Hi!
A little about me - I'm pushing 34, have a 10 month old DD that I'm still breastfeeding and really want to conceive no.2 asap!
I am on my second cycle since AF returned and am temp / CM / CP charting using fertility friend and have OPKs!
I ovulated on day 29 of my last cycle, and am on day 21 at the moment.
Have been having fun and games with very fertile signs over the past week, so lots of BD, but no ovulation, poor DH is full of a cold and not feeling very energetic but I keep insisting that he perform until my temps go up

So anyway - hoping that there are others out there in a similar boat who can help to keep me sane and hopefully share some good news in the coming months.

Hello all and welcome loopy - I'm furtively hoping that your sore nips are an early pregnancy symptom but either way hope you feel better soon and good luck with the weaning.

Thanks for the birthday wishes :)

CD28 here so just waiting to see if AF shows. Got a BFN yesterday so pretty sure that this isn't our month (no June baby for me :() though clinging on to hope slightly as I think I may have OVed late this month. Got a digi to use in the morning if AF doesn't arrive today.

silkenladder · 10/10/2010 21:02

Hi loopy and thanks Hulla for the information.

I had sore nips over the summer, seemed to go on for ages (but might have just been a couple of weeks - permanent baby brain here as well :)). They were painful while feeding, especially at the beginning of each feed, but worse was a burning feeling post-feed (only one side fortunately). It was enough to stop me going back to sleep after the morning feed. I put it down to prolonged feeding and/or bad positioning, but having read that info from Hulla I wonder now if it was down to hormones. I think they got better once af arrived (first one post baby), but as I said, my brain is now mush so can't really remember.

Anyway, if it is all hormone related and you haven't experienced sore nips until now, then hopefully it is good news.

I had some EWCM last week, that's a sign of ovulation isn't it? Colds and life in general got in the way of SWI-ing though. Could anyone enlighten me about whether ovulation happens before appearance of "pant snot", or after, or sometime in the middle?

How's everyone else doing?

LadyGoneGaga · 10/10/2010 21:20

Ov generally just after last day of pant snot. Good luck!

DitaVonCheese · 12/10/2010 14:42

Amused and disgusted in equal measure by "pant snot" Grin I believe the advice is if you see it, do it, if you catch my drift.

I am in insane hormone-crazed limbo here. On CD32, so AF is four days late, but the many, many Blush HPTs I have consulted all seem to be in agreement that I am not actually up the duff Hmm Did have a wipe of pinky mucous a couple of nights ago, but if that was an elusive implantation bleed then nothing else seems to have happened. Meh! Would just like to have a definite answer by this stage. Anyway, on my mum's computer still so will sign off and pay attention to DD before I embarrass myself by mentioning some of the crazed hormone-induced things I've done over the past four days Blush

Waves all round :)

LifeOfKate · 12/10/2010 15:42

Aww, that sounds promising Dita, hope you get a BFP soon!

Pant snot, fantastic :o

Talking of pant snot ( :o ), I think I have some here too, so marking my place so I can see how long until AF turns up this month :) It's handy this, like an online diary Wink :o

Hopefully by the time I get next months EWCM, I will be able to do something about it :o

DitaVonCheese · 13/10/2010 14:39

I'm always referring back to this thread for dates - wish I'd mentioned when I got my +ive OPKs this month Angry

CD33, 'nother BFN this morning ...

DitaVonCheese · 13/10/2010 15:05

Looks like I posted too soon Blush CD1 ... :(

LifeOfKate · 13/10/2010 20:53

Sorry Dita, I am now no longer commenting on your lack of AF, as every time I do, it arrives :(
How long is EWCM supposed to last? Think mine lasted a day this month, and I can't remember how long it normally used to, but I'm sure I used to have it for a few days... Confused

Hulla · 14/10/2010 18:40

LifeOfKate I think it can be 3 or 4 days but once I see the first hint of ewcm we get on with things and then, well, I struggle to differentiate between ewcm and...er...DH's contribution Blush.

I am saying this having only had two periods since DD was born so maybe my untrained eye will pick up the subtle differences with time.

Dita sorry AF arrived.

LifeOfKate · 14/10/2010 20:39

Haha, Hulla, I totally know what you mean :o

Hulla · 15/10/2010 09:28

LoopyLoupGarou · 16/10/2010 10:07

Hey ladies

I had a positive digital test this morning! :)

LifeOfKate · 16/10/2010 20:12

Yay, congratulations Loopy :o

I am feeling quietly confident what with all these BFPs flying around the place :o

Hulla · 17/10/2010 07:03

Congratulations Loopy! That's superb news to wake up to today!

silkenladder · 17/10/2010 20:17

Congratulations Loopy! Great news :o

Er, I can't claim credit(?) for "pant snot", it came from another thread I was reading before I decided to join this one. Thought from the title that "just shagging" might be for people who don't po sticks until already late and don't know when they are ovulating, but no, they are just as mad lacking in willpower as all the rest.

