oh that is a bummer baby, really sorry to hear that. hope that you're not too sad, i know you said you were expecting it, but boooooo nonetheless.
you keep us on tenterhooks engel! well, we'll all be hoping for you. and for you of course bigbrofan.
"bellas" - i was the same with my two, didnt really have any symptoms to speak of so it's not much use symptom-spotting for me! the only thing is that overwhelming tiredness, but that didnt kick in til wk 6-7 i think.
and an afternoon nap didnt materialise - been out with the kids all day. just got back and am finally putting my feet up. will def be in bed early tonight!

cyncan · 27/06/2009 17:18

good morning my dear ladies! late night last night.. just waking up now! Bellas glimmer of hope for me with your peak on day 23. I am on day 20 and still no peak.. but then again it is my first month... so odds are I might not peak.

Kran don't put the sad face and get to bed!

baby sorry to hear about the BFN!!!! there is always next month!! You too engel!!!

engel if I am not mistaken we have a six hour difference. It is noon here in DC; it is probably already 6 pm over there!

newmember all the luck for you! hope you really took advantage of your peak days!!

bellas I am so happy to see you are still here!!! do keep us posted on what sypmtoms you get and the progress of your BFP!!!

this month is almost all gone for me, DH hasn't been feeling well, so no bding this weekend hopefully next month seems more promising with peak and DH fully functional!!!

Cheers ladies.

BellasYummyMummy · 27/06/2009 18:44

bigbro- i also had a silent mc, so when i see a positive pregnancy test i dont automatically assume baby... which is really sad. but i am being more optimistic this time round, whatever happens happens, it all works out in the end.

still no symptoms, i have been feeling a bit 'off' when i first wake up but not sick. my official due date is tomorrow (i think!), so will be 4 weeks then. i was really gassy about a week ago which i had with last pg, and had soft stools (sorry tmi!), which has been consistent with every pregnancy (4 so far!! but only one baby). i also have had some cramping on/off the last few days which is normal, and some really sharp twinges on my left side which i had with my DD (think bean is just getting comfy!)

sorry for those with BFNs, i know how heartbreaking it is.

i so hope you all get your BFPs soon and that all our beans stick like no more nails glue!!!

Kran · 28/06/2009 08:17

Morning all.

Sorry to hear of the BFNs. Onwards and upwards and keep everything crossed. Well, not everything

Well. My monitor is loopy, I think. After my peak yesterday it is stuck. I switched it on this morning in the testing window and it is stuck on day 26, showing a peak and not asking for another test. Huh?!

Kran · 28/06/2009 10:26

It's just not asking for another test today. It's not loopy. I am.

engelbart · 28/06/2009 12:02

Blame the monitor Kran, these things can turn you loopy! Mine has started flashing up the m symbol which means of course its expecting my period (as am I!). Surely it makes sense for the flashing symbol to be a P as in period. Wonder why those chose m?

Another glorious day here. Am planning on going out somewhere for lunch even though I should be watching my weight have put on about 7 pounds .

How's everyone else?

cyncan, is DH feeling better ie is he up for bding yet?!

Bella- any symptons? Hope you're feeling OK.

Trixel- did you manage an early night?

Bigbrofan- any idea when you're going to test?!

NewMember · 28/06/2009 16:17

Hi Ladies,

Got my 'peak' this morning - managed to BD last night, will also make love tonight

TTC = Passion Killer - must try and make it more fun! Massage oils out tonight I think!

cyncan · 28/06/2009 19:20

Ladies!!!! CD 21!!! GOT MY PEAK!! AND hubby was up for bding!!! I am so excited!! I was thinking with the pill and being the same month I wasn't going to peak!! Will try to bd again tomorrow!!

As for me, TTC has made bding even more exciting .

I don't want to get over excited about this... but seeing that peak this morning was really really awesome!!

How is everyone doing!?

Cheers!

engelbart · 28/06/2009 19:24

yay for your peak cyncan!

Know what you mean about it making the whole bding experience more exciting!

cyncan · 28/06/2009 19:36

yeah engel! hopefully it will work! how are you doing?

engelbart · 28/06/2009 19:45

Doing OK. Have decided that from next cycle I'm going to give up all alcohol and caffeine. Have been reading how it any alcohol can automatically decrease chance of conceiving. Keep remembering how most peak days last month I'd had a glass of wine or two. .

