Morning ladies, how's everyone?

Welcome bigbrofan! What you're describing sounds normal to me (well it happened to me when I first used the monitor anyway!) First time using it, monitor asked me to test from CD7 and I had lows until CD 11 when I got a high. Kept getting highs from CD 11 to CD 13 and then got my peak on CD 14 and CD15.

This month, the monitor's given me highs a lot earlier on but I think this is because it now 'knows' my cycles better.

Another peak day today so you know what DH and I will be up to tonight! . To be honest, looking forward to a low day. It all gets a bit exhausting after a while!

thanks engelbart. i tested again this morning. now on day 11 and its still low - will just keep testing... when your monitor goes to high or peak - how many lines are present on the sticks??

Englebert - doo luck with your high.

bigbrofan - I think there are always two lines, but the second line gets a LOT thicker when it goes to high.

I only got my peak on CD18/19 - so it can take a lot longer than you think.

Still getting a BFN, still too early to test, still can't help myself!

Angua I know where you're coming from with regards to early testing. Last month I was pathetic and started using ebaby cheapies 7 days after ovulation even though I knew even if I was pregnant it probably wouldn't show!

Oh and that's useful to know what you say about the 2 lines. I wondered why 2 lines kept showing up even when I was on a low day.

bigbro- hope you get a high soon, its so frustrating waiting for it.

thanks angua and engelbart. i am even more confused now as when i have been testing i just have one blue line. there is definately not 2. do you get three lines when it's a peak day or just two. i think i might call the helpline as dont know how the machine tells between high and peak days and im one of these people that has to know everything....hahah!!! arrgghhh so annoying.
if anyone knows - just to clarify...is it one line for low, two for high and 3 for peak?? any helps appreciated.

hi bigbrofan! welcome!! there are 2 lines, one measures oestrogen (the one closest to the end), the other line is LH. as you approach O, the oestrogen line fades and the LH line gets much darker. It could be that your LH line is really faint atm if you are still on low days. HTH.

hi bigbrofan, welcome aboard! i'm on first month as well, and still on low (day 9). i've got one quite thick line on the test (oestrogen then BYM?), and a very very faint line to the right of that. so presumably that one will get fatter when the LH surges....
then perhaps it goes back the other way, once i've peaked (as it were...!)
angua - those BFNs are to be expected so far arent they, so we'll just keep all fingers and toes crossed that they'll become BFPs when the hormone kicks in!
engel - did you manage to stay horizontal all night?!

hi all, just joining myself now too! Angua, I am exactly the same as you!! I peaked on d18/19, can you help me understand though what date af is due? Is it the 23rd or 24th? This is my 1st mth using monitor so am a bit lost

bellasyummymummy if there are two lines - 1 for oestrogen and the other LH why do i get a line at all then when im at low fertility? sorry for all the questions. just want to be sure. i know i ovulated last month as i had a progesterone test at the doctors and he said it was normal...but i think that just frustrates me more as me and hubby tried so much last month and not pregnant. nightmare!!! i am trying so hard to not think about it or obsess over it. good luck xxx

trixel - the BFN's were anticipated, but still.... I just can't help feeling that if I was actually pregnant, it would be positive. I know its silly.

carolk06 - it really depends on your cycle, my cycles are currently 31/32 days - so I am expecting AF around then (or rather hoping I don't get it)

The monitor starts to flash a little m at some point around when your period is due/is coming due.

How long are your cycles normally?

I did manage to stay horizontal Trixel. Must try again tonight too! Do you think you'll get a high on monitor tomorrow? It should be my last high day tomorrow although DH away so will have to hope we've done enough for this month.

This is my first month using CBFM after TTC since Oct 08. I'm on day 12 and got my first peak this morning. Any advice?

Also, ur all writing about EWCM... whats that? I feel so silly. Im a total newby!!

Well, EWCM is rather more polite way of putting the slightly less charming Egg-White Cervical Mucus - I do believe! Sounds lovely doesnt it?! Basically when your discharge, as my mum used to call it, becomes more pronounced and quite stringy for want of a better way of putting it - a bit like egg white i suppose!
Welcome to you andi! In terms of advice - get bonking! Then stay horizontal, whilst commanding your significant other to bring you chocolates or sandwiches - because it is imperative not to move of course!!
But I guess you're asking for advice on the CBFM, which I'm afraid I am also a total newbie on as well: day 9 of first cycle!

engel - dont know if will be a high tomorrow - maybe so!! but if it is, i'm not sure whether to leap on G or to give him a day's grace. i know that he generally is good for every other day, rather than every day - and it will definitely have to be every day for the 2 peak days. how many high days are there normally? then i can work out which days he can off?!?! (like it's a hardship!!!) i suppose it might vary from person to person like everything else....

im so glad someone else asked what EWCM was i was wondering....
angua - stay positive and i know how hard it is but early testing is the worst - so many times ive convinced myself that im preggo and then i test and im gutted... my consultant told me not to test....wait as long as possible and then before you know it you could be 6 weeks and could get an early pregnancy scan...but i myself cant wait one bit and waste so much money on engative testing....

I got 2 high readings bigbrofan. I got them on days 10 and 11 and I peaked today. To be honest, I wasnt expecting a peak at all this month after reading the posts on hear. I nearly wet myself when it came up this morn. Before today, I was peeing on the stick and this morning I dipped it. Dunno if that has something to do with it... its great having other ppl to talk to about this.

How many peak days do you have? Is it 2? Good luck bigbrofan xx

yes generally 2 peak days a month andiw. I've been dipping the stick rather than peeing on it, which seems to work better. I don't understand why the instructions say to dip it for 15 seconds but to wee on it for only 3 seconds, how can that work?!

Trixel, my DH is a bit like yours. I know he'd prefer every other day because lets face it, it does become a chore when your sex life is determined by a machine!! I wondered about giving DH a night off tonight but as its my last peak day don't think we can risk it. Would be gutted if I got a BFN- I'd blame myself for not doing it on both peak days.

nooo dont gave him the night off. You're right - you'd only be dealing with what ifs, and I shoulda's if you did get a BFN. It s a chore and it kinda takes the passion out of it, but our men need to undestand, its all for the greater good. Just gor for it Engelbart!!

aw thanks andiw77 - i will try dipping it and see if it effects the result. i agree - really nice to have other people to talk to - think all my friends rae fed up listening to me - plus 2 best friends are pregnant....
i think i read it is just 2 peak days....the day you ovulate and the day after. fingers crossed for you xx
