hi ladies
hope all is ok
sory i havent posted for a few days
my PIL paid for me DH and DD to go away for a few days camping with them for a little break which was desperately needed by both of us we had a lovely time getting away from it all and have come home to news that my nan is feeling a bit better (even though they are looking into further health problems relating to a different issue as that is causing her bother now aswell) and my grandad has been transferred to stroke rehab to get him back on his feet again so a step forward i think
AF arrived properly on thursday and has only just finished today but on the upside it wasnt painful(it has been the last few AF's)
and it was normal in comparison aswell i have got my HSG this coming friday- il be CD9 by then, and im not holding out any hope for a normal cycle but well see eh?!!
ive been given a det sheet to do by a friend where you do it for 3 days and can lose up to 10lb in that time so im doing that for the next 3 weeks tue/wed/thur with the hope of losing up to 30lb that might make a diference to my cycle and maybe give me a BFP to show for my good work
hope all is well with evenryone else and i will say hi individually at a more decent hour

xx ei xx

Ooh Ei That's not the Chemical Breakdown diet is it?
Does it involve dry tuna on toast (boak), cottage cheese, beetroot (boak), peanut butter, ice cream, melon, cauliflower (boak) and hot dogs/frankfurters? I can't remember what else, oh yeah, black coffee.
If it is, it makes you feel very weak and extremely irritable. It's great if you want to lose weight for an occasion (I reckon I lost water rather than fat) but the weight all goers back on again when you start eating normally again.
Have you tried the GI diet? It's the only thing that really works for me (and I know Bella does it when not preg). You lose cravings for anything sweet altogether (unless you slip up like I have recently )
The only true GI diet is by this guy You follow a very simple traffic light system and you soon get to know what you can and can't have. I know it's really good for people who are TTC with PCOS - not that you have it but maybe it's generally good for the reproductive system as it's such a healthy balanced diet?

Fab news that your Nan is feeling better, I hope these new problems aren't too awful and that you Grandad is back to normal very soon
I'm so pleased you managed to get away. Do you feel all refreshed now? Ready to go back to the grind?

Aw Teehee I suppose that's one good thing about bottle feeding, DP can hang on to Jack while I MN

Lola Lovely to have you back. When will you be getting a new laptop?
That's a very good idea to find out how wedding planners charge. I'll look into it How are the doggies? Good I hope

Bella Lovely lovely baby shower. Not sure I'll be winning that pot of cash with my prediction of a boy, ha! Charlie had a great time playing footy with the giant ball How are your flower beds?
You nursery is so cuuuute!

Just off now to sort out the kiddywinks, have a lovely day everyone!

SparklyPseudonym · 01/06/2009 08:51

Morning ladies,
Meant to pop in earlier this week but half time is always a nightmare here and we try and cram in as much as possible. DP back to work today and DD back to school tomorrow (she's currently sat watching tv but the peace and quiet is lovely!).
Fruity and Ei Can you remember when we did that diet - was it last year? We tried to encourage each other to stick to it. Was pretty disgusting.
Fruity Bloody cars. I've got a big dent and scratch on the wing of mine where I drove into a gate. Not brave enough to have the job priced up. I'm going to need some 'sleeping through the night' tips. L wasn't a very good sleeper but she makes up for it now.
Ei As I said yday - good that you're grandparents are making progress. Lots of luck for Friday.
Teehee [waves] Don't forget to post some lovely new pics of N when you get the chance.
Kate My laptop is vista and I hate it. It takes loads of getting used to. Hope the insurance claim doesn't take too long.
Bella Did you have a good baby shower?
Scully Amazing that the hospital provide those facilities. Are you sure you weren't visiting a hotel instead?
HTGG Any top tips for hospital bag? I couldn't have lived without my own toilet paper (lol) and witchhazel last time.
Mollie You've been quiet lovely. Am sending you all the luck in the world for tomorrow. I might just pitch my tent up outside the hospital .

