X post
Blue sorry i made you a day nearer scan. Wish I could do it for real. sending you a hug through with your friend from Paisley

kate Hormones and waiting don't go together lol

GracieGirl · 28/07/2009 09:28

Morning all.

Sorry AF got you Hoping , looking on the bright side that means you and 4ever are now perfectly timed to sneak a BFP in just before Vjay gives birth.

Morning MrsKate, did DH make it make to work today? It will take a fair while to sink in that you're pregnant, probably about 14 weeks I think!

Barbie and Curly I now look pot bellied too and I'm wearing maternity trousers all the time as can't even fasten my normal clothes using the elastic band round the button trick anymore. Though I've not put any weight on despite eating myself silly, I just have even skinnier arms and legs, which is going to look silly if it carries on. I think its cos I've completely gone off sweet things and chocolate. I would normally eat my body weight in chocolate most days, now I eat dark chocolate but a bar lasts me about a week and eat my body weight in raspberries.

Buddha I start my job tomorrow, I'm just a little nervous (woke up at 6am this morning stressing). Its a shame Mumsnet is banned across the hospital so I can't get on it from any computer. Still haven't really made any plans on what I'm supposed to be doing, and I know the room I'm supposed to be using has absolutely no furniture in it whatssoever.

GracieGirl · 28/07/2009 09:32

X posted Neeko - I like my new name!

Its good to hear that MLS, Mermaid and Jools are doing ok. Big waves from Gracie.

Neeko · 28/07/2009 09:40

Gracieverystretchedmediumpants Thought it was a lovely compromise. Don't worry about the weight thing. The 2nd trimester is looming and you'll be blooming all over. Even my feet grew with DD.
Maybe you're getting a beanbag in your office
What's happening with MrsKate? Will she get an office job too?

barbie1 · 28/07/2009 09:59

so its only me thats a fattie in the first trimester then

barbie makes mental note to herself to book an appointment at the gym to see what excercises she can do....and highlights must start right away

GracieGirl · 28/07/2009 09:59

No Kate is a different rank to me so she's being moved out of A&E to a safer clinical area. Its a 6 bedded ward so it will be really boring but that's no bad thing when you're pregnant.

BuddhaBellybigpants · 28/07/2009 10:03

Gracie Good luck with the new job today, hope they get something for you to sit on at least As mad as it sounds I'm of your weight gain, I'm 20 wks and still in normal clothes! I was a cuddly girl to start with so obviously have more room to play with, definately getting bump envy now, sure I will regret that soon
Sabs Please note my name change just for you
Barbie Scan picture, scan picture, scan picture!!!
Hoping Sorry she got you
Neeko Thanks for the update on mermaid & Jools

cupcakefairy · 28/07/2009 10:09

Morning ladies
I saw a car this morning with BFP on the end of its number plate, hope it's a sign although my cycle is definitely playing tricks on me this month I can't tell what's going on at all... dh is quite happy with that though as it has meant bd every day for the last week! Iggy would be proud I'd like to know what you've been reading too ig I'm currently reading The Hours and loving it! Also how are the OPKs going??

Neeko so glad you got in touch with our MIA Emmsys and very happy to know they are ok! Sorry I made you cry but I'm hoping the hormones = very sticky bean!!

Hi Curly your post made me sad about your SIL bless her. But at least you know to be sensitive to her and I assume she knows about your mcs so she will know you're not all smug about being pg. I love big family weekends away, hope you have a real blast. Hope you're feeling ok about tomorrow. Remember, bean doesn't need the scan

Gracie and Barbie how great that you are starting to get bumps!! Sooo excited by that!

4ever really hope today's meeting is positive; thinking of you loads xxx

Hoping sorry AF got you but I really hope gracie's prediction is right and you and 4ever both sneak into those medium pants before baby Vjay arrives

Vjay you still drinking the tea? I actually really like raspberry tea myself but will only drink it during AF cos I know it would be bad during early pregnancy!

Buddha good for you watching films instead of housework! That's definitely my kind of day off! Seven Pounds made me cry too

anniebigpants · 28/07/2009 10:10

Morning ladies, im off for a bra fitting soon, but thought i would squeeze a post in first.

Firstly-thinking of MLS Mermaid and Jools-hope to see you all back with us soon, but totally understand your need to step back from the thread sometimes, you are all missed.

Sabs-Only 2 weeks of work left for you now, yeyyy! Hope the next few weeks pass by quickly for you, the last weeks are so hard as you get bigger and bigger.

Hoping-Sorry AF got you this month, heres to your August BFP, at least you know you may have ov,d early this month, so can get all bases covered next month, go girl!

