Ooooooh Ghosty! Sounds really hopeful. Keeping everything crossed for you.

SamboM · 25/04/2003 09:47

Ghosty, my line was so faint that I took it into Boots and showed it to the pharmacist who said (you've guessed it) that any line is positive, so congrats!!!

jessi · 25/04/2003 11:25

Congrats Ghosty, sounds like you've cracked it!My test for this pregnancy was also SO faint, dh didn't believe it until it kept getting stronger, day after day ( I think I ended up taking about 5 tests in all!)Best wishes.

kaz33 · 25/04/2003 11:28

Snap another one with a very feint line - I think because I tested so early, like you.

Looks like congratulations are in order.

mum2toby · 25/04/2003 11:30

Ghosty - what's it like now??? Has it gone darker?

Dunno, and won't know until I stop taking my pill in about 10 days time. Then I'll just have to wait and see if my periods starts.

It seems such a long wait!! I got VERY sore breasts very early on the last time, so I'll just keep looking for signs.

Ghosty · 25/04/2003 11:35

M2t ... I got it out of the bin ... it is still the same ... I wish I could describe it ... the first one is a line ... when you squint at it and hold it up close ... thinner than the width of a hair !
The second test is still even fainter ... but I do think I screwed that one up when I did it ...
I will buy some more tomorrow ...
Every so often I think 'Oh, I am pregnant!' then I forget .... my boobs hurt and I have been tired but then I have been tired for 3 and a half years

Ghosty · 25/04/2003 11:38

I've missed this M2T ... Are you thinking you are pg too? Good thing or bad thing? Where's the thread?

Ghosty · 25/04/2003 11:44

Ok .. found it ... he he he! Shotgun wedding ...!!

mum2toby · 25/04/2003 11:55

Ghosty - I know! How awful would that be!!!?? It's highly unlikely, but you just never know......

Katherine · 25/04/2003 13:32

Ghosty just found this thread. Congratulations. A line is a line. The fact that it is so faint probably just means you popped a bit later this month so are maybe a few days behind what you think. I've got everything crossed for you. I know how hard this is going to be but remember one day at a time. With DD I tested every other day for nearly two weeks because I was so convinced I was pg. It took ages to get any blue line at all. Hang on in there. Thinking of you.

Hughsie · 25/04/2003 13:37

Ditto - I had very faint line with ds2 and it was because he was conceived later in the cycle - a line is definitely a line. CONGRATS

Meanmum · 25/04/2003 13:46

Can someone help me out here. I was so sure we would get pregnant this month. I mean we actually had sex! My period is normally regular in terms of the date not the amount of days and I worked out my most fertile time depending on a few different factors which meant it went for about 7 days. We certainly had sex over this time and I know I am extremelhy fertile with my dh by past epxerience but I have done 3 tests so far and they are all saying negative. I can't even see a faint line. I'm now hoping my period will start a bit later and I have just tested too early.

My early signs are indigestion when I drink and even though I have had indigestion the last few days it hasn't been when I am drinking. I think I've just over eaten during Easter to be honest.

I did a First Response test on Monday when I should have really waited for Tuesday if my period is going to come today, I did a Clear Blue on Wednesday even though I know you're not supposed to do that until the day your period is late and then I did another First Response yesterday. They all seem to be saying quite clearly that I'm not.

Am I living in pure fantasy land hoping to be pregnant or do you think there is any possibility that my period isn't due to be here until Sunday but in theory if it sticks to its usual process of the date might not come until Monday or Tuesday.

I don't think I'm making any sense at all but I'm hoping some/one of you out there might have had negative readings when in fact you have been pregnant.

Meanmum · 25/04/2003 13:57

I think I've answered my own question. After writing this message I raced off to do another First Response test and it still says negative with absolutely no faint line to even hint at maybe being pregnant. Bugger.

grommit · 25/04/2003 14:10

Meanmum - sorry to hear that - better luck next month. It's not easy I know getting ones hopes up every month but it will happen!

Hughsie · 25/04/2003 14:21

Meanmum - sorry to hear that - like you say I think you answered your own question - dont be downhearted.

Best of luck

Meanmum · 25/04/2003 14:23

Onwards and upwards as they say:-). Poor dh had to ask the other night if we could have sex besides just when I am fertile. Poor soul, I feel sorry for him now.

Maybe the answer is to not plan so much and just go hell for leather next month. I'll keep you all posted, stop eating so much to get rid of the heartburn and be active.

Meanmum · 25/04/2003 14:24

Damn, I still can't do smiley faces.

kaz33 · 25/04/2003 14:29

If its possible relax, you know that you are very fertile and so no reason to beat yourself up about it. It will happen, but you just have to wait for nature to work its magic.

Flippa · 25/04/2003 15:58

Meanmum, sorry to hear your news...I know how crushing the disappointment can be. You try not to get your hopes up but inevitably, you start thinking about being pregnant and looking for those early signs. I am exactly the same. We have been religiously bd-ing during my so-called fertile period for the last 5 months to no avail. As I fell pg by accident the first time, I thought it would happen quickly the second time - and to make matters worse, I know a lot of people who say they fell pg within one or two months...its agonising but the advice is good - try to relax and enjoy the practising!

Ghosty, I am now 25 weeks pregnant and started out with such a faint line you would not believe...shame you are so far from a Boots, whose tests consistently gave me a positive before any others (and boy did I try them all out this time). Good luck, it all sounds very "positive".
Meanmum, I'm sorry it doesn't seem to have worked out for you this time.

Ghosty · 25/04/2003 20:49

Thanks everyone for your lovely messages .... as usual Mumsnet is giving me such lovely warm vibes ...
Meanmum ... I know how you feel on the disappointment front ... I conceived twice without even trying and so I thought it would be so easy this time. I am still not 100% convinced that I am but if I am pregnant it has taken 5 months ... which is a long time in our book ... and I have felt bad about my poor DH who also commented about having to bonk like crazy for 5 days and then not do anything the rest of the time!
Don't feel too downhearted ... and as you say, perhaps don't plan so much! Hope it works out for you soon GXXX

Ghosty · 26/04/2003 03:48

Well ... I am afraid I came on today
We were shopping and I had the tell tale period pains so I went to the loo and hey presto ...
Feeling a bit low now ... like Meanmum, from past experience Mr Ghosty and I have been successful in the conception department so I don't know where we are going wrong ...
I so so so want to have another baby ... Please please please please God ...
