So here it is... our shiney new thread... hope you all see it soon or i will be here all on my own.

OP posts:
Issy42 · 24/11/2009 00:13

Hi all - very busy on here. Sorry have read but can't respond just now as need to get to bed before hot milk heartburn remedy wears off. Just wanted to say saw mw again today, bp lower but still high for me, so they're keeping an eye on it but no more additional appointments as I have one every two weeks from now anyway. Good news is that bump measurement is back to 32.5 so on 70th percentile again (phew! - not expecting a baby elephant after all). Will post properly later in week.

SuziBhoy · 24/11/2009 12:29

hey everyone.. this place is busy....

just a quick post before getting to work... had another scan today and they have dated me at 8+2, so the early pg centre dont need to see me again woo hoo.... i can carry on like normal without getting poked and prodded every 2 days!! i cant believe ive actually got to this stage, its a first!!

hope you all are well, will catch up later xx

irishmumwannabe · 24/11/2009 13:08

Suzi that's great about the dates - here's hoping the next 4 weeks go really quickly for you.

Issy LOL at expecting a baby elephant glad that teh scan has put you at ease. Hope teh BP doesn't start going up on you.

Vanilla don't be silly - I read your post to mean the TTC threads for Blue, Head etc. not that you were completely dismissing us remainding TTCers. Hope teh back pain isn't too excruciating - have you tried heat pads? I swear by them when my back is killing me during AF.

Sunny I thougth it was spooky alright when Bubble came back teh day after I was asking about her. Might take you up on the preseed offer if I don't get my BFP this month (it won't be for lack of trying)
Hope your thyroid issues are all sorted soon and that Sunnybean tires themself out with Riverdance. (I remember at my wedding the DJ played Riverdance at the end of the night and we all went mental - took the English guests completely by surprise but they allowed themselves be dragged up and into the dance. It was the only time I took my shoes off all day - can't do Irish dancing in stiletto heels - very dangerous )

My new song for the week is

"All I want for Christmas is a BFP" (as opposed to my 2 front teeth) I am driving DH mad with it humming it all around and if anyone hears me they will jsut assume I'm singing the more common version! {grin]

Bathroom is being delivered on Friday, plumber is sorted - now just have to buy my tiles and get my tiler around when teh bathroom is delivered. My fence is also coming along - think I'm doing it the wrong way around and nesting before I even have a reason to nest. Pre emptive strike.

Hope you are all doing well.

wasabipeanut · 24/11/2009 15:33

Hello lovely ladies,

I?m taking some time out from painting the downstairs loo/oiling woodwork in family room to have a catch up. DH?s orders are to put my feet up for at least an hour during the day so who am I to argue? DS is still pinging round his room instead of sleeping but at least he can have some quiet time if not an actual snooze. When does mid afternoon snoozing become a huge luxury instead of an unbearable chore do you imagine?

All is well here. I had a rough day last week when I got some sort of sickness bug and spent the whole of last Thursday throwing up/sitting on sofa in PJ?s propped up on loads of cushions as laying down made me sick. Vile. Luckily it seemed to be a 24 hour thing so I was all fine again by Saturday to go and meet some girlfriends in London for a posh tea at The Berkeley! Annoyingly I got full really quickly but the cakes were soooooo preeeeetty. Bit of a struggle pulling my pregnant fat lady bod up to Knightsbridge though. I have the opposite issue to some of you in that baby Peanut is head down and ramming said head into my nether regions which makes walking a shade uncomfy. Honestly, a few times I have felt so much pressure bearing down on my ladybits that I have started to get a bit worried. I never had that sensation when pregnant with DS.

I had a flip at DH at the end of last week saying I NEEDED to get the nursery ready/get all the baby bits out and bless him he spent Saturday clearing all the boxes out of it, putting the cot up and generally emptying it so we can start cleaning and painting. That is on my task list for tomorrow/Thursday when DS is at his grandparents and nursery.

And now for some messages.

