Snap to the moby wrap if you didn't already guess!

HerNameWasLola · 02/06/2009 14:34

Wotcha

Back from the consultant and all is well. (So far as we know!) He's moved my due date forward 4 days to 26th August, so apparently I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow! Which I think puts me exactly 4 weeks behind Bella So if you're 2 weeks late Bella & I'm 2 weeks early, I'll see you there! Don't actually believe the 26th can be right, as I'm pretty sure we didn't do that thing you need to do to make a baby then, plus I think it was before I ov'd But sadly, such is my hero worship of my consultant, if he told me it wasn't due til November I'd probably believe him
Had a good chat with him about induction too, which was my only reservation about changing my due date, but he said if I don't want to be induced (which I desperately don't) then I don't have to be. Fab!
He suggested a final scan at 34 weeks, and I didn't like to disappoint him, so I let him twist my arm
Think I'm measuring 1cm big for dates, so hope LO isn't going to be a complete whopper, but I also think that fundal measuring is a load of old twaddle most of the time, so I suppose I shouldn't be too concerned about that. Saw my mum when we got home, and she's ordered the bugboo from JL to celebrate Am a lucky girl.

Mollie really hoping your appt goes as well tonight

Fruity shall we try to make the meet up lunchtime ish like last time? Not too early for people with a distance to travel (like me ) but early enough to give you time to put your face on before the evening's festivities

Bella really hope you can make it on 20th. I guess if DH's grandmother won't know if you're there or not, the only point you going is if DH wants you there for support. Can you talk to him about it?

Might go and see if I can find DH now to ask him to chase tescos for the insurance claim, if I keep using my mum's laptop for much longer there will need to be a further claim for when I throw it out of the window

HerNameWasLola · 02/06/2009 14:37

X posts Georgie - Vino AND a look at the finishd house?!?!?! I'm there!!! Can we pretend it's still summer too and have some pimms? I'm having very naughty pimms cravings atm! especially on days like this...!

SparklyPseudonym · 02/06/2009 17:43

Ohhh very excited at the prospect of a nose at Georgie's house . Well worth another visit to London.
Lola Great that the appointment went well and lovely change of EDD. There's something so loveable about consultants. Mine is nothing to look at and well past it (lovely Irish accent though) but makes me feel great. Am hoping Mollie likes him too - she'll curse me for recommending him otherwise.
Fruity L would love to see C and I'd love to have a big cwtch of J.

Any news from Piper? Am hoping sickness has left her alone.

teeheelaydee · 02/06/2009 18:13

Hi girls - I'm going to do my usual quick post with a promise of a return later.

Would love to come on the 20th but a bit nervous about travelling with Noah on public transport - any tips ladies? Would get the train to Liverpool Street so somewhere near there would be great. Not sure about tube unless Fruity has some suggestions as to the best way to transport N. Thought I might just bring sling as can't see train letting me have pram up anyway, but on the other hand would love to have somewhere to put when I reach final destination - mind you I suppose there will be plenty of MN aunties to hold him! Serious about advice on best way as REALLY REALLY want to come.

If that goes well then may make it down again in Sept to see Georgie - You know it was Sept last year that we got together - so many changes.

Try and get back later - need to re-read thread anyway as missed NatWest story and details of Bella's funny turn- I am trying my best and thought I was doing so well in keeping up!

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2009 18:36

Teehee, unless you are very confident on escalators with the pram then I would avoid The Underground completely. Stairs are fine as you always get someone offering help but you will always encounter an escalator. I'm very used to the pram on escalators so I'm more than happy to travel to somewhere near Liverpool St. I've no idea what's round there so can't suggest anywhere I'm afraid.

Lola great news for your appointment today and also fabadoos for your Bugaboo!! This happens to be my favourite pram, I adore mine! Mine's an old fashioned Frog which we bought 4 years ago and it's still going strong I've pimped it up a bit now. It used to be all black but now is mostly red. I'd love to find a sand hood for it - been keeping my eyes peeled on Ebay!

Sparkly What the hell is a cwtch? I noticed it on one of the pics of J on FB but thought it was a typo Welsh, I'm assuming?

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2009 18:48

Lola Lola Lola Check this out!

are going to LOVE this! bagabottle.com/mattresscover.php

Am I right? or am I right?

