Blue I think on Christmas day you'll be wearing nothing but a pair of socks & a pained expression as you puff & pant your way through labour!

VJaybigpants · 28/08/2009 11:56

mm lovely to see you, hope you are keeping well

mls glad you've had you're first appointment and got a due date, roll on your first scan

blue good on you for treating yourself to your lovely dress, you could wear it in labour, but wouldn't recommend it Is it cold where you are today, it's a proper autumnal day up here, I'm going to put a jumper on in a minute.

VJaybigpants · 28/08/2009 11:58

sabs missed your post before, I have been wondering what pants I will be in next, they won't be small pants that's for sure, more likely passionkillerpants

MummyLovesSadie · 28/08/2009 11:59

or disposable pants!

mm1509 · 28/08/2009 12:12

vjay after labour more like chastity pants.....ouch.

blue you go treat yourself girl, you deserve it.

mls now you have an official due date, time to count down till your scan.

MummyLovesSadie · 28/08/2009 12:23

MM I'm trying to work out how pregnant I am as I thought I was 5+2 but the doctor said I'm nearly 6 & if that is the case then I need to book in for my scan next week.

mm1509 · 28/08/2009 12:32

mls The doctor has always varied from my due date, are you having an early scan, if so I would suggest you book in at about 7-8 weeks going with your own dates so as not too early.

MummyLovesSadie · 28/08/2009 12:44

Yes I think I will, I'd love one sooner rather than later but the chances of them finding a heartbeat just yet are slim. I can't wait to be at your stage! I even did another pregnancy test yesterday to see how dark the line was & I'm constantly prodding my boobs to make sure they still hurt. Right I'll stop whinging now,

MrsKate · 28/08/2009 12:48

hi all

mls im the same still now even after scan. im just awiaitng on my 12 week scan that all is wrong . let the boob pressing commence

anniebigpants · 28/08/2009 13:02

Hello ladies, sorry ive been away for ages, so so busy at work, im shattered by the end of the day, still only 11 weeks at work to go before i go on maternity leave .
Everything still going well so far so good, bump is massive, and LO kicks me virtually constantly, he goes mad when DS strokes my bump and talks to him, you can feel him squirming and wriggling all over. Im 26 weeks now, time going quite fast!
Sorry no time to post to everyone individually, but i think the world of you all. Sending big hugs to everyone who needs one. XXX

mm1509 · 28/08/2009 13:25

hi annie sounds like you have an active lo in there, it is just the best feeling.

mls and kate the paranoia and sheer terror we feel at the beginning is torture, the time seems to go so slow and all you do is wish your life away.........but each day does pass and you do get through it, eventually. I have only started settling down now that I can feel my lo moving. Just take care and remember there are lots of prayers quietly being said for you and all the ladies on this wonderful thread.

kate hope the sickness is settling down a bit, I kept getting told that severe sickness is a good sign although at the time their words meant little to me, turns out they were right though, try keeping that thought in mind when you are feeling down.

hopingalways · 28/08/2009 14:07

Aww, so pleased to see so many happy things on this thread!

hurry up Optimus! your cyber aunties want to meet you at last!

kate and mls deep breaths, you'll be big panters before you know it! you too neeko!

welcome back bakingqueen fingers crossed for you and your opks

still pretty tranquil here though did get miffy at DH for deciding that our agreement to eat properly and stop drinking till we get our BFP only applied to me. grr. Still, now in a happy place where I only want a baby, rather than can not see a point to my continuing existence without one . I was so happy when I realised this that I started to cry. Poor dh was so confused when I was blubbing into his shirt, he asked if there was anything he could do to make me less happy so I would stop leaking?

sun's just come out and it's the bank holiday in 2 hours! let the good times roll

anniebigpants · 28/08/2009 15:19

lovely to see you so upbeat hoping. Hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend with your lovely DH.

mermaidspurse · 28/08/2009 16:24

ok vjay friday is curry nite you eat lots of curry, your dh can twiddle your nips and by tomorrow we can all be going ohh and ahhh and probably ouch in equal measures
then you can call yourself vjaynohopeofgettinganyknickersonbeforemidday

hope you all have an ace bank holiday, big star to hopingxxx

Joolsiam · 29/08/2009 12:46

Vjay - I hope you're not still here

Barbie - thanks for the B&B suggestions Unfortunately, all the good ones look to be either already fully booked or cost a minimum of £80 per night We are now looking at a local company with holiday cottages to rent - could get a 2 bedroom cottage for 3 nights for £200 between 2 couples, so I think we may well go for that option

