Shiny new thread for us

The race is on for the first BFP!

OP posts:
LionstarBigPants · 12/08/2009 13:19

Hi girls, remember me??? Have to confess I'm feeling a bit guilty about abandoning this thread since we went on holiday . Thing is I have been lurking, but there is always so much news to catch up on I read but just can't manage one of those mammoth posts to catch up! Anyway bumped into Annie on another thread and she has shamed me into coming back.

Please forgive me not posting individually to you all, but it would have to turn into an essay! Do want to say congrats to all those with shiney BFPs though. Also to send big hugs to those who are finding things difficult Jools espcially ((hugs)). One of the things I'm finding difficult about posting on here is the multi-purpose nature of the thread covering misscarriage, conception and pregnancy. I have read some of the other (lovely & eloquent) thoughts that many of you have been posting about this, and I really hope that the support that is being given around all three topics is enough to make up for the occasional moments of awkwardness.

So a bit of news from the Lionstar house, we are now 33 weeks (eeek!) and have a huge and very fidgety bump - it feels like I have bruises on the inside. For a short time only I have posted a couple of pics from holiday, including a bump one - though it's MUCH bigger now! I'm not getting much sleep and DD seems to be picking up on some tension as she now comes in to our room at least 3 times a night - so even less sleep! Otherwise she seems excited, and is adamant it is a sister (though I'm still feeling boy). Most of the babies we have come across recently have been girls so that is probably been influencing her - the latest is a new cousin who arrived last Friday called Kiera.

Am very excited for vjay who could pop any minute now, and gives me some hope that this discomfort will end Of course we just swap one form of discomfort for another - even less sleep, sore nipples, lochia etc. Can't believe I'm even looking forward to that! Want to wave to sabs too, wonder how close our births will actually be? Funny you should mention blocked ears, since about 27 weeks I've had the same problem, starts off OK in the morning but as the day wears on it feels like they are gradually filling up with water, and everything sounds echoy like when you're at a swimming pool. Am just hoping it goes after the birth.

Anyway I have rambled on long enough. Hope you all forgive me for disappearing

4everhopeful · 12/08/2009 13:31

Oooh Lionstar so nice to see you! 33 weeks omg?! Yep our multi purpose thread is kinda interesting isnt it?!

Vjay will be making it even more multi purpose as will also be newborn/post natal discussions v soon!

Sabs your dh sounds wonderful doing the baby shower, happy anniversary to you both as well!

Ahh look at you 3! (in fact 6!) I feel like a proud mum surveying you all & thinking how amazing we've been together & watched the whole journey! Its awe inspiring, truly...

Blue you're not actually that far behind, Barbie when Curlys back are you gonna brave it & change into big pants? Mrskate 7 weeks already?! Not long til fri hon! Only 2 sleeps!

Neeko · 12/08/2009 13:58

Hi all. having a sneaky lurk between housework.

4ever Thanks for the lovely post. Hopefully there'll be too much celebrating of new babies and birhdays that weekend to concentrate on feeling sad.

Blue My DD will be 3 on her birthday The time has truly flown. Lol at the felt tip. they're not welcome in this house

Lion lovely to see you and beautiful pics. Hope the rest of your time flies in.

Sabs Nice to see you too. I actually said AWWWW out loud at your baby shower! Happy belated anniversary. I'm really angry at your work stuff but hope you can move on and focus on you and bubba. Sorry to hear about your grandad. Hope he finds the strength and gets the treatment he needs. Fingers crossed for your scan too.

Kate My hand is here for you for Friday. Hope all is well.

Vjay It all sounds promising. Come on cyber-nephew! we can't wait to meet you.

Barbie your posts made me laugh.

Gracie you must be working too hard and needing lots of sleep. We haven't heard from you in a while.

Ok, I guess it's time to do the ironing now...

hopingalways · 12/08/2009 17:46

just passing through ladies! In light of so many small panters taking a break, just letting you know all OK here, I'm just busy decorating and gardening on my week off work!

so far so good on the BDing front...cautiously optimistic for this month! No symptom spotting though, so nobody tempt me!

chat properly soon!

BlueMoon1981 · 12/08/2009 18:50

today im on cd30, but dont get too excited yet as my cycle can be up to 35 or even 40 days on occasions. its just weird i have these cramping pains and back ache which i very rarely get with af we had our cheeky bd a whole week before i think i ovulated, whats going on?! i hadn't bargained on this so i haven't even contemplated testing and i'm a bit worried too, and now i sound heartless....

you know when you are young and you said in a fleeting comment...'and i'll find a nice man and have 2 kids'... who ever thought it would it be so complicated?

SabsBigPants · 12/08/2009 20:17

Evening ladies, anyone out there?

