Hi All,
Ok if I join? I just had a mc 3 weeks ago. ttc #2 at 43. Still holding out hope and your threads have been keeping me going since mc. Now its the big wait for AF and the hope that i can get another bfp.

Trimummy · 07/05/2009 18:19

Thanks gonepearshaped, you're right, I think i just need to let my body heal - but I wish it would hurry up ! Best of luck for you - sounds promising. xx

latestarter2009 · 07/05/2009 19:32

hi everyone...i've been bit of a lapsed (sometimes lurking) poster the last couple of weeks.

i started a new job this week and have had all the various blood tests over the last few weeks, but i come with good news ...yes a couple of days ago i peed on a stick (three actually) and yes I'm pregnant! Still a bit all over the place especially as I found out about 8pm before starting new job, but am hoping it will all go well. i had a blood test today and will go again on monday as i just want the comfort of good hcg levels after the miscarriage.

rowing i am well impressed with your 10 fertilised eggs - have you had any implanted yet? i saw something you had written before my positive and you had inspired me to give ivf a try

glad to hear the acupuncture is going well beam, i was also going to ask you who you went to

hi to vonsud, fifi, spiral, gps, fruit and anyone else i've missed.....and hello and good luck to all the newbies - there are so many!

nanbred where are you - i hope you're ok....i keep thinking of you

fifitot · 07/05/2009 19:58

OOh well done you! Lots of sticky baby dust too.

Remind me what you did recently to prompt this turn of events - anything new or different?

Also - how old are you again? Hope you don't mind me asking but it may give me hope!

rainbowdays · 08/05/2009 08:27

Latestarter - congrats on your BFP, and on your new job, great news. When is your due date?

KiwiKat · 08/05/2009 14:32

Well, AF was two days late, and I really thought this was it - I was walking around with a secret smile, feeling full of love and hope and happiness. The irony, I thought, of having purchased the fertility indicator device thingy, and being about to start taking clomid, and here I am falling pregnant naturally. But this isn't it, AF arrived today and I've crashed like a stone. I know this isn't anywhere near as bad as a m/c, and also that everyone else is probably feeling miserable when they hit cd1 - but I just want to CRY .

Self-indulgent wailing emoticon.

KiwiKat · 08/05/2009 14:34

Congratulations, latestarter - we need a bit of hope to cheer us up!

gonepearshaped · 08/05/2009 15:20

Whooo Latestarter well done you, that's lovely news, do tell, what did you do? Well, apart from the obvious that is

Ahh, KiwiKat, know the feeling, the witch got me this morning too, I don't feel too bad but sometimes its just so horribly disappointing, here have a big box of virtual chocolates and a virtual hug to go with them, hope someone in RL is there to supply the real thing.

RunJazz welcome, so sorry about your mc, take good care of yourself for now - theres always lots of sympathetic people floating about here

fifitot · 08/05/2009 17:45

Hello all. Looking forward to weekend? I am on CD 31 which is not particularly unusual for me - last one was 33 days. Feeling v tired but feel like AF due any minute (felt like this for a couple of days).

Trying to forget and not to hope for it and dwondering whether to test or not. Hmmmmmmm

Sorry Kiwi btw. It's rubbish isn't it.

fifitot · 08/05/2009 18:05

oah - did a test as had a FR in and thought what the hell. BFN. At least I am not in suspense anymore. Sigh.

fifitot · 08/05/2009 18:18

I have forgotten how to spell! oah????

WTF is happening to my AF? Used to 28 days dead on and now drags on into 32, 33. Pain in the @rse. If I could temp would know better but sleep is too erratic.

FR can't be wrong can it with AF due in 1-2 days? Feel bloody awful and so tired.

runjazz · 08/05/2009 19:15

Thank you, Gonepearshaped. I so appreciate the support and the welcome. So sorry for all who are feeling low on account of AF. The disappointment! Hugs to you all. Fifitot, if you are cycling 33 days and this is 28, it could be too early. I tested with my last (the one I lost at 12 wks) about 3 days early and almost threw the stick out before i thought "is that a line??" very, very faint bfp. Don't lose heart, love.

fifitot · 08/05/2009 20:23

Thanks runjazz. However it's a FR so would expect something by now. When pg last 2 times got faint pos at 1 day late so not expecting anything really. Defo no line on the test though today.

