Aw, so brill engel.

This is def NOT my month. What do we think is happening here - CD 16, still high on testing but no peak days yet AND now am bleeding, have been for 2 days. Not really like period tho.

monkeybumsmum · 01/08/2009 14:48

Hello

Been trying for dc2 now for 17 months in all, had 2 mc's in that time, one of which was a partial molar pregnancy. Have been trying again since Feb but no luck and cycle is all over the place.

I just wanted to ask you all whether using the Clearblue fertility monitor has really helped you or not? It seems a lot of money to pay, but if it gives us a better chance then I'll get one for next month. I know that obviously you wouldn't all be using it if you didn't think it's worth it, but was just wondering whether if you had your time again you'd still get one?

Hope you don't mind me asking, and good luck to you all!
Thanks x

cyncan · 01/08/2009 16:15

monkey I think the monitor is a great investment at least to help you learn about your cycle. We are starting to see the results in this forum with a couple of BFPs!!

engel how great to hear your details. How exciting. Hope you stay with us, and let us know how things go along your pregnancy!! The issues with DH aren't really about TTC, they are a combination of things. Too much stress lately.

salander something similar is happening to me!! Last month I peaked on CD20 AND CD21 I am currently on CD21 and no peak I think it might be all this stress!

xoxox to everyon!

monkeybumsmum · 01/08/2009 16:22

Thanks cyncan Since posting I've googled it, and it looks really good! Have also gone back through this thread a little and it appeals to me to be able to know what's going on - at the moment I haven't a clue!

One last question if you don't mind - do you have to start it on CD1? I was going to wait til AF rears her ugly head before getting one, or should I get one in preparation and start as soon as AF appears?

Congrats to the BFP's!

If I do end up getting one I might come back and join you if that's okay?

cyncan · 01/08/2009 17:04

You can definitely join! You have to start it the first day AF appears that is considered CD1.

Here is their site:
www.clearblueeasy.com/clearblue-easy-fertility-monitor.php

You can find the manual there, it sill help you understand how it works.

Trixel · 01/08/2009 17:09

of course that's okay monkey! hop on!
you get 5 days after your period starts, ie: you need to have started with it by the morning of day. i'd be inclined to get it now really just so you have it in time. mine was a last minute decision and i got it so that i could start on day 4, but it would have been too late for that cycle if it had been the next day it arrived - which would have been really frustrating!
cyncan - it's really good to see you again. but i'm really sorry to hear about your stresses. is it still the same? are they little niggly things that are exacerbated by the stress you're both under? nothing big, and un-overcome-able?
salander - not sure about the bleeding.... i think the monitor is fairly fool-proof meaning that you i don't think you would have ovulated just yet - otherwise i would have been wondering about implantation bleeding at this time of the month. maybe, just maybe? [fingers crossed emoticon]
got the inlaws here for 6 days, so will try to pop in for a chin wag in between making endless cups of tea, and preparing meals, eating meals, washing after meals then planning the next meal - that is if i've not checked in to the nearest clinic

cyncan · 01/08/2009 17:54

trix you got it just right. My sister in law has been living with us these last 8 weeks... and I am about to check into the nearest clinic.. things should get better soon.

hopefully they do before my peak comes!! hoping tomorrow!!

Vikks · 01/08/2009 19:53

Monkeybumsmum ? Welcome to the thread! I?m a newbie too, I got my CBFM last week so now I?m just waiting for AF to get started.

Trixel & Cyncan ? Wow, I don?t envy you there! Don?t overdose on tea

Salander ? I think you shouldn?t read too much into it, it?s probably just harmless spotting

monkeybumsmum · 01/08/2009 20:49

Thanks cyncan and Trixel - that's great advice, and I shall go and have a look at the manual.

Thanks Vikks I think I'm now decided that I am going to get one, so shall be looking forward to getting started. It makes a change to be looking forward to AF for once! When is your AF due?

salander have you had mid-cycle bleeding before? I heard somewhere that it can be a sign that ovulation is close?

How long do you all normally get high days for? Can it go on for ages?

Vikks · 01/08/2009 20:58

Monkeybumsmum ? It's due now I'm CD31 and getting very impatient. Like you I'm looking forward to it for once, what day are you on?

bigbrofan · 01/08/2009 21:37

well i am on day 29 of cycle and havent tested yet. my monitor is still flashing m........

i feel like af is on the way so have held of from buying a test as cant stand getting a bfn. i pray that af stays away though....

engel's news has given me hope?? do you or your husband smoke engel???

salander i got my period last month and it was 2 days long and really light and it was only a 27 day cycle....so odd....its horrible.

my mum also said to me this week that my tummy looks swollen.... sweet... im really worried i have somthing wrong now - going to doctors this week.... its probably just fat as all i have done since my mc is eat....

i got a dress for a wedding in spain in september AND i tried it on today to show hubby and he said i looked pregnant....