Don't quite know how I'm going to manage it but needs must! Will have to buy some really nice soft drinks and add a slice of lime or lemon to them to make them more 'exciting'!

So pleased you got your peak. You should get another one tomorrow too. And then begins the long two week wait!

BellasYummyMummy · 28/06/2009 20:11

cyncan thats awesome news!!!! its amazing how one little symbol can instantly change the mood of the day!!! lots of luck

good luck with the alcohol free month engel, i've read stuff too backing up what you said. I had a few glasses of pimms (yuuuum) but didnt have any wine. although alcohol is alcohol!

newmember thats great you also got your peak (i swear it feels like only last week you had your peak...! time flies i guess). good luck!!

kran- your monitor deffo sounds a bit wonky! at least you got your peak reading before it threw the wobbly!!

cyncan · 28/06/2009 20:22

engel, go ahead and definitely stop all the alcohol!! I haven't been drinking for almost one month!! the doc. highly recommended to stop all consumption!!! caffeine isn't that bad.. but just in case I am abstaining too!

I know it is boring, but we need to be as healthy as we can be! to increase the chances!

thanks bellas!! hopefully I will have the same news you had a couple of days ago!! [don't want to get too excited].

xoxo

Trixel · 28/06/2009 23:13

ooooh it's all sounding very exciting in here! hurray for peaks newmember and cyncan - especially you cyncan as you it's been a long time coming! that's great news.
we've had another mad day, with a big event that we had planned in the business going t*ts up thanks to a pool filtration problem - so we spent all day cancelling things, then had some lifeguard training tonight. so i'm shattered again!! thanks engel, i did get an early night last night though. must go to bed soon though!
maybe the alcohol thing does have some merit actually - it'll be tough though. it sort of symbolises the end of the week doesnt it, or sometimes just the end of the day!, to be able to have a lovely chilled glass of white, or a warming red. but praps i should give that some thought - not bad for slimming as well of course.
bellas - are you thinking you're about 4 weeks then? will you get a dating scan?
engel - i said exactly that to DH, about the m symbol, and he said he thought it was probably for menstruation - bloody smart arse [slapping self on forehead emoticon]
so are you actually on day 26 now kran? you'll probably be a 35-dayer this month then won't you. aren't our bodies silly? that was why i bought the monitor at the end of last month, because i had a random 35 day cycle and just thought how the hell am i supposed to know when i'm ovulating after that?!
bigbrofan, angua - how are you girls?
x

Katnkittens · 28/06/2009 23:37

Hey, can I join? I just bought a CBFM from ebay so will start using it when my next AF arrives
I'm only CD8 today but I had a colcoscopy and cervix biopsy on Thursday due to abnormal smear results so was told no BD for 2 weeks due to risk of infection . I'll see how I feel, might go for it on CD14 as only 4 days early but not really holding out much hope for this month.

Anyway, I'm also to be found on the TTC ~4 thread, I'm 29 and I have a 13 year old (in 2 days) DS, an almost 11 year old DD and a 5 year old DD. I had a mc in December and another in Jan and nothing since. I know I haven't really been trying very long but having always conceived straight away I'm finding it hard. It took a long time for my HCG levels to decrease so this is probably only my 3rd proper cycle since the m/c.

Sorry rambling , been reading the thread and keeping fingers crossed for all of you!!!

Kat

engelbart · 29/06/2009 09:15

Trixel your DH is very clever, of course the m stands for menstruation. How could I not get that . He is a right clever clogs! So relieved I now know what it stands for, wonder everytime I see the thing flashing! Sounds like you had a rough day yesterday, hope today is better for you!

cyncan relieved to hear your doctor seems to think a little bit of caffeines OK. I think I'd find it harder to give up my first morning cup of tea than a glass of wine. Drank my last glass of wine last night and thats it. Gulp. I must drink about a gallon of coffee when I'm at work (boredom) so going to swop that for de-caff but still have normal tea. Oh and of course must try and stay vertical after bding. Haven't really been doing that. Its a sort of quick DH lets do some bding before Corrie comes on (cyncan - you probably wont know what Corrie is but its one of our 'great' British TV programmes!)