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2009 20:53

Ei You'd BETTER Be there! Won't be the same without you

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2009 20:54

Book it book it book it!

teeheelaydee · 02/06/2009 21:10

Ei Do it Do it Do it

SparklyPseudonym · 02/06/2009 21:24

Ei More do it, do it, do it....
Fruity A CWTCH - how can you not know what it is? Tis a cuddle my love.
Teehee Public transport is a little tricky but people are very helpful. I've always had someone help with my bag, carry front end of pushchair up and down underground stairs. If it's poss I'd def go for just the sling. I'll hold him alllll day.

SmilingEi · 02/06/2009 22:05

well i have checked the train fares and its £50 return for the day which i cant afford but the national express is £19 but a longer journey im not that bothered about the journey length its just the time i would get in to london victoria (i think) would be about 12 ish so it would require a later meet up time so i dont want to put everyone out. i doubt whether we could afford to come down in the car (and that option woud mean DH and DD coming along too which i would rather not, DD prob would be coming too but DH would spend the time huffing and puffing about petrol and money being spent) im not sure what to do and DH is out at the mo so i cant run the idea past him
well see though
xx ei xx

HerNameWasLola · 03/06/2009 07:50

Morning ladies

Mollie

Ei that would be SO fantastic if you can come!!

How about this:
Paddington (Sparkly), Victoria (Ei) & Liverpool St (Teehee) are all on the Circle line.

So, I could go to meet Teehee & Noah at L'pool St to give her a hand to Victoria and we could all meet near Victoria once Ei's bus gets in?
Not the nicest location, but there are quite a few bars etc nearby where we could have lunch, or there's a street with some nice places about 5mins walk from the station (used to walk home that way, lived in Pimlico for a bit)
Any good?

Keep forgetting I'm quite pregnant now, or will be by then anyway, so I may not be as much use lugging buggies up and down steps as I like to think... Still think idea has potential though!

Teehee I have a friend who lives in Ipswich who has 2 small boys and a sister living in london so I think she's done the journey quite a few times, I'll call her later for tips. Would have thought they ought to let you bring the buggy on the train... maybe bring the sling as well then if nec for the tube one of us can carry N and one can take care of the buggy (or we can just give up and get a cab like we did last time )

HerNameWasLola · 03/06/2009 07:52

Fruity I forgot to say oh my goodness!!! I want one!!!! Do you think I should? Do ya do ya do ya??? Maybe I'll wait til my scan at 34 weeks, in case it turns out she's not a pink one at all! Maybe it could be my little final scan present to myself?!?! This is a great advert for your presonal baby shopping btw, I would NEVER have found that! Would be a great present for other people as well... xx

BellaHarry · 03/06/2009 08:28

Wow this is suddenly really busy in here...Love it!

Well I've been discussing the 20th with DH and it seems we also have a 40th B'day party that eve aswell, so DH is warming to the idea of not going to Suffolk...as Lola says, it's really only for support for DH that I'm going so I should leave decision up to him..fingers crossed.

Fruity I too love those pram covers! Let me know if you find any for the Quinny Buzz??

Lola that is exciting, we could be baby buds together! I don't really want to be late thouhg but it is ofcourse highly likey with first baby.

As for me and funny turns; I had another in training yesterday, not half as bad, just overheated, I really shouldn't be at work these days, I have so many other responsibilities over and above classroom teacher, what with being deputy head of year 8 and just am not coping well but I really want maximum time with lo....oh the dilema!

Georgie I would love. love the come to the 'grand opening' at your new improved palace (I've decided that's what it must be after all the building work lol )Bring it on...OMG I'll be a mum by then! aaaggghhhh

Have a good day ladies, enjoy the good weather if you have it xxx

Molliemooma · 03/06/2009 08:31

I'm doing a TeeHee as I'm posting quickly and will return later.

Just to let you know all went well at the scan last night, big sigh of relief from the Mollie household I think we are actually having a baby

Our NT measurement was 0.91mm which I understand is good, will get blood results Monday (if not before) At the moment all feels a bit surreal to be honest. Only problem is I feel hungover this morning (without the drunken fun) so tired, got a headache etc didn't get in til 10.45pm which actually felt like 4.00 am! Anyway back to work will pop on later
x

FruitynNutty · 03/06/2009 09:37

Mollie Fantastic news! Yes you really are going to have a baby!
I remember that hungover feeling

Bella Hope you can come to the meet-up.
Measure up your Buzz carrycot mattress and I'll have a look, it might be the same as the Bugaboo x

Lola Thought you'd like it
Are there escalators between L'pool St and Victoria? Just thinking about Teehee if she's not used to them, especially with a pram. Not having you lugging a pram up/down one in your condition either. Is there a bus between L'pool St and Victoria?

