bluesatinsash · 07/12/2009 15:41

oh my God!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Issy! and welcome to the world baby Eira Arwen . So glad you're both OK and she's doing well .

What an utterly beautiful name and its girl-tastic on our thread - yay!

wasabipeanut · 07/12/2009 16:02

Wow what fabulous news to catch up with!

Jumping Congratulations on the birth of Ffion Ciara. It's a beautiful name and I'm so happy that you have managed to avoid the SCBU this time round. I hope you're enjoying your babymoon!

Issy A huge congratulation on the birth of Eira Arwen. It's a lovely name - lots of Welsh names all round so far! I hope that she gains weight nice and quickly and that you can both home soon. It's a good job you were so organised and had all your kit ready and waiting!

Rip Congratulations to you too! [grin}

Irish Well I hope it is your month - I'm sure a few bevvies at the Xmas party won't have done too much harm. Looking forward to the Friday update. There is something rather inconvenient about being preggers at Xmas which I hope means that you are IYSWIM. I'm sure your place is a veritable Xmas paradise. We aren't going there yet as it's just another job on a very long list! Maybe this weekend will be when we start to review the situation.

Head Can totally relate to your feelings of frustration about being physically compromised. Hiring decorators sounds like a very good idea right now! I laughed at your DHL comment. I do understand why you don't have high hopes for a VBAC - I share your concerns. I don't get why consultants try and persuade you to have a VBAC and then tell you if you do you have to be hooked up to CFM, drip etc. However it turns out for you I hope you get the birth you want. And for what it's worth I think the choc biscuits are a worthwhile inclusion in the hospital bag!

Blue How are you getting on? You must be getting very close to popping! I am so

I have been a bit fed up lately. I'm very big now - must have had a hell of a growth spurt and I am carrying so high that my lungs feel like they are being crushed whenever I walk anywhere or do anything. I've been a bit stressed preparing for in laws to come and visit this weekened but at least that is over with now. To be fair they helped us with lots of decorating stuff but I still had to cook etc. and get their room looking decent so it kind of upped my work level quite drastically.

I'm crazily hormonal - snivelling left right and centre and still only 32 weeks! It's gonna be a long 2 months.........

Bubblebell1 · 07/12/2009 17:32

WOW CONGRATULATIONS issy and rip.. im sooooooooooo pleased.. it really has made my day

i have some news too. altho not as nice as issy and rips... i have had a few abnormal smears and i had a colposcopy last month where they took a biopsy. It shows i have carcinoma in situ which basically means i have to have a loop diathermy and cant bd for a while afterwards.

got the results today and they have booked me in next week for the procedure.. dont really know what to do if i do get a BFP this week.. seems that it would just be my luck!!

fingers crossed they can remove all the bad stuff and i can get on with making DC3 asap

OP posts:
irishmumwannabe · 07/12/2009 19:52

Oh Bubble I am so sorry - hope they get the bad stuff out for you. I had a msear test about 5 weeks ago and no results yet. Hoping to get them this week.

Waasabi I really hopw youmanage to get through the next 2 months as quickly and easily as possible.

So - I have a confession to make.... My name is irishmumwannabe and I am a POAS-aholic. So today I bought a set of 2 CB Digitals and then decided that tonight I was going to POAS.

Well, as you can imagine I was completely shocked to see BFP and 1-2 weeks on the display.

I am being very cautious though because it is only CD24 and I have been here before. If I get to 6 weeks I might be more excited - now i'm just cautiously excited.

So that's my news - DH has said he'll unwrap the bubble now and drip feed me nutrients for the next 9 months

So talk to you soon

bluesatinsash · 07/12/2009 20:13

oh my oh my!!

Bubble - so sorry to hear your news but you sound very positive and I hope it all works out. What would happen if you did get a BFP?

Talking of which Irish - you mad pregnant woman you!!! A +hpt is a + hpt. Congratulations missy . Now deep breath's and wrap yourself in cotton wool for next 8 weeks xx

Hi Wasabi - can relate to the uncomfyness, mood swings, the whole nine yards... DH and me are having to draw up plan a, b and c for when DC2 decides to make an appearance, its exciting but getting me down as I so do not want to miss DS's xmas morning etc. Also feel like I've been pg forever as was prepped to deliver on 28th Oct and here I am six weeks later, which of course is better but it has just stretched time out and can be hard going...