I better clear up that it wasnt my DH who organised my baby shower, but my friends and family. DH's job was to make sure I got to my mums on time, and making sure I was wearing a nice outfit. He even suggested getting a new haircut which im glad i did in the end! He is a lovely DH though, and takes good care of me!

barbie glad i gave you a laugh!

blue Hope you had a nice lunch with DH. Your DS sounds so cute. I need to let back to my work with an answer in the next couple of weeks, but Im due to speak to someone who helped me with the grievance and has experience with these kinds of issues next week, so will make my mind up then.

lionstar my EDD buddy of course we havent forgotten you! SO nice to hear from you and your latest news. Hope to hear from you again real soon

moon so tru about how when were young all we want to do is grow up and experience grown up things and expect things to go as planned...

GracieGirl · 13/08/2009 11:30

Hello!

Sorry I haven't posted much recently, though I have been lurking everyday. Getting up at 6:30am to be at work for 8am is really tiring me out even though the work isn't that hard. I end up coming home at the end of the day, eating, quick lurk on mumsnet then off to bed about 7pm. I'm off now till tuesday so I'm going up to Hull to stay with a friend for a few nights, I'll be back either saturday or sunday.

Waves to all!

MrsKate · 13/08/2009 11:32

hi all

hi iggy still feel really rough but im happy about it im scared about scan tho

sounds funny but i want to get back to work as i am bored !!!!!!

barbie1 · 13/08/2009 12:50

Hello girls...

Been a little quiet for the last few days but lurking....feeling rough, tired and sick still. Really thought you woke up 12 plus 1 and everything would be nice, blooming, glowing and more energy...yeah right!

Im 13 weeks today, for some reason i cant get the tory of Kym marsh (cornation st) out of my head, as she lost her baby at 14 weeks. Keep thinking it might happen to me, after all she must of had a scan at week 12 right? and everything was ok.....and then it wasnt trying to be positive but i just cant stop thinking about it

annie i love the name ellis, my friend had a little one called that and he was the cutest thing ever!

lion i was thinking about you the other day (watching discovery channel about lions ) was wondering where you had gotten to and then you pot the next day! wow at 33 weeks any names yet???

vjay have you popped???????

sabs bless your family, i wont get a baby shower due to havinh no family here however i know i will be spolit rotten when we go home we are planning our last bbq in jan a few weeks before edd for all of our friends....

gg right with you on the tiredness girl....

iggy new shoes....umm what colour? i miss wearing heel!

mrskate how you dong hun, good luck for your scan...lol at the fb messages. Only one person has picked up on my clues and asked if i was pregnant, for most it just goes over their heads im thinking of my next one......

neeko how are you doing, any more nightmares?

mermaid i hope the kitchen is sorted soon, thankfully we can not do anything to this house, after the last year of renovations im more than happy to live in a white box

jools ah what can i say? im so glad you are back with us my lovely, as you know i have been stalking you on fb!

4ever good news about the 6 weeks....i dont really understand your treatment too much but im glad you are staying strong and positive

cupcake have you finished work yet? my brain is failing me testing day soon?????

moon oh fingers crossed for you, the first sign i had was a bad back.....

blue enjoy your trip up north, make sure you take pics and you and vjay (and baby if he makes a show!)

hoping any signs?

Hello to anyone i have missed, im about to interview a cleaner...just for a few hours a week. Mainly to do the floors, is so hard with the dog!

iggypiggy · 13/08/2009 13:38

hi barbie

they are brown - ha ha... and they aren't very high... also I think I have bizarre taste in shoes - these are they:

Brown Shoes

You have a labrador - they shed the most hair ever you def need a cleaner

4everhopeful · 13/08/2009 14:12

Tis quiet today!

Tried to sneak a peek at your sandals Igs but work server wouldnt let me! Its def getting sunnier here in souf london isnt it?!

Hello tired & worried Barbie! Stop worrying about Kym Marsh she was 32 wks! Hope all goes well with your mrs mop! I just thought, your baby will be an official arab if you're having it over there! Cool to have dual nationality! I dont really understand my treatment either btw!

Mrskate incase I dont come back on - have my hand to hold now ready for your scan tomorrow! Wishing supersticky thoughts to you! xx

iggypiggy · 13/08/2009 15:47

4ever is lovely today! sandals are called Vula by Fly London - am guessing your work blocked the ebay link

mrsKate good luck for scan!

VJaybigpants · 13/08/2009 18:35

hi ladies, no I've not popped, but I don't feel too great. Saw the midwife today who said I looked flushed and could tell I was in a bit of pain, she said it could be things starting or an infection . She took a swab and some bloods. I've spent all afternoon in bed, with ds looking after me . I got up an hour ago and the pains are back, but no tightenings, I don't know what's up. Baby is fine though so that's good . Will have to let blue know via text I don't want her catching anything, unless it's labour then she can visit me with some grapes

VJaybigpants · 13/08/2009 18:35

Forgot, I came on here to wish kate good luck for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you

BlueMoon1981 · 13/08/2009 19:16

hello ladies, nice to have something to read when i get in from work, its been so quiet lately! well af arrived with a vengeance today, more painful than usual, i guess its still my body sorting itself out. kind of relieved in a weird way that i wasnt pg as i hadnt mentally prepared myself for that. but now i can join all you small panters in the battle for a bfp and i get to finish off the 2 open bottles of wine in the fridge have a strange sense of calm about me at the moment, i feel like i am finally accepting everything and thinking about the future and there is a spark of light at the end of that big dark tunnel. thank you to every single one of you for helping me through the darkest times when i didnt want to carry on, i am pretty certain i would have given up without you all. group hug anyone?