MrsKate-Ive already text you to send you my congrats, but i really am over the moon for you.

Neeko-Glad you're embracing your pregnancy now,are you gong to add bigpants to your name when you join us on the big pants list?

Blue-Hope the next 7 sleeps till your scan go fast for you. Are you planning on finding out the flavour?

Buddha-Hope you like the comfy not-too-low seat i chose for you?
Hope the time goes quickly to your scan on the 7th, only 10 more sleeps!

VJay-Hope the raspberry leaf tea is going well, and hope time isnt dtagging too much for you.

Curly-Airshow was fab thankyou, Red Arrows were just the best!
Best of luck with your scan tomorrow if i dont get back on here before then.

BakingQueen-Yeeey for passing your exams, clever girl!
Boo to having to be on a 3ww though, fingers tightly crossed for you.

barbie-Fantastic news, so pleased for you

Iggy-Hope jury service going well.

4ever-Bless you my lovely, for thinking of me, i hope it didnt upset you too much going back to the awful time you had with number 3 LO.
Good luck wuth the tests on your levels, hope the 2 weeks until you get the results goes quick, and hope its the best it can be, and you are still covered.
Big hugs to you and your DH XX

Cupcake-It WILL be your turn soon hun X

Ginger-Any sign of AF yet? Hope she stays away and you get your BFP.

Gracie-Re expanding waistlines, i got some bellybands from the internet, they fix onto the waist band of your existing clothes and enable you to wear them in comfort, im sorry i cant do a link (im not that clever with technology im afraid) but if you Google you will see what im on about.

DS as been so cute about the news of his impending little brother, i was afraid he was going to be quite upset has he has been saying its a little girl in my tummy. He took the news quite well that he was having a baby brother instead of a sister, but that night when we were having a snuggle in his bed, he turned to me and said 'Mammy, when you went to see the lady today about the baby, did she say there was no little girl babys left?'
Bless my DS and his innocence.I just told him 'yes darling, she did'

cupcakefairy · 28/07/2009 10:17

Aaaawwww annie that is adorable!

OP posts:
GracieGirl · 28/07/2009 10:18

Aawww *Annie how cute!!!

VJaybigpants · 28/07/2009 10:48

annie your ds is soooo cute, bless him

hoping and 4ever I do hope you get your bfp's before I pop, I think that's a good challenge set by gracie.

Talking of barbies scan picture, I'm sure a few of you are ready to post baby belly pictures now.....come on

I've been to see my lovely doc today, blood pressure was fine, wee was fine, heartbeat was fine....so in a manner of speaking, we are fine .....29 days to go.....

VJaybigpants · 28/07/2009 10:48

gracie maybe you could get a bouncing birth ball for your office, then you can join me

iggypiggy · 28/07/2009 11:58

Hello all!

Am still reading in earnest

I am reading chick lit. Mainly jane Green books. Am just about to start a ben Elton book. Anyone got any book recommendations? I will pretty much read anything!

sorry not to catch up properly. Is hard on my phone

cupcake am well impressed! We only managing every other day

waves to you all x x x x

hopingalways · 28/07/2009 12:22

iggy I can recommend "100 years of solitude" by Garbriel Garcia Marquez or "Nights at the Circus" by Angela Carter for absorbing reads I'm reading the Golden Notebook by Dorris Lessing right now, and laughing at the 1950s

Annie bless! I love the idea that you just didn't get the order for a little girl in on time

vjay in my head I think your birthing ball must look like a space hopper, I have visions of lots of big panters here having space hopper races

cupcake bding every day? every other day is a struggle here...Dh and I have been talking "bd strategy" - Dh has got really into cycle dates and best time to conceive etc. I think our inner nerds are escaping . thanks for your sympathy about the stupid things people keep saying I know they don't mean to upset me, they just either don't know I'm in the ttc/rmc place or they just don't know what to say to me.

dh wants me to stop mumsnetting he thinks it's fueling my obsession. Have explained to him that before I found you lovely ladies I felt like a complete freak and totally alone. I still don't know anyone in RL who's going through what I am, but tucked up on the Emmsys sofa with people who understand, I can be brave and hopeful enough to keep heading onwards and upwards!

for the sake of a happy marriage, I've agreed to lurk and post a little less - so if you don't here from me please don't think I'm abandoning you!

Aww hoping my sh said the exact same thing the other day that I should MN as much, and I responded exactly how you did! That people here understand what we're going through... so I try to go on a little less at home and stick to work time instead (It is technically my lunch time now ) Hope you won't be too much of a stranger...