Neeko - glad your booking in appt went well. I think I'd have been in floods too ! Policy here is to do booking in at 8 weeks, but Im not going to bother till after I've had a good scan next time

4Ever your mental picture of me is spot on We've had a few very "busy" and enjoyable few days Have been testing the upsuck theory from MLS - report on experiment will be delivered in about 2 weeks

Happy bank holiday weekend to everyone I've done the gym, changed the beds and am about to steam clean the bedroom carpet one more time before we have to give the machine back. Off out tonight to a fab Italian restaurant - busy day

barbie1 · 29/08/2009 14:39

my computer wouldnt let me access mn for the last few days i miss you...still no news from vjay?

Nothing is happening here, the warm weather is starting to drain me a little but ive made more of an effort to do things after work this week so dh and i have spent some quality time together visiting a few places we hadnt got around to seeing before. Bit like being on holiday! Last night we went out for 'iftar' this is the meal muslims can eat after 7pm is called, traditionally they break fast by eating dates but as normal dubai has turned it into a huge commercial money making idea and now all hotels offer a full buffet 7 til 8...we went to the jumeriah beach hotel and a big tent was erected on the beach, very pretty and cool....we had views of the burj hotel and we all ended up walking along the beach in the dark afterwards. Thankfully you cant drink so everyone was as sober as me for a change

jools have you booked somewhere now? you will love it down there...make sure you have a traditional pasty and a pint of cider!

Neeko · 30/08/2009 08:46

Hi all.
Sorry I've not posted in a while, I have been lurking, but work is manic and I have one foot in MeltdownLand so it's probably better if I'm not posting. I've been losing symtoms over past few days in the same way I did before MMC in March so I'm trying to ignore pregnancy and brace myself for scan on Thursday. Think the fact that I should have started mat leave on Friday for lost LO isn't helping.
DH and I had a very frank discussion yesterday morning about whole thing and I had to admit that if this time doesn't work out I probably wont try again, at least for a long time Not being maudlin, just trying to face what might be...

Anyway, lots of love to you all. I was to see emails from iggy and ginger and hope that both are managing to deal with things in their own way. Thinking of you all a lot. Hugs to all.

Vjay really hope you're huffing and puffing right now. If not I hope the sweep goes well on Monday.

Special thoughts are with those of you who have difficult days coming up. I'm with you mentally. x

barbie1 · 30/08/2009 08:54

neeko i understand what you are going through but please please dont give up yet, remember about the same week as you are now i had bleeding and no symptoms...but it turned out ok.....we are all here for you as and when you need some support. Big hugs xx

barbie1 · 30/08/2009 08:56

ps can you not push for an earlier scan, call up the hospital and explain you are having all the same symptoms, good luck x

Neeko · 30/08/2009 09:11

Thanks Barbie I don't want an earlier scan as this way I still have hope til Thursday and I'm not quite ready to give up on my dreams yet. Also I've had no bleeding so they probably wouldn't change the scan date. I know all of you who are further on than me have had rocky roads too so still have my fingers crossed.

GracieGirl · 30/08/2009 11:21

Neeko Have my hand to hold too. I wish we could have a time machine to get you to a nice healthy 20 weeks.

bluesatinsash · 30/08/2009 13:02

Neeko I'm squeezing your hand too and am praying for a good scan for you on Thursday.

MC is heartbreaking in so many ways but robbing us of enjoyment of future pregnancies is one of the cruelest .

On a melancholy but positive note, one year ago today I was miscarrying on my bathroom floor, one year on I'm lying in bed this morning feeling 23 week old lo kick. Never give up hope....

anniebigpants · 30/08/2009 14:03

Neeko-have my hand to hold too, praying for a good scan for you Thursday.
I echo what blue says re MC is heartbreaking, and robbing us of enjoying subsequent pregnancies is cruel.

Joolsiam · 30/08/2009 18:28

Neeko - you've run out of hands, so I'll put myself in charge of hair strokes, a never ending supply of choc and some positive thinking x x

VJaybigpants · 30/08/2009 18:59

Neeko I'm with jools doing the hair strokes, we will all get you to Thursday, and pray for the best news

Yes I'm still here
