We just wont stop worring will we? My sil all have this thing about not bringing a pram into the house until after the baby is born. I was'nt allowed to keep a curl of ds first lock of hair either.
I reckon your little bean will be clutching a bag of mini eggs on your next scan photo

VJaybigpants · 08/04/2009 10:01

It probably will . They were ds's mini eggs, I was just helping him out!
I have heard about the pram thing, but I've nowhere else to keep one, so it will be in the house. What would I have done if I still had ds's old one?????

mermaidspurse · 08/04/2009 10:05

I know, we would'nt move if we listened to every superstition.
ok here's mine.... had ds in 20 minutes with no pain relief cos he arrived so quick... dh wanted to call him apollo cos he arrived like a rocket But he wasn't that blooming big! Huge hospital bag with everything in it never even got unpacked!

barbie1 · 08/04/2009 10:09

im liking your method of delievery mermaid...im going to choose that one too!

barbie1 · 08/04/2009 10:10

mermaidspurse · 08/04/2009 10:12

there is one word I left out barbie stitches.

VJaybigpants · 08/04/2009 10:15

Yes I'll put my name down for one of those too.
OK here goes, ds was due 28th Sept, he finally arrived 17th Oct, 18 days late!!!!!The hospital took me in on day 15 to induce me, but they lost me , once they found me they started me off, I started contractions on the Tuesday and finally had him on the Thursday after a tens machine, pethidin, gas and air and an epidural! I quite fancy a c-section this time I do think some of that has something to do with his autism, but it can't be proved. Anyway once he was here the rest didn't relly matter, although it has taken me 7 years to do it again. Hope I haven't put anyone off

VJaybigpants · 08/04/2009 10:29

Have I scared you all away?????

barbie1 · 08/04/2009 10:43

yes

nah not really had to do a trip to the shop.....in all this wanting a baby havent really thought of the actual having the baby!

VJaybigpants · 08/04/2009 10:52

Morning you chattering lovelys!

Wishing a very very Happy Birthday to Sabs & Curly!

Lets all have a lunchtime drink to congratulate Mollie!!!!!!!! So pleased for you sweetheart, I lived every moment of your description of finding out - laying on the sofa feeling scared & excited & sorry for yourself all in one! I'm sure the spotting is nothing, get yourself an early scan in a couple of weeks for some peace of mind. I practically move into my EPU! Sending super sticky thoughts to your lil bean! xxx

Well, just had my 'one to one' which means I may have to relocate my job to central london, but at least I'll still have one! Not good timing for a new job mainly cos of the whole PG thing, my work has been great with all the time off & appts & you have to be employed 6 months in a new job before you're entitled to maternity so I aint goin anywhere, tho 12 yrs redundancy would be nice!

So Charlies Angels at the ready?! Love the link Barbie! Still not a dickybird from the doc!!!! . Past feeling desperate & depressed today... just a bit 'whatever'! Tho sure stomuch will be doing somersaults when pho does eventually ring! Mermaid methinks you've found your socks & shoes & still nothing!

Much much thanks for all the support yesterday my lovelys.. xxxxxxxxx

4everhopeful · 08/04/2009 13:10

Good stuff mermaid! I warned the secretary of our impending descent & she reckons she'll chase him to call me, apparently 'he doesnt always do what he's told'?!?!?

Joolsiam · 08/04/2009 13:42

OK, back from the gym (5th class since Monday - polishes halo) and ready to storm the consultants office. I do Body Combat doncha know

(whispers - I think I am having an implantation bleed )

mermaidspurse · 08/04/2009 14:04

jools if you are having one then I am gonna add a big gold star to your halo - so crossing everything.

Neeko · 08/04/2009 15:09

Hi. Thought I'd add my DD's birthing story to freak you out distract you while we wait. Started contractions about 15 mins into my due date and all systems were go til morning then all stopped. Too excited to get any sleep and people kept on phoning. Started again at tea time and headed to hospital about 10pm only to be sent home again! Used Tens machine and went back to hospital about 1am and went into bithing pool which was great. Eventually asked for epidural as was so tired. Everything progressed beautifully until DD's head got stuck. Ended up with forceps [ouch] and doc refused to tell me how many stitches I had by claiming it was a running stitch. Knew it was bad when my own battle axe midwife gave me sympathy 3 days later. Would do it all again without the epidural in a heartbeat!
Any news yet?

4everhopeful · 08/04/2009 15:13

Oooh exciting Jools! (...and at your 5th class of the week - its only weds woman!)

So are we all ready Charlies Angels?!?!

Still nothing... I blame the secretarys actually, DH has been all calm & reminded me the doc did actually say should get results before easter, I pho the secretary on mon to find out how/when we'd get the results & it was HER who said 'ooh today or tomorrow' & got me pumped up with anticipation... Yesterday the oth secretary said 'ooh could be after easter, dont know why you were told mon/tues' then called back to say 'oh results been faxed through doc will call you'. Today when I chased, again got told 'ooh takes 10 days' so when I got a word in edgeways & told her they'd apparently been faxed she said 'ok will get him to call but he doesnt always do what he's told' (?!) then she said 'if he doesnt call today, I will call you myself tomorrow morning (thurs) & you will def know before easter'.....

Confused? I am! I should of taken redundancy & become a mc specialist secretary cos they dont seem to know their arse from their elbow & I have had v bad experiences with all of them, NHS & private.

C'mon - lets get em!!!! (Maybe we should lose the bunny ears if we really wanna show em we mean business!)

Neeko · 08/04/2009 15:17

I'm with you if you need me but will need a map as my sense of direction is shocking - especially in heels!

bakingqueen · 08/04/2009 15:32

hello am new to this whole thing but looking at what others have written feel I am in the right place. Found out I had an missed miscariage on the 2oth March and had an ERPC on the 23rd. Was so devestated as it had taken 2 1/2 years to get pregnant. Went back to work on Monday people were so kind but lost it when some well meaning person asked if I was off because I was pregnant! Now desperate to try again can't wait until AF as advised so have started using the ovulation sticks but getting scared as still no positive. Did anyone else try straight away or am I just being mad! Have brilliant friends but cant talk to them about this as one of them is pregnant, due a month before I would have been just feeling a bit alone and unsure

babyinacorner · 08/04/2009 15:47

Hi bakingqueen and hi everyone else! I'm new to this thread too but have been lurking for a while now.

Had a missed miscarriage also - in february and also had an ERPC. tried to get pregnant straight away but nada - now on 2nd cycle and day 16. havent used ovulation sticks as I believe the results can be altered due to the fact that i have been recently been pregnant (that's what it says on the packet anyway)

well I have gone for it this month - drinking the favourite tipple of grapefruit juice, taking my pre natal vitamins (and dh too!) and had bd on day 9,10,11,12 and twice day 13 as I think that's the day I ovulated as my last cycle was 27 days. couldnt do days 14 and 15 as my ds has been really ill with d&V and we haven't had a chance. may try and fit another one in tonight for good luck!