Irish Am seriously in envy of your plumbing arrangements! DH dreams of getting the crappy bathroom here fixed up for £200. Sadly, it is not going to happen. Hope the work all goes well. I think nesting pre emptively is sensible ? when you get your BFP you can chill and enjoy being pregnant and sit around Mumsnetting and watching telly rather than having to decorate every day! Good luck on the OPKs and BDing this month. I use to use the non digi ones as am a total tightwad so bought them in bulk online and it?s pretty easy to interpret if you start early so you know what the negative ones look like IYSWIM.

On the same subject Bubble I used to do mine late morning/early pm as you produce the hormone they check for v early in the morning and then metabolize it later that morning so it will appear in your wee from that point. If you use FMU alone you might miss it. Bear in mind I never used to ovulate (according to temps) until 2 clear days after I got my positive OPK so keep going!

Blue How was this week?s scan? Hope you and your DH enjoyed his birthday and you enjoyed taking your IO dress out to play! Can?t believe you are due so soon! Yes, Eric was well and truly black balled on the names thread ? to be fair I have gone off it now anyway. We?ll out that down to hormonal madness. We are sorted for a boy now I think girls shortlist actually got longer at the weekend .

Head Glad to hear your little bundle is dainty and very comfy sounding in her home! I hope your bumps and bruises have started to fade too. BTW, I found your VBAC thread about the ?rules? when lurking the other night and found it really informative and helpful so thanks for starting it. I have exactly the same concerns as you but intend to be very bolshy if necessary. I?m not taking it for granted that I will go into spontaneous labour though. If you want a planned CS you should be able to have one ? no pressure should be put on you otherwise. Your point that on one hand you get told that the risks of a rupture are weeny and yet on the other ?protocol? states you have to be hooked up to CFM, put a drip in, not allow you in birth pool etc. is a very good one ? and one I shall be using if hassled!

Vanilla Well I like your name! Glad you are but 2 months away from mummyhood and enjoying your preg bubble?it is a special time so enjoy it! I?m sure everyone has told you this but try not to fret about positioning unduly at this point ? they turn right at the last minute in some cases! Glad you are getting your reading up to date ? although mentioning Gina Ford on MN is always a gamble. We found Baby Whisperer stuff helpful at times. DS hated being put down and we used the shush/pat to gradually get him used to sleeping in his pram or crib or cot rather than on one of us. It is gentler and more humane IMO than leaving them to cry which I would never choose to do.

We had a Tummy Tub too and they are ace! It?s actually very practical from the parents point of view ? you have both hands free. The thought of holding a slippery wet infant in one arm in a traditional baby bath scared the crap out of me as I am so ham fisted. DS loved his pretty much from scratch although by 6 mo he was getting so chubby that the sight of him in the tub resembled a pink cork wedged into a bottle. He still loves water now and hurls himself off the edge of swimming pools with great abandon (with armbands on before anybody reports me). Whether or not this is a good is perhaps debatable.

Issy Glad the scan went well and that you are not likely to give birth to an elephant! The whole swabbing thing sounded horrid ? muchos sympathy there. I love your Welsh names too.

Suzi Glad it?s all going well ? 8 weeks already!

Sunny I?m sorry to hear of your issues about the thyroid medication ? what does your consultant say about it? Surely they shound be able to set your mind at reast about the implications of incorrect dosage? On a happier note - I felt this one early too ? it?s not just you! Glad to hear Sunnybean is riverdancing away happily.

Don?t suppose anyone has heard from Jumping have they?

bluesatinsash · 24/11/2009 16:00

oooh, lots of lovely mseeages to read - I like it

wasabi - yay! that your nursery is taking shape, your sickness bug gone and you have two free days coming up . Remember and do your hour's rest tomor/Thurs too though. Your ladies lunch sounded lovely and there is ALWAYS room for cake .

My ladybits are v. sore too, much more than they ever were with DS which is understandable as he had never engaged so never pressed down that end. Hoping this is boding well for positioning etc. as after yesterday's scan a VBAC is back on the cards for me .

My pregnancy has now been re-established as 'normal' in that heart rate a steady 140bpm, no blip, baby weighing @ 7lb, all good so I can go to 40 weeks or even beyond. Have my re-scheduled consultant appointment next week (the original one that was abandoned on 28th Oct as they rushed me through to Stirling to potentially deliver) to discuss birthing options etc. I know they won't induce me if I go over but they will now at least let me go into labour so as of this Friday I will be on 'operation get this baby out before 20th December' - raspberry leaf, pineapple, sex err no not yet, birthing ball etc. I may still get a section early doors if heart rate dips as they won't take any chances but at least a VBAC hasn't been ruled out in the way it was 5 weeks ago.

