DQ - ah we won't hold it against u that u're from soton guess someone has to be! lol. bournemouth's OK thou, nice beaches there.

can I be first in the q for the january orders please? pretty please! i'm doing my excersie and all to get my body ready!, I do have a question thou, if I do get PG (and is a big if) am I still ok to do my swimming, I only go twice a week but I do at least 70 lenghts a time (I don't have a slow/take it easy switch with swimming) so is it ok to do that or best not to go?

yellowbear · 14/04/2005 22:21

George32 I'm 6 days post ov, so very near you & yes I keep prodding to but nothing to report there, although I do have the heavy feeling in my somach. Af due next thurs fri although cycle still not settled down from last m/c, so may test fri if nothing happened - hark at me as if I'll last that long, lol.

Frizbe · 14/04/2005 22:27

Munz, carry on swimming, its the best exercise you can do when preggers, as the water totally supports your weight! I made the mistake with my last one, of dropping nearly all exercise, bar Aqua natal, and I'm sure that's why it took me just over a year to shift the weight, compared to a friend of mine who swam and continued exercise throughout! oopse....

Bella23 · 14/04/2005 22:39

Evening all ladies!
George - stop prodding your boobs !!....seriously i do this all the time, sometimes at inappropriate times at work as well when i think no one is looking!
Right so reflexology session was fab. the lady was really lovely, I told her all about TTC and she was very symapthetic, I felt quite emotional telling her and was a little worried I was going to blub...think this was a bit down to nerves and also verbalising.
She started massaging my feet, this actually felt really nice and not remotely ticklish. after she had done my feet she finished off with some Reikhi healing on my head. Right this is the really weird bi and trust me i am the last person to every buy into happy clappy stuff but i swear this is what happened. I was laid there with my eyes closed and she was gently putting her hands on my head. I was feeling a bit stressed out at this point and twitching about as I was thinking "oh god what am I doing here, this hands thing is a bit way out for me and I think its a load of old mumbo" and then just before she lifted her hands off me I just felt this immense rush to my head and it was so nice that I actully broke out into a big grin!! It was so nice, a real lift!
Anyhow once all had finished she then said that she could tell from my feet that i had lower back pain which is something I have always suffered from, and then i pointed to one part of my feet that I felt was funny when she pressed it and she said it was my shoulders which have also been giving my grief.....was all pretty amazing!
She said that she had concentrated on my pituitary gland as this is where all the hormones etc are released from and necessary for TTC etc. She was saying that by working on all parts of the body it would get all the bloody moving round and see that everything is working properly.
So how do I fell after all this? Well I must say that I feel a lot more centred and a lot less negative. Obviously the result from all this is that I want a BFP ......well watch this space! I will definately go back for another session though I think.

Baa Baa from another sheep....

Bella23 · 14/04/2005 22:41

Sorry about terrible spelling........am lost without spellcheck!

dramaqueen72 · 14/04/2005 23:03

LOL at spell check Bella, me too! sounds absolutely wonderful your session I WANT ONE! i dont suppose rosies can just pop bakc and tell me whats safe in pg?? i LOVE your reiki feeling. i had acupuncture and thought the same (this is never going to work what am i doing?) and as soon as they stopped and i sat up i felt WONDERFUL. like full of beans and zest for life. which is why i'm on the look out for someone who does it around here...but you hear so many stories about unqualified people doing more harm than good that it makes me paranoid.
I'm so glad it went well for you bella. and i'm glad she was nice.
Heres- I am indeed lurking and still posting! i cant go!
yellbear, fingers crossed for next friday then, gosh the next batch of testers you would all be due around new years eve wouldnt you? blimey!
munz before we get engaged in portsmouth v southampton conversations (!) i would like to say I'm NOt from southampton. i just live here right now. dh from the forest and I'm from bournemouth. got that?! LOL! tho i'm quite fond of southampton now, and live at west quay shopping mall. its my local seeing how i dont drink much (or at all now)
george/rom this month my boobs have felt heavy as opposed to 'painful' or twinge-y (is that a real word?[blush) and i keep weighing them up in my hands.....LOL its an odd sight and i keep doing it....I did ask dh a few days ago if he thought they were bigger(stnading half dressed in front of him) but all he said was '.er..sorry what was the question, i cant concentrate!'PMSL! but they are, now getting that 'attractive' double boob look from bursting out of bra cups. mm, lovely,!