Anyway, thought since bfing past one year makes one a particular kind of social outcast devoted parent, I would probably be best off here :)

QueenFee · 17/10/2010 23:28

there should be a facebook style like button for phone lurkers like me
I haven't read everything as the thread keeps crashing my phone! However
Loopy congrats! What was your secret and how old is your little one?
Loving Pant snot, talking of which I actually had some a few days ago so now hoping af is on the way (first time I have ever said that!) I have great hopes for the next couple of months as I have 2 july and an August baby already

LoopyLoupGarou · 18/10/2010 12:25

Thanks QF. My secret is that we actually decided not to after meeting the consultant, but it was too late, can't go back now! DD is 15 months.

LifeOfKate · 18/10/2010 20:55

Ah, silkenladder, you're on the same wavelength as me :o

Definitely hearing you WRT social outcast, I had a comment last week from a woman with a DS the same age as mine; she was asking advice on how to move from a bottle to a beaker and I said that I didn't know, I was still breastfeeding, so couldn't offer any advice and her response was 'Oh, you're still doing THAT, are you?!' Angry You'd have thought DS was about 27 from her reaction, but no, he's actually the grand old age of 10 months Hmm

LadyGoneGaga · 18/10/2010 21:12

Don't let her near me then. My DS is 29 months!

freefruit · 19/10/2010 05:17

HI guys just came to ask a bit of advice....
I'm keen to get pregnant but still BF my 10 month old who has eating issoos.
So BF I guess 5 times a day maybe 4 and still twice most nights, previously I didn't conceive until I stopped BF although AF returned sooner. No sing of AF and don't partic want to stop BF

any ideas/suggestions gratefully received
thanks

silkenladder · 20/10/2010 21:20

Hi freefruit

Theoretically abrupt changes to bf routine can cause return of fertility. I don't know if anyone else on here has first hand experience of that. I nightweaned at 11 months (cut out at least three feeds from one day to the next), but as I had "protection" from a contraceptive injection (which I now regret) it had no effect (apart from achy boobs in the morning :) ).

In the Politics of Breastfeeding there's some reference to women having return to fertility when given extra nutrition in the form of biscuits or something similar. There's potential there for binging on chocolate, but might have undesired side-effects :o

Now going to bed to dream of chocolate digestives. Good night.

DitaVonCheese · 22/10/2010 23:09

Hello all and big big congrats Loopy Grin Grin Grin Hope all goes well for you.

Kate, your comment re making my AF arrive made me smile :) Tbh by that point I was just pleased to have an answer either way, though I was getting a little bit tentatively excited. On the plus side, I have just drunk a bloody big G&T which would obviously not be an option had things turned out differently Wink

The just shagging thread irritates me every time I read the title - I'm sure it's unintentional but the title is so bloody smug Blush - so glad to hear that they're as mad as the rest of us.

Freefruit, agree with silkenladder that abrupt changes are supposed to make the biggest difference - I know for me, my AF returned when I went back to work two days a week, so a sudden cut in day time feeds, but of course there's no way of knowing whether that would have happened anyway (DD was just under a year at the time). Night weaning might be a good start - seems to have worked for a few people on here and apparently hormone levels are higher between midnight-6 am so there is some science behind it. Can be hard work though!

No news from me - CD9 so just twiddling my thumbs at the moment. Charting this month and had a big peak at CD7 then back to normal - does anyone know if that means anything or was it just a random glitch? I've been back in bed with DH and DD the last week or so but it's a bloody nightmare with DD waking in the night and trying to undress me/screaming etc :( so I'm back in the spare room tonight in the hope we'll all get a bit more sleep!

Speaking of which - bed time. Mmmmm. G'night :)

LadyGoneGaga · 23/10/2010 08:33

Hi Dita , cd9 here too. Wanna be cycle buddies? I chart as well, come over to Charters Anonymous for lots of lovely ladies to obsessover analyse your chart. I find my temps are quite unstable pre-ov and if you're anything like me and have to get up in night a lot with toddler and have inconsistent wake up times then chart can look a bit spiky. But you can still see the underlying pattern normally. My chart [[http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2fee7f
here]] if you want to see what I mean.

Freefruit it was time that did it for me. I went back to work full time at 11 months and still no AF. Eventually came back at 20 months with no change in routine. We hadn't nightweaned then though so that may be worth trying if you want her to come back sooner.

Whenisitmyturn · 23/10/2010 13:55

Sorry to gatecrash, but I wanted to wave to Dita (it's Orchid here!). Good to see you back on here, does that mean you have Internet access again?

I have my fingers crossed for you my lovely. It's about blooming time one of us got a BFP Smile. We've decided to refer ourselves to a fertility clinic and have our first appt a week on Tuesday. We're pretty much at a year of trying and I think our problem is that my cycles are long and irregular since having DS. I'm thinking of egg doning IVF some time in the New Year if they let me. I know so many people that are struggling/have struggled, so have rationlised in my mind that if we are helping someone else too, then assisted conception is an option for us.

Hulla · 24/10/2010 21:24

I am on CD19 & got a positive OPK yesterday and this morning, I was extremely excited at the dark lines. Shockingly so. I took my stick to DH who didn't share my giddiness, unfortunately. Not much ewcm though which has confused me. So how do I work out when I've ovulated? I'm not temping although I think I'll start next cycle.

Will I ov 12-36 hours from yesterday or today? .

I've also had terrible nausea and cramping today. Does anyone else get ov symptoms? I never noticed them before I got pregnant.