I've updated the list but don't know if it's right. Weeks seem to be ticking by but all well here so far. Baby is moving and next scan is in just over two weeks if I can wait that long.

Hope I've corrected the Infanticipating weeks, we had all seemed to gain 2wks
Your camping break sounds like just what you needed Ei. Hopefully your nan and grandad will continue to improve
How was your baby shower Bella?
Welcome back Lola
I had a m/w check today, all good which is always a relief. See a consultant next week, no need to other than I need a letter saying I'm ok to work within 6wks of my due date, and the m/w was more comfortable with a doctor writing it I don't mind though, always happy to hear the heartbeat and have it confirmed that baby is still head down
Had a nice weekend, friends over for a bbq on Saturday night and met other friends for lunch on Sunday. Went to the equivalent of a nearly new sale on Sunday morning, and bought a bouncer for $20, a few more newborn babygros for $1 each, and a breastfeeding pillow with removal cover so I can wash it, for $8
Apart from cot and moses basket mattresses, have just about everything else now. Haven't packed a bag yet but have a list and almost have everything on it.
dh and my hormones got the better of me again on Sunday, I have been snappy with dd1 for a lot of the pregnancy and being 7 she is full of nonsense a lot of the time. But I snapped at her when we were getting out of the car about something and dh got the sh*ts about it and told me I don't know how to talk to my children anymore blah blah. Really not a nice thing to say to someone who is 34wks pregnant with dc3 and who has struggled through the whole pregnancy with an inability to deal with emotional issues. He apologised later, but I was extremely upset for a long time about it.
Karma came back to bite him today though as he woke up this morning with a flu/tummy bug, and has been very ill all day. Hoping he isn't sick for long, and that the rest of us don't catch it. Bloody men

Scully well done for being so organised. Sorry you were upset the other day. My baby shower went well, we got some lovely gifts and it was so nice to see everyone. Weather was Hot hot too!

Hiya Sparkly yup baby shower was v. fun. And nursery is well stocked now. 2 weeks 'till scan eh; make sure you post pics.

Fruity thank you so much for the beatiful gift and the really helpful bits you brought too! Glad you like the nursery, I sat in there last night folding all the little baby things and putting them away aaw. Glad DS1 had fun with the ball, the flowers definitely got it didn't they! lol

Ei hiya, glad you had a nice time camping. GGood luck for Friday, let us know how it goes.

Lola Welcome back. Thank you for you concern; smear was a bit of a bummer really, bleeding stopped within 48 hours and hopefully no more proding until the baby's born. I hope you do get to spend that day in the spa, it sounds lovely...nice massage, pedicure mmmmm tempting.

I had the misfortune of listening to a woman giving birth on Thur, had to go in to hospital because of a funny turn and whilst being monitored I listened to the last 45 minutes of some poor girl's excrutiating labour. I'm quite nervous now!

HerNameWasLola · 01/06/2009 18:37

Bella!* crikey! Bet that was enough to put you off having one Glad the baby shower went well. Nursery pics please!! What was the funny turn? Hope you're ok now

Ei glad you had a good break, you certainly deserved it!! Glad things are finally moving with the hsg too, really hope it helps [smle]

Teehee sorry to make you worry

Mollie am wishing you all the luck in the world for tomorrow, will be thinking of you. Can't remember if I mentioned that I have a consultant's app tomorrow too, clearly it's a good day for it! No scan for me though, boo!

Scully you're as bad as me on the bargain hunting front, I love finding things reduced, and always end up telling people how cheap bits and pieces were! Have done REALLY well in TK Maxx recently with things for the baby, very exciting! Sorry to hear of DH's insensitivity, you're right about karma though, sounds like it got him good!

Wotcha Sparkly! I guess the only downside of so much texting is that I have nothing left to say to you on here!

Fruity think I might look into the GI diet after LO is born (I thought I was being all positive saying things like that, til DH pointed out that whether she's born or not isn't actually in question, she's not going to stay in there forever whatever happens! ) I normally use weight watchers if I want to lose weight, but when I do stritly I'm hungry ALL the time and I'm not sure I'd be able to cope with that if I had a baby to look after... Is the GI possible without starving to death? Met a chap who's recently lot 3 stone in 3 months on it last weekend! Sounds good to me!