Cadmum · 14/04/2005 23:32

Am still trying to catch up on today's events! What a lovely chatty bunch!
Romilly: Nearly cried when I saw that you said we are not talking about the 'l' word on this thread! I really hope that my January order is filled so that any subsequent thread starter is not so limited. You are very kind to me.

Cadmum · 14/04/2005 23:35

Will post more once my little ones are off in dream-land!
I did already say a big Congrats to DQ, didn't I? I am so pleased that you are still posting here. I will miss you! The ealiest I will be due is January...{sad]

george32 · 15/04/2005 07:02

Morning to everyone,
Bella your reflexology sounds fantastic (apart from the scary feet aspect!). I'm sure it will work its wonders on you for a BFP this month.
So glad there are other "prodders" too!! LOL at Bella prodding at work and DQs DH getting distracted!!
DQ so glad you are still posting here for the time being.

Heres, you are so good when it comes to testing - due next wed & no test yet!!

So YBear & MMum, how long are you holding out for then before testing? I'm due a week on Sunday (I think) so looks like it might be sticks at the ready at the end of next week for me. If its a positive, its no champagne & hot tub for me when I take DP away for his b'day. But I guess it is a bit of a consolation if its a BFN.
Right, time for a cup of tea.

rosies · 15/04/2005 09:04

hi bella and all,

so glad you enjoyed your reflexology, bella. reiki is a great treatment too... i often find its flowing through when i do any of my therapies. its a gentle, non invasive treatment. its using energy to help us heal ourselves. i often combine treatments actually.

DQ... congrats btw. hmmm tricky one this, as i dont know your personal background but i do know your pregnancy is particularly precious (yes i know all are, but YKWIM). IF you can find a qualified maternity therapist, speak to them and see what they say. i think i would perhaps be more inclined to give reiki actually, certainly for a few weeks. maybe by week 8 or 10 i'd start gentle reflexology and certainly if all is stable, i'd do it after 12 weeks. have a treatment, perhaps once a month until say week, 34 or so, then go every 2 weeks.

there is evidence to show that regular treatments can help with easier pregnancy, delivery with less medical intervention and calmer babies.

now who is that who keeps worrying about her feet!!! its funny isnt it that people that dont like their own feet hate the idea of having anyone touch them! believe me... just because you dont like your feet, your reflexologist will love them! do try it...

best wishes!

munz · 15/04/2005 09:05

morning all, hope everyone's ok

DQ - wooohhhoo hold ur horses girl! I ahve nothing against southampton folk personally and god knows they have better shops than in p'mouth, it's just well it's expected in our family! I know poor excuse thou. (I don't go out on match day or anything to get into the fighting!) new forest is nice as well, my parent r aftermoving there but are finding it hard to get a 'reasonable' house which is a step up from what they have (a 3 bed semi) for around £250 -£300,000 as they don't want a huge morgage

I think I will carry on witht eh swimming as it's the only excersise I get (apart from walking the dogs hopefully all will be ok) still gotta get there first!

Bella23 · 15/04/2005 09:06

Morning all ladies,
George - really like your idea for the ante-natal thread, I feel like we all really need to see this all through together
I have a funny feeling in my waters as my Nan used to say that we are due more graduates this month......feel like we are on a roll now...hoorah!
Munz - I would carry on with the swimming, I think its one of the best exercises for pre and during pregnancy. I have a go every now and again but am a terrible swimmer, can't do breast stroke as just sink and can only do front crawl with lots of thrashing about. I really could do with adult swimming lessons, had loads of lessons as a kid but my brothers spent most of their time trying to drown me in the deep end so perhaps that is why I never learnt properly.
George - impressed that you are in the garden, such a good idea for sorting the old head out as well a bit of work with nature!
Wendy - Going to start opk testing on Sunday and also bding in earnest, am a woman on a mission so have pre warned DH.
Rom - still off the vodka and tonics....surely a preg sign.......can think of no other reason not to fancy one !!!
Right ......off to do some work...

munz · 15/04/2005 09:13

Nemo1977 · 15/04/2005 09:19

hi all agree about reflex through pregnancy with ds i had it fortnightly from 12weeks until 39..it was lovely to relax but also worked wonders on a back problem i have and couldnt take my ibuprofen for.

