Ok Ladies... new thread, since the old one was getting too long and dragging my computer (and Kat's) down with it!

MrsD - cant believe you are 30 weeks already! So you found that cutting out the lactose helps? It will be almost a week for me and I have noticed some improvement, but not a lot. Of course, he is still getting a milk-based formula supplement to the BFing. I am going to switch to a soy formula and see if it makes a difference as well. Until then... God give me strength!!! LOL

So Marco had another fussy day today. He only had cat naps during the day (had an hour stretch during supper time which was nice) and then cried straight from 6pm until 8pm when DH got home from work. He gave him a bottle and put him in his swing to sleep. Great! Now I KNOW he will be up tonight. I try to keep him up until at least 10pm so that we get a good stretch of sleep. Sigh... ANOTHER lousy night to look forward to I guess DD2 was also trying my nerves. The only good thing was, she at least has a 3hour nap in the afternoon. All in all... my first day alone with the kids could have been worse. But aside from dinner being made, NOTHING got done around the house! LOL... I am going to need a maid!!

Older DCs had a good first day of school though.

Means - I didn't find a difference between my pregnancies, except that the first 2 I had migraines and the second 2 I had a tonne of nausea. Wondering if age had anything to do with it (almost 10 year difference).

Babyblue, I was the opposite, awful sickness with the first two and headaches with the second two, Weird eh. I think you had a fab first day, all of your children were cared for, so what no cleaning got done, but we are all only human. I'd love a cleaner, seriously I would. I'm scared of having 4, I really want this baby but I also need some more arms! LOL

The May AN club is so fast! I can't keep up if I only pop on once a day lol!

How's everyone else doing?

sweetkitty · 09/09/2009 22:23

meanbean - you summed up what I think exactly "I'm scared of having 4, I really want this baby but I also need some more arms! LOL"

I keep thinking how the hell am I going to manage the school/nursery run with a newborn and a nearly 2 yo?

I have told DP we might have to think about a cleaner seriously as I won't be up to it once the SPD kicks in.

As for sex am about 99% sure a girl

babyblue3 · 09/09/2009 22:45

Today has been a crazy day. I must be completely mad to try and take the LO's to the park on my own. Its a good half hour walk from home. We get to the park after I let DD2 walk for a portion of the way (I have a double stroller). As soon as I start pushing her in the swing, baby starts crying! So I take her out (she starts kicking and screaming), give her some sand toys to make her happy, and whip out the boob for the boy. He nurses, then spits up the entire feed over my shoulder as I try to burp (while at the same time my DD decides to spill the juice box all over me and her). Good thing I brought my baby wipes! I plunk the baby into the stroller, clean everyone up, and try to feed him again on second boob while DD plays in the sand. She decides to run out of the park, so I have to put the boob away, and chase her since she doesnt listen when I call her. Baby starts screaming as a result. Get back to the bench, give up on BBs and pop a bottle into his mouth. Put DD back on swing while feeding DS. Put him back into stroller (crying) and forefully remove DD from swing as I have now had enough! Both are in stroller screaming as I walk home. Thank GOD they both went to sleep about 10 minutes later. And this is just the START of my day today!!! If only you could hear the noise in my house right now! ARGGHHH!!!!!!

WHO told me to go and have a 4th!!! LOL

We are having a cleaner at the end of this pg/new baby. She can do beds, clothes, hoovering, bathrooms etc just once a week or so. Every bit helps

Meanbeansmum · 10/09/2009 17:46

Babyblue! Oh I remember that feeling well with a small one and a toddler lol!
I find it easier now mmy eldest is 7, he's a great help for chasing toddlers that have run off. Our park is a long walk so I take the car (oh the shame lol), so if mine play up it's easy to say enoughs enough and frog march them back to the car lol! I think you were so brave for taking them out, and well done on whipping that boob out! I'd love to see more bfing mothers feeling free to do that! I never ever see it in wales! If I feed in a mother and baby changing room all babies are bottled fed. In fact when I had my last and she was 3 days old my mw said she had 20 women on her books and I was the only breastfeeder! How sad is that! I must look like a right freak when I feed in public (I don't know she doesn't ask lol).