We went for a tour of the birthing centre I'm hoping to go to for a few days after the baby's born on sunday. Really liked it, like Scully I was very impressed by the facilities, though not all the rooms are singles. It has a max capacity of 9 women!! Which will be great, as long as there's room for me. They gave the impression that it's pretty rare for them to have to turn people away, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see - no point getting stressed about something I can do nothing about

Very depressing seeing my dates move backwards all the time on the list, but unless I've lost count (which is possible - though it would have been unthinkable in the early days) I'm 27 weeks, not 28...

Lots of love to all

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/06/2009 18:42

So much to catch up on. Here goes....

Mollie Best of luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and DH.

Ei You mini break sounds just what the doc ordered. Hope you're feeling refreshed. Good luck with the tests. really hope they can shed some light on what's been going on. Hope that your grandparents continue to improve. And good luck with the weight loss. be careful though chick won't you. Rapid weight loss always a bit of a shock to yuor body.

Scully Loving your bargains. Is DH still sick as a dog? have you given him any sympathy at all?! I think Sunday must have been hormonal day for us both. I REALLY shouted at the DD's. Felt awful afterwards as they snivelled in the back of the car. Opps.

Fruity LOVE your idea for a personal baby shopper. Think there'd def be a market for it. Maybe you could hi-jack a preggers lady and use her as a test case?! You've got a captive audience on MN to try yout ideas out on. And big cheer for Jack Attack sleeping thru the night. Long may it last!

Sparkly Is the diss all finished and handed in? How you feeling? Not long til next scan then. Two week will fly by. Can't believe how far you are already.

Bella Glad the bleeding has stopped. And you baby shower sounds wonderful. Really glad that you got spoilt. It's nice to feel special with your first one.

TeeHee How's Noah? I can't beleive you can't type and hold a sleeping baby all at one . let us know how you are when you've got 5 mins free (round about 2010 then!!!).

Lola Ah, there you are. Wondering where you've been. Not sure if I've got any top tips for hospital bag but so far mine contains:

nappies cotton wool (for Tedwood's bum!), mat pads, breast pads, muslins, 3 x outfits for Tedwood, flip flops (hate to think what's lurking on floor of hospital bathroom), 1 x tankini top (for water birth), 2 x outfits for me (dark yoga type pants as you bleed a lot after giving birth and always leak everywhere), cheap knickers that you can throw away, dark towel (for shower after birth/lots of bleeding so don't ruin white towel), big (cheap) t-shirt for giving bith in if can't get into water in time, mini size toiletries, small make up kit, hairbrush, arnica tablets (v important for healing). Am sure I've forgotten loads of things. Will pop water/Lucozade in and some granola bars nearer to the time.

I'm shattered. Left ankle swollen. STILL got 5.5 weeks to go. Sigh.

Better go. Need to read with DD1.

Love to all. xxxxx

BellaHarry · 01/06/2009 19:06

Georgie thanks for posting your bag contents...I'm taking notes!

Lola nursery pics will follow I'll have to take some though. Are you almost 28 weeks then, because I'm almost 32 think there is 4 weeks between our dates? My 'turn' was apparantlt nothing but I had loss of vision and then flashing lights in my eyes so thought it was a blood pressure thing but nothing showed up...go figure?? Glad of course.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/06/2009 20:09

And, I forgot to say that

WE'VE GOT A MOVING DATE .

We're moving on 26th June. Can't bloody wait.

Bella Take it easy chick. No more funny turns. When do you go on mat leave?

FruitynNutty · 01/06/2009 21:05

Woohoo Georgie! That's Charlie's 4th birthday
Re the baby shopper thang, I would LOVE to go baby shopping with all of you! It's all experience Just gimme a shout!

