Mollie I think the nuchal can be done for some weeks after 12, I was 13 weeks when mine was done anyway.

HerNameWasLola · 14/05/2009 18:05

Just back from work and had a catch up, will be back to post in a bit but just wanted to say to Mollie that the time limit for a nuchal is 13+5 I think. Good not to leave it right to the wire if you can help it as Georgie found - ideally you want a window so it can be re-done if necessary, as G's was

teeheelaydee · 14/05/2009 18:43

Bloody typical, just when DP takes Noah out and I come on MN all ready to post, which I have attempted 3 times in the last couple of days, the site is down. Now they are back and DP is in the shower, N asleep atm so I'll do my best. Will start with Fruity so if I run out of time and have to shoot off I'm sure the rest of you will be kind and understanding of my rudeness

Fruity I've been thinking of you lots the last couple of days but just haven't got to post. Am so for you that you're having a rough time. Actually a close friend of mine is in a very similar situation with her DH and her boys are roughly the same age as C & J. She is also thinking that her life with her and the boys would be easier and more enjoyable but it is the practicalities and finances that are worrying her. Lola took the words out of my mouth about getting some legal advice so you know where you stand. It doesn't necessarily mean you go down the separation route but if you find out what your options are you may be able to have a clearer understanding of how you really feel about the relationship. I also agree that you should seek some support as you are clearly down about the birth and BF which may be clouding the other stuff, although as you say you were pretty p*ed off before. As far as feeling resentment I urge you not to feel guilty about any of your feelings, they are perfectly natural and understandable and I do believe that if we can stop beating ourselves up about how we feel and simply feel it, things can start to resolve themselves. (in my experience that was certainly true). Scully is right about being run down with lack of a break, is there any way you could have one, could your parents help with that at all? It's great that they've reassured you about the wedding, they would want you to be happy rather than fret about the expenditure I'm sure..

Anyway after that essay I hope you're still awake. Please post and let us know how you're doing.

Sorry as much as I love the rest of you ladies will have to come back tomorrow as N awake if I get a move on I can feed him before the fish & chips arrive.

HerNameWasLola · 15/05/2009 08:30

Hello favourite ladies Hope you all have a lovely Friday! Must go and start getting ready for work... Catch you all on the other side!

FruitynNutty · 15/05/2009 16:59

Hi guys
Just to let you know everything between me and DP have been sorted. Wedding back on! Gotta have a drama before the big day doncha know

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, all of you for listening and thinking of me. You are the best ever! Some fantastic tips, which hopefully I won't have to use now.

Just gotta kick this resentment feeling. I'm fine until I think about it. Might just talk to the GP at Jack's 8 week (will be 10 weeks) check but that's two weeks away so hopefully will have sorted itself out by then!

I'll be back later and promise not to talk about me anymore!!!!

