Please don't be offended if you're not named, you're still welcome, I just have a rubbish memory. I can see a couple of you on November thread but there's a whole load of people not there. Just wondering if you wanted a little thread to keep in touch?

Headfairy - just replied to you on grapefruit thread. So sorry about your sad news. Was hoping a new thread might provide you with support from old friends.

And Sunnydale, I know you're wary of new threads, so though you might also like the company of old friends.

Wishing and Bubble having your weird long cycles and missing whole month's threads, thought this might be one for you too.

So what do you say? I'll start a list just in case:

Issy, ttc#1, cycle 14, ucl 28ish, cd 23/10dpo, mc Mar08, cp Sep08, IVF in April.

Sorry gateau took me near on 30 mins to type that post and i missed your announcement.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Gateau · 11/02/2009 09:12

Thank you. Hope you get the result you want with the OPK.

girlwithacurl · 11/02/2009 14:20

Congratulations gateau sticky thoughts coming your way.

bubble i think its much better to get Chicken pox young, not much fun for any of you, but good to get it out of the way!

Twiglettini · 11/02/2009 19:10

Oh Gateau, what good news, but totally understand your caution - will keep fingers crossed this one sticks x

re chicken pox parties, do think it is a good idea to get it young. I just worried that if I purposefully infected my child, then I'd feel awfully guilty if they got it really really badly and really suffered with it, iyswim

hope all had good days x

Issy42 · 12/02/2009 00:41

Wow our first BFP already - let's hope it's a sign of a lucky thread. Congratulations Gateau and welcome. Understand your caution, sending you lots of good vibes for a very sticky bean.

Welcome Twiglettini and BlueSatinSash. So sorry to hear about your mcs. I can't blame the sperm for my mc since it was the top quality donor stuff .

Thanks for popping by Yellowflowers .

Bubble - Hope your DS1 is better soon. If all your ds2's friends are going to the chickenpox party then he will probably get it from one of them. I thought chickenpox was most contagious before it showed anyway. Re OPKs I didn't always get a definitive positive but know I was ov'ing as having monitored cycles and day-21 bloods, so always took the darkest line to be the positive even if not technically darker than control line.

Headfairy - Sounds like you had a good day yesterday. Thanks for sending Sunnydale our way - hope she joins us. Lol at the zimmer frames. So impressed with your runnning. I've never run before - I once got told by a doctor not to because I used to get shooting pains through my foot just running for the train in the morning (and playing netball at school), but I figure if I follow the programme should be OK. Treadmill arrived this morning and have spent all evening unpacking it. Too impatient to wait for help, so will probably ache like hell tomorrow just from setting it up .

Girlwithacurl - well done on tea and alcohol cut backs and winge away - that's what we're here for.

Can't believe how busy the thread is already. Haven't been on since Monday as was at the Strictly tour yesterday, which was fab. I got my temp drop today so hoping AF arrives early tomorrow so can book my antral follicle count scan for Friday. At least it will feel like I'm doing something.

And just to add to the treat list, I'm eating G&B Maya Gold - justified by burning 100 calories in 8 minutes testing the treadmill earlier on .

Issy42 · 12/02/2009 18:28

RipMacWinkle · 12/02/2009 19:15

Hello, can I join you? I think I recognise just about every name on here.

I joined the latest ttc thread but to be honest, my heart just isn't in it. I'm totally scunnered with this whole thing. I'm so grateful for DS but DH and I desperately want DC2.

Generally my monthly cycle at the moment is - being upset at the arrival of AF, getting really angry about AF arriving, then try not to think about the whole thing, get onto the 2ww and start obsessing again and then we're back to the start.

Does anyone else know what I mean?

Sorry to be a downer but ttc is becoming a bad word in this house

Here's to not getting stressed about ttc but hopefully, somehow still getting pg.... and it lasting.

Twiglettini · 12/02/2009 20:04

Hello RVW, sorry you are feeling so mis about it all - it's so hard not to mind each month, isn't it. I joined a ttc thread too, but have not participated as want to (pretend to) maintain a calm attitude to it all. Have you read Headfairy's rules up thread - good stuff (if very difficult in practice!). Good luck with it all x

Hi Issy - lol at your A grad quality swimmers, none with zimmerframes or walking sticks for you!