Sparkly Oh yeah, I remember us doing that diet with you two! Wow, you have a great memory It must have been early last year. Was it before or after we came to stay with you?
Scully Preg hormones are awful I really feel for you.
Lola I'd steer clear of Weight Watchers. Doesn't seem all that healthy to me. Especially as it's a points system. I'd use all my points for the day on a Mars Bar or something GI makes you feel really healthy and full (most of the time - if you do it properly)

I've had a nightmare with the bank today. DP lost our joint account debit card so I cancelled it. Turns out they also cancelled my own account debit card too so we have no money at all until we get new cards and pins We don't have proper banks in my area, only cash points so can't even get cash over the counter. Nearest proper bank is a bus ride away. Don't fancy going on the bus with all the kiddies just to go to the bank! So p*ssed off.

SparklyPseudonym · 01/06/2009 21:26

Fruity I don't know when we did it. Maybe ina few weeks when I'm totally bored I'll have a read back at the posts from the last couple of years. That will be weird. Bloody bank . I'd lost one of my cards the other day and phoned to cancel it to be told they couldn't find my account details. I shouted (alot) and they found them pretty sharpish.
Georgie Woohoo! How exciting. That's less than four weeks away. Second the arnica. Although a pharmacist friend of mine told me you shouldn't handle the tabs but instead put them straight in your mouth or they lose the homeopathic(ness)? Have you used witch hazel? Heaven!! Am totally finished now. Results will be out on 17th.
Lola You didn't tell me about the birthing centre so not all is lost in reading your post . Am glad you liked it. Think I've talked myself out of wearing that dress on Saturday.
Bella Same thing happened to me. I was taken to hospital at 35 weeks pregnant with leaking hindwaters and the women in the cubicle next door was screaming and pulling on the curtain. There were no docs with her because they were worried about my DDs HB. Poor woman!!

teeheelaydee · 01/06/2009 21:27

Evening ladies

Baby asleep so much needed MN time required.

Scully I've just got a breastfeeding pillow and it is MARVELLOUS. Hands free feeding is now possible and Noah can fall asleep after and it's still comfortable. Can't believe what your DH said, not surprised you were . All I can really say is - MEN! Can't wait to know what you're having - blue or another pink one.

Ei Sounds like a break was just what you needed and I'll bet S loved camping, especially in this glorious weather. Glad to hear that things looking up for your GP's and lots of luck for Friday.

In fact lots of luck to Lola and Mollie as well. Surely time for Lola and Sparkly to get some bump pictures on here. You really are pregnant ladies - embrace it!

Sparkly Glad you had a good half term. Bet you got up to lots of exciting things as usual. When is your next hurdle scan wise? I've put some photos on FB as it takes too long to load on here. They're pretty up to date though.

Bella Just had a look at some photos on FB. You are glowing and can't believe how pg you're looking. I used to love spending time in Noah's room before he was born and found it so relaxing. He loves it now - not sure they're connected but he is always really calm and happy in there. I'm sure the labour sounded worse than is felt - honestly it feels like a stubbed toe -

Fruity Hope you have got over the car expenditure. They are always more expensive than you think - bloody things. You're shopping recommendations certainly helped me and there is so much to think about when pg, it would be good to have someone take care of the shopping - Mind you isn't the shopping a way to take your mind of the impending pain!

Georgie WOOHOO - A moving date and only a matter of weeks away. You will then be able to nest to your hearts content (without the use of ladders of course) Loving your hospital list - one thing I would definitely take Lola is a change of clothes for you as I got caught out as had to stay overnight and really didn't take stuff for me. Didn't have to take towels though - used the hospital's. V/impressed that you've included make up - you glamour puss!

Please ladies don't make me feel guilty with the diet talk - I mean I know I can have 500 extra calories when breastfeeding but are they supposed to be made up entirely of cake!

First baby massage today although we didn't really do any as Noah decided to have a snooze and a feed and a grizzle instead, but we've got the info to practice before next week. Just as the lady finished N did decide he was ready for a massage now thank you! Got myself a Baby Bjorn carrier today having tried a friend's. The one shoulder one's kill my back. At last I have my hands and arms back!