OMG I fear I just wrote an essay lol!

Sweetkitty!! LOL! I'm glad you feel my fear lol! Scary stuff!I look at mine sometimes and I think sheesh what a lot of kids and there'll be another soon!

Scorps, I think a cleaner may be a necessity with a newborn, will wait and see how long dh can get off work (it was only 2 weeks last time, I cried when he went back to work, I felt so drained).

All is ok here, I have some days when I feel really pg and other days when I feel normal. I hope all is ok.xxxx

Love to all you crazy mums of 4!!!

Meanbeansmum · 10/09/2009 17:47

I don't now...not know obviously lol!

babyblue3 · 10/09/2009 19:11

Means and Sweetkitty - I had that fear as well while pg. Just keep telling yourself that you have done it before and you can do it again! Its definitely busy! And I know you all have younger children, so I cant tell you it will be easy... but you know its worth it! Even with a colicky baby, I have no regrets!

AS for BF in public, I have gotten used to it and can whip them out discreetly anywhere! Not too many people here do it either. Our malls have really nice nursing rooms, so I see women in there... but not out and about. A shame really... what is the longest you ladies have BF a baby for? DD2 was BF for 10 months (and I would have gone the year, but had surgery and dried up right quick after). The first 2 DC's were both unsuccessful attempts for me. This baby seems to be doing well, so I will attempt the full year. Once I go back to work, it wont be possible to BF. I work shifts, and my job isn't really conducive to pumping.

Anyway... babies are BOTH asleep so I am going to try and eat while I can!

katnkittens · 10/09/2009 21:17

Hi, I am starting to feel the fear creep in and all of my DC's are at school!!

In a way for me it will be like having 2 DCs as DS will be almost 14 (aghh) and DD almost 12 when this one arrives. Little DD will be 6 1/2 so I'll mostly just have the 2 of them to ferry about as I can already leave the older 2 in the house if I need to pop out, plus I KNOW for a fact DD1 will be a great help as she is a magnet to babies, she adores them, her friends Mum had a baby and one day she just say and cuddled and sang to her for about an hour. God knows what she'll be like with her own little sibling (God I nearly said sister there, already having an inkling).

Well I have passed 4+5 which was when I m/c last time, the 5 week mark was when I m/c the 1st time so after this weekend I will hopefully start feeling more positive.

xxx

sweetkitty · 10/09/2009 21:29

babyblue - your day sounds like one of mine lol, oh the joys eh?

scorps - cleaner would be a great idea, I also thought about a doula but I think a cleaner would be of more benefit

meanbeans - we can be fearful together, sometimes when I have a bad day I feel totally overwhelmed, what am I thinking, we get no help whatsoever, just DP and I and it's hard enough just now

babyblue - I lost my BFing in public inhibitions a long time ago, there are certain places where I won't do it, like on a bench in our local high street for example but I drive most places so if needs be fed in the car. I fed DD1 for 12 months, DD2 for 15, DD3 for 13, in fact we worked out that apart from about 2 months I have been pregnant or BFing since November 2003.

katnkittens - fingers and everything crossed for you it's a worrying time, when are you having a scan, I am hoping for 8 weeks, your big DD sounds adorable too, my biggest DD is 5 and she adores babies too she asked me the other day if I could have a baby for her

Meanbeansmum · 10/09/2009 22:24

Babyblue, 2 years and a week ds2 bf for. The little tyke loved loved loved the boobies!!! He didn't want to give up. I slowely weaned him down to one night feed which was the hardest to drop. I made the decision not him (It was hard but I wanted dd and I was pg soon after ).

