Hi all,

I've just checked and if it happens this time I'd actually be due early July. Please feel free to join me on this bus:

Hey Norky, I usually get rather damp in the run up to OV also (I usually do textbook OV, on day 13/14).

I think it means its time to start doing the winky up the foo foo thing.

NorkyButNice · 19/10/2009 11:01

ROFL at winky up foo foo.

Will let DH know to prepare himself

TeaFan · 19/10/2009 11:05

Hi all, just catching up after a few days away, pmsl at getting chucked out of AS ... Also loving the new emoticons!

OV is very late for me this month due to stress at work, all the signs yesterday but -ve OPK so going to POAS when I go home for lunch. Doing ok on the BDing front even if it is occasionally 'because we have to' after 6 months it's time to up our game!

Quick question, is it worth BDing in the morning when you have to get straight out of bed and into the shower? Tried to stay in bed for a few minutes after but the clock was ticking!

Very much looking forward to some symptom spotting with you ladies, can't believe our grad list it still empty, roll on a few BFPs I say

Morning ladies!

I've had my armful of blood taken, so will get results Friday afternoon - hopefully that means this time next week I'll be on Metformin! I'm dreading it all coming back normal - I'd rather there be a fixable problem than it being just bad luck!

Norky hope this helps re the cervical mucus.

at winky up foofoo. Brilliant!

Tea We have done some morning bonking this cycle but only because we were away from home so no small person in bed with us and could then lie in for ages afterwards! I always worry that I don't stay lying down long enough...just something else to obsess over isn't it?!

PollyPoo · 19/10/2009 11:39

Hey ladies. Tea I think its always worth a try isn't it? It only takes one little swimmer after all... and maybe they won't all fall out! (You must however cross fingers AND pray to baybee jebus - I've just learned where I have been going wrong )

Good luck with the tests WWSW - are you on day 6 ones or day 21? Sorry, I can't remember. I had both done and when I rang to get results, I spoke to a difference dr, who told me they were all normal. When I went back to doc's on a different problem, I saw the original Doc again, and she said my results were v high (FSH 28+ and LH 22!!!) I nearly cried. She took some more bloods (day 6 ones) and they came back with the realms of 'normal'. I can only put it down to acupuncture, its fab

So on the one hand, everything is ok this end, but on the downside I still don't know why its taking so long 2nd time around. Dr asked DH to do sperm test so she can refer us to fertility clinic, but he won't do it

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 11:53

Hi polly I've had the 21 day progesterone test (cd24 for me and my stupid cycle tho!) and they are checking testosterone and oestrogen levels too for pcos. I had mild pcos as a teenager but I've been on the pill until last November so it's been masked until now. I can't believe I'm hoping to have pcos! Madness.

I'm sorry your dh won't do the tests...I think mine would be the same too Fingers crossed for this cycle for you

NorkyButNice · 19/10/2009 11:58

Fab - thanks WWSW!

PollyPoo · 19/10/2009 12:46

Thanks WWSW, fingers crossed for us all - let this be a bumper baby month!

I'm on day 8 of the dreaded 2ww... managing to stay sane so far. Its crap isn't it - you wish away all your time, ie. next period, next Ov etc etc, always looking forward. I think I will treat myself to a dolphin today to help the waiting more interesting {grin}

TeaFan · 19/10/2009 13:19

Thanks PollyPoo I keep telling myself it only takes one but everyone else seems to be so much better at doing it more at the right times, am trying super hard to do everything right so at least if it doesn't work this month it won't be for want of trying...

As for the 2ww, I feel your pain, last cycle I took to asking a magic 8 ball!!!

DP is starting to feel used and abused, think i'm going to have to treat him to some TLC after I OV just so that he knows i'm not just in it for the swimmers

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 15:05

no probs ladies Good luck to all of us!

I've just been reminded that I'm going out on what could be a very alcoholic and rowdy night on Saturday...period technically due on Monday but I ov'd late so poss not til Wednesday. Should I test Saturday with fmu? Then can either go out and celebrate with a J20 or sulk with a bottle of wine (whilst feeling paranoid that maybe it was too early). Argh. Dilemma!

[off to dig out ancient magic 8 ball]

Loujalou · 19/10/2009 17:17

WWSW looked at your link on CM and understand the pre ovulation bit. Well hopefully did anyways. What I don't understand is post ovulation if you are pregnant. Well I do understand it just hope its not true as it says it gets drier if you are preggers.