Welcome Katnkittens- ttc 4, wow! Am in awe. Was thinking when I do eventually conceive number 2 will have to get started on number 3 as soon as possible. Always wanted a larger family any I'm fast approaching the age of 'doom'!

cyncan- how are you? Another peak today?

cyncan · 29/06/2009 14:52

Engel!! I got another peak today! Yesterday managed to get hubby to bd 2 times! (never had happened before...very hectic lives haha) Hopefully tonight we will be going at it again. (and you are right, never heard of Corrie!!) but as you said, definitely stay laying down for a bit after bding..!! that way the swimmers make it up there!

In terms of tea, I think it should be fine, perhaps with some milk, but get away from Green tea... it is not good for TTC

It is probably just me.. but I am feeling a bit off today..

Kat you are really amazing, I am 30... and TTC #1 !! I guess I am really a newbie here!

babyinacorner · 29/06/2009 17:26

Cyncan - you sent me into a panic re the green tea as i drink loads of the stuff but after googling it - it seems to suggest that green tea aids conception! Hope that's the case or I will have to give up my fave beverage!

engelbart · 29/06/2009 17:49

have to admit I've never had green tea. Is it herbal? Had my first cup of de-caff coffee today, don't think I could taste the difference although I'm certainly less hyper!

2 times in one day cyncan, now that is dedication!

bigbrofan · 29/06/2009 21:05

hi all, just watching the tennis.... i am going to wait as long as possible to test - that is unles my AF comes - hoping it doesnt. i will wait probably about a week after my af is due!

i have been having strange twinges in my tummy - especially at night and the sides of my boobs are quite tender...but sadly this could also be symptoms of AF on the way... i am going to be sooooo gutted if it comes...bellasyummy - have you had any discharge since you got your bfp - i have a wee bit and wondering if this is a sign of early pregnancy or period on the way??

xxxxx

good vibes to all

cyncan · 29/06/2009 22:10

baby.. my mistake.. green tea is not good when you are actually pregnant.. but it is good for conceiving!

engel, good for you!! little by little you will get used to not having the caffeine and you will be all set to go! green tea if I am not mistaken is herbal. doesn't have soo much caffeine as coffee or regular tea (I think).

I wish I could be watching the tennis!! Who are you ladies routing for? I am a big fan of Federer. I have been sitting at work... all day long.. pretty dreadful.

hopefully DH and myself won't be too tired tonight to go at it again...

Xoxoxox

Trixel · 29/06/2009 22:57

hey girls, just a quickie - so to speak - not my usual waffle! just finished watching the tennis, hurray for murray!!! cyncan - we all claim andy murray as british over here, and cling to the hope he may win this year!!
been out to the comedy club at the local theatre, where paul tonkinson was on - i was crying with laughter at points. then thrilled to find the match still on when i got back thanks to that new fancy roof!!
cyncan - you go girl!! blimey, twice in one day, that is extremely committed. i'm not sure i could summon the energy!!!
katnkittens, welcome! you were on a little while ago, werent you, asking if the CBFM was worth buying? you obviously decided to go for it! welcome aboard! i'm ttc#3, and have taken a few months this time to conceive, having been fairly quick before. it's frustrating isnt it.
bigbrofan - hats off to you if you wait a week. i would like to think i would have the will power, but i know full well that i'll be weeing on a stick before the week is out!!
dyou think we should start a list of where we're all at by the way? i've seen them on other threads, and as our virtual cocktail bar / green tea cafe is growing, praps we could have a roll call!

Trixel · 29/06/2009 22:58

oh.
it wasnt that much of a quickie after all!

cyncan · 30/06/2009 02:05

trixel what did you mean by: you think we should start a list of where we're all at by the way? i've seen them on other threads..?

I will have to root for Andy Murray then! But I still heart Federer hehe

Being this my TTC #1.... we are trying to be as committed as possible

all my positive vibes to all of you ladies! I have to say I am really happy to have found this cyber spot!

engelbart · 30/06/2009 08:31

Ah yes I have seen those lists too. Good idea Trixel. Any volunteers? I would offer but am stuck at work at the moment pretending to do work!

Enjoying a cup of de-caff coffee.. I hope all this healthy eating and drinking pays off!