SK, I'm glad I'm not alone for thinking omg am I crazy some days lol!

babyblue3 · 10/09/2009 23:49

Kat - What a huge milestone for you this weekend! I remember when I passed the 6.5 week mark (when I had my MC), it was the greatest feeling in the world! It was even more significant than passing the 3 month mark. Will be thinking sticky thoughts for you

Baby has been really good today, after a restless night. DD2 however, has been a real piece of work! These terrible 2's are going to be the end of me!! She screamed when I put her down for her nap, only slept 1.5 hours, and is now having fits every few minutes. She is definitely going to bed early tonight!!! I'm tellin you... NO BROODY THOUGHTS HERE WHATSOEVER!!!

Guess I should go get some cleaning done before DH gets home and wonders what the hell I have done all day!! LOL. My big accomplishment is making a curry for dinner. If we dont hire a nanny when my mat leave is over, we will DEFINITELY be getting a cleaner. I am a neat freak, and seeing the state of my house lately is just killing me!

Scorps · 11/09/2009 09:26

Babyblue - i have only fed 1 of mine, dd. I fed her till 11 months when i miscarried. BF seems very common where i live (cornwall) and i see it all the time.

Kat - happy weekend sticky vibes. Dont you just wish sometimes oyu could wake up in x weeks and everything will have been sorted in your absence? Sometimes i wish that at mo; wish all the thoughts would go.

Sweetkitty - i don't really have any need for a doula, im very much a leave me alone in the corner labourer

I'm 25 weeks today, pregnancy going fab, i feel great with it, normal, and my tummy has really grown Still unsure of DH though. Bastard.

babyblue3 · 12/09/2009 05:28

Scorps - glad you are feeling so good... you def desreve it with all the stress DH has put you through... In my opinion, the "D" in DH should be replaced by "B" for bastard in your case Hope he realizes what he would be missing if you kicked his sorry ass to the curb. (sorry for the outburst... my DH getting on my nerves today so I am in a bit of a male-bashing mood) lol. Went out for a run this morning. Gone less than an hour. When I got back, baby was screaming, DD2 was running around in just her nappy, and DH was cursing that he was running late because I asked him to help me out by giving the kids a bath. He had the nerve to tell me that I was 'home all day' so why couldn't I manage!! I could have punched him! When I have a rough day, he doesn't understand and figures I should be able to manage. Meanwhile, he gets left with only 2 DCs for 45min, and is at the end of his rope! LOL... MEN!!!

Been very quiet here lately... How is everyone doing? Feeling?

OP posts:
katnkittens · 14/09/2009 19:30

I'm ok, 5+2 and still here. I got a really strong positive on an ebay cheapie. It came up straight away and is about as dark as the control line so feeling good about it

Still praying for a sticky but feeling more positive as I have passed my own personal danger zone.

xxx

Meanbeansmum · 15/09/2009 13:01

I'm ok too.

I've given up my poas habit, it was no good for me. Doing a clear blue just before 5 weeks to see it only say 1-2 weeks freaked me out so I'm going teetotal! ;)

I've passed a mini goal too, my chemical pg that I had when bfing ds2 has definitely passed time wise.

I have a toddler to feed, my internet time is limited lol!

Scorps · 15/09/2009 18:58

Glad to hear our mini-beans are sticking

babyblue3 · 16/09/2009 01:01

Agree! Glad to hear all the little beans are staying put. We will have a woderful bumper crop of babies in the spring!! LOL

My Marco had a very fussy day yesterday as well as today. But last night, did he ever sleep well!! He went down at 10:15 and woke up at 4:15am, ate then back to sleep by 5am, then up at 7:30am. I could live with that sleep pattern! Too bad he only had cat naps during the day, then screamed himself silly fighting sleep in the evening, before finally falling into a dead sleep! LOL. Guess I cant have my cake and eat it too... at least not with this baby!

OP posts:
Scorps · 16/09/2009 10:02

babyblue - that routine sounds good to me

I think we need a list or something, there are lots of new EDDs, babies born arent there! I forget who is/isnt pg, who has a baby now etc.

Scorps EDD Xmas Day DD2