cricri · 15/05/2009 20:04

Hello ladies,
A quick post from France where we're having a lovely time. Elise has had her first bit of baguette and is loving the beach - sand is a particular hit although she does insist on stuffing her fist full of it in her mouth! The weather isn't great but it's not raining which is a start. She seems to be charming everybody she meets, including total strangers. It's lovely though I'm on my own with her with my gran, aunt and mum and DH is joining us next Wednesday.
Fruity Really pleased you've sorted things out with DP and that the wedding is back on. I hope you can work things out once and for all. I've been in a relationship which was a rollercoaster of emotions with huge ups and downs and it was extremely wearing. But if you're both prepared to make it work then good for you and I really hope it works out.
Mollie So sorry that your DH may lose his job. Really keeping my fingers crossed for you. My DH has had to take a 30% pay cut to save his job, so not as bad as your situation, but we're going to have to tighten our belts nonetheless. Ei Sorry to hear your DH has been made redundant as well. Not an easy time atm Mollie Pleased the GP agreed that you should have an early scan. Agree with the others about the nuchal though - get it done sooner rather than later if you can.
Scully Hope you're feeling a bit better, those damn pg hormones are a pain at times. It doesn't stop afterwards either ime. I seem to have lost all my decision-making abilities and dither for ages whereas before I would have just made a decision without a second thought. We're not talking earth-shattering decisions either which is really annoying!
Georgie So pleased all is going well with the build and I for one would love to come and see it when it's finished!
I'm really looking forward to our meet-up on 20th June btw
Bella It sounds like the natal hypnotherapy course was great and you got a lot out of it. I would definitely recommend staying at home for as long as possible in labour. I was booked for a home birth but ended up transferring to hospital but I was pleased to have been able to stay at home for as long as I did.
Sparkly Good luck with your dissertation. Bet you can't wait for it all to be over!
Lola Hope you manage to get some rest this weekend and put your feet up - remember to take it easy now whilst you still can
Teehee Hope you managed to eat your fish and chips! That good old cluster feeding I hope I won't frighten you by saying that Elise only stopped a few weeks ago when she started weaning... And that at nearly 28 weeks she's still not sleeping through! But all babies are different and as somebody else said, you need to do what is right for you. She's been with us in the evenings since she was born. I found my sling a real help - might be worth trying? You can then get on with things and at least eat dinner with your DP even though the sound of a baby suckling isn't exactly romantic. Hopefully we're getting somewhere with Elise's sleeping - since we've been in France I've been putting her to bed straight after her bath and although the first couple of nights she only slept for half an hour then screamed, tonight I just went back in to re-settle her when she woke up and she's still asleep! Fingers crossed it's not a one-off. Would be nice to have my evenings back
Hello to everyone else and hope you all have a lovely weekend

scully · 17/05/2009 12:03

Everyone must be having a good weekend
Sunday evening here so I'm about to go to bed. Had a good weekend, dh managed to do the things on his list for this weekend (he has a excel s'sheet with various things on it for some of the next 8 weekends), so my hormones are coping well with the fact the jobs are done Going to pair for the drawers for dd2's room tomorrow, and hopefully picking them up will be next weekend's job, so I can start unpacking baby clothes.
I have woken up with a cold this morning so feeling so feeling quite average and dd1 has been running a temp and throwing up, on and off since Friday evening. Not sure if she will go to school tomorrow, will see how she is in the morning.
Both my girls only slept through reguarly sometime between 12-18mths, I think anyone who manages it earlier is very clever, and lucky
Good to hear that things are ok again Fruity, with you and dp, did you have a good chat about it all?
Hi to everyone else

scully · 17/05/2009 12:07

That of course should read 'pay' for the drawers.......obviously the one panadol I took is starting to work.....
Forgot to mention, did a great layby at Target on Saturday, feeding bras were buy one get one half price, so I bought 4, plus a change table that was $60 off, and I returned the changing bag I had bought 2wks ago at $50 and then rebought it for $37, as it was also on sale Layby is for 8wks, will have it paid off within 6wks hopefully but nice to have a few more things taken care off.

FruitynNutty · 19/05/2009 14:12

Sooooo quiet in here!!!

Scully I love the fact you can use Layby! I wish I could use it on a changing bag I've got my eye on.
How's DD1? There's been a sick bug going around here lately. I felt really weird Fri and Sat. Kept feeling nauseous but without being sick. Fine now.

That bloody holiday thing was bait to get us to talk about Timeshares. Should've guessed really We still get the holiday though but it's not free. Just very cheap. 7 days for 4 people for £29.50 each plus airport taxes. So about £70 each which I can't grumble about. Plus we can take up to 2 more people for £99 each plus taxes.
We had to go into this exhibition thing in the west end and listen to the salesman talk about how wonderful their timeshare (not a timeshare) is. THREE AND A QUARTER HOURS later we got away with our

cheap holiday form and a form to get £25 John Lewis vouchers. I suppose it was worth it but I was still feeling quite sick so would have rather been at home. It was nice to spend time with just DP. His Mum had the boys as we weren't allowed to bring children under 7.

