mampam · 26/08/2009 08:40

Morning all.

Think someone had better put me to the back of the bus or maybe take me off it cos I don't think I'm gonna be on the May bus!

Went to test this morning and thought my wee looked a funny colour!!(sorry tmi!).

AF has hit me with a vengeance. On the upside of things this cycle was 31 days and the one before that 30 (I think) so maybe my periods are finally getting some regularity to them instead of being all over the place. Fingers crossed.

Any news this morning sweetkitty?

Will probably still lurk about on this bus as what else am I going to do with my time?

Lets hope for some more BFP's soon.

CurlyCasper · 26/08/2009 08:54

sorry mam but please do stick around. Regularity is a bonus though

Sorry missed most of last night - happy thoughts to memory and sk

Can someone please explain the acronymns for the different PG tests? ta

bluesnowfalcon · 26/08/2009 08:59

Sorry to hear that mampam but please stay anyway At least you seem to be regular which is more than I know at the moment!

Stay posting

NancyPreg · 26/08/2009 09:13

Morning all but sorry mampam that the red devil got you, please stay - you could still squeak in a May LO...

SK how is it this morning? We need to know!

sweetkitty · 26/08/2009 09:26

BFN even did a control with water but nothing

I have a sore head, sore throat and runny nose and it's pouring here so am officially in a bad mood! Got up at 6am and forgot to pee in jug instead of toilet so used 7.30am pee instead but still BFN. So roll on Friday when period is due.

mampam - so sorry it got you too, sit beside you on the June bus then?

Curlycasper - ebay cheapies are a few pounds for about 50, they are quite unreliable but cost is a factor when you are peeing of a lot, next up are supermarket own label ones, then Boots own label, First Reponses are next you can use them something like 6 days before a period is due, the holy grail is a Clearblue Digital or CBD, instead of two lines of a line and a cross you get a very nice Pregnant or Not Pregnant, no guessowrk needed, however as they cost a fortune these are usually saved until period is late to confirm what is suspected, hope that helps, there are other tests too but these are the main ones

memorylapse - have you done another test today?

nancypreg - men eh? I said to DP that once we have DB4 that is it, we will be looking for permanent contraception and he could could for the snip, he went a bit white and said that might hurt erm childbirth 4 times matey about time you did your bit!

NancyPreg · 26/08/2009 09:42

oh SK so sorry today's test was BFN but there is still a possibility that that could change.....will you test again before the weekend? One tiny silver lining is that a BFN might prepare you for your period fingers crossed it was a false negative....

And as for snips I even got as far as dh making an appt with his GP AND getting him to go (this was about 4yrs ago!)...dh duly received a referral letter to the snip-doc but he ignored it...the snip-doc even rang him up to jolly him along but dh ignored it. And you know what, thank goodness dh ignored it cos that would've scuppered our current ttc plans but yes, if you really do want a man to get snipped (ouch) than it's not always an easy task, so good luck with that...

liahgen · 26/08/2009 09:49

sweet Not trying to get your hopes up but ona and half hours is not really long enough for hormones to build up again. You need 4 hours really, especially if you testing bit early.

Tis not over till it's over, fingers crossed for you. x

memorylapse · 26/08/2009 10:08

sweetkitty..there may simply not have been enough hormone,so you may get a false -ve.

Well I woke up this morning with sore boobs, so DH went out and bought a CBD and got a BFP.so its there in writing..pregnant..1-2 weeks..we are in shock, we were not expecting it to happen so quickly

pigleychez · 26/08/2009 10:42

SK like the others have said.. Its not over till the red lady sings! Hope you feel better son.

memory Wooo hooo!! Congratulations!!

mampam Boo that its not your month!

sweetkitty · 26/08/2009 11:03

memorylapse - whoohooo we can all say congratulations now here's to a very uneventful boring 9 months for you, followed by not so bad labour then the best bit hope you have opened the floodgates for the BFPs now

Thank girls for the messages but am quite resigned to not being pregnant this month now, yes theres always a chance until period arrives but have been here before.

sky27 · 26/08/2009 11:08

Memorylapse CONGRATS I'm away for a day and I can't keep up!

sky27 · 26/08/2009 11:15

HELP! Another BFN today. I thought I was now a day late. science bit: came of bc 1st july, bled 6th july for 3 days, had a 24 day cycle, 8 day LP. Now on cd29 DPO 9. I thought the LP stayed about the same?!? Is it just messed up body after BC?

Good luck Sweetkitty It isn't over till it's over!

CurlyCasper · 26/08/2009 11:38

congrats memorylapse!!!

sorry sk, but thanks for filling me in on the tests and sorry also to sky.

ImmaterialGirl · 26/08/2009 11:53

congratulations memorylapse!!

I think it is possible for some women to not get a pos for some time, it might be that there simply isn't enough hcg. If that's the case, you'll probably have to wait a few weeks before a doctor will take you seriously and give you a blood test though...

But definitely isn't over til it's over!

lucylev · 26/08/2009 12:05

Congrats Memorylapse very exciting for you

Still no sign of my p, I have friends egging me to do test now so wnt wait till Friday will grab one on my way home from work tonight and test first thing in morn

chin up sky

sky27 · 26/08/2009 13:56

Thanks Lucy and good luck for tomorrow! We need some cheering up and positive news x

tobago04 · 26/08/2009 14:01

Congratulations memorylapse bet it feels more real now
Sorry sweetkitty but it's not over yet
Sorry mampam
I'm actually on cd 37,so should come on today if same as last time, surely my cycle can't be longer than last time can it?

Bettymamma · 26/08/2009 14:53

Hello all - had a lovely time in Somerset - missed the lack of internet, especially the mumsnet support!

Trying to catch up but you lot have been crazily busy. Congrats the grads! Just read Sweetkitty got a BFN - sorry to hear, what's your normal cycle length? And sky27 - like u said, not quite over yet. And sorry Mampam as well that it looks like not this month.

Bettymamma has news

whispers queitly.... 2 bfp's......i'm actually shaking as i write this. Quite shocked. Taking NOTHING for granted.

CurlyCasper · 26/08/2009 15:45

congrats Betty! Did you get them today or while on hols?(picturing you POAS behind a tent!) If you're not taking that for granted what's the next step?

sky27 · 26/08/2009 16:01

CONGRATS Betty more info!!!

Bettymamma · 26/08/2009 16:34

Laughing at you picturing me behind the tent. No - we stayed at my MIL's on Monday so i did it then with a cheapy tesco test - totally not expecting it - too early etc. Had to do it and then put straight into my make up bag, then greet my MIL with good mornings and politeness and then about 10 minutes later I could finally checked my make up bag and found it had turned into a BFP...

Then did it again this morning and still BFP...

I haven't felt very pg though. Just slight nausea before meals and an aversion to the smell of coffee and alcohol.

Next step - hmmm lie low until it's 4 weeks i reckon....don't kick me off the bus just yet.

I ovulated early so i'm guessing thats why it showed up early.

Bettymamma · 26/08/2009 16:35

ps - i'm realising how gross putting a pg test in your makeup bag is...