Off to the park this morning and a picnic for the children. Only got one mindee today, a 4 year old who's good friends with Charlie. Once I take them to school at 12.30 that's it! My 1yr old mindee (who I have everyday) has gone on holiday for two weeks
In fact, that's me done until Friday morning when I have 4 yr old again. We've got DP's grandfather's funeral tomorrow - been told not to wear black, feel strange wearing bright colours to a funeral I might be roped into looking after all the kids at his Nan's house while the funeral is on. Not sure what I'd rather do tbh

SparklyPseudonym · 03/06/2009 10:04

Fruity Enjoy the park. I may go with my book - DD is at nursery. Hope all goes well tomorrow.
Lola I've just looked at trains and they run over half hour from Cardiff to Paddington. I think I'll plan to stay overnight in London. Not sure I can manage 5 hours on a train with a 3 year old in one day. Do you know of any child friendly places in that area? Just thinking of C and L - LOs tend not to be able to sit still for very long. I'm not very good at locating my way around the tube but think I'll be fine with circle line (even if I end up going in the wrong direction LOL!).
Ei Would be lovely to see you there.

Well, I'd just finished dinner last night and was CWTCHED up with DP watching House and there was this loud knock on my door. I thought - who the hell is this at 9pm? There were these two strange people with big grins stood at my door....Mollie and her DH. Was over the moon to see them and also to see their scan pics and hear their good news. Am so pleased you've finally got the result you've been waiting so long for. Here's to a smooth six more months.

HerNameWasLola · 03/06/2009 11:51

It's 11.45 and I'm back from work - can't be bad Only downside is I only had a conference today, and we don't get paid for conferences

Mollie's having a baby Mollie's having a baby!!

No idea about child friendly places to eat I'm afraid! Not even sure what really constitutes child friendly tbh! But if you have a look here for a pretty comprehensive list of what's near Victoria or here for what's near Liverpool St.
I remember About Thyme on Wilton Rd nr Victoria, used to be one of my favourites, but am pretty sure it def doesn't count as child friendly, more a place for chilled vino and long ladies' lunches!

Am TOTALLY open to other suggestions btw!

Not sure about escalators, think the circle line is pretty poorly provided for them tbh as it's so old. I know there are escalators at every jubilee line station, but I'm not sure that helps much!

SparklyPseudonym · 03/06/2009 13:38

Pizza Hut?

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 03/06/2009 14:43

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO. Miss Mollie. Grand news my love. Very, very, incredibly pleased for you and DH. Great nuchal measurements as well. .

BellaHarry · 03/06/2009 18:11

no way out; I can't come to the meet

teeheelaydee · 03/06/2009 20:56

Mollie YOU ARE HAVING A BABY - although I promise you even when it makes it's appearance you will still not quite believe it. Sooooo pleased you're scan went well.

Bless you all for the hoops that are being jumped re the meet up. How about this for a suggestion. I bring my chassis and the car seat and sling. If lola could meet me (which would be great) then we could do the tube with Noah in the sling and between us we could carry the car seat and chassis, it is really light and I can carry it in one hand with Noah in the seat for a short space of time, so should be able to manage it if Lola could manage the seat, which is less cumbersome than the pram attachment.

OR - I don't mind walking for a bit - so anywhere within say half an hour walk of Liverpool St would be fine. (or maybe McDonalds at Liverpool St - kid friendly )

OR - I just bring the sling and you all hold but I kind of think Noah would like somewhere a bit more roomy to have a snooze.

Ei It would be great to see you so be extra nice to DH iykwim

Fruity Love love love the bugaboo stuff - you're gifted. Also meant to say days ago that love the M&P stuff for the boys room. M&P is round the corner from me too and I am in there far too much. Hope the funeral is OK. No-one wore black at my Nana's funeral and it was lovely and just what she'd have wanted.

Bella that you're not going to make it but looks like we're going to be back in the big smoke in September.

Look at me - I think I've managed to post 3 days in a row - I definitely think this is getting easier - she says it'll probably get impossible tonight!