AF now doesn't seem like it's coming so dunno what's happening. probably menopause!

vonsudenfed · 08/05/2009 21:54

Latestarter - that's fab news! Hurrah. Hope all the blood tests are as encouraging as poss (and very glad to hear that your gp/clinic are being so supportive, that must make all the difference).

Kiwi and GPS, sorry about AF. Kiwi - I did just that last time round, was all inwardly smirking and then it just went and happened anyway. Gah.

Fifi, sorry about the BFN. But you're not even one day late yet, if last AF was 33 days? Not that I want to pass on to you my own ability to be the Queen of False Hopes!

And hello trimummy and runjazz. Runjazz, I'm in just the same boat as you - ttc no 2 and 43, had a miscarriage in August...

runjazz · 08/05/2009 22:11

Thank you, Vonsudenfed, I am in very good company, then. I am still waiting for AF since mmc was only 3 weeks ago and bleeding just stopped a week ago. Took about 6 mos to get preg last time. Hoping it will happen sooner this time - ticking clock and all - ugh!!. DD is 11 - seemed so simple the first time around! Fifitot, I still want to believe for you...mine was also a FR.

fifitot · 09/05/2009 07:54

Ugh AF is here. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

rowingboat · 09/05/2009 10:04

Hi everyone, sorry for the big gap in communication.
Welcome to the new people, it's very nice on here.
LS that is fantastic news, typical when you have just started a new job isn't it.
That must be the key to becoming pg: do lots of inconvenient/inappropriate things. You could start smoking/drinking/eating blue cheese and brie at every meal/buy a year's membership at a gym/replace your entire wardrobe with lycra garments.
We got home on Thursday at midnight and I'm back at work (boooo). Still taking progesterone and not much happening other than that, don't feel pg. Mind you, I didn't feel pg with DS either so not the best indication.
We ended up with 10 eggs which all fertilised, very surprised about that. (faints thud!). They developed pretty well and I had three embryos transferred last Monday, when they were five days old. I haven't thought of names for them yet, must ask DS for some ideas.
Two other embryos were good enough to freeze, so we could go back for them if this doesn't work.
This is almost certainly our one and only attempt at IVF because it is too expensive.
We are now off, on the bus, to collect our car from the garage.
Speak soon

Issy42 · 09/05/2009 10:45

RB - Hope you don't mind me popping on here, but saw you'd posted and had to find out how you'd got on. 10 fertilised eggs is brilliant news and for 5 to make it to blast and be good enough to freeze is incredible. So happy for you. Fingers crossed for you in the 2ww.

KiwiKat · 09/05/2009 11:14

Rowing, welcome home, and great news re the embryos. We are all waiting to hear what happens next, fingers crossed and quietly hopeful for you.

Nice to see some new names on here - welcome to you all.

Fifi, GPS, and everyone else who's been visited by the witch - bummer. It's a big fat bummer.

However - today is a new day. CD2, and I've started clomid, and am waiting to turn into a screaming, hairy harridan. Has anyone read the leaflet that comes with these tablets? May develop spots or flashes in front of the eyes, may affect sight! Good God! I'm not going to mention all the other weird stuff it could possibly do to you.

But you've got to do what you've got to do, so ... Chins up, everyone, as we march and bd into a brave new future!

pgsoonplease · 09/05/2009 11:15

Hello everyone,

May I join you? You all seem so nice and chatty - It's a bit like eavesdropping on a girls night out, actually!
I am Shelley, 42 and ttc#2 after m/c and stillbirth at 38wks.
We've been trying for 6 months, done 3 rounds of Clomid and are now booked to see Fertility Clinic on 18th May.
I just hope that 1. it's not too late (age) and 2. they didn't ruin my insides with the hash they made of removing the placenta after the stillbirth last year. At least we'll know a bit more soon.
I look forward to making this journey with you if you'll have me.