So, just gotta fill out this form and decide who's coming with us.
I've researched it on the net and people who've gone through with the talk and got their holiday said it was a lovely holiday. There are a lot of very critical people who didn't bother to go to the talk. It wasn't a hard sell though so we didn't feel pressured to buy the timeshare at all which was nice.
It was quite tempting though as it was a good deal especially if you go away a lot. It's not just to one place either. You can go anywhere in the world. Too much £££ for us though

Where is everyone??????????

FruitynNutty · 19/05/2009 14:14

Cricri Sounds like you're all having a great time in France. When are you back?

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/05/2009 20:27

Hello one and all. Just a quick one from me to say HELLO . Up to ears in house stuff. Over did it end of last week and ended up at Kingston on Sunday with a small bleed. All OK. But been banned from climbing ladders on site .

Anyway, everything on track for us to move end of June. Cervical stitch coming out in 4 weeks time. Not sure whether I'd prefer her to come early (easier to move when not pg), or stay in til 10th July!

Off to Fetal Med Cen on Thurs for growth scan. Really looking forward to seeing Tedwood. Wonder if she'll look like Libs did?!

Seems as if everyone is v busy too as it's quiet on here.

Hope everyone OK. xxxxxx

BellaHarry · 19/05/2009 21:33

Georgie sorry about the bleed hun that must be a real worry! What caused it? Hope the scan goes well, why are they doing that? did you ask? Is it due to your stitch. I've been told there are no mre for me unless there's a problem.

Fruity not a bad deal re the holiday, well done for not buying a timeshare! We spent our first a day in Vegas doing that! Got 140 dollars and lots of food for it! Was also very tempting but glad I didn't go for it now as would be impossible with less money now!

Cricri hope your still having fun on hol? Thanks for the advice on staying at home.

I had my check up at hospital yesterday, bloods and all, didn't faint or panic at all!! And I had to go on my own as DH is up to his eyes in it at work. Everything seems in order and baby is still head down, hope she'll stay there now, apparantly still more room in belly! Doesn't feel like it to me! I'm getting the impression from some of the things the mws are saying that she may be a littlen?? I'm going to post a belly pic tomorrow and would really appreciate your honest opinion? (although I now belly size isn't all it's about). Work is knackering me out these days, got a week off though soon so can't complain really.

Hope everyone else is well? It has been very quiet in here recently

scully · 20/05/2009 01:20

You'll have loads of room left if you're 30wks Bella Just won't feel like it though.
My baby must be starting to run our of room, some of the kicks are getting quite forceful now, would love to know what it's doing. m/w thought it was head down at last check up, I think it still is, given the pressure on my bladder anyway
Organised the drawers on Monday, even though I felt like death with a cold, so dh will pick them up on Sat morning and I can start rearranging dd2's room. We also now have space in the garage for some of the larger toys that need to come out of dd2's room for the cot to fit in there (kitchen, blackboard, table and chairs) so need to find a cheap rug or carpet squares to put on the concrete floor. Haven't been up for scouring shops this week though, only had a cold but has left me feeling average. Taking my first sick day this pregnancy, today, I normally work Wed, Thurs and Fri, but decided as it is pouring rain here, I would stay home and relax, not that work is busy, but I'm just over the routine of it all now, I think. Want to try and see my reflexologist today but some of the roads I would take to her are flooded, so not sure if I'll try.
Cheap holiday sounds great Fruity, and at least you've done the sales talk here, rather than fitting it in when you are on holiday.
I'm making pea and ham soup now, for dinner tomorrow night. A high of 19deg doesn't sound cold I know, but it's cool for here and with the rain, thought it would be a nice dinner to come home to tomorrow, as I will be back at work then.
Just had dd2 working hard, bless her. She spilt some water on the floor, so I asked her to get a cloth to clean it up, which she did, and then proceeded to wipe down the sofa, tv cabinet etc. Cloth was only damp so she wasn't doing any harm, and was pleased with herself for being a big girl

