I am in a bit of a place, awful time at the consultants. we got our results which were all normal except our lo which had an abnormal chromosome Trisomy 7. It has completely floored me - sorry dont mean to drag happy sparkly thread down. Its all a bit pants today girls.

barbie1 · 17/03/2009 08:15

mermaid dont ever think that you are dragging us down, we are here through the good and bad.

Im not too hot on all the test that everyone has had so im guessing it isnt good news??? Im going to do a little research for you and hopefully will come back with a full understanding and some good news for you. Im here all day if you wanna talk, its too hot out today.

I finally got a docts appointment for saturday 10.40.....

ah barbie thanks and I am so glad you have a drs appt at long last.
the trisomy chromosomes are things like trisomy 21 which is downs, Edwards is 18. I think 7 is pretty much a non go beyond the first trimester which is why I guess I keep losing little ones. I think thats why it has upset me so much, its probably not 'just one of those things' to have happened 4 times is a bit more than unlucky. IVF was mentioned to me but you know I am sooooooooo lucky to have my ds, and god yesterday we realised just how lucky we are that I cant justify ivf. dh keeps ringing to make sure I am ok and it feels like we have slipped back 2 months. My sticks and preseed arrived too and I just dont know what I am thinking from one minute to the next! ah you know how it is... still it is a beautiful spring day and going to do brunch with a friend.

barbie1 · 17/03/2009 10:12

Enjoy your brunch, sit back and relax for a minute. Yes you are lucky you have ds however you dont need to justify a need to go ahead with ivf, if you want another lo and you have love to give than why not? see how you feel in a few weeks time, in the mean time enjoy what you have and do all the things that you cant do while ttc

Hi guys, have not been on MN much recently but just had to stop by and catch up.

Especially want to wish Sabs luck for today (right now!), I have my 12 week scan on Friday and I'm already sick with anticipation so I really know what you're going through.

mermaid, sorry to hear of your news, I don't know anything about that condition but really hope that maybe some of those clever docs can come up with some solutions for you.

blue fingers crossed for you that the fat lady doesn't sing this time - sticky thoughts

barbie you are doing sterling work keeping this thread together, and it's lovely getting updates from our foreign correspondent!

Hi to everyone else - epecially jools, how are you doing lovely you haven't posted for a while (though I'm hardly one to talk)

VJay · 17/03/2009 10:40

barbie so glad your bupa card has arrived, hopefully you can get some answers and move forward, keep positive

mermaid sorry to hear about your test results, was the trisomy 7 found on just the last lo or all of them? You have been very unlucky, but remember you have ds so you know you can do it, that thought kept me going.

sabs am thinking of you xxx

blue and mm hope you are having a fabulous meet up, I'm rather

VJay · 17/03/2009 10:41

Hi lionstar wow 12 weeks, time does fly, maybe not for you at the moment, but it does for me now, I'm 17 weeks tomorrow

Lionstar · 17/03/2009 10:46

VJay glad to hear things are speeding up for you - the last 12 weeks has really felt like the longest of my life, it is CRAWLING! Which of course means the anticipation for Friday is just building and building. Even though I'm feeling much more pregnant this time (popping out of my jeans!) I still can't help feeling that it could all be a big trick and I'm just going to see an empty screen again - I don't think I'll be able to watch.

barbie1 · 17/03/2009 10:49

bloody hell girls 12 weeks and 17 weeks??? i cant believe how the time had flown, although not for you!

VJay · 17/03/2009 10:51

It is hard lionstar I still feel doubts now, I just want to feel lo kicking, I think I've been feeling it but am not too sure. I had my 16 week check last week and as I left the doctor told me to 'enjoy the pregnancy'. Easier said than done, but it is getting easier, and I found that after the 12 weeks things do seem to be speeding up. I'm sure you'll be fine on friday, and I will be thinking of you.

Happy St Patricks days xxxxx

VJay · 17/03/2009 10:52

barbie it is speeding up now, in 3 weeks I'll be half way there!

mermaidspurse · 17/03/2009 12:08

omg vjay 17 weeks that has surely gone so fast, for us that is - its easy for others to say enjoy it I guess and maybe we will never quiet stop panicing.
lionstar well done to you too and it is so lovely to see those big fat tummys here.

Sabs1981 · 17/03/2009 13:03

Hello lovely ladies. just a quick sneaky post from work to say that all is well! She (i say she cos its better than "it"!) was all over the place, swimming around, waving, sucking her thumb etc...I couldnt help but cry! I never thought i would get to where we are now...going to stop before i cry some more!
Everyone knows now - told people at work. Cant concentrate cos im on cloud 9!

Will post again later on today

VJay · 17/03/2009 13:06

GracieGirl · 17/03/2009 17:48

Sabs - yippee!!!! Its great to hear good news around here from you and Vjay. Lion thinking of you for friday.

Big hug for Mermaid. Barbie i wasn't up early just working nights and hadn't gone to bed yet.

bluesatinsash · 17/03/2009 20:12

What a busy day !

Fantastic news sabs sooo happy for you and your DH (and at Vjay refreshing her page for an hour...)

Not long 'til Friday lion

Mermaid - so sorry to hear you've been floored today. I have read a bit on trisomy's and just because this lo had it doesn't mean your previous ones did and remember you have DS and can do it!

barbie - delighted to hear you've got your Doc appointment, onwards and upwards!

Met the lovely MM today and yes barbie I almost snuck her home in my handbag . We had a lovely time and it was actually warm and sunny in Glasgow so we sat outside after lunch while DS chased the pigeons

Curlywurlee · 17/03/2009 23:22

Hey girls, just a quick hello. Things are crazy in RL but I'm thinking about you all Fab news on your scan sabs, I am so happy for you honey. You have me crying too

Talk to you all soon xxx

Joolsiam · 18/03/2009 10:04

A quickie from me aswell Huge congrats to Sabs and hello to everyone else. It is lovely to hear stories of success after MC.

Mermaid - thinking of you lots aswell. I hope you get some explanations and a PLAN together so you can move forward

Feel a bit of a fraud being here tbh - not TTC due to ongoing relationship issues. I think they are moving in the right direction, but it is taking time. Still working on losing weight, but the Cambridge Diet is not working its advertised magic, so I've only managed half a stone in 3 weeks (average initial losses are at least a stone in a month !)

I do drop in from time to time, but am trying hard not to sink into a babyless depression, so am keeping a healthy distance from Mumsnet for most of the week.

barbie1 · 18/03/2009 10:09

lion you will be fine on friday, our list is growing fast!

Im reall ill today girlies dh has had a sickness bug for the last 24 hours and this morning i have got it too....struggled to take the dog out, power walked around the lake for fear of an accident thankfully i made it but im soooo ill now, my body is achy all over, it hurts for anything to touch me, even my clothes. If i lay down it hurts my belly if i sit it makes my feel sick......the only good thing is i might loose a couple of lb's