HeadFairy · 12/02/2009 20:43

Hi y'all... sorry for absence, I went to my mum and dad's last night as they hadn't seen ds for ages so I was being sociable and chatting

Hope af arrives on time for you Issy so you can get your follicular county thingy - can you tell I failed my biology A level? I'm v impressed you've invested in a treadmill, I only started running because I'm too mean to pay for a gym and I needed to exercise. Now I just walk everywhere with dh, we did an hour walking today (well I did, he sat in his pushchair and admired the scenery!)

Hi Rip and welcome sorry ttc is getting you down. I can't speak for the others, but I'm doing some serious ttc avoidance, not actually avoiding ttc of course, but avoiding all the crap that goes with... I'm not counting cycle days, have no idea what day I'm on, I just bd for Britain roughly around the time I ov. So far it's been very successful, I haven't been symptom spotting cos I don't know what day I'm on, I've picked a date in about three weeks time and if af hasn't started then, then I'll do a test. Easy! Feel free to join in, and we can avoid talking about ttc, thinking about ttc, eating sleeping and dreaming about ttc etc etc together

Bubble, I hope you're feeling better... is it a cold you've got? This year has been horrendous for colds hasn't it? Take care of yourself.

Hi to everyone else, I won't ask Gateau about you know what, but hope you're well and not stressing too much.

xxx

RipMacWinkle · 12/02/2009 20:51

Hi guys - just re-reading my post. I sound really glass-half-empty don't I? I'm not really but I'm right there with you headfairy I'm trying to zone out on the whole CD thing etc etc

On the plus side (trying to be positive?!) I had a lovely wee glass of vino tonight. Couldn't have done that if I was pg

JumpingJellyfish · 12/02/2009 21:02

Hello all- can I join too?! I was madmarriedNika on the May & June threads, then namechanged to JumpingJellyfish and was on the intervening threads since then too. Now on cycle 9 of TTC#3 and trying not to feel down about it, having watched many 'familiar' names graduate recently, but I am admittedly a little disheartened it has happened yet, in spite of BDing quite frequently the last couple of cycles. I was trying the laid-back not cycle watching approach, as I was lucky enough to fall pregnant with our 2 DCs almost without trying, but this time it seems to be different. So much for the planned age gaps etc etc!!

So I'm with you ladies on the actively not cycle watching!

I did attempt to start charting this month, but have already given up as didn't have the right thermometer and like I thought I would forget to take my temp first thing (esp. as DD tends to wake us at very ungodly hours of the morning so it's not really a good time to do such things...). But I have to admit I have got some OPKs to try- I've never used them before and as my cycle's changed since having DD figured they might help... (cycle got shorter, though seems to finally be lengthening back towards 28 days again now...)

Anyway I'm early on in my cycle so trying to keep off the conception boards and not become too obsessed...But it's really nice to see some familiar names though I'm so sorry for those who've had miscarriages

Good luck to you all xx

JumpingJellyfish · 12/02/2009 21:09

ooooh just read your post gateau- Brilliant news, really, really hoping this is a sticky bean. Did you have any investigations regarding your past mcs? I know some ladies have recently been diagnosed with Hughes syndrome or other "sticky blood" conditions (that don't normally affect one except when pregnant) and been put on low-dose aspirin, or in some cases heparin, which seems to help pregnancy outcome enormously. Blood tests very quickly diagnose these conditions- it might be worth asking for those tests just in case it might be relevant.
Wishing you loads of luck x

RipMacWinkle · 12/02/2009 21:11

oh gateau I'm so sorry, I must have missed your post. How rude?

Very quiet congratulations..

Issy42 · 12/02/2009 23:55

Welcome RipMacWinkle and JumpingJellyFish - I remember you both from the threads. Thanks for joining us.

PMSL at your post Headfairy - presume you meant ds not dh but love the image of you pushing dh around in a pushchair .

