Ummmm, well not great really girls.
It's either good or bad and i'll only know which in 2 weeks.
I'm either only 5 weeks pregnant, not the 10 that we thought.
Or I'm 10 weeks 'pregnant' and the 'baby' hasn't done anything for 5 weeks.

So - that's it really.

I've done the math and I've pretty much convinced myself that it's unlikey to be good news. Pesamistic yes but there was a reason I wanted this scan so quickly, a niggle that was unlying my happiness.

My last period was 14 Feb. It seems more likey that it's not going to b e the good news. Will only know in 2 weeks time. Can't do anything till the next scan.

Gutted. Scared. Disappointed. Worried.
Not happy anymore that's for sure.Just wanted to tell you, well had to really.

Anyway, that's that.
For now.

So sorry Thomcat - hope everything works out well for you. Why do you have to wait 2 weeks by the way? Sorry to be ignorant but can they not tell the size at the moment? I had a friend also who was 4 or 5 weeks less pregnant than she thought she was and she was baffled but also had very erratic cycle. Her son is nearly 5 now.

unicorn · 25/04/2005 20:59

TC..
really, really sorry you're going through this.

Can you not get yourself down to a hospital EPU? (early pregnancy unit).

I went when I had worries with dd1 (at about 6/7 weeks I think).... they do an internal scan.

Waiting 2 weeks must feel like an eternity.

I will keep everything crossed for you.

milge · 25/04/2005 21:03

fingers crossed you have some good news and get through the next 2 weeks.

hoxtonchick · 25/04/2005 21:04

fingers crossed TC xxx

hub2dee · 25/04/2005 21:04

It is different for blokes, even when the baby is very much wanted. If you cannot bring 'certainty' forward (EPU / blood tests), then I'm sure he's just thought 'bugger, will have to wait to find out what's going on'... he's just being logical and retreating into a cave... (not that cave retreats should be condoned ).

Wishing you strength.

mammya · 25/04/2005 21:05

Oh TC - thinking of you a lot and keeping everything crossed.

mancmum · 25/04/2005 21:24

I am so sorry to hear this but please don't get downhearted.. medicine is not an exact science... 2 weeks seems so long to wait why not ask them to do you a HCG test that will give you an better indication of how far the pregnancy actually is... my sister just went thru something very similar but they scanned her 1 week later and did 3 HCG tests and everything is now fab and totally on course... hope it is the samr for you...

HUGS!

Twiglett · 25/04/2005 21:35

hoping the next 2 weeks go by quickly and that you've got the news you want v v soon

HRHDuchessofPeahead · 25/04/2005 21:47

oh tc, I'm sorry. but I agree with jellycat - if it was a 10wk pregnancy that "stopped" at 5 weeks, I don't think your preg test would have shown up, would it? Anyway fingers really really crossed for you xxx

Gwenick · 25/04/2005 21:53

Oh you poor thing - I agree with the others it does sound like theres's a chance that you may only be 5 weeks pg. HUGS for the next 2 weeks.

I had a missed miscarriage and I was 8 weeks gone when I started bleeding, was given a test at A&E and it was negative, the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks, it took 3 weeks for the hormore levels to come back down. So, hopefully because you tested postive, evrything will be fine...

Blu · 25/04/2005 22:03

Oh Thomcat, mate, this is so unfair. I could weep for you and alongside you here.
Let's just hang on and hold tight, let time stop and life go on, and whatever will be will be, whether it's swooping up high or plummeting down low, you will be you and full of love.

Me, my hunch is that it should be ok - the janH effect.

None of us can do more than hope and hope alongside you, and that we will do.

XXXXXXXX

Potty1 · 25/04/2005 22:08

TC- I am hoping with everyone else here that you are 5 weeks pg. And in a couple of weeks time we will return to the joy- filled threads I've read this weekend. Huge hugs and positive vibes being sent.