Issy and Rip still for you both and bope your delirious in your babymoon x

Bubblebell1 · 08/12/2009 08:30

Wow irish thats fantastic news im soooo pleased for ya...

blue they cant perform the diathermy if im pg. If i was pg then they would do another biopsy further into the pregnancy and then i could have treatment after the birth. I dont know if i would want to leave it that long without treatment. just want to make sure im here for the 2 boys ive already got.
In reality im petrified, sooo scared and trying my hardest to be brave.

xxx

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 08/12/2009 15:39

Oh Bubble - I can't imagine how scared you must feel even though you are trying to be positive. Have you thought of starting a thread on here to get positive stories from other woman who have had the same procedure? Cervical cancer is very treatable and the treatment very successful.

Hope yuo have lots of support around you xx

Bubblebell1 · 08/12/2009 17:38

thanks blue i will go have a look and see if i can find anything.

OP posts:
HeadFairy · 08/12/2009 18:40

Oh my word, what a roller coaster ride this thread is!

Bubble I'm so sorry you've had such scary news.. I hope you're able to get your treatment soon, because like you, I'd be terrified about leaving ds and dh without me. I'm praying for your perfect scenario... diathermy completed successfully, no further treatment required swiftly followed by a bfp!

Irish Congratulations, that's amazing news!!!! I hope your pregnancy bubble is comfy

Rip congratulations on the arrival of your dd. I hope life with her is rosy!

Issy wow! What a surprise! congratulations on the birth of little Eira! I hope you're both well and she gets out of SCBU as soon as possible. Just as well you were so organised, I'd be soooo screwed if dd arrived now!!!

I have a feeling wishing might be making a birth announcement soon, she was 40+9 a few days ago and desperately bouncing on her birth ball to get things going... wishing, I hope things have gone well and you have your new baby too!

Wasabi I feel your pain... dd keeps moving around like crazy, one day she's really high and I can't breath and have terrible heart burn, and the next she's really low and I can barely walk and have to pee every 5 mins. I'm whingeing spectacularly as well

I'm on my penultimate shift at work which is fab, I've had the commute from hell the past two days, 2 and half hours both mornings, I've been arriving for work over an hour late and had to work through my lunch break to catch up. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to tomorrow! I've got a late start so no traffic (hopefully!) and it's my last day!!!! Oh happy days!

I hope everyone else is well, high fives all round

xxxxxxxxx

Sunnydale · 08/12/2009 21:28

Good Giddy God Almighty - I nick off for a few days and the whole world changes. I am dizzy with all the news! {grin}

Where to begin? It's not often a BFP gets trumped on this thread, but I think the three births of real, live babies might just have done it!

Huge congratulations, Irish, on your delightful BFP. I'm so made up for you, I really am. Be positive, although I know it's hard after a mc. We're all rooting for you here.

Gigantic congratulations to Jumping, Rip and Issy on the safe arrival of your dearest DDs. I can't believe it. I can't believe some actual babies have actually been born! I know that sounds daft, but the journey has been so long, and sometimes hard, and it's just so moving to read about such happy endings. Wishing all of you the happiest of times with your girls

Dearest Bubble, I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. I can't pretend to know anything about it, but my thoughts are with you that everything will be fine. Am sending all my love and much hand-holding, all of which sounds quite trite now that I'm typing it.

Good luck to Blue and Head for the final furlong. V interested to read your plans about a VBAC, as I think I'll be facing the same dilemma somewhere down the line (God willing). But not thinking about that yet. Got my 20 week scan on Friday (ha ha - laughing at how far behind I am compared to you all) and bricking it, but que sera sera and all that. Sort of used to bricking it by now. It's a perpetual state of worry, isn't it.

Hello to Wishing and hoping you have some lovely news to share soon.

Much love to all on this thread, whatever you are going through, good or bad xxxxxx

JumpingJellyfish · 08/12/2009 22:52

Just popping on and wow so much news-

Bubble so sorry to hear about your news, really hope you are feeling ok and if possible they can do the diathermy asap- huge hugs xxx

Issy wow! Congrats on the birth of your DD! What gestation was she? Beautiful name too. Really hope you are coping with the SCBU rollercoaster, establishing feeding etc. ok- if you need to vent do let me know as have been there and done that twice. Really hope your DD is on the ward with you soon. Are you managing to express?