So there you go!

Head - so your DD has been head (pardon the pun) down all this time . Really hope you don't go overdue and get the birth you want whether it be a VBAC or CS. Sending lots of positive vibes that you and me are sitting cuddling lo's on xmas day

Suzi - yay! to be over 8 weeks. Hope the next four really fly by. December always does and I hope it does this year for many many reasons .

Issy - lol at you delivering an elephant - as if! Glad to hear your BP has gone back down.

Irish - your enthusiasm is radiating off the page girl . Really hope you get a BFP would be a lovely xmas pressie. I do love a swanky new bathroom too so very of that

Sunny my playlist is eclectic for sure . Let's just say its not everyday you'll fnd Kings of Leon alongside the Kids from Fame . I love it though especially all my guily pleasure tunes (We Built This City by StarShip and ...wait for it... 'Never Been to Me' by Charlene (June 1982) Glad to hear they've sorted your medication, your right to feel . Your pg is just galloping on

Vanilla - you will be a fabby Mum. Books are to be used as a guide and babies don't conform to schedules - if only! I read them more to be aware of potential bad habits but did find them an excellent benchmark to defer back to. Have a lovely image of you in a black catsuit BTW

Bubble - your DH must be loving you this month . Sending heaps of babydust your way...

Still waiting for news on Jumping

Love to all on this hellish rainy day xx

irishmumwannabe · 27/11/2009 09:39

2 identical lines on the OPK today - woohoo.

We BD'd on Tuesday and Wednesday, took a night off last night and am going to BD tonight and tomorrow

I never thought that I would be discussing how many times DH and I BD on an internet forum. strange the things this TTC lark does to you isn't it?

irishmumwannabe · 28/11/2009 18:02

Oh no TMI has kled the thread - come back please I won't say anthing like that ever again.

Am in such a good cos we won the rugby against SA and we are going to have a good one tonight.

HOpe you all come back soon.

JumpingJellyfish · 28/11/2009 20:44

Hi ladies

Apologies I haven't had a minute to read through the thread but I do indeed have a birth announcement

Blue's gender prediction was right! Ffion Ciara was born on 20th November, by c-section, weighing in at 5lb 9.5oz Amazingly she went straight onto the breast once in recovery room (for an hour!) and managed to avoid special care altogether- my first out of 3 babes!

We came home on Thurs eve- my blood pressure kept us in for quite a while as continued to be really too high in spite of lots of meds, but, touch wood, is now just about normal (though I'm rattling with all the pills!).

Ffion is an absolute joy, feeding well after a tough first couple of days, not getting much sleep but just so pleased to have her safely with us. DS & DD1 are being great with her too, in spite of me having been away for 2 weeks in hospital 1.5hrs away from them.

Right, off to try to sleep as just finished another feed.... Will do my best to catch up with you all soon

Much love to everyone xxx

Bubblebell1 · 29/11/2009 11:20

jumping thats brilliant news.. congratulations to you and your family. soooooo pleased for you xxxx

irish glad you got your positve. i still havnt got mine.. wonder if my eggs are striking again. i did have the flu jab and the swine flu jab last week so maybe it could of delayed it?? i have still checked cervix position and CM and that points to ovulation but the opk hasnt picked up a surge. i dont know.. will just have to wait and see.

how is everyone else??

CONGRATULATIONS Jumping and welcome to the world Ffion Ciara . So lovely to read about your positive birth experience and your DD2 not having to go to SCBU - just wonderful . Great to hear feeding is going well too.

Irish and Sunny keeping fingers crossed and sending more babydust for festive BFP! Irish - don't worry about killing the thread, its a bit feast to famine to feast

Ah Jumping that's deadly news. Congratulations and well done - welcome to Ffion Ciara too - gorgeous name.
Hope you and she are keeping well and that you are getting enough sleep.
(P.S. postscript for non - Irish people deadly is in fact a good thing here in Ireland - when I worked in the UK people couldn't figure out what I meant )

Bubble hope it's only your various jabs that have caused you to not get your positive. Good luck with it.

