real point. Sigh.

Yay Hulla Grin I totally share your giddiness, I love +ive OPKs :) You will probably OV any time between 12-36 hours after getting the +ive unless it's delayed by you being ill or something. Deena plan suggests SWI three nights in a row, skipping a night, then going once more for luck.

Kate - glad to hear the operation went well. I also quite enjoyed the rest with GA Blush but it made me so sick afterwards it probably wasn't worth it, so sounds as though LA was a good result.

Good luck Fee - glad to hear the night weaning is going well and hope you haven't jinxed it Grin

On CD14 here and got a +ive OPK last night so DH is on a promise Wink DD woke up partway through the other night and was inconsolable so that rather put a dampner on things but hopefully that was a bit early anyway. My temps took a dip this morning, which I think can happen before OV. Our night weaning is going great as long as I don't share a bed with DD, when it all goes backwards :( Hoping to move her into her big girl's bed just as soon as we can afford a mattress for it

LadyGoneGaga · 28/10/2010 10:33

Dita check out Charters, Orchid has news, not sure how often she visits these parts...

DitaVonCheese · 28/10/2010 11:32

Oh my ...

DitaVonCheese · 28/10/2010 12:24

Grin That has made my day Grin

DitaVonCheese · 31/10/2010 22:38

Evening all :) Hope you're having fun Halloweens. Feeling a bit guilty here as think we failed to answer the door in time to the only T&Ters we had Blush

I am charting this month and am completely baffled. Had two really strong +ive OPKs on 27th and 28th Oct but here we are four days later and my temps haven't gone up. They did dip on the day I got the second +ive, which I think is supposed to happen right before OV, but have just crept slowly up to normal since then. Does that mean I haven't OVed this month? :(

LadyGoneGaga · 01/11/2010 08:42

Hi Dita you may have a "slow rise" pattern. Your body takes longer to react to the progesterone so temps rise more slowly. Have you charted before? Is this normal for you? Makes it a little harder to pinpoint day of ov but is still doable. Are you on FF? Can you share your chart? Watch to see what it does for next few days. If you have ovved it should continute to creep up until you see a definite biphasic pattern.

Sometimes you can have an OPK but ovulation still gets delayed for whatever reason so you could ov later?

For now I would keep shagging Grin. And come over to Charters as there may be more perspectives than mine especially if you can share your chart.

DitaVonCheese · 01/11/2010 09:31

Thanks LadyGG. After lots of obsessing research last night, a slow rise pattern sounds about right, though it has suddenly gone up today, which has confused me slightly. Hopefully you'll be able to see my chart here (it takes a minute to load). I did think about coming over to Charters, especially as it stayed in my active convos for ages, but it seemed a bit rude to barge in and start asking questions Blush Might well pop in later though :)

Hope things are good with you.

DitaVonCheese · 01/11/2010 09:41

Argh it won't let me make my chart public Angry (it's babymed, not FF).

DitaVonCheese · 01/11/2010 09:51

Angry Angry

LadyGoneGaga · 01/11/2010 10:03

How annoying! Well sounds like you have ovved and you are just a bit late to react - think this is covering in Taking Charge of Your Fetility. Some women take a bit longer.

I'm fine, still waiting for laying. Feels like body is gearing up - hopefully in next few days. I'm normally a 33-35 cycle person. Who knows after the mc!

Hulla · 01/11/2010 12:08

Dita, I don't know enough about charting to give you anything useful but I think it sounds positive. How is the night weaning going?

Well I am 8 DPO today and still no symptoms of anything. I am surprisngly unphased by the 2WW, I thought I'd be symptom spotting and testing early but it is actually quite easy to ignore

Having said all of that I have just been reading the start of the thread again about returning phases of fertility and LP defects. So I have bought some natural progesterone cream for next month, a BBT so I can start charting temps and some more OPKs.

So yes, totally not obsessed here.

FF thinks I need to test on the 12th November but if implantation is 12-16 days then surely I can test next Tuesday on the 9th?

Any ideas?