Rip huge congrats on your DD's birth too! Wonderful news.

Irish so so pleased you have got your xmas BFP! Keeping everything crossed for a very sticky bean. Now take it easy you!

Head, sunny, blue, wasabi- hope you are all coping with pregnancy in the mad run up to xmas ok, thinking of you all lots.

Right, Ffion is wanting her 4th feed in as many hours ...she's getting into cluster feeding in eves but slept an amazing 4.5hrs last night after 1am, and weighed in at 6lb 5oz last Fri so she's doing great. Sadly DH has just been made redundant though, and I'm only on maternity allowance, so we're a bit Hoping more work comes along soon.

Sleep tight all xxxx

bubble you poor poor poor thing. it's very hard to be brave in the face of such news but i have a few friends who've had the op and they're all totally fine now. hope time speeds up for you so that you are all clear and holding your bfp and sighing with relief that it's all behind you.

issy What dramatic but exciting news! were you 34 weeks? so weird to think that i could have a live babe in my arms now! love the name too - very ethereal and beautiful. Hope you get home before too long.

rip and jelly big congrats to you too! it's all so exciting!

And not forgetting irish A big woop!! woop!! for you too. Each new BFP has a much much bigger chance of being a goer than not being a goer, hard as that is to remember. I became addicted to scans as my way to get through the 12 week wait. Got one early one on the house and paid for two . sending you many sticky vibes. Remember you are totally entitled to do c*ck all until you get the all clear. let yourself be nurtured xx

sunny your 20 weeks scan will be fine i'm sure. I bet time will serious speed up once you're passed that.

I have no exciting news. Am sharing wasabi's struggle with this end bit (am just over 35 weeks now). Hormones have gone like a pinball machine. All over the shop. Rage, tears, highs...am very tired and feel like my brain has been replaced with a big ball of old chewing gum which is not conducive to doing all the work I have to do. Was supposed to be finishing next Friday but I have a feeling I will be working right up to christmas. bleurgh.

Other news is that this baby is a bit stoopid. It decided to turn down towards the exit last week which was brill. But yesterday, turned back up again. DOH. Maybe it just knows that mummy has a whole lot to do before it can be born. i know that it will do what it wants anyway so am not worrying about it. I do want some time to myself though to sort out cupboards and sort out the room and do yoga moves and cooking and cafeing while i still can.

blue thanks for your kind and wise words re parenting a behbeh. I think i need to lower m expectations. i just want to get it all right immediately but of course there must be a bit of trial and error and babies can cry a lot and it's ok it's not cos you're a crap mum etc.
sigh.
ok well gossip girl is over so will shift my heavy load bedwards.
Oh and head soooooooooo that you have finished work.
It is a bit nerve wracking not knowing if it's going to come out the sun roof or the door but i keep trying to think to myself - just as long as the baby is ok etc but secretly really i'm really thinking it will probably be an induction with 48 hours of contractions at the end of which i'm only 2 cms dilated. i will then find myself with a consultant with one foot up on the bed, the other on the floor and a plunger on my lady parts yanking enough to give my baby a cone head but not enough to get it out which will then mean 29 students rushing in to witness a very emergency c section. ahhhhhhh well. que sera sera non?

ooo one last thing is does anyone find that they are doing lots of bottom burps (that was from purple ronnie, remember HIM?!!) I am doing really huge ones. specially at night! tres unlady like but unavoidable...don't think it's the iron either. noiiiiiccceee.
soz for that beautiful parting shot

bluesatinsash · 11/12/2009 13:32

Hi guys

bubble - hope the other thread has reassured you and fingers crossed for next week x

Vanilla - yes massive pumping in our house a few weeks ago must be a 35 week thingy. My bottom has settled down of late so I'm no longer scaring the pigeons . Like your attitude to birth, expect the worst and you'll be pleasently surprised .

Jumping - so lovely to read Ffion is eating well and a good weight. not so good about your DH , at this time of year too... Is there anything out there for him?

Sunny - been thinking about you today and hope your scan went OK. The big question is did you find the flavour??!! I'm thinking a boy pour vous?