HerNameWasLola · 20/05/2009 08:48

Hello ladies. I'm here for a moan - lucky you!! As far as I know everything is fine with LO so nothing else really matters, but it's starting to feel like someone, somewhere, is taking the pss... see what you think...
Day before we go on holiday I crunch the (new) car
That evening I'm told I look "chubby" rather than pg which, though petty, knocked my confidence for a really long time
Monday after we got back from hol I picked up the car.... and crunched it again
About a month ago we spent about £250 on DH's car as the engine warning light kept coming on. £250 later, it's still on.
Car's been back to the garage. £950 later THE SODDING LIGHT IS STILL ON
Then we get a phonecall from out mortgage broker, our credit rating's not good enough to get the really good mortgage deal we were trying for, so we have to get a distinctly average one which means we can't afford to come off interest only.
I wouldn't be on here moaning about all this (and in fact haven't been on here moaning about it) were it not for yesterday.
When we were burgled.
While DH was in the house.
He was upstairs in the study, the back door was unlocked as the dogs had been in and out, and some f
cker walked into our kitchen and stole my laptop.
Can't quite believe it. We live in a small Hampshire village FFS, not exactly a crime hotspot. And I really hate that someone was in my house. The dogs were in the kitchen at the time too... useless muts.

So there you have it. None of it earth shattering, but surely we must be in for some good luck sometime soon???? I appreciate you all listening to me moan, I know everyone has their problems atm, thinking especially of Ei and Mollie, but I figure it's still pretty sh*t and we're always saying we're here to support each other, so here I am - HELP?!?!?!

Will post in a less indulgent manner (from the desktop in the study, with the back door locked....) later... Love to all xx

Molliemooma · 20/05/2009 12:06

Fruity Glad to hear you have sorted things out with DP, hope you are starting to feel better in yourself now. I did wonder if it was a timeshare thing when you said you'd won, still I admire you sitting through 3.5 hrs of crap, it will be worth it when your lying on a beach
CriCri Sounds like you are having a wonderful time in France
TeeHee Did you forget to come back
Scully Has the cold gone yet? Hope you are feeling better? Love the idea of training DD so young, well done
Georgie I have my finger pointing at you now listen, will you please slow down!!!!! Ladders?? Enjoy the scan tomorrow
Bella Glad to hear you didn't faint
Lola Virtual hug coming your way, I bet lola and nemo licked the burglar to death rather than barking, bless what fantastic guard dogs, no treats for them A friend of mine was burgled last year, they didn't realise the burglars took the spare keys for the car until they came back a week later and took it They say crime is on the increase due to the recession but you don't expect it when you are in the actual house! So sorry that things are crappy for you at the moment
Sparkly Will be expecting to see you on here from Friday when all your work is done, no excuses then

Not much to report here, m/s seems to be easing I'm now on my 3rd day of no sickness Waiting to hear from hospital re scan, will book nuchal soon. DH was told Monday that he is being made redundant and finishes in July, but I'm trying not to stress about that. I've worked out the worst case scenario and that is to declare ourselves bankrupt and lose the house if I can deal with that then I can cope with anything else in between. Hopefully it won't come to that, but it might mean renting the house and moving in with my Mum and Dad just what we want if we have a newborn Where we live is a very small place and there are not many jobs, what jobs are available have a lot of competition. Still I'm in the right place to look for work for him at the Jobcentre! Back to work for me next Weds too. DH has taken the whole redundancy thing really well, but it has made me feel even more anxious about the pg, if it doesn' work out again this time I'm worried that it will really hit him (and me) even more as he keeps saying we're having a baby so everything is fine, please god let this work out

BellaHarry · 20/05/2009 13:45

Mollie I'm so sorry that things have worked out so crap with DH and the job, you seem to be taking it very well but I suppose like you say you have long wanted lo and all is still well there (and long may it continue too ) I remember being in some very tough situations regarding money/houses etc as a young child (my dad worked for Robert Maxwell in the 80's!) and we got through it as a family unit, love really is a strong bond. I genuinely hope things look brighter for you soon.

Lola really horrible that you have been burgalled! Your right it is a violation and leaves you feeling understanably horrid. Seems really unfair too that after all the cash you spent out on the car it's still not right. Is the work not under guarentee then?