Neeko · 13/08/2009 20:39

Evening. I'm rushing in for moon's group hug. Glad that you're ok about AF and forging ahead for next month. Hope you can manage to TTC with serenity and no false symptom spotting

kate Best of luck for tomorrow. I wish it was me but at least I'm next

Iggy I love the shoes and you'll still be able to wear them when you get your BFP!

Barbie I think you're not on the email list? AF got Cupcake and she's having some quality time out with her DH. I have to disagree with both you and 4ever as I think Kym Marsh was 21 weeks. Whenever it happened is irrelevant because it's not happening to you.

Gracie Nice to hear from you. have a great time with your friends.

Sabs just let your DH take the credit since it happens so little.

Blue have a fab mini break Hope your DH doesn't do himself an injury carrying all the bags. I can't get my head round the fact that DD will be starting nursery in January, far less school 2 years on Monday. Still hopefully by then we'll be very distracted by toddlers

Vjay Hope your body is just preparing and it isn't anything nasty. Laughter is supposed to be a great starter for labour so make sure you and Blue have a good giggle on Saturday.

I'm all jammied up and ready for work in the morning. I know I can't complain after almost 7 weeks off but had tears in my eyes reminding DD at bedtime that Mummy has to go to work tomorrow - bloody hormones

Big waves to everyone else, especially the lurkers. I'll be lurking more from now on but won't be far away.

Joolsiam · 13/08/2009 20:48

Big hello to Neeko as I knew I'd forgotten someone the other day and I really really should not forget the lovely person who manages to cheer me up with texts just at the right time

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Kate Iggy - am jealous of the shoes. I can only wear granny sandals as I have square feet - EE width fitting

Right, sticking my head back in the sand now and trying to ignore my enormous cleavage and mild cramping - its all in the mind

Neeko · 13/08/2009 20:53

Hi Jools - impossible to keep up with everyone all the time on this thread
Not even commenting on the very promising non-existant symptoms

MrsKate · 14/08/2009 09:45

just off to scan and then ive got to go to work for a few hours only if scan is ok so il txt a few people who numbers i have got as sson as im done xxxx

barbie1 · 14/08/2009 09:47

mrskate what time is your scan, have been checking all morning only to once again forget about the bloody time difference!

jools not going to mention your symptoms at all, i have a very nice hello kitty bucket and spade if you want to borrow it to dig the hole in the sand

iggy labs are the worse! i have to swept through at least twice a day, its so noticable on a white tiled floor. Thankfully mrs mop didnt mind the dog and is more than happy to come around three hours a week....although i have been tidying up this morning so its nice and clean for when she arrive 8am on sunday morning!
Nice shoes by the way...

4ever im glad im not the only one who doesnt understand your treatment i thought i was being totally blonde not to get it! I keep winding people up telling them we shall have to call our baby mohammed if its a boy due to the rules of dubai! I dont think the baby gets a dual nationality passport, just british ill have to look into that.

vjay oh poor love, you sound so uncomfortable, i hope you go into labour very soon and its all over for you...it will be nice if blue could meet her new cyber nephew when she arrives on sat.

moon im sorry af arrive but very happy that you sound so positive, loved the group hug by the way

neeko hope your first day back goes ok, you will be so tired..take it easy and get to bed early!

I have no idea where the Kym marsh storie came from for some reason i read she lost it at 14 weeks and its stuck in my mind ever since but neeko was right it was 22 weeks

Had a little cry to dh last, about how im not at all relaxed during this pregnancy and its such a shame...i cant fit into any of my clothes and im still not over ms and the tiredness...felt even worse crying because i know so many of you would give anything to be in my position. All i can say is the horror mones must be really getting to me lately. Feel slightly better today, dh has gone to a beer festival and im have a totally quiet day on the sofa...

iggypiggy · 14/08/2009 09:55

Hello! Is friday yay!

jools do you ever get shoes from duo - link here

I get boots from there cos I have skinny calves (ridiculous and out of proportion) - they do width fitting shoes too! I really like their stuff - and is nice to wear boots that fit and don't make me look like am wearing wellies

neeko can't believe your 7 weeks off has gone so fast...

barbie I have a mrs mop too - and she loves our lab Don't feel bad about crying! You can't help your hormones! All I did when I was PG was cry it seems...

I have nothing for you... I think I am CD30 - but based on ovulating slightly late - I reckon AF due on Monday...

Joolsiam · 14/08/2009 10:05

We are almost cycle buddies then Iggy

I think AF is due on Tuesday, but going on previous experience, I will be spotting from tomorrow night, so should have an idea one way or the other very soon.

Thanks for the shoe link - will check it out

SabsBigPants · 14/08/2009 12:13

mrskate texted me to say all went at the scan and that there is a good heartbeat

Hope everyone is having a good Friday...I have a cleaner in for the first time in my life! Feel all so posh