Bella23 · 15/04/2005 09:21

Munz - no order are all through Rom, she's doing a sterling job so far!

teuch · 15/04/2005 09:47

Hi folks,
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I just wanted to add to the reiki comments - my mum is qualified but I had always avoided it (she told me some weird stuff from her training that even freaked her out!) but the night before I was married I was so nervous I was sick every few minutes (right through rehearsal and everything...) until she persuaded me to be 'reiki-ed' - after about 20 minutes there was no more spewing and I felt so relaxed. On the day I felt relaxed, serene (!) and had a ball. Also, she used reiki on my sister's unborn daughter and her dog (of all things...would lie there blissed out for about 3 hours afterwards!)

Anyway, I have bought hpt and have hidden it from myself...am I turning bonkers? It is a First Response one - can I test on Saturday?
Teuch x

wendy11 · 15/04/2005 09:57

Morning Ladies,

LOL at George and boob poking - I am another guilty of this I usually end up with sore boobs from all the poking!!

Bella - so glad you enjoyed your reflexology session. OK sheep effect coming into effect.... I am off to look in yellow pages at all the refleologists and try and find someone who has maternity/fertility experience.

DQ/Nemo - how are you both this morning?

Love the idea of a ante-natal thread for all of us to keep in touch when we finally get our BFP's.

Got a first aid training day at work today so just popped in to see how everyone is during my tea break - will hopefully catch up later on

Diddle · 15/04/2005 10:03

wish i knew when AF was due, waiting still for it to arrive ater my m/c. feels like i've waitied ages, but its only been 2 weeks. want to get trying again now, yesterday, tomorrow. feel like i'm wasting time. feel well now, but i suppose my insides might still be healing.
Anyone know hwo long it shoudl take roughly before i have another AF, i've always been quite regular

teuch · 15/04/2005 10:36

Diddle...
I had a D&C after my missed m/c and I was told that CD1 would actually be the last day of bleeding (after the op or after you naturally m/c) and that you should expect first AF 28 days later (but it is not unusual for this to vary, despite your 'normal' cycle if you have one.

Are you 2 weeks late or two weeks since stopped bleeding from m/c? remember to take precautions for now as you should o before you get that first AF but it is always reassuring to know that your cycle is working and hormones back to normal before you try again (although the waiting is excruciating).

Hope that helps

Diddle · 15/04/2005 10:48

Taking precautions - no bd for us at the moment.
Thanks teuch, didn't have a d&c m/c naturally, 2 weeks ago today, stopped bleeding last weekend. Didn't get any useful info like that from my hospital. thanks for telling me. Had a previous m/c in Jan and tried and caught straight away so we want to wait this time for at least one AF, due to have something to go on, and to know that my body is getting back to normal.

dramaqueen72 · 15/04/2005 11:11

morning ladies I'm doing okay thanks for asking, abit tired and feeling abit faint/dizzy, which is not fun but i'm okay. struggling with my dh who says the maddest things or maybe i'm hyper sensitive right now! this morning he not only said 'christmas eve? oh thats not good timing is it?' (.er..yes actually it is bloody is) but then he said, 'why bother with the 6-8wk scan? we could just wait and see if we make 12wks' (well yes we could but I'M GOING CRAZY WITH WORRY HERE ALREADY and want to see a healthy heartbeat asap) so hes now aware he may have put a foot wrong and is treading on eggshells. hmmmmmmmmmm, men! thanks for your advice Rosies, you sound like a lovely guardian angel floating in and saying the right things! i think i may wait til that magical 12wks mark then.
bella, i too have a feeling about the next few weeks here i think there will be a heap of BFP this month. its almost like rom let me peek at the orders!
cadmum, dont be sad, my ds was born jan15th and it was a lovely time to have a baby!
I have a heavy 'deep' feeling in my tummy today. i think i remember it from last pg. hope its normal, it ell you guys theres a whole new set of scary things to worry about after the bfp! its like i couldnt see anything but getting that bfp, now its here i'm scared to death!
george, still awaiting your address to mail extra opks/hpts too. what cycle day you on?

george32 · 15/04/2005 11:39

Oops, I've just sent it DQ. Thankyou so much. I'm on CD 5 now so not too much longer before I can test.
I'm painting the computer room today so sitting in lots of paint fumes at the moment - Mmmm! Am doing it as a surprise for DP as we have been at odds over what colour to do it. He wants white & I wanted anything but, so I am being kind & a white room he shall have. So looking forward to him coming home tonight. Munz, don't know how you cope!!

Wendy, can you practise your first aid on my finger please? Manged to snip a bit out of it with a pair of scissors earlier and won't stop bleeding - not good when trying to paint a room white (can I pretend that it was meant it to have a subtle pink colour???)

Rom, are you busy preparing the next order???