Head - have you finished up yet? Really hope you're managing to rest before it all kicks off.

wasabi - how are things with you?

Issy - and you? Is Eira out of SCBU yet? Dying to see some photos xx

Irish and Suzi - how's the sickness/nausea/whole early pg roller coaster?

I'm having a lovely relaxing day at home whilst DS is at nursery. Its his nativity this afternoon and he is 12th Shepherd from the left kitted out in his tea towel . We're getting the tree tomorrow and generally welcoming Christmas into the blue household .

DS and me keep shouting "come out baby" to my tummy but he/she's not for budging. Midwfie did say head is at brim of pelvis and not free anymore so headed ()in the right direction.

BTW, where are the Christmas smileys??!

wasabipeanut · 11/12/2009 21:16

Goodness me, a rollercoaster of a thread is about the right description.

Bubble You poor love I am really feeling for you. It must be so frightening to be given this news. I have read your other thread and am glad that you?re feeling reassured by all the positive stories on there. A friend of mine was given the same diagnosis around 7 years ago, had the treatment which admittedly wasn?t a whole lot of fun but has had clear results since as well as a rather lovely 18 mo DS. The NHS has its faults but when it comes to this sort of treatment they don?t hang around. Try to stay positive. Wishing you lots of luck and love for next week x

Irish Yay for a Christmas BFP! What was I saying about being pg at Christmas? Tee hee. I think you should now spend the festive season lying on the sofa to conserve energy mainlining Quality Streets.

Blue Having had that scary false alarm in late October I can understand how time may be dragging for you now. I can also relate to wanting to see every minute of your DS?s Christmas day. His nativity must have been such a treat. I know that when my DS is old enough for that (next year I would have thought) I will be snivelling throughout at my tea towel bedecked baby.

Head Have you finished work now? I hope you are relaxing somewhere right now.

Sunny Have you got an update following your scan? Did you find out flavour?

Jumping Obviously thrilled to hear that Ffion is doing so well but so sorry to hear about your DH. This economic climate is an utter beatch. Having said that it does seem to be perking up a bit employment wise ? a friend of mine who lost her job in April started a new one this week and I?ve had approaches from head hunters a lot more recently in common with quite a few people I know. Fingers crossed for your DH to find something soon.

Vanillaslice Glad to see I?m not the only one going a little bit nutty. I think you are spot on with your statement that the baby will do whatever the hell it likes so there is no point in fretting. Take some comfort from the fact that even if it decides to stay firmly feet down and you end up with a planned c section, a planned section is a wholly different experience from an emergency one. It?s much more positive and relaxed and they will let you see more of what is happening if that is what you want. Speaking as someone who experienced your nightmare birth scenario the 1st time round (ok they didn?t try an instrumental delivery but we cut straight to the section after a failed induction and labour of around 18 hours) I can say that now it doesn?t matter a whole lot. My DS was fine and I was fine although I did spend a lot of time afterwards pointlessly beating myself up about a set of circs that were utterly outside of my control. I?m not planning on making that mistake this time round and whilst I am hopeful for a VBAC I will still be prepping for a section by ensuring my scar is Immac'd (trust me the midwife with a Bic razor option is best avoided) and that I have a stock of peppermint tea for the post op wind.

Whilst on this subject, the bottom burps are good prep for the general surrender of dignity. I too am experiencing some humdingers. It?s great entertainment for DS. Whenever I fart he bellows ?Fartypants? and ?pardon me? before collapsing into a fit of giggles.

Who needs expensive toys for Christmas????

Sunnydale · 14/12/2009 21:45

I'll go with Blue and say Boy - she's usually right!

bluesatinsash · 15/12/2009 14:49

Yay! Sunny and yes I'm definately getting a boy vibe from you

Irish - how you bearing up?

bluesatinsash · 15/12/2009 14:50

Where were my santa hats ?!!!

irishmumwannabe · 15/12/2009 16:56

Bit sad today - I told my sis last night - her first question was How far along are you and her second was why are you telling me so early?

I was a bit shocked at that - I wasn't expecting that. She did say congratulations but only after BIL had said it to me abotu 3 times.

I suppose she was asking that cos of the mc last time but what's she going to do - say I told you so if I have another?

I went home to DH and cried about it so the hormones are definitely kicking in.