OP posts:
HeadFairy · 13/02/2009 08:06

hahahahaha yes Issy I did mean ds, but sometimes dh could probably do with a giant pushchair, it's usually after he's been out with his mates, can't imagine why...

Hi jumping, I remember you from one or other of the threads. Welcome. I'm using OPKs although I cocked it up slightly last month as I was so relaxed about it all I didn't really start testing at the right time and kept on forgetting oops! So I just go for it from about cd13 onwards... that's my master plan. Not very scientific I know. It's very liberating not examining every twinge and tingle though.

bubblebell1 · 13/02/2009 08:15

Morning girls!

Hi and welcome to Jumping and Ripmac

Thanks for the chocolate Issy its most appreciated

Thank you Head, ive got a chest infection and started on antibs so hopefully it will clear up soon. yesterday i felt terrible. i was having hot sweats and ached everywhere. Today it seems its just my chest that hurts.

still nothing to report. and i still dont know what cd im on i just know AF is late

Do you ladies have any plans for valentines day?? We dont have a baby sitter so will have to have a romantic meal with the boys (not)

How are you all?

xxx

HeadFairy · 13/02/2009 09:07

Hi bubble, I hope the chest clears up soon, it's a good excuse to have a long soak in a hot bath, the steam is very good for chest infections

I'm working on Valentine's day, 2pm to 11pm, so no chance of anything particularly romantic for me. Dh will hopefully remember to get me a card, I told him he had to at the very least. As you can see I married the most romantic man in England (not)!

girlwithacurl · 13/02/2009 11:11

Hi everyone,
My DP won't even get me a card, and we are going out with friends on Sat. So no romantic weekend for me
oh well, as we are miles away from ov date we can BD just for fun... anyone remember that madness I know! for us that is about as romantic as it gets!

bluesatinsash · 13/02/2009 12:50

Hi All,

Our PC monitor flickered and died on Wed so have been offline since then as I don't work Thurs. DH has managed to borrow a monitor so we're back up and running(although I'm at work today sneaky posting).

Whispered congrats to gateau - really hope this one's a sticker .

Hi Ripmac and Jumping. I started taking low dose asprin following my 2nd mc after meeting my consultant, whatever might help eh...

Hope your chest is better bubble

re: Valentine's - DH and me are not doing cards as our love flows every day . We have nothing on this weekend and will be doing our usual red wine/ER, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Brothers and Sisters Sky+ catch up.

I'm now on 'hey, who's counting?' 2ww but have some long arranged nights out in March and am having mixed emotions if I do get a BFP... One of the nights is with my Playgroup Mums and will be the first time we have met (a) without kids and (b) with alcohol!

The terrible two's have hit our house with avengence. DS is 3 in June and has always been a very laid back boy - ha! (laughs bitterly). His testosterone must be flowing but the screaming, hissy fits and general spoilt brat behaviour has really floored DH and me. Its distressing and exhausting and part of me is glad I'm not pg just now as I'm up every night with him at the mo and find myself not looking forward to my two days off with him [shame emotion]. Tell me this will pass!

Have a great weekend everyone, only 7 hours 'til wine o'clock

bubblebell1 · 13/02/2009 16:53

erm.. i think im pregnant.

bubblebell1 · 13/02/2009 16:59

no.. i cant be. got the faintest of lines on an ebay cheapie and just did another and that was neg. rang drs and have an appointment for monday to speak about blood test results so will c what happens. feel sad stupid now

girlwithacurl · 13/02/2009 17:08

bubble when did you do your tests? if you had drunk a lot of water you might have been too diluted. When I had my MC at the EPU I got a neg on the test because I had just drunk a lot of water because I was told to have a full bladder, but the blood test showed clearly i was PG. Do another one tomorrow morning.
I have everythign crossed for you!

bubblebell1 · 13/02/2009 17:16

1st test i did around 2 with my opk. and then when i went loo again i did another test and its neg. the line is very faint. im thinking that its an evap line. altho after readin poas website it doesnt conform to the evap lines description. i will test again tomorrow morn. but i dont hold out much hope.

bluesatinsash · 13/02/2009 19:28

Bubble - I read somewhere that its v hard to get a false positive.