Scully the bladder pressure sounds familiar! how many times do you pee a day? lol I wish I was having some of your soup, sounds yummy! Is it a whole joint of ham your making it with? Was I right to update you to 32 weeks then? what do I have to look forward to in the next two weeks? Bigger kicks I take it? what weight is baby at 32 weeks?

SmilingEi · 20/05/2009 17:59

hey ladies
lola so sorry you were burgled!! what a horrible violation!! its one of my biggest fears especially as we live in a semi-rough area i hope you are ok
georgie i second mollie slow down, sit down, no more ladders lady!! i hope you are ok and your scan goes well
mollie glad the MS is easing off sorry about your DH's redundancy and i hope he manages to find something while he works out his notice my DH finishes tomorrow and there simply are no jobs in his work area[nail biting emoticon] dont know what we are goin to do!!
hope everyone else is doing well
nowt happening here except i took a sick day today as i am definitely coming down with something feel like total sh&*e!! and i have all next week off work aswell so yay!! cant wait!!
xx ei xx

cricri · 21/05/2009 10:42

Mollie and Ei Sorry you're having such a worrying time atm with your DHs' jobs. Such a worrying time for you Fingers crossed they find suitable work soon.
Lola How awful to have been burgled like that, especially with somebody in the house! Hope there wasn't too much irreplaceable info on your laptop. Sounds as though you've been having a cr**py time lately so hope things look up for you soon.
Georgie Take it easy! What are you doing up ladders anyway?? Put your feet up and let somebody else do all the work.
All OK here, Elise is still going down OK in the evenings so I have my evenings back at last We're back in the UK on BH Monday. DH arrived yesterday so that's nice
Hope everybody else is OK

scully · 21/05/2009 12:04

You've had a terrible run of bad luck Lola, but the burglery with dh in the house Are you insured? I have no doubt that our dog, a staffy, would be equally as useless, looks fierce but that's about it
And no more ladders Georgie, very naughty As ridiculous as it sounds though, it is easy to almost forget you are pregnant and just get on with things, not clever though....How did the scan go today (Thurs evening here )
How awful for your dh's jobs Mollie and Ei, must be stressful wondering how things will work out, but at least Mollie you are at the right place to keep an eye out for something else for your dh
Bella I'm fine until I stand up and then the bladder pressure is there straight away, don't even feel like I need the loo, until I stand up Finding it hard to give up my small cup of tea before bed, but that means getting up 2 or 3 times a night because of it. Now I understand why I never had this with dd1, with her being breech I never had this constant pressure.
The soup was lovely, I used a ham hock, can't remember the weight of it but it was more than enough for flavour and ham chunks I cut off it once it was cooked in vegetable stock/water. Enough for tomorrow night as well
Was telling dh before, I lie in bed now and the baby just thumps around inside my stomach, no idea what it's doing but it's quite aggressive

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 21/05/2009 15:21

All quiet here as DH gone off to get the girls from school. Thought I'd indulge myself in a bit of MN before I have to do Mollie's geography projet for her!

Mollie So sorry to hear about DH's job. It must be a terrible time for you both. I remember my Dad getting made redundant when my bro and I were at Uni and Mum and Dad had loads of fee's to pay (we didn't get grants). Sounds as if you've got a safety net though (your parents). Might not be exactly what you want but least you do have somehwere to go if worst comes to worst. Really hope that something falls into his lap before it reaches crisis point though. Did you get a date for your next scan?

Fruity Well done for sitting thru hours of talks. I'd have fallen aslepp . And well done for not caving and buying a time share. Really glad that you and DP have sorted things out. But please promise me that you'll see your GP. Just to rule out PND. Or failing that, if you've stopped BF (sorry, not meaning to rub salt into wounds) then a course of St John's Wort would really help to lift your spirits.

Cricri Holiday sounds fab. How's the weather. Glad tht you're getting your evenings back. It's a milestone that for sure! Stock up on Petite Bateau whilst you're out there!