xxxx

babyinacorner · 02/08/2009 08:40

bibbrofan - test! test! test! I admire your iron will in not testing so far!

bigbrofan · 02/08/2009 20:21

well i went to tesco and bought a test and got a BFP. it was a clearblue digital with conception indicator it says i am 2-3weeks since conception and 4-5 weeks based on doctors dating it.

i was shaking when i check and was so pleasantly surprised. im literally walking on air. part of me is so so happy but also aprehensive because of the past m/c's but i am staying positive and just thinking good things.

i will keep following this thread as who knows whats round the corner. i defo think the reflexology has helped me this month, i would really reccomend that to everyone - tell your reflexologist that your trying to concieve. i also cut out caffeine and elevated my bum for 20mins after bd'ing and tried not to pee afterwards. who knows if any of this makes a difference but for me i believe it did.

will keep you all posted on whats happening. keep the faith.

xxxx

salander · 03/08/2009 09:22

Another graduate it is!!! Congratulations BigBrofan!!! What an amazing month!!! Two ladies with BFP!!

I on the other hand, had a terrible month with DH! Things are finally back to normal. Sister in law out of the house for three weeks, so we are now enjoying quality time together!! CD23... still no peak.. bd'ed last night. I am thinking I won't peak this month, but still hopeful.

Keep the faith up everyone that is still waiting for the BFP!! We will get there soon!!

xoxox

Vikks · 03/08/2009 17:33

Bigbrofan ? Congratulations I?m so happy for you! You give us all hope. Good tips too x

cyncan · 04/08/2009 06:15

Ladies!!!

You can't believe how upset I am!!!! Last month I bought a combo pack of fertility monitor test sticks... and in the middle of this month ran out of one box, and started using the box that I had currently bought. It is CD 23 and I didn't get my peaks... and guess what... the company shipped out expired sticks!!! What a month!! First DH and I fighting... and then these sticks that don't work! VERY VERY UPSET!! Just emailed the company to get new sticks!!!

Arg!! Beware on purchasing these on-line ladies, and make sure they your sticks are not expired!

(they don't sell them in pharmacies here)

[agry] very

salander · 04/08/2009 08:20

Aw cyncan! That's rubbish. You are having a rotten month. Write it off and start fresh next month w proper sticks, i think. IF it makes you feel any better i am on day 19, still high with no fecking peaks. trying to remain upbeat but its raining today and can't really be assed. hope everyone else is ok.

cyncan · 05/08/2009 17:24

Thanks Salander!! Yeah, I might as well discard the month of July.... It never existed!

I think we are the only ones here... is everyone on vacation!?

Have you gotten your peak already? I think mine might have just been missed by the machine using those crappy sticks!

The machine keeps on asking me to test though.. it is CD25!! Don't know what to do....!? Anyone have any suggestions?!

xoxo to all!

babyinacorner · 05/08/2009 20:58

Hiya

Salander -any peak yet?

Cyncan -sounds like you are having a crappy time of it at the moment. Do you think you ovulated even though it didn't show up on the machine? did you get any bd'ing done at the right time?

anyone else got any news?

Well I had some acupuncture today -it was a bit weird! People say it's painless but I wouldn't agree! although it wasn't exactly painful just that you could definitely feel each needle going in. I must have had about 15 in my back then when i flipped over she put a few in my feet and stomach. she felt my pulse and also looked at my tongue and identified a weakness in my kidneys and sluggish digestion! anyway i'm on day 10 of cycle so at least i have had some done pre-ovulation -got another session booked for next wed and also got some reflexology booked for tuesday.

salander · 06/08/2009 08:16

Hello everyone

Baby - acupuncture sounds quite odd! always been put off for that very reason - could never grasp how it was meant to not be painful.

Yeah, just writing july off as a totally crappy month. Still no peaks and its day 21, still making me test tho which now seems totally pointless as sure AF will be here in a week. Did manage to BD when thought i SHOULD have OVd but really don't feel PG.

Cyncan - i was re-reading the machine instructions in desperation last night and read that sometimes it can give you a continuos high w no peak, ie it may have missed the surge. Not exactly comforting but at least its not totally abnormal. Think they will make you test on 20 days then chuck it. think that's what is happening to me this month. Roll on august I say!

salander · 06/08/2009 08:17

Oh, it is august. you know what i mean - roll on the next cycle!

Vikks · 06/08/2009 19:53

Hi Ladies,
Hope you?re all well, I need some advise please?..Provera or not Provera? That is the question!
I?m on CD36 now and very cheesed off, definitely not PG. I?m desperate for my AF to arrive, after the op last month and my new CBFM, I?m feeling pretty excited about my next cycle. So should I get a prescription for Provera? A 7 day course brings on AF but if you were just about come on it delays it until you?ve finished the tablets. So from the start of taking the tablets to AF arriving is about 9 days. Would you wait or get the pills? Help!