Blue hope you do get your earlier EDD - imagine being home for Christms with your little bean!

DH and I have just put together two dog kennels. We also cleaned out the room my sister slept in when she lived with us.

Anyway have to go and do some ironing for the week - congrats again Jumping - Issys girls are growing in membership.

SuziBhoy · 30/11/2009 17:21

congrats jumping.... thats brilliant, and shes a scorpio, same birthday as me!! hope you are both well and keep in touch x

HeadFairy · 01/12/2009 20:32

Hello ladeeees.... sorry about going awol again, dh keeps hogging the computer at home so I have to wait until I'm at work. Don't worry, I've requested a netbook for Christmas!

Congratulations jumping on the birth of Ffion!!! Lovely name, I hope you're all doing well and are both happy and loved up baby-wise How exciting to have our first baby!

Bubble I hope you get your +opk so you can start bding soon, Christmas is always a good time to conceive (ds was conceived at Christmas ) All that booze....

Irish great to hear about your bd-fest... don't worry about sharing tmi... I've done tons of that, and you'll be getting the whole gory story when dd finally arrives too!

Blue glad to hear you've been allowed to go on a bit longer with your pregnancy... am I reading it right, they'll let you go to term, and if no baby by then they'll do a section?

wasabi I hope the decorating's going well and you're managing to rest up occasionally. We've pretty much done all we're going to do, still waiting for some furniture. For some Godforsaken reason, dh arranged for a wardrobe to be delivered at 6am this morning, hopefully everything else is coming at a civilised time. We've finally succumed on the painting front and are getting a painter and decorator in to do our spare room, I really can't face it, and dh is so frustrated at his apparent lack of diy skill!

suzi great to hear you had a good 8 week scan, although you're more like 9-10 weeks now!!! It feels soooo good passing each milestone!

sunny I hope you're feeling a little less foggy and the docs have sorted out your thyroxine. How lovely for you to already be feeling your baby... it took me aaages this time, nearly 22 weeks!

Issy I hope your bp is behaving itself and things are ok with you. I've had terrible heartburn too, you must tell me if you discover a fab remedy that doesn't involve nasty chalky minty crappy sweety things (can you tell I'm fed up of Rennies? )

Anyone heard from Rip? She must be due very soon!

Well my bruises are fading, but I'm still in quite a lot of pain. Getting up and sitting down is still hard, I look like an old crone gingerly lowering myself down! I think I've got a few more weeks of pain to go through, considering in over two weeks I don't think it's eased much at all.

I saw my consultant yesterday to discuss "modes of delivery" (supppose DHL is out of the question??) Anyway, she was trying to gently persuade me to go for the vbac, and I do see her point.... but I also still think I have lots of valid points, so we've agreed to a compromise... if I go in to labour spontaneously then I'll try the vbac option, however as I was dead set against an induction, I'm booked in for a cs on 31st December, so someway or other, dd will be born in 2009!

So it just finally occurred to me I really ought to get a hospital bag packed, or at least get a few things ready to put in one... I don't have anything sensible like maternity pads or stuff like that. I do however have a large box of chocolate biscuits I got on BOGOF in Waitrose which I'm planning to smuggle away from dh and slip in to my bag!!! Well, you've gotta get the essentials right haven't you??

Hope everyone's fine and dandy, I'm demob happy because I've only got 5 more shifts at work. TTFN xxx

irishmumwannabe · 02/12/2009 17:23

Head so of your five shifts left - how happy would I be if I were in yourshoes.

No news here - have been checking my CP and CM all week - TMI (high and creamy if anyone is interested) I am 3-5 DPO (5 if you count from teh day of my positive OPK) so will see how it goes. Did feel slight nauseous this morning but it's far too early for anything like that to be happening. CD22on Saturday.

have my Christmas party this weekend, next weekend I am in the UK (Burton, Notts and Rugby) visiting friends and ILs and then the weekend after it's DH Christmas party, and my college friend's KK party so lots to keep me occupied. Only issue will be the lack ofdrinkingI'll be diong if I am pg - not sure what to do Friday maybe have one or two.