KiwiKat · 09/05/2009 12:29

Welcome, Shelley. Sounds like you've had a pretty rough time, but this board is a really friendly and helpful one, so we'll look after you!

pgsoonplease · 10/05/2009 09:11

Thanks KiwiKat,

I think we've all had our ups and downs by this age but yes, it has been a bit rough!

Good news for today, though, is that I just got a + on an OPK this morning. Every + sign helps!!
Have a lovely Sunday.

latestarter2009 · 10/05/2009 13:51

hi everyone - thanks for your messages

fifi/gps - i don't think i've done much different, i had started drinking decaf and switched to filtered water for everything, but i don't know if it was long enough to have made a difference. i did think maybe that the zita west preconception vitamins had maybe balanced out my hormones a bit as EWCM increased....also if it isn't TMI the bding was less than the last few months, but really good .....i was also probably more relaxed and i had a feeling that this might be the month......fifi i'm a bit younger than you at almost 41, but i'm still on the wrong side of 40, so do take heart.

the blood tests are looking ok i think vonsudenfed, the first hcg was 524 at 4 weeks lmp which is much higher than the 5 week one i had last time...just waiting for results on second one which will hopefully be over 1000 and then i think i will chill a bit...i should say though that i have gone private for the two blood tests....to difficult/time consuming to get to nhs doctor and thought it was worth the money to give me some piece of mind...am going to the gp this week, so am hoping they will refer me for a 6 week scan

my due date is around 12 jan rainbow.....wouldn't be my pick of a month for a baby, but not really the point is it

my fingers are crossed for you rowing...this could be it for you and it's cool that you still have two embryos.....funny that you mention doing lots of other anti-pregnancy things as i had done pretty much everything else you mentioned in the week proceeding! like flying to paris to seem some friends and drinkng and eating lots of rubbish food including blue cheese....not only that i just bought two suits and stuff for my new job which are already uncomfortable as i am so gassy! and starting a new job is difficult enough, but it has been really hard reconciling everything emotionally with being pregnant as well....luckily DH is being great

welcome pgsoonplease....i can't imagine what it was like to go through what you did, so i hope things work out well for you soon

commiserations on AF fifi and others....god luck for next month........xx

fruitbowl · 10/05/2009 20:04

Hi everyone and a big welcome to all the newbies (handing out big slices of cake - don't worry about the crumbs)

LateS - huge congrats - so happy for you. Hope all goes well & keep us posted.

Kiwi - I nearly freaked when I read the clomid leaflet aswell so I know where you coming from. Take it easy and hope it doesn't make you feel dodgy. Plenty of people have no side effects.

Vonsud - I was prescribed clomid because I was not ovulating every month. I also have a weird shaped half womb (Unicornuate) but don't think the drugs help with that! Are you gonna take the clomid?

Go girl! Rowing! So you have 3 little ones snuggling away in there - awwww! Take care of yourself, sit and eat lovely treats all day and if you have to get up, walk round slowly at all times in comfy slippers (YES I do mean at work too!). Made me laugh with the idea of the all lycra wardrobe - you mean you don't have all lycra in there already? I would look like bloody Michelin Man (another retro reference that only us old birds on here would get!!)

Really, really sorry to all of you who got AF - it can be so destroying can't it? I have been feeling queezy but I'm sure I've had this in previous months and still the witch turned up so expecting to be on the CD1 downer any day Oh sorry I mean I have a job interview on Tuesday which obviously I'll get and then obviously I'll be pregnant like you LS! Positive thinking or grand delusion - you decide. Soz for rambling...

PGsoon welcome and so sorry to hear about your losses. We're here to hold your handies.

x

Sorry to have so many who are down with af arriving. boo hiss.

Rowing - great to hear you got so many eggies fertilized.

Well my big news is that I got .....
BFP

if all goes well (and it is early days yet) my edd is 20-01-2010
I need loads of sticky vibes now. Having had two early m/c's in the last few months, I am a little nervous, but feeling more confident in this one in other ways.