Ooh iggy now there's a question! I am a book freak and could recommend hundreds!!
Here's a few of my faves-
For classics:
Persuasion by Jane Austen
The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

More modern ones:
The Secret History by Donna Tartt (AMAZING)
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
How to Talk to a Widower by Jonathan Tropper

Lighter reads:
Ralph's Party by Lisa Jewell (or any others of hers, she's great!)
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult (not a massive fan of hers but this book is def absorbing!)
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
Marley & Me by John Grogan (both of these made me laugh loads!)

Ok, I could go on all day

OP posts:
cupcakefairy · 28/07/2009 13:40

Lol, I meant dh not sh... although sh would be good for when I mean 'silly husband'
Right, off to eat some lunch...

bluesatinsash · 28/07/2009 14:27

oooh cupcake - you know your literature .

My friend's just left and DS napping. she was quiziing me all about ttc and fertile times etc - I resisted getting out the old flip chart though but let's just say she's better informed on departure than she was when she came in .

Annie - at your DS, bless him. We don't get told the flavour at our health board and I don't mind as like to have a wee surprise waiting for me. Convinced I'm having a girl though, so we'll see. Mini Boden profits may just go through the roof if it's a pink one .

Vjay - if all goes well next Tues I'll do a double whammy of bump and scan photo as bump is very round now . Great to hear all well at docs. T-minus 29 days...

Gracie - hope your new desk bound job is going OK.

Neeko - bless you for remembering my scan is next week. I spent the night before all my early scans thinking 'well this could be the last evening of being pg' - awful but the way it was unfortunately.

hopeful - don't go offline too long...

Glad to hear mermaid and Jools are OK. I'm going to message MLS* on FB later.

kate - still chuffed to bits for you

Buddhabigpants - your bump will be here before you know it!

Neeko · 28/07/2009 15:36

Afternoon. The Wonderpets are on in our house so I have at least 10 mins of peace

Blue i think your scan date stuck in my head because I remembered that you usually don't tell us until afterwards. Naughty girl! Glad you've helped yur friend. I've had a couple of similar conversations. Seems to be a topic I'm quite enthusiastic about.

Iggythephonelurker Still at your reading. If you like drama please read A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. That's my favourite. I'm quite an ecclectic reader. I love the classics but have a Jodi Picoult joy too. In fact I'll read anything. Cupcake names some of my favourite books.

Cupcake and Hoping I had the same conversation with my DH and that's when i took a break. When I fell apart and he couldn't understand why he wasn't long in working out that you lot actually help keep me sane and he sent me back When I got my BFP he even reminded me to tell you. As if I'd forget!

Annie Your DS is sooo cute.Made me cry(again!) at bigpants question. That's just sooooo far away right now that I can't even hope that far ahead

Buddha You've still plenty time for a big bump and at least you're only putting on baby. I've mentioned on here befoe that I put on almost 4 stones with DD so be glad you're not showing yet as I never lost it all.

Vjay so pleased everything is fine. theoretically you could go in a fortnight. (That'll get those in the race moving )

Gracie Hope job is going well. Shame you and kate can't work together but glad she's moved somewhere safer.

Ok the taskmaster is calling. My time is up!

BlueMoon1981 · 28/07/2009 15:44

hello chatty ladies

everyone seems very upbeat, i like it, makes me too. have just spent the afternoon baking and making a mess everywhere, had 2 days off work to do nothing, its been bliss. stayed with dps mum yesterday which was really nice and now just having some time together doing not too much.

think this thread is going to be really lucky, hope there are some more to come. cant wait til i am a contender too, a few short long weeks til me and dp ttc again . its done wonders just knowing that we will definitely try again, even though i still have my quiet moments, i can at least look forward.

hope everyone is ok, still beaming for neeko and kate

anniebigpants · 28/07/2009 16:01

Hello moon, i look forward to seeing your name on the medium pants (and then big pants) list soon

Well, went and got my norks measured today and nearly fell through the floor, im 36H already!!! At this rate am going to need 2 mail bags sewn together come December, now thats a task for you hoping , seeing as you are so talented!!

cupcakefairy · 28/07/2009 16:15

Girls I just want to cry. Yet another friend has just announced a pregnancy with a scan pic on facebook.

What am I doing wrong??

I know this is only my 3rd cycle but why does it have to take so bloody long?

(By the way, I really don't want the preg ladies on here to feel bad! I am over the moon for all of you, you know that. It's just when it's all around you in RL it's so tough )

OP posts:
anniebigpants · 28/07/2009 16:21

Aww cupcake-sending you big hugs, its shite when that happens. You're not doing anything wrong hunny, and 3 cycles will feel like a lifetime to you, but it will be your turn soon, and i dont mean that to sound patronising in any way or form.