Bathroom came - it's currently in boxes in my kitchen while we try adn organise a plumber and tiler to coincide with each other - fun fun fun.
Anywho - talk to you all soon

Putting up my christmas decorations this weekend cos otherwise won't have time until Christmas itself.

bluesatinsash · 04/12/2009 16:43

Irish - keeping fingers crossed for festive BFP! enjoy your new bathroom where you will hopefully be throwing up in over the next few weeks

Head - so glad to hear you're finishing up soon AND getting a laptop for xmas so you can post more!! So your DD will be here this year - yay! Glad they've agreed to not induce you and you have a CS booked if VBAC doesn't happen.. I met with my consultant on Wed. and I'm basically back to being treated as 'standard' pregnant woman as baby's heartrate still sounding fine. They are letting me go to 41 weeks+, very hopeful of me having VBAC etc. They will induce me but only by breaking waters not any artificial hormones or the like. So bsically my wish is waters break @ 14th Dec, succefful VBAC @ 15th/16th and us all home with days to spare before xmas . Of course reality will be me being induced on 28th/29th, that failing, ending up with emerg CS etc. etc. But this baby will be out this year too and as long as its healthy that's all that matters..

How is everyone else???!!!

HeadFairy · 04/12/2009 17:46

Blue I'm glad I'm not the only one who's completely pessimistic! I've got an image of a failed vbac starting on Christmas day and ending up on the 28th or 29th with me having a crash section under GA and then spending the rest of the week in hospital, and going home bruised and battered Nothing wrong with expecting the worst and getting pleasantly surprised!

irishmumwannabe · 05/12/2009 19:30

Blue very much hope so.

Had my work christmas party last night - it was brilliant - and I had a few drinks as I just have a feeling since Thursday that I'm not pg

God knows this month will be the one I didn't go mad just had 3 or 4 drinks so it shouldn't be too bad if I am.

feeling tired now - only go to bed at 4 and woken up by the housekeeping staff by 9. It wasn't goo dI tell you.

Hope everyone else is ok and you get back soon.

Bubblebell1 · 06/12/2009 10:00

Hey girls.. how are you?

been busy here and i have been lurking but everytime i sit down to post DS2 pulls the tree over!

irish hope you enjoyed your party... dont worry too much about a few drinks.. im sure it wont do any harm.. fingers crossed for a nice BFP

blue & HF cant believe how close it is to your bubbas making an entrance!! fingers crossed your births are everything you hope them to be.

Well... i didnt get a positive opk.. i ran out of tests on day 14 and couldnt be bothered to get anymore. got so much on at the moment i havnt really been thinking about it. im sure after a few months of BFNs and AF goin AWOL i will be back to my normal TTC obsessed self

Am very pleased to say that I'm enjoying my babymoon with my gorgeous DD!!! We had a CS on 24th Nov.

Congrats rip and jumping. Am on mobile and can't see anymore news. In hosp. Baby Eira Arwen arrived early on Sat 28th at 3:30pm, weighing 3lb9oz. Spontaneous labour . Waters broke 6.30am, started pushing at 3:10pm and she was out by half past. I think she's the most beautiful girl in the world, but then I'm biased . She's still in scbu, but doing well. If gained weight 2mrw we can move to ward together. Will be here for a while yet - really missing my internet, but she's keeping me very busy. Take care everyone and good luck those waiting for Christmas arrivals and BFPs. Is x.

irishmumwannabe · 07/12/2009 14:13

Issy congratulations on the arrival of baby Eira Arwen (love that name it's fabulous)

Hope that everything goes really well for you both and there is loads of weight gain soon, Take care and fingers crossed that all goes really well for you.

Absolutely delighted for you - gosh this thread is really moving with all the news -

I'll have some either way for you all by Friday. CD 24 here of a 26 - 29 day cycle) so if nothing by Friday morning I am going to test. Not much in the way of symptoms though - slight nausea when I get up until I eat something (usually about a 2 - 3 hour delay cos I'm rushing to get the train to work) and today have lower back pain but that's probably a sign of AF.

Again Issy that's brilliant news - we may put a list together - here we go