Ei Another kick in the arse for your poor DH. And you seem so bloody upbeat. I take my hat off to you lady. How you feeling today? Sick or on the mend? Enjoy your week off. Any plans?

Lola Bloody bastard burglars. What a crappy thing to happen. And if it helps at all, pg women do tend to have more prangs in their cars. Something to do with spatial awareness. I've dinged ours twice this pg . So you're not alone love.

Scully Pea and ham soup is my all time fave. I cheat and buy Covent Garden fresh soup. But might have to cook some now! Am v that you get to sort out LO's room. Our poor LO will be sleeping in a drawer if the build isn't finished! I know what you mean about forgetting that you are pg. I'm also one of these people that hates to admit weakness, so just gayly battle on (up and down ladders ) rather than admit that tummy is killing me and I'd rather be watching telly with a cup of tea! Will try harder I promise. Off for pg massage of Tues and can't bloody wait. Sciatic nerves are so frazzeled. Oh, are you getting any Braxton's yet?

Bella Just decided to go for a 'well being' scan to check her size as both my GP's have said 'ooo, you're measuring big'. because obviously they can tell from a bloody tape measure! Not sure what caused the bleed. Prob just tweaked my stitch. All good now though. And I see that you're officially on your 10 week count down! Put your feet up over half term missus!

Scan went really well today. She's bang on for all parameters. Not too big and not too small. Perfect in fact! She's weighing in at 4lbs 11oz so far. Am guessing she might end up similar weight to Libs which was 8lbs 7oz..... if I don't cave and start stuffing face with Haagen Daaz .

xxxxxx

BellaHarry · 21/05/2009 18:26

Oh wow scully that soup sounds amazing I'm sat here drooling and all I have in the house is rice! Lol I read in one of my books that baby can say yes and no; shake and nod it's head and that bumps on your bladder! Funny image eh!

georgie yes the count down is oficially on! 9 weeks and 6 days! Hee hee! Glad the bleed's behind you and babe's a good healthy weight and size! Do they have to scan to tell that then? Or can they check any other way because I'm quite interested in what my lo weighs??

Hi to everyone else! I have consultant apt tomorrow, I believe he wants to do a smear Grrrr don't see the point had one in Jan! Oh well gets me out of work! Never thought I'd be glad to have a random doctor swab my cervix rather than work but I am feeling the strain at work these days

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 21/05/2009 19:22

Bella A scan is the only way to gauge your baby's weight. BUT it's not accurate. They can give you a rough estimate of what they think it'll weigh, but it can be one pound out either side. So, if the scan says roughly 8lbs, your baby could be 7, 8 or 9 lbs! I just wanted to check that she was growing OK. Pretty sure that NHS will only do growth scan if there's something badly amiss ie your belly is VERY big or VERY small for dates. I honestly wouldn't worry if you're measuring on the samll side. it's your first and your tummy muscles aren't shot to shit, so will hold her in more.

BellaHarry · 21/05/2009 21:49

Georgie thanks hun. No, your right NHS won't do anymore scans unless concerned and so far (and I'm grateful for this) all seems well so may not see lo until B Day! Must have been lovely to see your littlen again though?

SparklyPseudonym · 22/05/2009 08:50

Morning all.
Am so sorry I've not been around - I've been snowed under with work but promise to check in every few days from now on.
Am off for a flying visit to London this pm with DD. DP may join us at some point but he's usually so last min that I go ahead and make all the plans without him.
Decided to book a scan this morning - it's at 11:15. Was ill last weekend with virus type thing and have been feeling anxious this week about waters breaking, infection etc so just want reassurance that bubs is doing fine. DP wishes I could wait the three weeks until my scan but once I've got an idea in my head....apparently they can tell the sex of the baby from 17 weeks but 'it's not policy' at BUPA until 24. We'll see.
Am so sorry for the me, me, me!! Will catch up with all news on Monday. Have so much to do this am.
Lots of love to all. Have a fantastic bank hol weekend xxxx