This weather always makes me want to do these..... .....they look like smiley suns

SparklyPseudonym · 01/06/2009 21:32

Teehee xposts. Have just seen new pics on N on FB. He is devine and looks exactly like you. I was going to replace my Bjorn with a sling...not sure I will though if it's a struggle.

teeheelaydee · 01/06/2009 21:44

Well- the slings look cooler but I guess not if you end up with a stoop! Stick with the Bjorn.

HerNameWasLola · 02/06/2009 09:25

Bella I'm not 28 weeks til saturday, I think your week changes on a Wednesday? Or have I made that up?

Mollie {{{hugs}}} Not long now chick xx

Right then. Time for some positive thinking. This meet up on 20th June - it's not far away now, so we need to work out who's coming and where to do it (my school reports always said I was bossy )

This is what I think, but am more than happy to acknowledge that others may have better ideas.
I think we should decide where to have it based on who is coming, and taking into account that some of us need a bit more prioritising than others (if that's the right word!) Don't want to offend anyone, and I'm not for one moment suggesting that any of us are any more important than others, but I figure we've got to work it out somehow, so why not this way?
Here's my thinking:

  1. Georgie if Georgie comes she'll be about 37-38 weeks pg and days away from moving house (incredibly stressful) so I think if possible we should try to arrange something convenient for her, if she's coming she doesn't need any more stress! It would be lovely to see Tedwood after she's born, but I don't think any of us want to see her go into premature labour and actually witness the birth
  1. Teehee if Teehee's coming with Noah she will be bringing the youngest baby. Would you drive or get the train Teehee? Am guessing if it's the train something near Liverpool St would suit you?
  1. Cricri although Elise is older than Jack, Cricri has a long journey with a little one, that's if we're going to meet Elise! (I really hope we are! ) I think you said you'd drive Cricri? What sort of area would suit you? (Am presuming we're still thinking london?)
  1. Fruity - Jack's still very little, and I don't imagine you'll want to lug him half way across london if you can help it!
  1. Sparkly - another long journey for a pg lady! Am guessing you'd get the train to Paddington Sparks?

Is anyone else thinking about making the journey apart from me and Bella? I've left us at the bottom of the list! (Sorry Bella!)

What does everyone think? Obviously feel free to disregard all or any of the above suggestions, I just thought it might get the ball rolling! Also all of the above goes out the window if mibbes or Scully are coming, they definitely trump the rest of us on the commuting time thing!

Might do a hosi trailor bag list this afternoon, if I do I'll post it on here for a critique from you wise ladies Enjoy the sunshine ladies

scully · 02/06/2009 10:55

Not that I could fly then, but it's very tempting just to hop on a plane and surprise you all at the meet up, a few of us might go into labour early
I had a bf pillow with the girls Teehee and really liked it, also good for propping up baby on the floor as well. Wouldn't have thought about that with the slings and your back, but makes sense. I will be using the same pouch I had for the girls, it worked fine and girls liked it, one less thing to buy.
What a nightmare you're having Fruity, with your car and Natwest Typical it all happens in the same week. At least you can't spend money if you can't access it
Great news on the moving date Georgie, you must be so excited Hope you have a lot of help in unpacking everything, that bit would tire me out just thinking about it.
Lola, I am a bit of a nightmare with bargains, get very excited by them, sad I know I used to like looking though TKMaxx, went to the one at Staines the day before we flew out
Glad you're ok now Bella, what a strange turn, it does sound like your bp.
2nd last week of work this week, so only 6 working days left Not busy or stressful so can't complain at all, but will be nice to lie on the sofa when I feel like it.
Hi to everyone else

SparklyPseudonym · 02/06/2009 11:27

Morning all,
It's so nice to finally have some time to myself. I've sorted out lots of DDs toys this am and scrubbed downstairs (and managed to break the living room blinds - oops!!)
Lola I am hoping to make the meet up and I might bring DD for the long journey (even though I'll be 3/4 dead and drained by the time we arrive). I'll be getting the train into Paddington and then the tube I guess.
Scully I remember the count down to maternity leave with DD. Hope you get lots of time to relax before baby comes.