Hulla · 02/11/2010 19:52

I had to travel for work today and have felt ill all morning, journey was awful and I have a horrid taste in my mouth. I stopped off a Boots on the way to the meeting and did a test in the loo before hand and....

got a positive on a first response early result test. Shock I don't know what to think. I was shaking. I have also got a faint line this evening on a Tesco test (not as strong as the FRER).

I'm going to leave it until Thursday of Friday and test again. I can't really believe they're right.

LadyGoneGaga · 02/11/2010 20:05

Congratulations, Hulla Grin!!! At 9dpo too. I would retest when AF due to be sure - hope it's a sticky one for you!

QueenFee · 02/11/2010 22:24

thats great Hulla!
I got bfn last week at my monthly test.
Come on af... Hurry up!
Feeding at night has improved I now get a 6-8 hour stretch so hoping that helps

Hulla · 03/11/2010 09:44

Thanks LadyGoneGaGa and QueenFee I think I am still assuming I'm not pg unless I get a positive next week. I don't know the date I'd expect AF. I had 28 day cycles before DD was born and only two periods since with a 39 day cycle. If I assumed that this month it would give me a 20 day LP which seems quite long.

I think I'll test again on Sunday unless AF arrives. Or maybe try holding out until Tuesday...

QueenFee I am extremely jealous of your 6-8 hour stretch. DD managed 5 hours then every 2 hours last night.

silkenladder · 03/11/2010 21:17

Congratulations Hulla Grin! Hope it sticks.

Have been phone lurking recently, agree with QueenFee that we definitely need an app, or at least a mobile version of the website.

AF seems to have deserted me, so not feeling very hopeful for ttc. It's now 43 days since I had spotting, caved in and tested at the weekend, but was negative as expected. Obviously the pant snot I was getting so excited about was not EWCM.

On the upside, I have found the square brackets on my laptop so am no longer limited to smiles and grins Wink

DitaVonCheese · 04/11/2010 15:00

Hello all again - Talktalk have seen fit to turn off the internet at our house Hmm so I'm back to intermittent posting from my mum's house!

HULLA! Grin Grin Grin So happy for you, got everything crossed it's a sticky one. Night weaning is going well thanks - so well in fact that I could share a bed with DD the other night when DH was away and still managed not to feed her in the night (although I do remember arguing about it at c 5 am, plus I woke up at 3 am thinking it was morning, so not the most peaceful of nights!).

Thanks Hulla and LadyG for charting advice. Looks as though the slow rise thing was right as it shot up the next day. I've now moved all my info over to Fertility Friend, so obsessed am I Blush but can't see how to share my chart (?). It agrees with my analysis that I must have OVed on the 29th, which means that we got our BDing spot on for once. Please oh please can it be my turn this month, oh fertility gods?

DitaVonCheese · 04/11/2010 15:08

Does this work?

Forgot to say I really want to read TCOYF but can't find it in a library round here and can't afford it at the mo. Wonder whether I'll get pg or enough money to buy it first ... ? Wink

Hulla · 04/11/2010 17:53

Yes, the chart works. I am not very experienced but it looks very nice - especially given the night waking. Glad to hear the weaning is going well - arguing aside Grin. Will keep my fingers crossed that this is your month.

I have a copy you can borrow if you like? Its lightly used and I have so much study at the moment I don't plan to pick it up again until menopause for months.

Hulla · 04/11/2010 17:53

Sorry - I havent made it clear but it's a copy of tcoyf

silkenladder · 07/11/2010 20:06

Hey, MN was listening and created mobile website. Excellent.

I have also been reading the beginning of the thread (link from Davidsmum was particularly good) and the Fertility Friend website and ordered tcoyf. Apparently it's typical to have several patches of fertile-looking CM before ovulating and first AF when breastfeeding. So I guess things are going in the right direction.

Kate - hope your recovery is going well.

Hulla - have you tested again? Hope it's good news.

Dita - I have everything crossed that wasn't already crossed for Hulla that you will be lucky this month.