On CD 32 today - once I go past CD35 I'll be mroe relaxed Got lots of trapped wind yesterday (really hurt I can tell you) and I never get that. Nausea, absolutely exhaustion, (.) (.) killing me - all going well [fgrin}

My CBD did register 2-3 wks yesterday though so that's a good oen - never got past 1-2 last time.

Will catch up with you all later on when I get home -

wasabipeanut · 15/12/2009 21:05

Sunny yay for your scan result! If Blue says it's a boy I daren't argue but I thought to myself when out and about today that I bet it's a girl. I have no idea why!

Irish I'm so sorry your sisters comments upset you. I can see why they would have done. It's good news about your CB digi picking up the rise in hormone though. I think it was around this point that I went to the GP and begged him to arrange blood tests to check of my hormone levels were doing what they should do and actully he was pretty good about it and did what the crazy crying lady asked. It's a good way of surviving without going potty until you can get an early scan. Maybe worth a punt?

Blue and Head are you both ok? Any early labour signs kicking in?

bluesatinsash · 16/12/2009 12:46

Oh Irish - sisters eh? Its probably her way of being protective of you but some tact and concern please!! GREAT that your CB digital has gone to 2-3 weeks and your (.)(.) are sore . Are you getting an early scan?

Sunny - you have us all in suspenders waiting to hear flavour!!

Hi wasabi - how's the house? Is your snug all finished and err, snuggly . I had another meeting with my consultant this morning and all good. She is happy to let me go until at least 30th without sweeping/inducing and is v. v. supportive of me trying for my VBAC. So its tick tock, just waiting now and praying we avoid Xmas Day but then we wanted to avoid 6/6/6 and guess when DS was born?

How is everyone else?

bluesatinsash · 16/12/2009 13:11

Just posted on baby names again, this time asking for opinion on girl choice (narrowed it down to three).

If you're at a loose end .....

Sunnydale · 18/12/2009 22:32

Hello all
God, I'm so sorry - I didn't mean to keep you in suspense this long, but thanks to having the brain of a goldfish at the moment, I completely forgot to post back again. Am very about that.

Anyway, it's a PINK ONE. Another pink one for me! DD is over the moon, as she's been asking me for a baby sister for years now. Heh heh, at least I won't need to buy any new baby clothes! Am so looking forward to revisiting all of DD's old ones again.

Irish, so sorry about your sister's comments. Does she have kids? Could she be a bit jealous? Take it as a good sign that she upset you... I mean in the sense that at least it means your hormones are kicking in. Not that anyone wouldn't have been upset, mind. How are you apart from that? All things crossed for you.

Blue, will try to track down your name thread as could certainly do with some inspiration!

Hello to everyone else, but I'd better go as am trying to type quietly and getting dirty looks from DH who is trying to watch some mental thing on BBC4 about the Rites of Spring. Lots of love to all, esp those about to pop soon xxx

irishmumwannabe · 20/12/2009 18:03

Hi everyone, God I was in a snit last time wasn't I? Sorry about that - goten over it now. Sunny she has 2 DC and is adamant she doesn't want more- her DH has had the snip that's how much she doesn't. I'm grand though just need to get a thicker skin.

Sunny a girl is lovely - so glad for you - seems like we have a tradition building on this thread Issy's girls is right.

Hello to all you ladies that are due or nearly due - hope things are going well and maybe you are in hospital which is why we have had no news on the thread?

Bubble how are things with you? Have you any more news /updates? Thinking of you and hoping all goes well.

Hello to to the new mums that we know about - hope the LOs are behaving nicely and that you get a chance to pop on here soon.

Finished work for Christmas now - having a restful week this week doing as little as possible. DH is being fab and not letting me do anything. Today is CD36 - we've passed D-Day so every week from now on will be another milestone.

I'm going to my GP tomorrow or Tuesday to see what my potions are - might have to pay for my early scan if I can get one. Can't wait to just get it confimed and get on the road to the second trimester.

Right - am going to head off now - we're gettng the cats "fixed" tomorrow so have to keep them away from the food tonight. Have loads of cleaning and clearing up to do tomorrow.

There's a show on at the moment "I didn't know I was pregnant" Is it wrong to be of a woman who doesn't get symptoms?