BellaHarry · 02/06/2009 11:40

Lola yes I do change on a wed, well remembered.

Teehee bless you for comparing labour to a stubbed toe, you're very kind . Yeah I do find it so calming to sit in the nursery and look around and play with her little teddies etc...keep wanting to make up the crib nut it would be all 'non-fresh' by the time she was born so probably not then.

Sparkly gosh poor woman indeed, suppose she was obviously ok or they wouldn't have left her. The mw the other night made certain to highlight that "not everyone makes that much noise" when she saw my pale face as I strained to hear some reprease for this poor screaming woman..I kep thinking; 'if I could just hear the baby cry it would all feel worth it' but I left before she actually got it out!

Fruity sorry about the banking blunder...how annoying! At least you won;t be able to fund M&P for a few days

Georgie My mat leave officially begins on Mon 6th July (my birthday!) but I'm not sure if I will make it that far?? My replacment is starting on 29th June so technically a few sickies around that time wouldn't put major stress on my department. I just keep telling myself that every day spent working now is one more to spend with my lo after Great news about the moving date!!! Fab.

I have just realised that I allowed MIL to bully us in to visiting DH's Grandma is Suffolk on 20th June!!! Really don't want to go, most of all because I will miss the meet up which I have genuinely been looking forward to! I have mentioned to DH that I would like to get out of it if pos, but his Grandma is very old and ill so I would feel terrible if I stopped him seeing her and then the worst happened perhaps he wouldn't mind if I stayed behind?? She does have severe althseimers so wouldn't know that I had/had not been there or even notice that I was pregnant??? Is that mean?

Oooh It was the 20th! Thanks for the reminder Lola
I'll definitely be coming along. Can it be not too late in the day? as I've got a big girls night out that night for my 30th - EEEK!!! (not actually on that day btw - I'll be 30 by then ) I'm more than happy to jump on a tube to anywhere in London so stick me at the bottom of the list . Will probably bring both boys with me, especially if Sparkly's bringing L (Please come! C would love to see L again)

Aw, Bella You must come along. I'm sure you could stay behind? It'll be right dull in Suffolk. If your DH is taking the car I could always come and get you then we can come back to mine and get the tube together if you like?

Teehee I agree about the Babasling. It's awful. Looked like a good idea at the time but impossible to feed in it. If I ever got the correct angle (virtually impossible) then Jack's little nose would get squished and he couldn't breath then he'd start panicking.
I adore my Moby wrap though. Great for BFing (if you can do it ) and so secure and comfy. You wouldn't even know it was on.
I had a Baby Bjorn for Charlie but it killed my back, only used it once - mind you he was 9lb12oz at birth so that didn't help!
Ooh, Sparkly nesting early?
Scully I also get terribly excited over a bargain. But then I get terribly excited over any shop purchase! I bet you can't wait to finish work!

I meant to say, you are all more than welcome to join me on my big girls night out! You preg girls can have one drink anyway!

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2009 13:33

BTW, you can get a Moby Wrap on Ebay if any of you are interested

Afternoon lovely ladies.

I think I will have to declare myself out of the meet up. Looking at everything we've got to do before we move, I just think it'd be one thing too many. But please know that I'll be there in spirit if not in (swollen, fat, hormonal ) body!

But, would very much like to extend an ivitation to everyone for a September meet up at my house (after Lola has her LO and before *Sparkly has hers!). Maybe a nice lunch and some vino? You can all have a nosey at the house and we can have a good catch up. Am dying to meet everyone's babies. xxx

Fruity Have got my Moby wrap. Chose the olive green colour. Just got to learn how to tie the damn thing now!

Right, better get on. Will catch up properly later.

Mollie If you're lurking.....best wishes love. xxx