Well only 6dpo so its early days. But have decided I am not pregnant based on no evidence at all really. Just fed up getting my hopes up.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 17:32

I know louja I'm thinking I'm not pregnant this month as I still have lots of cm going on, plus am not enjoying the awful stomach ache and back ache I have this afternoon - think it could be the start of another water infection

nymphadora · 19/10/2009 17:36

After my period pains last month I have ordered a mooncup, surely that means I won't need it?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 17:38

lol nymph good plan! Although I think dh might go bonkers if I spend anymore money on things I won't need WHEN I'm pregnant!

Loujalou · 19/10/2009 17:43

I want to buy some sexy new bras but knowing my luck I will get pregnant and boobs will take over the world.

What to do?

I am hating this limbo phase. What happens if I don't get pregnant in a year I think they will have to cart me off to the mad house.

WWSW as you are the stats bunny. Do you know by how much those darn lubes that you shouldn't use stop the sperms moving? You can tell I ork with numbers. I like everything quantified.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 18:22

here you go lou extract from storknet but there are other sources too it you'd like me to find them? I also hate the limbo, I can't believe I even bought loose fitting summer tops for summer just gone thinking i'd be pregnant I'm thinking I might treat myself to something lingerie-ish anyway well, you've got to keep em interested somehow!

"Vaginal dryness is routinely treated with vaginal lubricant products, of which there are several hundred products marketed in the US. However, three decades of peer reviewed, published research has shown that all existing vaginal lubricants studied to date harm sperm, resulting in rapid losses in their viability (% live) and motility (% swimming). Specifically, there have been at least 11 studies on this topic conducted in Medical school settings, reviewing the effect of 16 different lubricants on sperm, including all of the top selling brands, such as KY, Astroglide and Replens. In each study, sperm motility and viability were dramatically reduced after exposure to even small concentrations (

NorkyButNice · 19/10/2009 18:24

I'm so broody reading Flame's homebirth thread...

DH isn't going to know what hit him tonight LOL

Loujalou · 19/10/2009 18:30

Thanks WWSW have just found that article and it might explain why if we are using lots and lots of lube why we haven't managed to conceive. Who knows. Did notice the article was written by the developer of pre-seed though.

Promised I wouldn't get too worked UP.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 18:37

lol I know, it's the major issue with the studies done...and the usual problem is funding is coming from the developers so what can you do?! tbh I didn't buy preseed, I bought zestica just coz I like to be a pain in the bum but knowing my luck it's made by the same ppl anyway!

go norky! hope you have a fun evening

I've still got really awful cramps, just like a bad period cramp but I am not due on for at least a week...what's going on?

NorkyButNice · 19/10/2009 18:46

WWSW .. during the 2ww with DS, I had awful cramps a few days after ovulation.

I get bad pains when I ovulate (can tell which side the egg is being released from as it's really painful!) - it felt similar to that.

Sounds like a good sign to me!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 19/10/2009 18:51

oh i hope so norky! I don't remember too much about being early pg with dd coz I just wasn't expecting it! I do remember feeling really cross that my period was so late (durrrr) when I was in so much pain with it...so maybe....I also had implantation bleeding with her so I'll be on knicker watcdh now! Anyway it looks like I'll test Saturday which I know I said I wouldn't do but I'm going out on the lash Saturday nights
so I think that's the sensible thing to do and NOT coz I'm a poas addict!

Speaking of poas addicts, where's lia?

latestincarnation · 19/10/2009 19:17

Hello everyone - been away for a few days - good to see everyone is frantic during the 2ww too!! WHEN can I test?!! I'm due roughly this saturday, but only had my periods back for 3 cycles, and they have been roughly 28-30... desperately sitting on my hands still

randomimposter · 19/10/2009 20:02

oh goodness gracious me..... am new to this symptom spotting 2ww joy ...

was lucky enough to fall month one with DS and then again with MMC (obviously that bit not quite so lucky )

don't think my cycle is back to normal, as had no usual signs of ovulation at usual time, and have then had them on day 20???!!!

either way, not enough "winky up foofoo" tbh.... so I suspect this is not going to be a hat-trick!!!

I empathise massively with all those who have endured many cycles of this... but at 41 I have my "issues" also.... have a sinking feeling my gorgeous boy will be an only child...

BUT positive thoughts to you all !

Loujalou · 19/10/2009 20:07

Lia seems to have disappeared. I have got some HPTs relative cheapies from ebay. Have six tests and am not due for another week. Think I'll give it to Saturday.

Had some mild cramps earlier but not reading too much into it.

[Leans over and whispers conspiratorially in WWSW's ear] I'll be shocked if you make it til Saturday. My money is on Friday....

Wish I symptom spotted last time. Remember crying on birthday day before period was due saying I would never get pregnant. But not sure about any other symptoms as was convinced I would never get pregnant. Wish I paid more attention now. Did have spotting not long after BFP.
